(00:01):
Just in case you missed it,it's the top five sports talkers of the
day. Now it's time for DanBarrero's Top five at five. It is
indeed that time again. Lavelle Bottomof the hour. Rick Bosich will join
next segment as well. We'll havea chance to get back to some Timberwolves

(00:22):
conversation before we wrap things up atsix point thirty. But now let's begin
in Louisville, Kentucky, because we'regonna have Bosa on next segment. Maybe
he'll have more information here. ScottiScheffler was arrested. It was very strange.
Four criminal charges, including I thinkat least one felony. Yes,

(00:42):
we can get to that in asecond. I think most people that have
been following the sports world kind ofunderstand what happened. There's a video on
him being taken into one of thesquad cars in handcuffs. Yeah. So
it started with a tragic situation wherea volunteer basically helping to work with secure
you're working with the PGA Championship washit by a shuttle bus and was killed

(01:04):
around five in the morning. Aterrible situation there that made traffic untenable for
patrons that were trying to get tothe event, workers that were trying to
get to the event, and golferswere trying to get to the event.
So Scotti Scheffler's trying to get tothe course to warm up three four hours
before his tea time, and hestopped basically right at the front door of

(01:30):
Valhalla Golf Club by police, andwhat happened is in dispute. Apparently in
a statement today, Scheffler said, there was a big misunderstanding of what I
thought I was being asked to do. I never intended to disregard any of
the instructions. A Louisville Metro PoliceDepartment arrest report released today said Detective Brian
Gillis was dragged to the ground andsuffered pain, swelling and abrasions to his

(01:53):
left wrist and knee after Scheffler's suvaccelerated by Gillis. He was transported to
a hospital by emergency personnel for evaluation. He said his uniform pants were damaged
beyond repair. The charges, asyou mentioned, a second degree assaulted the
police officer, third degree criminal mischief, reckless driving, and disregarding traffic signals
from an officer directing traffic. Theassault charges of felony. The others are

(02:16):
misdemeanors. There's an arraignment scheduled forTuesday at nine am Eastern. Scheffler today
said that'll get resolved, I thinkfairly quickly. So there's kind of a
dispute on what exactly happened, whenit exactly happened, and obviously everybody's trying
to figure out who's to blame forall of this. I wonder if there's

(02:38):
going to be also, I mean, is there gonna be video on this
thing eventually? Is this where what'sthe cameras? Bodycam is? Is there
gonna be body cam? You wouldthink Davil has that. I know.
I think Bosich has been working onthis story all day because PGA is in
Louisville. So I'm hoping he canfill in some gaps between five point fifteen

(02:59):
and five thirty because this falls underthe classification of I sort of need to
know more information. I need morestuff before I can do it. So
could this turn out to be justsort of a silly overreaction by what he
thought was a couple of yellow coatsas opposed to police, or I mean,

(03:22):
the allegation is more serious than that. That he basically in his vehicle.
He keeps going and he's dragging apolice officer who I think was injured.
Yeah, the reports I read,So that's what this all comes down
to. And all of this wastaking place. It was like five in
the morning, right or five fifteenis like in the dark. It was
extremely dark, which may have hadsomething to do with it as well.
So we'll see he's in I thinkI see third place, for whatever that's

(03:45):
worth. So he gets out ofjail, the owner of Valhalla goes to
pick him up, brings him back. Yeah. He also mentioned he was
sitting in the holding cell watching Greenyand the get up crew talking about him
being arrested in the jail. Andthen he goes to the course fires a
sixty six, five under par hisfirst hold. Yeah, I think.
So he's nine under for the tournament. He's three behind Sanders Shoffley and two

(04:10):
behind Colin Morikawa. Brooks Koepka isstill on the course. He's three under
par through ninety day. He isseven under par twenty fee. How is
eight? Try to give you acouple of other names here that people might
be interested in. It's a messfor Tiger. I can't even find him.
I can't even do my bit thathe's lurking. But Scotti Scheffler rolls
out of jail where he said hedid some stretching in the cell. If

(04:32):
I didn't mention that, got himselfready had a sandwich because the police said,
would you like to full experience youknow, fingerprinted? Yeah, mugg
But they put him in the inthe jail suite too, They made him
strip down, They put him inthe jail shop. But before then he
left. Is it by Nike ifthey don't ship him a bunch of orange
shirts now are on the weekend?Yeah, might very well be. Somebody

(04:54):
texted that. On his podcast today, Draymond Green blamed Rudy Gobert for the
confusion in the mix up. Heblamed the Frenchman. Yeah, that's right,
not Rudy Gobert, the Frenchman. He blamed the Frenchman. Like there's
some like it's some sort of likelower classification of human being. Very strange.

(05:14):
So more details we hope from RickBozic, who thankfully for us,
is on the scene in Louisville. The Minnesota Twins begin tonight's series against the
Cleveland Guardians. Two and a halfgames back of them. It is in
Cleveland. They're about to first pitchit here in a little bit six ten,
about an hour from now. SimeonWoods Richardson, the kid who strikes

(05:38):
out a lot of guys, getsto start tonight opposing Tristan McKenzie, who
also strikes out a lot against Mackenzie'sbeen good for a really long time.
The Guardians are twenty seven and seventeenon the season, twelve and six there
in Cleveland. The Twins, aftergetting swept and not scoring for the last
twenty six innings of the New YorkYankees series, are twenty four and nineteen.
So I think this year, andI don't know the next few weeks

(06:01):
will help answer the question who arethe You know, who are the Minnesota
Twins? Right? Are they theteam that struggled out of the gate mightily?
Are they the team that seemed tocatch its footing, particularly offensively,
right until a disastrous three game seriesagainst the Yankees in which we totaled all
of one run first inning of thefirst game a dong. And I think

(06:28):
in the getaway Day game we onlyeven had one runner reach second base,
so in scoring position, I shouldsay, so, we'll see because we're
kind of in that in between modehere, what are we what do we
want to be with the rest ofour season? The Timberwolves forced to Game
seven last night. We've spent muchof the show discussing that a one to
fifteen to seventy rout of the DenverNuggets. Game seven will be in Denver

(06:51):
on Sunday. We're a waiting gametime. It will be either two thirty
Central or seven o'clock Central. Weare waiting for the completion of the Eastern
Conference semi finals between the Knicks andPacers, and that Game six is tonight.
The Knicks lead that series three gamesto two. It's in Indianapolis,
and should the Knicks finish it offtonight, the Wolves will play in the

(07:14):
afternoon. Should that, should Indianaextend it to game seven back at the
Garden, that game will be atseven o'clock. So we were waiting for
that series to get done. It'sinteresting because originally I said, you know,
I kind of like, let's haveit at night. But the more
I think about it, the oldfashioned way, game seven Sunday afternoon,
right, say it does, that'sthe time to have it, feels like
we see John Tesh's music at NBCand we'd be the only show in town

(07:39):
too on that day exactly. That'sthe beauty of it, So I kind
of lean that way. I thinkthe Pacers are going to extend the series,
though, because they got insulted bytheir coach. They're back home.
They're five and a half point favorites, and the Knicks are still limited because
of who they're playing. I don'ttrust the Pacers in a Game seven at
the Garden, but I think Iprobably trust them here, So I think
it's more likely that were the secondgame of the pair of Game seven double

(08:03):
header, that'd be a heck ofa which is a nice Sunday for pro
basketball for sure. I've been meaningto bring this up. I was listening
to one of the games between thePacers and the Knicks. It must have
been, must have been Game four, and they're play by play guy who
I know has been there for awhile and is really good and well respected
and is good. It's a goodbroadcast. But you know, my thing

(08:24):
with Indianapolis. Yes, recently we'vehad some issues with Indianapolis. You know,
they're the basketball capital of the world. Everything they host is a success.
That's all you know, sund andI we understand that. Okay.
He brings you back from break onthe Pacers Radio network and he says,
welcome back. And I assume thiswas the New York broadcast for a minute
because he said the best basketball welcomeback to the best basketball arena in the

(08:48):
world, Gamebridge Field House in Indianapolis, Indiana. It's like, just relax,
can sik? Is that the oldsame one? Conseco. It's the
best, It's the best field Howsome basketball? I've never even been there.
What are you talking about? Icovered games there Canseco. I think
I thought you recovered the return ofMichael Jordan. There wasn't that at Market

(09:09):
Square. No, that was that. That doesn't go back that far's been
open for thirty years. That's doublecheck. But I'm pretty sure I was
at Conseco markets. Put it thisway. I know I've been at Consico,
whether it was for that that game, tournaments are there. Yeah,
for sure, it's the best. It's the best arena. It's in the
best. What it is that's undeniable. I'm sure it is, and I've
been there. It's fine. It'sa nice arena. Yeah, when we

(09:31):
build a new one. I hopewe'd mind. You're never gonna give them
any credit now because you think theyget too much credit. No, because
they asked for so much. Theydeserve it. They they flippingly just go
out. It's the basketball arena inthe world, earned it in the whole
world. Indianapolis, Indiana, it'sit's the basketball I mean, if we're
the hockey bat capital, they're thebasketball capital India. It's the state of

(09:52):
hockey and they're the state of basket. It's just so precious. Just let
other people. By the way,if you're gonna make every your entire preseason
media campaign around making money off KaitlinClark, you can't not let Caitlin Clark
show up after his first her firsthome game, even as a disaster at

(10:13):
the postgame presser makes No. Youcan't have it both ways. You can't
say, yeah, we are makingit a lot about her because she's elevating
the entire league, and then becauseshe struggles, Oh gotta protect her.
Kaitlin Clark doesn't need protection. That'sthe first thing that's so patronize. Definitely
not unbelievable anyway, I'm sorry. No, that means that's enough. Tok
for a grand in your hand, grant in your hand, and then Bosch

(10:35):
the faninbigdeck dot com, I wantto put a grand in your hand.
The final keyword of the week isgreen, not Draymond. Go to kfan
dot com and enter the keyword green. So what happened in the Scottie Scheffler
story. We're gonna get to thebottom of it with a guy who's been
covering it all day on the scene, our guy Rick Bosich from Louisville,
Kentucky. That's next the stories astadium could tell. I don't really know.

(11:03):
I feel like my head's still spinning. I can't really explain what happened
this morning. I did spend sometime stretching in a jail cell. That
was the first for me. Youknow, I was a part of my
warm up. I was just sittingthere waiting, and you know, I
started going through my warm up.I felt like there was a chance I
may be able to still come outhere and play, and so I started
going through my routine and I triedto get my heart right down as much
as I could today. But likeI said, you know, I still

(11:24):
feel like my head spinning A littlebit, but yeah, I was fortunate
to be able to make it backout and play some golf stack. There's
really no sport, well maybe profootball, that our next guest enjoys covering
more than the grand game of golf, and a little to Rick Bozch know
that dayline Louisville PGA, he wouldn'tjust be covering golf. He would be

(11:46):
kind of doing cop shop reporting, which once upon a time the fan has
learned he did. He was anews reporter I think in Anderson, Indiana,
before he was ever doing sports stuff. Isn't that right? Didn't you
cover news in Anderson, No,Bloomington after I left Anderson? Okay,
that was my way back back whenI was sleeping on the floor in your

(12:07):
apartment. That was the city hallreporter at the The long story for another
day. I'm going to read youa text that was the voice, obviously
for our listeners of Scotty Scheffler.I want to read your text because I
think it'll set up what I wantto get to with you, and it
expresses a sentiment I've received a lottoday regarding whatever took place this morning,

(12:30):
This Scott Scheffler thing. No,that's not the right one. Where's the
correct one who drives around guys inyellow jackets by an accident? Let's not
ignore that Scheffler was acting fully entitledthe old do you know who I am?
Bit? That's the way a lotof people feel about that story.
Do you know enough yet to saythey have a right to feel that way?

(12:50):
Do you think there's more to it? What do you think you know?
I guess I'm given the perspective ofscott Scheffler's attorney, who I know,
Steve Romins and wrote a column withtoday. It was more of a
misunderstanding that you've been to golf tournamentsbefore. One of the big problems at
golf tournaments is traffic, usually onlyone or two ways in and one or

(13:13):
two ways out. And in thiscase, it's a four lane road,
a major road on the east sideof Louisville, and it's mainly buses going
towards the golf course. And atfive nine or whatever it was this morning,
a bus hit a volunteer here fromfor the PGA and killed him.

(13:35):
And then like an hour or solater, Scottie Scheffler showed up and there
was still a huge traffic backup andI'm sure he was in a hurry to
get to the course, and hisstory is that a police officer waved him
into making the left turn into thegolf course entrance, and then after he
got away from that police officer, another police officer told him no, no,

(13:56):
no, I guess put his handup to stop, and Scheffler kept
going. And at that point thepolice officer got on the car and that's
when he got injured, some bruiseson his wrist and elbow, I think,
and his pants got torn. Andthen Scheffler pulled over and stopped.
And what he did, they arrestedhim and cuffed him and took him downtown.

(14:18):
So I would tend to believe itwas more of a misunderstanding than a
guy who said don't From what I'vetold he never did say played the do
you know who I am? Cart? So is it? But I mean,
the way you've described it, Imean part of my pushback would be,
well, then if you got somebodyelse, whether they're wrong or whether
you're frustrated by you know, mixedsignals on the direction, you got to

(14:43):
stop, don't you. You haveto stop immediately. You can't just plow
ahead. Yeah, I mean,I understand what you're saying. I think
that he felt like the first officertold him to go ahead and go,
and then he could go, andhe was starting to accelerate. Then the
other second office or contradicted that andhe stopped. Uh, you know.

(15:03):
And the only guy who really isas stepped forward as any kind of a
witness who spoke is the ESPN guyJeff Darlington, who's there, and I
think he's kind of backed up Scheffler'sstory at this point. And you know,
from most Scheffler doesn't seem to havethe reputation of being a jerk.
Most everybody who's been around golf hadcovered and said he's like one of the

(15:26):
nicest guys on the tour, andhe doesn't seem to be the kind of
guy who would disregard a police officerand drive right past him. So,
you know, I guess at somepoint it might be sure some kind of
bodycam video or car video or whatever, but at this point we haven't seen
any. And by the way,it's pitch black at this point right or
close to it isn't like between fiveand five fifteen in the morning something like

(15:48):
that. Well, now, whenhe actually got arrested, it was six
something, so it's right around thetime it's starting to be like that.
It's it's still primarily dark, gotcha. And the one that when the gentleman
was it was it was dark. But then when when when Scheffler was arrested,
it was a little the hour later. So there's four charges I think,
including one felony. Is that correct, as I assume, is a
felony related to the idea of dragginga police officer? Is that the at

(16:12):
least in the the thea A.I think it's some kind of an assault
charge, which I'm sure was hittingthe police officer, hitting the police officer
with the car, dragging the policeofficer with the car, however it went
down. So where does this gofrom here? Well, I mean Scheffler,

(16:32):
I don't know if you watched thewhole press conference, but I thought
he handled himself really well. Yeah, he went in the press conference and
said, first of all, mythoughts go to the family of the gentleman
who died. We need to rememberthat. And secondly, you know,
I it was a misunderstanding, itwas a chaotic situation. And then he
said that after he gotten the policecar was driven downtown. He was handcuffed

(16:56):
with you know, in the cartaking all the way downtown, which is
about a half hour ride. Thathe was treated very well by the police,
and when he got to the policestation, I think they realized who
he was. And at that pointit became a little bit jovial that one
of the booking officers said, well, do you want the full booking treatment.
He goes, what do you meanby that? He goes, well,
if you get bookedn't coming in,You'll get a sandwich. I'll give
you a sandwich. So I gavehim a sandwich. And at that point

(17:18):
he's started doing his stretching exercises inthe jail cell and could see himself on
the ESPN camera and his people hadgotten in touch with his attorney and they
got him out pretty quick. Clint, he got back here and played this
round. I love the grum Gal, a regular listener to the show,
said Wright, he actually did notpull the dude you know who I am.

(17:40):
ESPN was right there. Cops didnot even know who he was and
reported he not pull that card andwas and they were surprised he didn't.
Is that what you've heard as wellor found out Yeah, that's what he
said. He never did tell himwho he was, and that his attorney
said that he didn't do that, which I'm sure he had to get some
shuffler because his attorney wasn't there. But yeah, he never did play that

(18:00):
card, and they finally figured itout. I think from what I was
told, right after he was takenaway, somebody explained to what the police
officer was there that who it was, but by then he was already gone.
If you watched the video from JeffDarlington, there's a police officer that
Scheffler I think told the ESPN guy, can you help me out? And

(18:22):
then I think the ESPN guy saidon media and he said, you can't
help your friend now he's going downtownor something like that. I've got a
text from I'll just call him,a law enforcement source who wasn't there but
deals with these kinds of issues fromtime to time. Here's what he writes.
A nightmare for the PD that stoppedpr nightmare for the PD that stopped

(18:45):
stopped him. This will not lookgood at the end of this. PGA
may have been able to communicate alittle better to all the players that there
was a fatal accident and things neededto be shut down. Has to be
a group text all players and orcoaches and caddies to relay this info that
being set a cop never jump ona car. Sounds like the cop may
have also been a little too aggressive. That was that's interesting. Again,

(19:07):
he's not there, but it wasinteresting to hear some of his thoughts on
it. Yeah, you know, like I said, that's the issue that
you have in a lot of golftournaments is traffic. It's a major thing.
And they want a lot of peopleto ride buses in and out of
the course. People are getting hereearly when it's dark, and they should

(19:27):
have got it's rained a lot,so that's even cut back on some of
the parking. Yeah, and theyshould have done a better job agetting.
I mean a couple of players talkedabout how they were fearful there. One
guy was talking about how his wifewas bringing him and he was fearful,
who's going to miss his tea time? And he got out of the car
and walked the last mile and ahalf to the course. That's how fearful
he was and missing his tea time. So I'm sure there was it was

(19:49):
a stressful period for all the allgolfers who were trying to get here.
Scheffler finishes the day minus nine. No, he shot a sixty six today,
so he's tied for four. Isthat correct? That's my understanding at
this point. I haven't seen thelightest leaderboard, but I think that's correct.
He was he was four or fiveyesterday. I think he was four

(20:10):
yesterday and he's five today or eitherhe's nine. He's he's close to the
leads, within a couple of strokesof the lead. And considering the way
he played the series won for thelast five tournaments he's played in, including
the Masters, he will be aforce. We appreciate the time. I
know you got to get out ofhere because you've got a lot of TV
work to do covering this particular story. Man, Oh, good for you
get to it. Are you've dressedproperly or are you allowed to wear like

(20:33):
golf attire? Oh? I alwayswear logo clothing. Even better, Thanks,
Ricardo, appreciate you. You're welcome. Rick Bozic w d RB,
Yeah, he's a TV guy thesedays. He does a lot of sports
commentary work for that Louisville station.Rights for their website WDRB dot com and
it was, you know, assignedto cover what he thought was going to

(20:56):
be a regular golf tournament turns intoa tragedy this morning. And then he's
covering a news story with the Schefflerangle as well. So we get a
little bit more information from somebody downon the scene. What do we have
left today? Well, we gota lot more Timberwolves discussion to get to
reaction from our next guest, Lavellinel the third on the Wolves extending the

(21:18):
conference semifinal series on the Western sideto game seven on Sunday. We'll get
his Lavelle's thoughts on that. We'llprobably get a little bit on a bad
week for so far for your MinnesotaTwins and who knows what else with lavel
and if you have questions for him, hit the bratch on Brian Cafe in
text line six for six eight sixSo game seven, man, that's it.

(21:45):
It's all the marvels. I'm sittingin the house. I'm loading up
the pump. I'm loading up toOuzzi. I got a couple of M
sixteen's, a couple of nins,I got a couple joints with some sounds
is on I'm just loading up clips. A couple of grenades, got a
miss launch over a couple of missiles. I'm ready for war. Twenty years

(22:07):
ago, I'm guessing Saturday, theday before the anniversary of the Wolves Sacramento
game seven, KG words that hewas forced by politically correct reporters like our
next guest to walk back. It'sbad, bad when you make violent analogies.

(22:32):
This is a war. Go on, you realize there's real war and
this is just toy department sports. How dare you use that analogy to this
day? I'm I'm actually glad thatthe anniversary is the anniversary because it allows
us to continue to mock the idiotswho actually pretended there was this this,

(22:53):
this, this unspeakable line that KGcrossed on that day when any self respecting
adult, and dare I say it, child knew exactly what he meant.
He was being asked to build thedamn game up. That's what that was
his mission. He said, Okay, I'll do it. That's what you

(23:15):
want, I'll do it. I'llshow you how intense I'm gonna be on
this thing. But I'm sure ifLavelle had been writing a column back then,
you'd have demanded an apology from KGby how offensive his words might sound
to people who've actually dealt with realviolence. Wouldn't you that's what you would
have done? Well? Did hehave to name every type of weapon known?

(23:36):
The man? That's the point. That's that's selling it. It's called
detail in He didn't mention, Hedidn't. He didn't mention the forty five
of the smith, the wesson.Okay, whatever else were you even in
this market? Then? I wasOkay, I remember today, Pierre with
that one big time for several days. Yeah, well we all did.

(23:57):
I think it was pretty hard notto. But I think we were the
only show on record saying stop apologizingfor it. And that's been playing on
It's been played on X dot comnow. Man, I can't believe it's
officially has a name. Now it'sbeen on X off the last ever since
the yesterday's game ended. Uh,that video of KG, what's X dot

(24:17):
com? What is that? Whatdo you mean? Has changed? Oh?
I see, I didn't. Okay, I thought it was I thought
it was something within the online realm. I thought it was like a particular
a particular site. All right,so we know, Uh, there's a
game seven again, first time sincethat series, which of course ended with

(24:41):
a VIRTUEO. So maybe the bestperformance of Kg's career Game seven target Center,
uh, little GUARDSY and I sideby side on that occasion. I
was already out of the newspaper business, I think by that. Yeah,
it was twenty years ago. Sothe history the basketball is historians are saying,

(25:02):
Okay, that was Kg's total comingout party, even though he was
already established by then as being avery good player. This is the opportunity
for Anthony Edwards. I think AnthonyEdwards has already had his coming out basketball
party, to be honest with you, but there's no better way to punctuate
it or to emphasize the point thathe's arrived. I think you'll agree if

(25:25):
he goes to Denver and leads theWolves over the defending world champions with the
world watching Game seven to reach theconference finals. Well, the thing about
the NBA, which is weird, because we start comparing coming out parties and
players are the players. Somehow theconversation ends up devolving into who's won titles?

(25:48):
You know? Yeah, And Ithink that's an unfair separator because this
isn't golf where you are your owngut player. You've got teammates and they
have to be responsible for holding uptheir end in these things. But that's
the way it is in the NBA. So yeah, ants legend will grow
if he can walk into Denver andwalk out and head straight for the Western

(26:11):
Conference Finals, no doubt. Butif they lose that game, I still
think that he has he's because it'sthe playoffs, a nation wide audience has
been able to see more of him. Yeah, and I think his stars
shining even more regardless of what happensin Sunday's game. So I tend to

(26:33):
agree, go ahead. Here's theonly exception if he if he does something
like go two for twelve, thenI think people will say, look,
he's on his way for sure. But you know, let's stop with the
Jordan comparisons. This is an exampleof where there's still a little bit more
he's got to get to and he'sgot to figure out because Michael's not going
to do that in a game seven, even though people kind of conveniently forget

(26:56):
that Michael actually had some clunker games, even though as you mentioned, it
may well be in part because shedidn't have you know, the greatest pieces
around him. But I tend tothink that you're right, and it's part
of what I think is compelling aboutthis game, right, is about individual
player, even though it's a teamgame, individual players sort of staking out

(27:18):
their territory. Denver already has kindof done that, they won it last
year. They're expected to fend offthe cute little club for Minnesota. But
it is a great opportunity for thefor the you know, beyond just Anthony
Edwards, for the Wolves to sayno, no, we're we're We're not
going away anytime soon. We're hereto stay. I mean, here's the

(27:41):
thing. Close out games in arow are hard to win, you know,
trying to get the finish off theteam in their house. That's that's
a tough thing because a team's goingto respond face and elimination. The Wolves
did that splendidly yesterday. But Istill think to the amount of pressure on
Denver coming back for Game seven. So the fans that know how to feel

(28:03):
about this, because this is ateam that did come back from O two
to the wins three Star games, but this is also the team that caught
up along a Game two under awithering defensive pressure from the Wolves. So
I think, you know, thiscomes down to effort and execution, and
usually effort starts what's inside of you. And if the Wolves have that in

(28:26):
them on Sunday, I sound likedouble teenew. If the Wolves had that
in the Sunday, then I thinkthey could pull this off. But I
think there's a little more pressure onDenver going to this game. Yeah,
that's what sam Mitchell says, becausethey're kind of expected to win. The
whole pressure thing can get a littlebit funky to figure out because if the
Wolves lose their out. But yeah, I mean Denver is you know,

(28:52):
they they were favored to win thisseries. They're favored to win this game.
They are playing at home, Soto that extent, I think the
sam Mitchell argument is the pressure wasall on the Wolves in Game six,
and I think there's some truth tothat because they were at home and if
they lose, they're out. Andyou know, Guarziy and I have talked
about this, you get into legaciesof how you evaluate a season. There

(29:15):
is I think we felt going intoGame six gonna be a big difference between
losing four straight, including the lastone in an elimination fashion at home and
extending the world defending World champions twoseven. Even if you lose it,
making them beat you on their homecourt, I don't think there's gonna be

(29:36):
a lot of people saying, well, the Wolves are awful, the Wolves
are done. The Wolves proved they'renot worthy. It was an important win.
I believe didn't, you know, guarantee anything including getting to the next
round, let alone a title. But I think it was an important win
for the Wolves. And I thinkthe way they want it, the degree
to which they utterly and completely dominatedin historic NBA playoff fashion, I think

(30:00):
does change very much. How evenif they do lose on Sunday, this
run is going to be viewed. What do you think? Yeah, I
agree, I still think it's gonnabe a positive for this franchise. And
and Dan, let's look, youknow, if you just go back and
just look at some of the championshipteams, you know they suffered before they
succeeded. You know, the Bulletshad to learn to beat the Pistons,

(30:21):
the Pissons that learned to beat withthe the Lakers I can't remember, and
the other teams out there. Ithink Denver, you know, I had
to take on an attend a coupletimes before they were able to climb the
mountain top. And you know thisis this is a long this is a
long haul here. Just because theWolves are good now doesn't automatically mean they
gotta win the title this year tovalidate everything. They just have to prove

(30:41):
that they can they can go toeto toe with the best teams in the
league, which they have and evenif if the season that Sunday arrows pointing
straight up, I mean, it'sno doubt that that. But in most
cases teams have to suffer before theysucceed. I think the Wolves are in
that mode right now. If theyit can overcome if they went on Sunday

(31:04):
and at Denver in their house againstthe best player in the world, that
more power to them. That's evenmore impressive. But usually there's a procession,
there's a there's a developments path tobecoming the champion. Yeah, that's
the history that we've talked about thatalmost from the beginning of the People don't
want to hear it at the time, which I get, but that tends

(31:25):
to be now. I think whatfelt maybe a little different this year is
you have the number the best recordin the league, almost the entire season,
which is a different entry point.Usually right then they end up in
the third spot, but it's adifferent entry point. Usually, you know,
you start making you know your willmaybe you win a series or a
four or five or six, andyou go from there. And that this

(31:45):
year it was viewed a little bitmore open, and I think that goes
back to maybe underestimating, including bymyself, you know what Denver still ultimately
has in the tank. The interestingthing is if Dallas finishes off Oklahoma City
and the Wolves find a way towin Game seven, you're hosting, you
know, you are have home courtadvantage to get to, for the first

(32:07):
time in the history of the franchise, the NBA Finals, and that should
be a very tantalizing thought. Thatshould I think keep the Timberwolves rather interested
in the proceedings on Sunday. Well, I mean that just pile that on
top, because it sounds like thecoaches staff did a great job of putting

(32:27):
together a hype video of all theworld's greatest hits to get them motivated to
return to that type of play inGame six. And maybe you can also
have plane tickets from Dallas to Minnesotaon that screen signifying that the Mavericks have
to come to the target center thebig bullseye to start the Western Conference Finals.

(32:51):
So you can just add that onto the ways to be motivated to
do well in game seven. Soyou know, you've covered a lot of
teams, You've covered a lot ofsituations in which allegedly there was a genius
motivational tact taken by a manager bya coach before a game. Now,

(33:14):
usually, conveniently, we only hearabout those after the team then goes on
wins. We don't hear about theones that actually don't work. But we
had that, as you mentioned, allegedly this hype tape that was the lads
watched I think really an hour orso before the game, and Conley talked
about it. Anthony Edwards introduced thesubject after the game as well. Interestingly,

(33:38):
the Knicks before they won Game fivealso allegedly were inspired by something that
supposedly punctured the tension in the room, and in that case, it was
allegedly someone farting. So if we'reranking motivational approaches to success, how do

(34:01):
you put that? I mean,I think the hype tape seems a little
more noble than a fart by Istill to this day, I guess I
don't know if it's that player hasbeen identified being the thing that then everybody
kind of cracked up and it kindof loose, It kind of punctured the
tension. I I guess it goesto show you there are all kinds of
motivational tacks that seem to be effectivedepending on the team in the situation.

(34:24):
I remember, I believe the BostonRed Sox didn't they trailing Yankees three to
zero in a in a series andstarted taking shots of Jack Daniels before games
and they came back up won theseries. Well, they were down three
to oh either is that true thatthat I had not heard that one?
Oh my goodness. Yeah. Itgoes to show you that I believe.
I believe that's true. I believeit's out there. I think that's been

(34:45):
documented. Okay, they started havingteam shots. I'll take that guards you
can look that up on the flyhere. But I'm pretty sure that's true.
So anything you know, there's nothere's nothing gonna bounce, and these
situations when your backs against while youneed something to motivate you, or something

(35:05):
to make you laugh or something tocalm you down. Yeah, so you
can go out in the battle. It can be a goofy song. I
mean the Twins. Last year,Roco was playing some of his goofy music
loud in his office with the dooropen so the players could hear it as
they came in, you know, because he's a big Fish fan. He
was playing some other weird song oneday we came in there, and I

(35:28):
guess that was his own way oftrying to get the guy to relax or
just kind of bend their mind inthe right way. So it's kind of
interesting how some of these with theseteams and these managers and coaches come up
with in order to get the guysto perform at their best and when the
lights are brightest we're talking about thetwo thousand and four Red Sox is out

(35:49):
with level was wondering, well, his guy, Pedro Martinez. I told
this a couple of years ago.Starting with Game four of the Alcs,
they started taking a shot of MamaWanna a drink from the Dominican Republic.
That is rum, red wine andhoney soaked in a bottle with tree bark
and herbs. Here's Pedro. Everybodytook a little bit from the top of

(36:10):
the shot. After we won thefirst game, somebody did it before the
game. It was Ellis Burks, who wasn't on the roster at the time.
He took the first shot. ThenMalar jumped in, then Johnny Damon
jumped in, and then everybody startedjumping in. So we did this team
unity to actually keep the same traditiongoing for the team. We had to
do it for the four games webeat the Yankees. We started when we
were down three zero. There itis confirmation. Wow, great, all

(36:32):
the guys who liked to drink jumpedin at the Johnny Damon BT covered,
Kevin Malar drink within bars and Ican't remember what the third guy you said,
but Ellis Burks elx Berks juice. That's beautiful. Then everybody did it.
Yeah. So but again, thethe dirty little secret is we tend
to hear about these stories when theresult indicates success, right. I mean,

(36:55):
the fact is there's a lot ofmotivational ploys that didn't work that we
never hear about because those people aren'tgoing to talk about that. There's there's
no reason, there's no incentive forthem to talk about that. If indeed,
they don't if it doesn't change theoutcome, or you know, it
doesn't change the direction of a seriesor a single game. Did you know,
Dan, No, We're at thepoint when in today's sports society,

(37:17):
fans are going to find that anyreason to be upset. They'll probably be
upset at the coach of the manager. Well, did you try anything funny?
You get these guys are relaxed beforeyou play in the big game or
not, you know? Or didyou just tell them to go out and
play their best and give give theirall? You know, that's where're at
now in society. If something doesn'twork, they may gonna want to know
the steps or how deep you wentinto trying to get to your team motivate

(37:40):
to play well even though they fellshort. Would you suggest, if asked
that the perhaps the Twins should trysome voodoo juice before they take on the
Cleveland Guardians based on how disastrous thethree game series was against the Bronx Bomers.
I think they just mean need twentysix voodoo dolls with every number of

(38:00):
the yank with the Yankee players eachnumber on them. They just start poking
when they start facing the or atleast the pitching staff, for goodness sakes
one home run to start the seriesand then the next twenty seven ounce,
you know, twenty seven fifty four, it's eighty one, then anyone else
and the series is over. Youknow, that was that was something else.

(38:22):
I didn't even know the guy pitchedyesterday, Clark and Kimber's last last
name. I didn't even know whothe hell he was until I started watching
him deal yesterday. I was like, man, this guy's pretty good.
So tells you how fastings and turned. Because the Twins offense was looking pretty
good. They came off a goodseries against the Toronto Blue Jays. When
they come and then get run overby the Yankees, you know, of

(38:43):
course, thinking eight, Gal waslike, you know, pumping it up,
you know, on my text phonethroughout the series, you know,
because she was out all three gamesbehind the Yankees dugout. You know,
she's sending me a sweet Brew emojiat the end yesterday's game, you know,
so she was happy, she wassatisfied. But as the Twins go

(39:05):
one, you look at you lookat that lineup, the seventy eight nine
hitters, you had, like Melo, Margo Karlofi struggling and Christian Vasquez,
who was a fine receiver. Butthat looks slow right now at the play
and it just looks slow. Butthey got a plan because Roccos, as
I wrote this week, Roccos plansto play two catchers to keep Jeffer's fresh,

(39:27):
but to keep his bat in thelineup. Yeah, and I have
no problem born in Vaska than youwant. By the way, Clarke Schmidt.
Schmid is the pitcher who's been verygood this entire season for the Yankees,
and who is it appears has developedpotentially into the real thing. But
yeah, it was. I meanthe defense, we had some defense,

(39:49):
a number of defensive misplays. Ihad no hitting really to speak of.
It. It felt like a throwbackbecause, like you know, remember last
year the Twins won the season seriesagainst the Yankees. But this seraries he's
felt like a throwback series right wherethey're literally never in it. They have
one lead once it won to nothingin the first game and that's it.

(40:09):
The rest of the series, they'renot leading at all. It doesn't feel
I even heard Molly on the radiobroadcast for a couple winnings say, you
know, these are four nothing, five now they said, but it feels
like bigger. It feels like eightto nine. And that's how historically it
has been with the Yankees, right, It's it's it's all. It's almost
like it's a it's a daily mismatch. Well, in this particular series,

(40:31):
when Yankees scored running the first, running the second, running the third,
you know, and you're watching theTwins swing and miss at the plate,
and there was the feeling of hopelessnessthat just came over the ballpark because it
was like dead by thousand cuts fromthe Yankees except for Aaron Judge. It
wasn't cutom rad Judges, Judge. It was fought out bombs, cannons,
housers of prodigious blast third deck homeruns. It was ridiculous that I think

(40:57):
at one point in that series,Judge had fifteen total basis and the Twins
had twenty as a team in thatseries at one point, and that was
just absolutely destructive. And so I'msitting there looking at the Twins dugout,
I'm like, man, I rememberlooking in that dug out with Guardy was
the manager and when Molly was themanager, trying to play the Yankees,
and I looked it up I thinkRocco actually has the best winning percentage of

(41:22):
the three against the Yankees. ButI think Rocco was just like two fifty
nine. Yeah, you know,I mean it's just so no, you
know, you want to go backto those days. But you know,
granted, the Yankees, I mean, man, they have at won the
World Series in a while. Youknow, they dominated the Twins, but
they have won the World Series. This team looks like it could be interesting
once Garrett Cole could get back inthe line up here, you know,

(41:43):
for them, So we'll see howit goes. The Twins have to get
healthy, they gotta get Bucks inthe line and have them stay in the
lineup. Lord knows when Royce Louisis gonna be in the lineup, but
he needs to stay on a linewhen he gets back to and and just
trickle down. It's interesting. Yousound more pessimistic and Corey provis when we
had Provos on earlier this week,he sounded like he was a little bit

(42:05):
more encouraged that you than you are, not that he's two days away or
anything like that, but that it'snot going to be quite as extended as
you have. So are you hearinganything different since last week, because you
basically made it sound like to bepost All Star Break, didn't you.
Well, that's what That's what Iwas told, and I'm not the only
one that's been told that. Yeah, and so by hearing the optimism that
came out of the wall came outof the park this week, I was

(42:27):
a little surprised at that because Ilooked it up. Lewis is on record
in our paper saying that part ofthe quad tour for the bone, okay,
so that those things take a whileto recover. And yeah, I
know he's up to running, buthis running program is going to be closely
watched and he's going to have toclosely follow it and they're not going to
try to put too much on himthat he can't handle. So I mean

(42:51):
that just tells me. I stillthink it could be a month before he
starts playing any of the games, and then that's going to take him into
into July. So if he beatsJuly one, he's a quick killer.
Tip my cap to him. Butyou know, Base one, I was
told expect July All Star break, and one other person was told later than
that. But I don't think it'sgonna be that bad last item. We

(43:15):
talked a lot about the Vikings schedule, with Guest laying about four thirty.
Now that you've had a chance tolook at the monsters of the Midway schedule,
the Bears schedule fourteen and three, what do you think? Well,
I would say this, there's apath to the Bears being six and three
after nine games. But this isthe weirdest schedule. This is the weirdest

(43:37):
schedule I've ever seen. The Bearsdon't play an NFC North opponent two week
eleven, and then they cramped sixof those games, winning up yeah,
six of those games, and knowthe final weeks of the regular season.
So it's a kind of a baffingschedule to me. Well, that might
be good because then you know, the division could be well, Viking's not
included, might be you know,we all think the Viking. The rest

(43:58):
of the division is pretty tough offright, So it allows thet the Bears
to gain some confidence going into thatstretch where you might you know, the
Lions are good. I think it'sfair to say the Packers are good.
The Vikings, who knows about them? Oh, I know, I know,
you know what situation of Vik's gonnabe well, JJ McCarthy be starting
by week eleven. You know,I'm just curious to see. I'm just

(44:22):
curious to see how this is goingto play out. But I like the
part I saw. I mean, they started to bear. Start with Tennessee.
That's wonderful game. Then they're atHouston. That's an interesting game because
it's ceed's trout ed Indianapolis. ILLlike their chances. There rams definitely a
tough one. Carolina they should winthat one. Jacksonville they can't win that
one. That's in London though, that's Jacksonville's second home. Then they're at

(44:45):
Washington, who they beat at Washingtonlast year. They're at Arizona. Arizona
doesn't know what's up from down.New England's recovering. And then we could
love even play Green Bay. SoI see six and three. There's a
shot at six and three before weget the conference play. I can't wait.
Right around the corner. It won'tbe long, believe me. Training
camps coming, and then it goesreally, really really fast. What are

(45:07):
you writing about for Sunday? Iwill say this and what I'm doing for
Sunday it's something links related. Iwas supposed to because I was ill yesterday.
I didn't make links practice. Iwas working on the links angles kind
of Caitlin Clark w n B agrowth Minnesota Lynks angle. Is that why
I'm wondering if it was I wonderif now I understand why Reeve. We
had Cheryl Reeve in the cage yesterdayfrom Target Center. She ripped you.

(45:30):
Now I know why you didn't showup for practice. What waitmen? Well,
I was going to, but Itold Guardia I got to think yesterday
at the Twins game. So Iactually was in bed for all of the
Wolves game. I think yesterday. Now I'm afraid to ask. Things were
working on two ends there, soI didn't even ask. I feel a

(45:52):
lot better now brought it up.You're a journalist. God, you always
asked too many follow ups. You'retrying to protect me in this case.
I didn't even get to it,and he decided to volunteer it anyway.
Unbelievable. Trust me, about halfof your listenership has been through what I've
been. Half we're not. We'veall been there, but we don't need
to hear about all that much ofthe detail. To be honest with you,

(46:14):
we got to go. Okay, sir, is that is that all
right? Yeah? That's fine.Appreciate you. So are you links for
Sunday without visiting practice or did youjust not write now for Sunday. I'm
still gonna write it for Sunday.Okay, keep upose. I would have
been great to get some input, but you know me, I can make

(46:34):
it up. Yeah, you makeit up as you go along. Absolutely,
That's what I did for years.Unfortunately. Thank you, Yeah,
thank you, sir. Lavelle eNeil the Third apparently facing some gastric disturbances
over the last twenty four hours.I'm sure. If you want more detail
from just tweet at him and hewill probably might have Hell, he might

(46:55):
even give you a video. Don'tmiss out on a night of laughs.

You can catch the family Dude Canadahost and he brings us funny.
You should say that to our totown in October twenty fifth that tickets are

(47:15):
q or calendar and now it's timefor old to a dead guy. We

(47:38):
had a hell of a run, they really did. But it's never anything
but sad when it ends, andit has ended for Dabney Coleman, who
has died at the age of ninetytwo years old ninety two for Dabney Award

(48:02):
winning TV and movie actor passed awayat his home apparently in Santa Monica,
California. His breakthrough role probably wasthe nineteen eighty motion picture called Nine to
five. He was the obnoxious sexistboss in that film. Starred as a

(48:34):
controversial television talk show host in Buffalo, New York in a show called Buffalo
Bill, which I didn't watch allof that much, but did get some
attention at the time. He laterplayed the part of a sports writer for

(48:55):
a struggling newspaper in an ABC sitcomcalled The Slap Maxwell Story. Emmy nomination
for that also on a Golden Globerating is not So Good. Show was
very well received at the time bythe critics. Very clever, I might
add as well, I thought oneof his most memorable roles was as a

(49:22):
very obnoxious soap opera actor in afilm called Tutsie, which I think,
to a certain extent, I meanthat's Dustin Hoffman territory. But I think
there were times where I thought healmost stole the show. He was so
does Jeff know? Effective? That'sit there and lots of other roles over

(49:44):
the years as as well. Idon't think he's been he's been in much.
Was he been? It's been awhile. I think since he's been
in much that I can recall. But maybe there are texters out there who
can remind us of some of arole I'm missing. Via the bratch on

(50:07):
Brian Cafe in text line six foursix eight six, he I'm looking at
the New York Times, oh bit, and an interview with New York Magazine
in twenty ten, he discussed howmuch he enjoyed playing the role of Rapscallion.

(50:27):
That's such a good word, rapscallion. It's fun playing those roles.
You get to do outlandish things, things that you want to do probably in
real life, but you just don'tbecause you are a civilized human being.
Dabney Coleman dead at the age ofwhat did I say, ninety two,
ninety two years old. I don'tknow what at the last few years of

(50:52):
his life have been like, buthe had very interesting I think career complaints
coming into the bratch on Brian Kafantext line, Wow, no doctor Dan
this week after you guys spurned itlast week. Must be the summer hours
again. Well, I thought aboutit yesterday, but it was tricky yesterday

(51:12):
because you were here and I wasat the cage and there was much stuff
to follow regarding the Wolves game six. My pledge is that we will not
miss the inbox next Thursday. Canwe agree to that? You think or
might? Is that a mistake becausewe don't know what's happening then? I
mean next Thursday we'll be reviewing gameone of the Western Conference Finals. Perhaps

(51:35):
it's a good point it starts Wednesday, sho I think we could, I
hope still find time for we couldn't. We could also move it to another
day. We could do that too, We absolutely could do that as as
well. I'm sorry that I appreciatethere's interest in the bit. Yeah,
and we actually got some this week, did you really? Yeah? You
get out even asking We do getthem. Unpropped it a lot, which

(51:57):
is great throughout the week. Wheneverthat came guns clip comes on, I
turned the radio off for a minute. I hate it, always have and
always Well I'm not here to sayit was, you know, one of
the great clever moments. I justdidn't think it was worth the pushback at
all, and I feel even morestrongly about it as I said twenty years
later. Greg from Apple Valley waslisting when we had Rick Bozach on to

(52:22):
discuss the wats. Scheffler's first nameScotty. Scotty the standout golfer is any
ranked number one? Yes, yeah, he's a big time He's crushing every
kerfuffle he gets arrested this morning. Why does it sound like your guest is
saying, along with others that onceit was realized he was a famous golfer,
he couldn't possibly have dragged a cop. OJ was a pretty good golfer.

(52:44):
I'm not trying to be funny.I'm not sure Greg that that'd be
the analogy that I'd go with inthis situation. OJ and whatever this particular
golfer did. I O. J. Simpson, charged with murdering brutally to

(53:06):
individuals, ultimately found not guilty incriminal court amazingly, but maybe not so
amazingly given the circumstances and the waythe case was adjudicated, but then found
culpable via a civil court and whateverthis dust up was about. Come on,
man, we can do better thanthat. And I guess I don't
know how he gets out of whatRick Bosych said that particular conclusion as well.

(53:37):
Like I said, I, youknow, I'm hoping we get more
accurate information because it feels already likemost stories that we're going to we're gonna
want to make assumptions on the basisof the assumptions. You know, a
man of privilege, don't you knowwho I am? Whether he you know,
played that card or not. Didhe drag a cop knowingly, did

(53:59):
a cop on the car. There'sa lot of things we don't know.
I will say that what I saidto Rick that if you become aware,
the minute you become aware, nomatter whether you think they have a right
to do it or not, thatthe cops jumping on the car, you
can't keep driving, even if youfeel like you're being wrong, and even
if somebody else has already waived youin that direction. But again, I

(54:23):
fear that people are less interested infollowing the story than they are locking in
on Well, he's got to besome millionaire, privileged guy who thinks he
can do whatever he wants to do. We know those people exist. They
must surely do. But the notionthat that means that that's what we have

(54:45):
to assume took place here regardless ofwhat the facts may show, is stupid
predictable. It's sort of the youknow where we are, and I would
prefer to wait a little bit longer, But that's just me. Too many
people are acting like the sky isfalling for the Twins. They were bad

(55:05):
against the Yankees. That's three gamesout of one hundred and sixty two.
Well, it's a little bit morecomplicated than that. He's technically right.
They come back and, you know, play well against Cleveland. It'll probably
be pretty quickly forgotten, at leastuntil the next time we play the Yankees.
But we're all trying to get ahandle on what this team is.
You're right, they weren't going tolike it's seventeen out of twenty, you're

(55:27):
not going to just keep winning forever. But it was a disappointing performance to
say the least, and it lendscredence to the notion that maybe that what
we saw the first part of theseason is indicative of what this team is
more than what we saw the nextstretch. But that story will all be
told in very good time. Andif I think John from Lakeville is honest,

(55:52):
people rightly still in this town havea lot of baggage about whenever we
play the Yankees. Even if theTwins won the season series last year,
which they did, right that,it's like, okay, well that sounded
that was that felt good? Butis that already being reversed? And that's
sort of how it feels at thispoint. Let's do this. Let's wrap
up the program. I want toget to a couple of final Wolves thoughts

(56:13):
as we prepare for Game seven onthe Fan. We'll give you details on
when that game will be played. There are two possibilities. We'll get into
all of that review a couple interestingthings that Sam Mitchell had to say with
us on the subject of Game sevenas well, when we wrap things fan,
speaking of the Wolves, they haveforced to Game seven. You can
catch that game Wolves Nuggets this Sundayright if you're on the Fan FM one

(56:36):
hundred point three KPAN and everywhere yougo, anywhere you go on the free
iHeartRadio app. It's presented by scarAudio. Elevate your Ride Today. The
show rap presented by American Pressure commercialgrade pressure washers since nineteen seventy five.
It's the bumper to bumper show wrap. Dan from Plymouth. Given recent history,
I'm having a hard time not thinkingthat this reeks of a police officer

(56:59):
on a power trip. You know, how not to get dragged by a
car. Let go of it.Sadly, my bias is to automatically assume
the cop is in the wrong.Well, there is something to be said
for the notion of jumping onto avehicle in which the person in it is
not a wanted criminal. Right,This isn't a case of we got a

(57:20):
warrant out on somebody. We're tryingto stop him because we need to put
him under arrest. Where at worst, what this person does is not pay
attention to wherever they're supposed to begoing. And that is even in conflict
as well, there's disagreement there, and that part doesn't make a whole hell
of a lot of sense to methat the proper law enforcement response is to

(57:43):
jump onto the vehicle. That said, if that's what's happening to me,
it's incumbent upon the individual to alsostop the vehicle as well. So let's
see where that story goes. Guardshe mentioned the Wolves, So if the
Pacers, if the Knicks finish offthe Pas tonight in game six, then

(58:04):
the Wolves would be the only gameWolves Denver would be a two thirty Central
start. Okay, if as Iexpect, the Pacers win it at home
in game six to force at gameseven in that series the Pacers Knicks,
Game seven would be the two thirtygame. The Wolves would be on TNT
at seven o'clock that night. Eitherway, the game will be on the

(58:28):
fans, so either at two thirtyon the fan or seven pm on Sunday.
Sunday sermons I'm sure will be veryheavy on game seven. My assumption
is we'll try to squeeze in AlanHorton again. If it's an early game,
there might be a shoot around controversy, but usually we're able to work
around that, as we did lastweek with Horton. So that's the plan
there. I'd be kind of fittingif it was TNT and Harlem was on

(58:50):
the call twenty years it'd be terrific, absolutely true. Chadow with Sam Mitchell
at three point thirty on the Wolves. He was very impressed with finally what
he we were all looking clamoring forsome adjustments by the Wolves, both offensive
and defensive. He lays those outin very I think good specificity, with
a great deal of detail, andhe also reminded us of a former Timberwolves

(59:15):
coach not named Flip Standers, whohe became exasperated by because instead of adjusting
with an x's and zero move athalftime, he just basically said, be
more physical to deal with the pickand roll. Involving who was it?
It was Dan Marley, No,Tom Chambers, Chambers john and Kevin Johnson
a good player. That was avery fun callback into sordid Minnesota Timberwolves history

(59:39):
as as well so podcast between threepoint thirty and four o'clock bonus Johnny Athletic
today outstanding in the Wolves on hisway to Denver, Colorado. He fully
expects Conley to be fine, especiallywith the extra day. Although he didn't
think Conley moved that well, Conleystill had an impact big time. He

(01:00:02):
hit some shots and he spread theoffense the old Okay, we're going to
go to the other side of thecourt and take advantage of openings. Because
of all the attention that Anthony Edwardsis getting, Anthony Edwards had a lot
more real estate with which to workin this game than he did in the
previous games. As well, anice conversation with Rick Bosch out of on

(01:00:24):
the Scheffler controversy out of Louisville,Kentucky. We also had Ben Gesling a
mini segment with him on the Vikingschedule at four point thirty and Lavelle on
all sorts of stuff, including whathe thinks the Chicago Bears are going to
do as we had a brief becauseof me Bears fan line. We also
found out that Laval is suffering orwas suffering for some significant gastric disturbances.

(01:00:51):
Well he's a gamer, Yeah, that's what he is. To audio.
Oh yeah, I forgot about that, Tims Audi. This is what we
would call quintessential. This is pregametoday, I think, yes, preparing
for game six. It's classic TIBsbehavior. Question and answer, it's quick,
Kusha. I was the Rangers movingon any any dialogue between you and

(01:01:12):
their coach about what it takes toto move on or any We don't have
a lot of time right now,so we just locked into what we gotta
do. But obviously happy for them. I with that I need to go.
I do appreciate how TIBs like you. That's just classic TIBs where he's
kind of got that rise smile onhis face, which really isn't a smile,
Like what are you doing? Igot no time for this nonsense,

(01:01:36):
but I don't want to be toomuch of a richard about it, so
I'll just go halfway with it.But we're kind of locked in, so
I uh, I love it.I I'm a TIBs guy. You're a
TIBs guy, even if he's gota ward or two. I just it's
that I'm gonna try too hard toask something. Got the Rangers going in
New York, We got the Nicksgoing to New York, and you know,

(01:01:58):
maybe you guys have bonded on it, or maybe what some coaches will
do is I'll expand on it,even though I have no time to talk
to a hockey coach, but I'llI'll I'll play right. I'll go along
with your bid here because I it'sfine, I understand the deal. And
Tim's like, oh man, comeon, we got Game six. We
want to end this thing tonight becauseif we do, we get extra time

(01:02:21):
because the Boston New York series wouldnot start till Tuesday, and then the
Knicks got a little extra time toget healthier and get get ready, right,
I think it's going to be I'llbe surprised if the knickt win tonight
and that shocked. You're surprised. It's tough, right, It's tough with
other injuries. Yeah, and itjust Indiana's good and they will just challenged
dramatically by their head coach. Sothere's a lot going for the Pacers tonight,

(01:02:45):
and Indiana gets to play in thebest basketball arena in the world.
Correct. By the way, Isaid, it's T and T game.
If it's the Wolves, it's it'sseven on Sunday. If it's two thirty,
that's ABC, ABC two thirty,TNT at seven. Either case,
all the coverage right here on thefan, as I said, including I

(01:03:06):
think a big Wolves edition of aSunday Sermons. Thanks for watching, Thanks
for listening. Don't forget Fox Nine'senough said, very controversial show which we
might have something to do with sevenpoint thirty on the Plus nine thirty on
Fox nine. Especially watch for theLori Fisher gaffes
