(00:08):
For the first time in two decades. Your Timberwolves are in the Western Conference
Finals, Cats Game one against Dallasthis Wednesday at seven thirty pm right here
on FM one hundred point three KPANand anywhere you go on the Free iheartradiop
presented by Scar Audio elevator ride todaycouple thirteen, fourteenth past. I'm calm

(00:29):
and he's gonna be excited and delightedto be joined by the legendary Mark Rosen.
And my first question for you,sir on Wednesday night? Yeah,
is that tomorrow or that tomorrow? They played to Wednesday Game one Wednesday night?
Will you be courtside or media sectionas we stand right now, subject

(00:51):
to be determined. I am sittingmedia, which is fine. I'm one
you know that probably asked what's goingto end up? And I'm ecstatic.
Second question, sir, is CraigKilbourne coming back to time? I'm not
unaware of. I texted him.I didn't ask him specifically, I think
I were. I was chatting withhim like a lot of people after the

(01:12):
game on Sunday night, just wildlytexting people and responding to people, and
I didn't even ask if he wascoming back. I don't know. Yeah,
I mean it's one of those guysthat might make up his mind the
last minute. I heard KG mightbe coming back, and they said that's
what KG said. Really, Ididn't. He had an interview with Steven
A. Smith and he said something. Steve and A asked him, you're

(01:34):
gonna go back to Minnesota and hedidn't say, you know, like waiting
for Boston. He said, hesaid something. Yeah, it was a
short answer. But unless my hearingis betrayed me, I think he said
yes. But that doesn't mean it'stomorrow. I don't know if it's Friday
regardless or what night regardless. Anyway, Greg from Apple Valley answers our question,

(01:56):
Timnaby. He says, in thetaxi drivers scene, the guy de
Niro was applying to for the cabjob was asking are you willing to drive
into Harlem the Bronx, et cetera, to which Nio kept responding, responding,
I'll drive anywhere anytime I want towake up town. Knight Broms Hollom
didn't work anytime anywhere. We wakeJewish Holidays anytime anywhere. Let me see
a show up his license any townthat come where I don't know. I

(02:21):
just I mean, I love theone of my favorite, the greatest movies
of all time. Why did Ibring that up? I don't know why
I brought that up. Oh,we played to Boston. Yeah, we
play them anywhere anytime. Oh Isee, Okay, that was the contest.
Was just one of my manics. We'll play them anywhere anytime, doesn't
matter who we play. Sounds likeyeah. My third question for you,
are you firmly back on the bandwagon? Now? Firm in the band when

(02:42):
they you had said on this veryairways, but you said, I said,
well, they can't win in sixnow because they're down three to two?
Are there right? No? Itwas too I said, no,
they were It was too two right. And I said, well, if
Denver wins tomorrow night, right, you can't pick the Wolves in six anymore.
Do you think the Wolves will stillwin? And you said Denver will

(03:04):
win the series if they go upthree games too, I did, yeah.
About sitting, uh, staring ata ticket in my drawer, I
guess that's all the matters that suggestsotherwise, that's ten b that suggests otherwise.
I don't have to wait to winthe West. I only have to
win the West. I don't haveto wait to win the whole and how
much money will you make? Uhthree grand? Wow? And Tenneb's win

(03:28):
the whole thing and that's only twentytwo hundred. Well he put I put
more money out, Oh well, tenn be and he is I'm not Mark
Rosen money, No, And Iactually, truth be told, I was
out there for the Masters. Ithought I had I was gonna put more
on it, but I didn't havemore money on me. So that was
the way that goes. I'm notcomplaining, I'm I And honestly, I

(03:49):
didn't even think of it. Whenthey won. They ran away with that
game in the second half. Iwas so damn happy, like a lot
of fans were. I wasn't thinkingabout any of that. So and I'm
even more excited for this series becauseit's gonna be another uh knockout, dragout
affair. It's gonna go quick.Speaking of betting slips and odds and such,

(04:11):
I have them. I have someodds that I think may be of
interest to the two of you.All Right, it's sort of amazing to
look at where we are with anNBA Final Four Updated NBA championship odds.
These were the ones posted the daythe season started, So if you would

(04:31):
have bet the day of the season, so boy can imagine. Celtics four
to one were co favorites with theBucks to win the title four to one.
The MAVs were the eighth favorite attwenty five to one. The Tea
Wolves were the fifteenth favorite at fiftyfive to one. You've got to be
kidding me. Fifty five to one. That would have been the time to

(04:56):
bet. A course is difficult tobet when you look at the team and
everybody was excited, we were runningit back, but there was nothing,
I don't think, to lead youto believe that there was going to be
some miracle run. Now, yeah, over yet they still have they got
They'm gonna win eight more games. Not over yet. But the Pacers were
the twenty second favorite two hundred andfifty to one. Now, I think

(05:17):
their Cinderella story probably ends this week, right, I can't see them beating
Probably not, but I don't thinkthat's going to be a short series either.
They match up pretty well with theCeltics, and the Celtics are still
missing Porzingis so that it gives themat least for the first few games of
the series. Now the odds arePacers plus two sixty Celtics minus a twenty,

(05:41):
so the current odds suggest the currentodds suggest an eighty eight point one
percent chance of the Celtics winning theseries. Line open at Celtics minus thirteen
hundred, Pacers at plus a twentyfive. Early money is on the Pacers
at the Originally they have the Wolvesin Dallas. Sure, okay, I
just want to get to the easternNo, the western right Dallas plus one

(06:02):
fifty five Minnesota minus one seventy five. Current odds suggest a sixty three point
six percent chance the Timberwolves winning theseries. The line opened at Timberwols minus
one fifty Maps plus one thirty,So money's starting to go to the Wolves.
It sounds like to me if Iunderstand, that is or four and

(06:23):
a half point favorite sporne, whichdoesn't mean anything, but it's it goes
to show you how how how muchBoston is favor is more likely by the
odds makers to beat the Pacers becausethe Pacers are lesser club than the Wolves.
Because the odds, the current oddssuggests the Celtics have an eighty nine
percent chance to move on TIMBERWLS sixtythree, sixty three still nice, but

(06:46):
Mark Ry, Yeah, I meanBoston's road to the NBA Finals has been
you know, made a lot easierwith major injuries. And you know what
happened with the Knicks, even losingto Indiana the way they did, they
were down to like four five healthybodies and not taking any away from the
Pacers, and they played awfully wellat the end, and they got a
nice team. But you know Milwaukeeand and what happened with emb and what

(07:10):
happened with the Greek freak, andyou know, it's just a lot of
things that the powerhouse teams, socalled powerhouse teams in the East kind of
fell by the wayside. In theWest, you know, it's been much
more competitive, although teams that weremaybe expected to be there, even even
the Lakers and Golden State and obviouslyDenver Clippers, I mentioned them, they

(07:35):
were all favored ahead of the Wolvesgoing into this thing. So people are
surprised, But I don't think it'staking anything away now. I mean,
if I'm trying to take a stepback and look at either one, if
Boston played Dallas in the finals.I think that would be you know,
people would be certainly tun tuning into see donsice against you know, the

(07:56):
Celtics and what they have to offer, and obviously if miss so it gets
there, you know, for somany reasons, it would be just an
incredible final series. But that's waydown the road. Celtics are minus one
sixty as the favorites Minnesota plus tosixty. Now will this bother? I

(08:16):
think this does bother Wild fans whosaid who are also who are still hold
the garage against the Dallas Stars. The Minnesota ro starch titeay moving to Dallasta
are still bitter. They still hatethe Stars franchise. They are right now
the favorite to win the Stanley Cupaccording to the odds makers nine to five

(08:39):
plus one eighty, Panthers nine tofour plus two twenty five, then the
Rangers, Boilers, Canucks. Tellamy'sthat about right? Do you think there's
Stars or right now the odds onfavorite. They were my choice to win
it all before the playoffs began. They've wait hold on to a certain extent.
You can say they've kind of hadto go down the road. The
Timberwolves have had to go down theTimberwolves. Wolves said, they've had to

(09:01):
face two tough teams in Phoenix that'sgot Durantula and Booker, and then you
got to face the defending champs. You got to knock them down. Dallas
had to go through a Vegas teamthat was the defending champions, and they
just got in Mark Stone off theLTI R just conveniently, just in time
for the playoffs, all of asudden he was available. Crazy how that
worked. And so they had atough series against Vegas. I think that

(09:24):
went seven, and then had togo through the Colorado Avalanche, which we
know all the fire follers there. So they've had to play two really you
know, Stanley Cup contenders they've hadto take down. Dallas is a pretty
complete team, and they got toface Connor McDavid. Connor McDavid, there
you go, it's over rated.Connor McDavid's good, Dry sitles good.

(09:46):
I think I think Dallas just haseverything in terms of they've got the goaltending,
they've got the defenseman, they gotscoring, they're good up the middle.
They're a pretty complete team, andI think their depth will probably take
down Edmonton. Edmonton's got the start, they got riot suitor, right,
they do a cup? Has heno? Oh, Mike, I was
watching it. You know the gameseven part. I thought we were going

(10:09):
to contend. For all swear hemust have won one here, didn't he?
The skate tris hes so close. You're getting ripped for what. I
want to congratulate Rosen. He's stuckby his original prediction that the Wolves would
win seven games, and it paidoff for him. Surely. He had
originally said the Wolves could sweep, then said Wolves in six. Then after

(10:30):
game five he said Nuggets would win, but then when the Wolves dominated game
six, he said Wolves winning seven. I don't know what me? What?
What did I say? They weregonna know that he made that last
prediction, But I'm just assuming previousactions. Welcome back to the spotlight man,
How did you know? Was there? Mandelica? Because he's the only
one that has this kind of timeon his hands, and he's very creative.

(10:50):
They were good. I'm sweeping withthis one. Does anyone really believe
that Mark Rosen wasn't thinking about thatbetting ticket when they came back to God,
it's true. I mean, I'mnot going to lie and say when
it was over after the fact thatduring the game I was I honestly was
not, especially in the second halfwhen at the beginning of the second half

(11:11):
when I thought Almison was going togo rip it up. I would never
do that, But it was stilljust a remarkable everybody knows the story by
now, whatever your viewpoint was,to have a game like that, even
getting to start the third quarter aspoorly as they did, thinking well,
they're gonna have to come out likea house of fire and this in the
third quarter if they have a chanceof coming back and winning this game,

(11:31):
and it got worse and they weredown twenty if you'd have seen at the
half twenty three minutes into the secondand let me ask you a question,
sir, now that you've seen whathappened and the excitement and one of the
greatest games in Minnesota sports history, would you have rather had a four game
sweep? Remember when I suggested,no, absolutely, I know, no,

(11:54):
absolutely, I agreed with you,And first of all, it wasn't
likely to happen like the Phoenix serieswhen they were going to sweep them.
Secondly, no, I said,I agreed. I mean I was surprised
how dominant, you know, Denverwas here in particular after the Wolves beat

(12:16):
them up in the game too,and they came in here to our building
and just destroyed them. Uh,you know, none of those games were
competitive in the fourth quarter, Andhow ironic that even after all of a
sudden done. I know, itgot a little dicey at the end of
the game on Sunday, but theWolves not only came back from twenty down,
they won kind of going away.We haven't had that, you know,

(12:39):
that buzzer beater or that last secondshot or follow whatever it was,
like well like Oklahoma City in Dallasdid with the fall shots that won the
game for them, and that that'sthe the irony of it. But no,
I agree with you. It itadded so much more to the series
when we talked about Game seven allday in the build up to it,

(13:00):
and then what happened on Sunday nightwith the comeback, So now you have
to, you know, figure itall out again. And I think these
guys are energized, and I thinkthey're they're they're they're healthy, first of
all, and we know the strainthsof this team, and now they've got
a whole different cast of characters anddo not underestimate this Dallas team. They're
awfully good. I mean, they'rethey're much more than than uh Donsich and
uh Kyrie Kyrie. Yeah, theythey got a you know, PJ.

(13:26):
Washington's a terrific player. They've addeda lot of bodies since the Wolves played,
and they they're good defensively. Theirnumbers are are awfully good. But
I think the Wolves will have abig edge again with the rebounding. But
you know, it's gonna be interestingthe matchups and Anton k Kyrie and Jade
McDaniels was named Second Team All DefensiveTeam today. On Donsich and you know,
he doesn't look you know, youknow, whether he can stay healthy.

(13:48):
I mean, he's one of thoseguys that always looks like he's playing
possible a little bit, but hehe's been banged up. And they only
have you know, one day betweengames now, and that's that's gonna be
kind of a telltale thing as well, because you're not gonna have a lot
of recovery time no matter what injuriesyou're going through. So but yeah,
the stars will be out, Imean, and then the bench, I
mean, all the stars will beout. You Barrero Kilbourne know I'm talking.

(14:13):
I always love that one on theMax. Everybody'll be there. I'm
wondering. You know, he basicallytravels with the team. I know,
how about that? Good for him? You know he travels. He's not
you know, he gets his credential. But you know he's getting on jumping
on an airplane going to the games. I'm impressed. I mean, that's

(14:35):
not easy to them. Yeah, absolutely, force me on that plane,
by Gunpa. This is a preemptivehorn blowing, blowing your own horn.
Sure, I have proof that Inever gave up on the Wolves, even
though in Game seven. Gumshoe Guyone of my close dear friends I'll be

(14:56):
playing golf with on Thursday morning Sundayat a twe one pm. He said,
do Cat and Company like to playgolf? At eight thirty four,
I said, it's not over yet, way to go. We were down
twenty points. When he texted methat I was ready, said we were
down twenty. He said, mygod, do they like to play golf?
And I said, not over yet, not over yet. Yeah,

(15:18):
good man, are you put yourheart in it? When you have Kenny
Rogers on your side? Tennab anythingcan happen, anything, anything can happen.
I was ready to tweet out,but that Tennant was working on sad
eyes. Well didn't do it.Yeah, it's sort of I'm glad I
didn't that. So yeah, andit was thrilling, you know, obviously
it was even more not just thegame seven, but like you said,

(15:43):
the way it was it was.It was close the first couple of minutes
and all of a sudden, Denvertook over and they jumped out to it.
You know, Murray was brilliant. They jumped out to a Uh.
I know, Murray was brilliant theday before that part. But anyway,
they had a fifteen point lead atthe half, pushed it to twenty,
and then suddenly the defense clamped down. It was a virtuoso defensive performance and

(16:07):
that led to some great offense andwe had the gold Bear fade away,
we had the the the the thenas red put back tip slam. We
had his finger roll bucket he hadThere's just so many moments in the game
that that that were that were obviouslyinstrumental and together. I think the appreciation
that basketball fans this area have nowfor this team because of the way they

(16:30):
uh and you've talked We've talked aboutit all the time in the regular season
about defense's effort and when it's notgoing well for Ant offensively. And we
see this in the NBA on theStars system that's created in the NBA with
you know, it's how many points. You know, Steph Curries of the
world, and you know Kevin Durantand you know the big stars that did
make the Big Bucks and go fromteam to team. Except for Steph but

(16:53):
light it up on a nightly basis, and it's not going well for him.
He's getting double teams, get tripleteam, but he's playing defense and
he just does not let up onthat aspect of his game. And that's
the thing that I love about thatkid. We'll take it works, We'll
take a break, we'll come back. We've got more to get to with
Mark Rose and trying to be asa keyword, trying to put a grand

(17:14):
somebody, and then we're back afteron the other side of the break,

So over the past week, fouror five days whatever, Tennaby has

(18:14):
been getting offerstening his betting ticket, you know, because it looked like all
was lost when they were down threegames to two and Tenneby was considering nunt.
The right offer came along, butnothing that he really wanted to sink
his teeth do and make that swaphappen. Now there's people that want to
maybe make a deal with you.Oh is that right for your betting ticket?
Yes, people are because yours isto win the West. Yours is

(18:37):
going to be three thousand dollars. And here's the first offer that's coming.
It says, proposal for Rosen andhis betting ticket. Two first class round
trip tickets to Chicago, black carservice to the Waldorf Astoria from O'Hair,
two white bathrobes that you can keepand take home in your suitcase if you
can shut it, dinner for twoat Ditka Steakhout, two tickets to watch

(19:00):
a Cubs game in the Wrigley Fieldrooftops, and the topper. So Max
doesn't get Willow high as a kitefree cat sitting will has already been high.
That's side that's proposed. Honestly, have to think about that, Well,
you'd have to too round trip.Well, to me, it's the
two white bathrooms. You can keepthe whole suitcase if you can shut it.

(19:22):
Yeah, don't if they can dothat. So so that's a pretty
good We'll see if others come inand you consider the tenne be now is
you know, he's probably there werea couple of offers he liked, but
I'm sure he and he's probably secondguessing himself a little bit when it was
down twenty in the second half. But lo and behold the Wolves come back
and out ted to be sitting prettyover there with his Betty slipping sore.

(19:45):
Are you yeah, I'm uh.I'm very excited for both of us to
cash in. I mean, Iobviously I get the first crack added just
winning the West, but then hopefullyTenant will also follow suit and we'll be
having a parade. You know sowell, you had said. I'd asked
you. I think it was eitherbefore the the Denver series or maybe during
it. I asked you, Isaid, if they were to lose to
Denver, would you consider it agood season? You said, yes,

(20:07):
yes, I don't think there's anydoubt now, especially with you know,
just how they advanced to the WesternConference Finals by beating the defending champs on
home court. Down had to winback to back games, one at Bullseye
won it at at Denver. Butnow here's for me, it's well,

(20:30):
yeah, because now that you dispatchedand dispensed to the defending champs and you
said it, Dallas is no pushoverby any stretching imagination. But still you
go. We got over what mostpeople would have considered the biggest hurdle.
Now with home court advantage, it'skind of full steam ahead. But boy,
you got to be careful here. You don't want to get too cocky,
too over con I don't think theteam will. I don't think they

(20:52):
have that in them, at leastthey don't appear to have. They say,
CERTAINLYY don't have any panic in them. When they were down twenty,
they did not panic, and theystill think I might feel worse if they
lose this series to Dallas than Iwould have had they lost Game seven on
Sunday night right, I also wassaying to myself, I don't know,
and this is when they were downby you know, fifteen twenty. I
don't know. If I can watchany of the Denver Dallas series, it's

(21:14):
gonna be too hard because I'm alwaysgoing to wonder how the Wolves would have
matched up against Dallas, and watchingJoker against Doncic and you know, blah
blah blah and going, oh man, I just you know, seeing Cat
out there and and doing this thing, and I just went, I can't
watch this. This is too painful. But now it's you know, a
different mindset and it is you,and I do think I mess like I

(21:37):
wouldn't change my feelings about It's stillgonna be a very successful season. And
more importantly, I think people recognizethat this is not a one and done
type of team that's being built herein Minnesota. I mean, Denver's talking
about you know, you know, their bench was exposed, that those guys
were gassed at the end of thegame their starters, and they don't have
a lot of maneuverability with their salarycap and what they're going to be able

(22:00):
to do in the future. Andthe Wolves don't either at the moment unless
they make a trade of some sort. I mean, I don't think Kyle
Anderson will be back, but thatmight be the only player on their current
roster. They got some young playersthat we just haven't seen much that may
have an opportunity. Miller might not. They got a couple of guys Luca
who are starting to, you know, maybe earn some more playing time the
next year, that are already signedand on this roster. So I think

(22:22):
the difference is Minnesota feels and theWolves and what Tim Connley's done and what
you know, depending on how thisownership thing goes, doesn't really matter from
that context that the Wolves are goingto be back, and you got to
you start with a guy like Auntand Kat's playing the best basketball of his
career, and he's he's settled intoa really positive role and doing the things

(22:45):
that made him the number one overallpick. At this point, it takes
time, it really does, andI think the future looks bright, but
at this point you get greedy. You don't want to let this thing get
away from you. It would bejust difficult, especially with now you've got
a home court. Yeah, well, I I I tend to agree with
you, which is rare, butI but I tend to agree with you
that it would be It would Itwouldn't say it would be an unsuccessful season,

(23:08):
but it would be very disappointing toget past Denver, get the home
court, and then lose to Dallasand not get to the to the NBA
Finals and be very disappointed. Ifsomeone come up with us so close you
can taste it. I mean someonehad a slogan. Yeah they haven't.
That's what it feels like. Here'sanother proposal to Rosen. One swordfish dinner

(23:30):
and a season passed at the chanHassen Dinner Theater, so you can give
car in the boot. You justkeep sending her over and over again on
the chan Hassen Dinner Theater. There. Here's another one. Those plane tickets
for Rosen's offer should be one way. We all know Rosy's going to move
there soon regardless, and you willbe there well once they start building.

(23:52):
That's that stadium down not too farfrom a higher away shall make him an
office and then you have to go. You're married, you can't say yeah,
And you'll be in Chicago working atw g N doing the Bears pre
game. Anything's possible, covering CalebWilliams instead of JJ McCarthy. I don't
know about that. Think about you, you'd be a turn coach dub Bears.

(24:18):
Oh you're telling me how much youlove Walter and the fridge and the
sweetness and the whole thing and PapaHallie and oh yeah, I got the
Bears history. I watched I canhear it now. I watched the Punky
qb su Greados defense of all Timein eighty five five Bears. I think
you could do it. Yeah,I know you could. That's uh.

(24:40):
I'll be retired by then, yeah, fully so yeah, so it's it's
it's all excitement and fun. Imean, I yeah, I mean,
we we've been waiting. Everyone hasso much fun. Then you know what
that that the air staff is beingasked to work Monday, Memorial Day,
the day after the game aim two, and guess what game three and three?

(25:03):
And guess what Each one of ushas said, yes, yes we
will, because that's how much welove this club. Actually, that's so
much. I love my job.I think I was threatened with being fired
if I didn't show up. SoI'll be here. I'm gonna be at
Camp Richard. I was hoping tostay late Monday, but I'm coming back.
Yeah. And Tenneby, the legendaryMark Rosen says he'll come in for
an hour. He'll spend an hourwith us talk about Game three on Monday.

(25:26):
Yeah. Wow, Well he's loyaland dedicated. I don't even know
you anymore. Yeah, look atdo you ask? I'll have to do
his ask. I mean I helpout nothing Max needs and Fridays again,
Oh you said all you can dois ask on a special occasion. Yeah
specially. Yeah. I started lookingat you know, you start looking ahead
to the schedule because like a lotof us, we do make plans.

(25:48):
And you got to go, waita minute. I started, look,
you looked at the NBA Finals scheduleand it has nothing to do with looking
past Dallas. But my god,it goes till the end of almost then
did the vikings we'll be at We'llbe at the winter Park. They winter
Park before long. If Bolt thetheir their semi finals series, their their

(26:08):
finals, Conference finals and the NBAFinals both go seven games. That's fourteen
games, and they play every otherday. That's twenty eight days. That's
a month. I know it.It's a month. Well, it's extraordinary.
We've never experienced this. We've experiencedthis once. But the the Wolves
had to open on the road inl A against the Lakers with with Shaq

(26:30):
and Kobe and and uh what washis name? The guard? Oh my
god. Anyway, it was justit was, you know, they fell
behind, never quite caught up.Sam Cassella got hurt. You know.
They just could make up an offerfor Rosi's betting ticket, a doctor's note
with a recommendation for hip surgery toonly be done between August twenty second and

(26:52):
November second and twenty twenty. That'lldo it. I think that was that.
That would do it. We'll takea break. We'll come back one
more segment to go. Want toget his thoughts on his Twins club.
We'll do that next Common Man programon the fan. Man, do you

(27:38):
think imaibled in? What was thatfrom Colin Coward? He need that?
No challenge is really spread out inthe NBA. We're gonna have a new
NBA World Champ. Thanks for that, Colin, I just appreciate that.
Yeah, for updating me on that. Hey, my mistake, I said
the Wolves opening the road in twothousand and four on my my, my

(27:59):
memory betrayed me. They did havehome court advantage against the Lakers. They
lost four games to two s whenCasella got hurt and the Lakers won game
one here. The Wolves won gametwo here and then didn't end up too
well and they end up winning gamesgame five here by two points. KG
had thirty, and then they lostagainst the Lakers by six, and that

(28:19):
series ended May thirty. First wewere talking about you know how long this
goes on? That was I remembera Memorial Day weekend or maybe pasted it
in LA when at the old StaplesCenter when they lost that series. So
my mistake. You know, amongstall the excitement with the Wolves rallying back

(28:41):
from three games to two deficit andwinning, I forgot that. Did you
know that were thirty two days awaybefore we begin losing daylight? Oh,
thanks for bringing that up. Andtalk about a wet blanket that thirty two
days and the day started getting short, boy, and then how how far
they started yet it hasn't even reallystarted yet. Well, let's see,

(29:03):
I can look that up. Ihave it on off already. Let me
let me ask you a question, boy, what's going on with your twins?
Are very topsy turvy? They startedout the season, they're pretty mediocre.
Going into that ten game stretch whereit was four against the White Sox,
three against the Angels, and thenthree more against the White Sox,

(29:23):
they were I think like six gamesunder five hundred and eight games out of
first place. They were they hadI think the second worst batting average team
bat average in the americanly maybe allof baseball, but certainly the American League
if I remember correctly. And thenthey went on that that's getting on the
they're playing Oswald's, but they don'tput the rosters together. They sweep the

(29:45):
White Sox, sweep the Angel sweepthe White Sox, win ten win,
they got a twelve game winning streak, and then they take two or three
from Boston, they take three orfour from Seattle, and two or three
from Toronto team. But then thenext thing you know, Jeffers leads off
Game one against the Angels of thehome run the one I saw. The
Twins don't score another run in twentysix innings, and then they play the
Guardians. They score the nine runsin that six game losing streak. Four

(30:08):
of those came when they were alreadydown eleven nothing. They still count the
record book, but they were garbageruns. So it's like the offense has
completely disappeared. And then and thentoday Lopez just, you know, he's
had a couple of these games wherehe's he just he just doesn't have it
really over got crushed before that.So I don't know, I mean,
I I think you know, thebecause the Walls are on this run right

(30:32):
now, the Twins are out ofsight, out of mind, and literally
out of sight for a lot ofpeople because they can't watch them on TV.
But I mean, it was discouragingto see the box score and and
uh and see what happened to Pablo, who's just you guys have talked about
it. Something off of them. He's just not pitching nearly as well as
he did a year ago. He'shad his moments, but you know,
he's he's been an automatic six inningquality start guy from day one, from

(30:56):
the time they made the trade forLuisa Rise And now you kind of just
shrug your shoulders and who they goingto count on to kind of stop the
bleeding here and and play Washington againtonight, right, and then you know,
off we go. But I mean, there's no stopping it. I
mentioned a thousand times, you know, and it doesn't We haven't heard any

(31:17):
any update about Royce Lewis, butI think they're just really missing him in
that lineup. But you know, when you're giving up how many runs they've
given up over the weekend. Andthen they had the problem with Duran in
the ninth inning when he was questioningthe he says, I don't call the
pitches, you know, I justthrow them. And I'm an employee.
I'm an employee. Yeah, Isaw the highlight. He threw a hanging

(31:37):
curveball one that just didn't move. And you know he's got that one hundred
and one mile an hour fastball andthat hurt a lot, that one.
That one seemed to send them reelinglosing a game like that. So obviously
you know the whole cliche. Butit's hard to imagine the streakiness of this
team on both sides has been mindboggling. I mean, for a team

(31:59):
to go on on that twelve gamewinning streak and winning how many and then
they have these five six game losingstreaks that could follow that immediately, And
how about finding an even ground here, guys, and play some good baseball
as we go into Memorial Day andand and figure it out, because right
now without getting that pitching, thatconsistent pitching, they're in trouble. Getting

(32:21):
back to the Wolves, we've beenreminiscing quite a bit about two thousand and
three, two thousand and four,it was the only other time the Wolves
franchise won a game seven in aplayoff series. They beat Sacramento. A
matter of fact, I think theysaid it was twenty years to the day
when the Wolves beat Denver is whenthey KG and Company beat the Nuggets.
Did did you ever have KG andRosen sports? So? Yeah, did

(32:45):
okay? And what was he liketo he was, I have a picture
actually in my photo thing. Hecame down with Sam Mitchell and I was
co hosting with Michelle Tafoyer at thattime. We had a show and and
Wayne Castrowski was doing a taste ofwhatever, and KG came down and put

(33:05):
the chef's hat on and apron andwhatever, and you know, had a
good time well, that chef's hadon. He must have been about eight
eighteen. Also, he did comedown and in fact I ran into another
guy one of my favorite sports Sundayshows. They had a shot of him
the audience and Junior Jr. Riderwas in town and I had a show
I had. I called him thebad Boys of Sports. The three guests

(33:28):
I had that night were Jr.Rider, Jack Morris and Warren Moon.
This is after the Warren Moon incidentwith his wife member that was just made
big headlines and Jr. Was Jr. He could not have been nicer that
night. I mean he was withall the you know, I think mostly
the crowd he ran with, andyou know he got himself in a lot
of trouble with all that. ButI remember he used to come to my

(33:50):
restaurant. He was he was sweetas could be and treated the staff really
professionally. And I didn't get achance to see they say hi to him
the other night. But it wasrunning of that and Barkley with all the
hull of the boloo about Barkley forgettinghe was actually in the Twin Cities just
a few years ago. He washere also, I think in when we
opened up our restaurant, because hecame down to the Rosan's restaurant and was

(34:15):
really nice with the staff as well, and he was, you know,
he'd like to he'd like to havea few cocktails and have some fun.
But that was I think he mayhave been playing with Phoenix at that time.
I think he was still playing basketball. He wasn't, you know,
in the the announcing game at thatpoint. It was a long time ago.
But yeah, kg uh, yeah, he's looking for some restaurant recommendation.

(34:36):
I saw. Don't get me involvedin that again. I had a
whole other thing. But yeah,kg would uh, you know, he
was during that whole year, andI'd give him some good natured craft during
that time, because you know,he the bigger, the bigger. The
moment got, you know that thenational people wanted him. And I said,
hey, kg Man, you're bigtime in me, you know,
and all that kind of stuff. And he wanted to make sure I was

(34:57):
okay, and he just called meRose all the time, and I say,
yeah, we're good, We're good. I just want to make sure
you know that you haven't forgot aboutthe little people here is on your way
up to gett the MVP. Itwas it's all good. What a warrior
he was. There was a noteon the Vikings somebody, and I think
it was one of those insiders that'syou know, fairly plugged in and respected,

(35:21):
and he said that he he's learnedthat the Vikings have a step by
step plan try to get McCarthy readyfor week one and if he does,
if he if he accomplishes what theywant to accomplish in each step, that
there's no reason he couldn't start weekone in the upcoming National Football League season.

(35:45):
What do you think the change? You do? You think they have
that plan in places? Would thatbe their ultimate goal? They have a
plan in place. I think Kyosi'stalked about it, whether or he's showing
his hand, you know, whoknows they have a plan in terms of
his development and and you know, learning the playbook, learning the system,
learning the idiosyncrasies of his receivers andthe calls and everything that's involved. You

(36:07):
know, he's a pretty heady kid, and I think, you know,
playing coming from a big time programlike Michigan, even though he didn't have
to throw the ball a lot.You know, on Harbaugh talk glowingly about
him of course, as far asbringing him along and getting him game ready,
I would still be very surprised ifhe started Game one of the season
against the Giants in New York.I just it feels as if at twenty

(36:29):
one they brought in Sam Donald. He's got a lot of you know,
he's got a lot more game experience, obviously because McCarthy's got none. But
I think they paid Donald is,you know, to be come in here
and be that guy. And Idon't know whoever, I was listening to
Pa this morning or something, hewas speculating that this isn't the suggest that
if things, you know, iflet's say Donald gets nicked up a little

(36:51):
bit, that's not to suggest thatMcCarthy they might put Nick mullins in at
that point, you know what Imean. I mean, if they don't
feel that that McCarthy is ready,I mean, really they don't want to.
They want to put him in thereand hurt his chances. You know,
Nick mullins has got a lot moreexperience, and I think they feel
comfortable enough if if need be,with the third quarterback situation, and he
may be the second quarterback to startthe season. Who knows, Anne then

(37:15):
a good question. I mean,as Mulo's ahead of Jaron Hall, I
assume he is, but we don'tknow. I mean, we have that's
what we have the preseason and trainingcamp for. But I don't think McCarthy.
I mean, I think every fanprobably listening without knowing what they're going
to get with Sam Darnold and justlooking at his kind of checkered early part

(37:35):
of his career and how he's bouncedaround and you know this is but certainly
a much better football team that he'swith right now than he's ever been with
before. And he can throw afootball, no doubt about that. But
he's got can he can he consumeeverything that KOC wants from him. But
i'd be surprised if McCarthy started agame. One I saw him when they
released the NFL schedule after taking outyou know, a closer look. I

(37:58):
think I saw where the New YorkFootball Jets have at least six and maybe
eight primetime games. And obviously that'stwo reasons. One is Rogers and the
NFL is probably delighted he's in NewYork because it's the biggest market in the
country. So you combine they missout on last right, so you combine
those two together. Did I seethis too, other than I think that

(38:22):
every team plays a Thursday Nike, right, Yes, so the Vikings will
play at Thursday Niking. That's obviouslya night game. They also play in
London, right, that's an athirty start. I thought I heard every
other game as a noon start. Is that correct? It is correct?
Every single game they don't have.Yeah, I love it. I mean
I too, Actually I do too. I think as of now, I
mean I you know, there's alwaysa chance that could flex a game,

(38:44):
and we know that how that workslate in the season if they're competitive enough.
But right now the networks are lookingat the Vikings as No, we're
just you know, we're going togive you the the C team when it
comes to announcing, we ain't cangive you. Tom Brady, you know
you're going to be the CE teamand you're gonna play all these new games,
not every other game, most ofthem. Most of them are.

(39:06):
But did you mention the Monday nightgame against the Bears and Monday Night or
too? Yeah? And then weeksixteen they play at three o'clock at Seattle.
Okay, that obviously a week wellSeattle, we don't know the time.
Yet Seattle is at one o'clock gameout there, so that's that makes
sense, but almost all but there'sno holidays. There's no holiday games this
year for the Vikings. I meanthat's you know, that tells you something
as well. There's no Thanksgiving game, there's no Christmas game. There's no

(39:28):
Christmas Eve game, Thank the Lord. Yeah, I kind of like sitting
back on the holidays at home withthe family by the Christmas tree. That's
great, thanks, yeah, greatat the dinner table. Why don't you
guys like that? Don't you likespending time with your families? I love
it. I love spending time withmy families. Is why I don't want
the Vikings to be playing what dowhat do you mean I have to work?

(39:49):
Oh what a bad break? Yeah, you wanted to be Vikings as
you control supervisor. I really don'twant you always know your you always know
your kiddies are going to be onthanks especially this year. Tenneby. There
was a time when I was doingVikings Family. I remember that I went
to Doug Western and said I waslistening to a fan line, and Doug

(40:10):
said, yes, it doesn't soundlike common likes doing it, and he
said he doesn't, then why areyou making him do it? They pulled
me off it just like that.If I would have known that, I'd
have been more miserable doing it.Just say you hate doing it, and
maybe you'll maybe he'll take you off. You have to do it. I
ain't doing it. I just don'tlike the impact that has my schedule.

(40:30):
Yeah, it's funny stuff. That'shard anywhere any time. Yeah, so
we have the Vikings do it.But in summery they do have the vast
majority of the games are doom games, including the opener against the Giants at
the New Jersey Yeah, which willbe here before you know it. PA

(40:52):
said about fifty times on the showthis morning that his betting money is on
old Sam Darnold has an arm playingthe entire season unless a major injury.
Is that is that Tenneby? Doyou think that's Pa trying to throw us
off the scent? No? Ordo you think he really believed sorry,

(41:14):
because you know Tennebe will do thatnow, there were no reason to say
that, he us, he said, though I heard that part. He
said, this is just me talking. This is zero inside information. He
that was his disclaimer. Uh,this is just here's here's what I'll tell
you. Host. I'm going topredict he starts Week one. Wow,

(41:37):
you're going just total open. Well, and it's because this is what I
here's here's how I feel about it. It's like you drafted the guy because
you think he's the franchise quarterback. You want to get the most years out
of him on the playing field. One, he's under that rookie contract.
Now if he's completely not ready,if he's I know he's twenty one,
but if he's not ready to startthe season, I'm scratching my head and
say, maybe you picked the wrongguy. He was the he was the

(41:59):
youngest off to eligible quarterbacks in thedress right. It's I know it's the
college to the NFL game, butit's still playing football. You're throwing your
catching blocking. There have been alot of other quarterbacks that have started Week
one as a rookie and have donepretty darn good. And well, the
kid down in Houston, well cJ. Stroud was. I mean,
I'm saying more of the exception tothe rule. But you look at Bryce

(42:20):
Young not not the great football team, an awful football team. And now
we're hearing all these glowing reports abouthim already with a new coach and new
maybe a new system, and he'salso a year two and he got his
baptism last year. How many ofthe rookie quarterbacks are going to We know
Caleb Williams is going to start,Is Jade and Daniels going to start day
day one? What's his name?Uh? Uh? The kid from North

(42:43):
Carolina, Drake May? Is hegoing to start day one with New England.
I mean it's we'll see how theserookie quarterbacks flush out and if they're
going to have that opportunity, I'mwarning to well, I'm starting right away.
Buyer beware. I say that it'sI mean for every CJ. Stroud
kind of ascension that that he had. I don't remember his stats early in

(43:07):
the season, but I mean,I think no one has more pressure on
on the Caleb Williams uh to comeout because they have they don't really have
a backup plan for a quarterback comingout of USC And you know, I
watched enough of his games. He'scertainly got a ton of talent. But
you're gonna tell me that he's notgoing to have some growing pains, And
that's that's the risk of Bears, you know, are going to have to

(43:28):
take because they they don't feel likethey're gonna you know, they want to
play second fiddle of the Lions oranyone else, the Packers or anyone else.
But to start that kid day oneand have expect him to play at
that high level. Well, askinga lot for any rookie quarterback. And
and CJ. Stroud proved you know, pretty much everybody wrong last year.
But it doesn't always happen that way. You heard it here first. J

(43:49):
J. McCarthy will spit week oneand he's going to be brilliant. That
don't bet I thinks that he willstart week one. And how's another one.
If he does, that's a greatsign. That means he's that good
barring us Darnald injury. If hejust won the competition, that's a great

(44:12):
thing. That's and that's what he'lldo. Interesting how they how about this
one? They do analyze that becauseit's mostly going to be in practice and
in not not that much in preseason. You're going to see a lot with
him certainly not gonna be playing withJustin Jefferson in the preseason or you know,
Aaron Jones or the you know, the line. So here's another one.
The most expensive backup quarterback and Profootball this year will be Kirk Cousins

(44:36):
because Pennock starts Week one and atlast. Okay, that's ridiculous that I
was just saying, saying that itis coming off a pretty severe achilles injury.
You're right, yeah, on hisplat leg. Yeah. I saw
the comment today that he made thatif the Super Bowl was today, he'd
go be ready to go. Doyou have a ticket or how would he

(44:59):
get there? The question is willhe start when he comes here to town
by a week whatever that is.It's late in the season. Here's another
prediction for you. The roar hasbeen restored. You are about average.
No room for air this year.Today, I've got all it's conventioning to
see how the Lions react now thisarea, they're gonna they're the hunted.

(45:21):
Now there. I have another prediction. The Kansas City Chiefs will win the
AFC West. You are about Here'sanother. It won't be going back to
the Super within the next five years. Tennebee will once again have an experience
that has none that is not unlikea PGA golf pro. If you I
gave you five years to could youplease shoot us seventy four again in the

(45:43):
next I can never golf again.I will. How is the rehab going
slow? What happened? It's gotsome soft tissue injury. I tried,
I tried to. Uh. Idid golf with Samson on Saturday and a
par three course. And the pain. Where's the pain? Right in my
thumb wrist area? Oh, notyour elbow. It's right at contact too,
which isn't that fun? It's fineup until contact. Yeah, that's

(46:06):
kind of a major part of it. Yeah, unfortunately, Well I gotted
it out though. Yeah, wellyou gutted it out. That's what's important.
Good for you. So tomorrow nightit starts, Yes, it does
well, continues continues. Is isthe tap seven or seven thirty? I
mean seven thirty seven thirty? Yeah, I probably right. Yeah, but

(46:30):
there's no other game that's right? There is it'll be close to it.
It's usually it's just seven thirty five. There's no game before that's right,
that's it. So last two standingin the West. Yeah, seven thirty
tap. Yeah, that's good.I was looking at ticket prices and flight
prices that it might actually be thesame price to fly to Dallas for games
three and four. Then it willbe to buy tickets games one and two

(46:50):
here. Oh it's going to becrazy. Yeah, I'm sure the ticket
demand is secondary market. Are thereare there any tickets available? Oh?
What about break? I can't smetin a small fortune. I'm going to
say, you know what I'll do. What if I just gave you two
tickets? I do I'm in Yeah, I'll take them. I don't want

(47:10):
to ask. One of the testsI was like that was I don't have
them. I don't want to drivedowntown. How many playoff games have you
seen in your life, Leo Sampson. They've never seen one once. I
don't have to ticket them. Idon't have tickets. No, I really
don't. I just I literally donot have tickets. You can make You
can make memories with those kids.Yeah, and then think about walking down

(47:34):
or up to your seats and goingto These people are standing in front of
you. They have to stand untilthey all score. So enjoy yourself.
We'll see you tomorrow for the gametomorrow, Kenny, thanks for having me
you as well. We're back tomorrowtwelve noon. Big ticket. J G
there next right, you're in thefan god By, I got that.

(48:06):
