talked about the vikings. But tome, I think a lot of it
has to do with the expectations whenthey have been now this is this year
is not that case. The expectationshave been pretty sky high, or they
surprised everyone and then they've gone inas favorites. I mean, there's been
a bunch of times they've been favoritesin playoff games and we know what's happened.
So I think it's just a kindof this shivering feeling that goes up

and down your spine. If you'rea sports fan, minsot a sports fan
that well, there's we don't We'renot going to have nice things happen.
And I try to approach that alittle differently, maybe because of where I'm
at in my life and my career. I'm excited about the game tonight.
I mean I try to say tomyself, Look, if you've been if
you as a fan have been supportingand enjoying this basketball team this year,

whether just watching it on television,maybe going to an occasional game, whatever
the case may be, this iswhat you been waiting for. I mean,
you have an opportunity to win thishome game tonight and make it seven
a game seven against Denver talked aboutthe Twins in eighty seven to ninety one

doing the same thing. A grantedboth those times they had both those games
at home. But I, asTennis said earlier, I don't know if
home court means certainly hasn't been theheck of a lot in this series.
Yeah, certainly, you know,Minnesota we know is one. So I

We know how good Joker is.We know you know, you can come
up of a thousand different ways ofhow the Wolves should be attacking them tonight,

aspect to it. There's how thereferee is going to be calling the game.
But I just think from a fansperspective, my advice, just as
Mike Ty said, and enjoy theseason, enjoy the moment because nothing is

guaranteed. Even to get this farnext year again, even pretty much probably
with this pretty much the same team, Denver might be just that good.
I mean, they are the defendingchampions. They've shown their metal. They've
surprised me with being as hungry asthey are after being down to nothing to
come roaring back the way they did, and that says something about their management.

The organization, the players, andnot just the MVP. But so
what I think Minnesota has a lotto be proud of and what they've done
this year, and you have achance tonight. I mean, they're they're
they're there. I know it's God'smakers and they want action on both sides.
But the Wolves are two point favoritesand blah blah blah. But I
just I mean, I'm excited aboutthe game, that's all. I guess.

All I'm saying is that I'm I'mexcited about the game. If they
lose, they go out, mayprobably watch Denver play Boston in the NBA
Finals. I don't know, thensee what happens. But it's not a
question of giving up or or havingthis fatalistic attitude about it. I think
they can go out and play theirsocks off and give them a hell of

a run tonight. Why shouldn't they. I don't have shooting percentages for each
game in front of me, butit just feels like in those first two
games, almost anybody in Wolves uniformmade whatever they saw and they were just
knocking down shots. And then sincethen, when it's got a little tighter

and you need to make we sawespecially that last game. There were some
opportunities for support put looks on threesand twos, and they just weren't going
on them. And is that justbecause that's how basketball is is sometimes they
go in, sometimes they don't.Is it little? Is there? You
know? Because the pressure is offenlyratcheted up now? And is it like
not that they're I don't like usingthe word choke, but because the intensity

and the importance of every shot sometimesa little harder to play loose. I

but make them cover you. RudyGobert has been you know, I think

think you got to get him theball, more opportunities to score, maybe

role players have to do things,have to have to help ant and have

this series, shockingly on what theywere able to do in Denver in the
first two games, especially Game two. Would it look like when Jocis were

of humor about it. But youknow, I think he was right and
they made the adjustments, and kudosto them, and you know, and

when you have a game like hedid the other night, where like I

but to dominate that many aspects ofthe game as well as as as
much as he did, and theassortment of moves that he has and just

we know the whole story. ButI again, it's it's a clean slate
tonight. You just go out there. And what they haven't done really at
Target Center in this series is getthemselves, you know, a substantial lead
where Denver might have to switch thingsup a little bit more or change their
strategy. The Wolves have led byfour, maybe five. I can't remember

what their biggest lead has been herein this series at home, but it
hasn't been much. And so whenyou're playing from behind, or you've had
those stretches where you just everything justdries up and you can't make a shot,
you can't make a stop. Allof a sudden, you look up
the scoreboard. They're down by eight, they're down by ten, and you're
swimming upstream the rest of the night, and Denver's is really good. They
smell blood when that happens. Andthat's where Minnesota has to I think my

way of thinking just to uh toput some pressure on Denver tonight by getting
themselves a decently not that you know, we know that's a game of runs,
but you make them earn it.That's what I'm trying to say,
make them earn it. So I'mgonna get forward to it. I have

just for argument's sake, wolves loosetonight or they lose, they win

the night and they get eliminated byDenver. Right? Do you view this

Where would you categorize? I wouldsay really good season. I think
had they lost We've talked about thisbefore. Have they lost to Phoenix in

six games and having the number oneseed most of the regular season, have
they lost that series? Instead?They swept them. They've won two games
of this series against Denver. SoI think it's been a really good season.

in particular in disappointing fashion, Butyou know, I think I do
believe that there's a process that goeson, and I think maybe the Wolves
might be just a year behind thatcurve overall where they can you know,
I mean, I'm really but theonly big roster change I think we'll see
next to Kyle Anderson's not going tobe back, and I whether they go
get a Darius Garland. There's alot of rumors about potentially how they could

fill that role financially, and youknow, I think players will will want
to come here now because they seewhat's going on in Minnesota, but you
know, not that they can affordmany more moves. But I think overall,
i'd be I'm saying I'm satisfied,but I think it's been a very
good season, especially after winning andsweeping Phoenix with their three superstars and when
to look at it that way inthe first round, that was a real

think if they are playing, ifthey're playing okay see right now in this
in this round and had a twonothing series late and lost it, I
might be might be a different answer, but until otherwise proven. I mean,
Denver's defending champs, and they they'refilling the part right now. They

look every bit the part of avery confident team that wants to defend its
title. My other question would befor you, and this is the most

they're not competitive, and now thatthey just have to kind of lick their
wounds and go and they play inwhat Cleveland, they go back to go

wasn't at his best. He wentfive and a third six hits, four
earned, Ronzie walked one, struckout five. So, you know,
I even though they're they're you know, they had that nice stretch where they
won twelve games in a row,including seven games against the White Sox,

I think they missed Sunny Gray,and I think as the season goes on
that might prove to be correct.Now maybe not, I mean, because
you know, Ober has been donea very good job. Lopez, you
know, he is just as nothe has not been as dominant Joe.
Ryan's had his moments throughout the seasonso far. But yeah, the pitching
staff and then Paddocks had it,you know, after a shaky outing or

two, if I recollect correctly,I think he had a couple of decent
outings, but yeah, the pitchingstaff's just not there. And you know,
the hitting went on a roll whenwe played some of the oswalt But
now the hitting is just completely driedup. Again. Well, this is
where the Twins aren't deep enough andtalented enough to survive long term without Royce

Lewis. They're just not They're notbuilt that way. He is the catalyst
for everything, much the way whenArise was rolling with this team, he
set the table, he was onbase all the time. He had a
lot of energy put in that team. Lewis can do that with more power,
and not necessarily for the batting averagethat Arrives had, But they just

over a period of time, theyjust really missed his presence and I think
it's starting to take a toll.They just don't have. The other guys
are just too inconsistent. And Ilooked at the lineup watched the game the
other night, and you know they'renot gonna put a lot of fear into
really top pictures. The guys thatare crafty enough, you know, left
handers in particular, who just havethem flailing away at and at off speed

stuff, and you know they stillstrike out at a really high rate.
So I don't know, I mean, you just said it. I mean
they can compete in their division.They certainly will will compete I think in
their division all year long. It'sgood that Kansas City is more more competitive
now in Cleveland will be there,but it'll probably be a three team race.
Well, and stranger things have happened. This doesn't just suggest that the
Twins won't qualify for postseason. Theymight not. You know, you can

always you know that old lightning strikesand all of a sudden the bats are
sharp. And you know, onceyou get to postseason. Years saw last
year, Once you get to postseason, you get two pictures that give you
two really good performances back to back, and you're you're in the American League

Championship Series print here, So itcan't happen. But it's just the odds
seem to be stacked against this teambecause they're starting pitching that they've got some
quality arms, but a lot ofthese other teams got I mean, they've
got guys that are just there theirbig game pitchers. They are and they've
proven it during during, during,and they're doing this without Garrett Cole right
now. So the guy they've spenta ton of money on as the ace

of their staff, he's not evenback in their rotation right now. So
well, and and you talked aboutyou know, they really need Lewis in
the lineup. And what's interesting though, is Lewis is really he's never really
been in the lineup long. Canhe do it? You know, you
know, game after game, weekafter week, month after month. We
just haven't seen it. We thinkhe can. The talent looks like that,

but we really don't know that forsure. Korea was going to be
the you know, best player inthe world in this and Korea is a
Korea bucks In has never been ableto play for the most part, week
after week, month after month anddo it at a high level. So
it's it's hard to know. ButLewis would be the guy they really needed.
I think Buxton to have a healthyseason and play like he's always been

portrayed as as a guy that canreally hit the ball. And then they
needed Korea. Korea. They neededthose three guys to really have healthy seasons
and really produce offense well and inorder to move the needle ever in the
postseason again and they won one serieslast year as we know, but those
three guys you mentioned, Buxton,Lewis and Korea have to be the glue
that the three guys that make ithappen for the Twins if they're going to

have a chance of doing anything inOctober. We saw them, you know,
we saw Lewis or what he wasable to do in the Toronto series
here when you know, target Fieldwent nuts last year and then they ran
into Houston and that was the Texas. Excuse me, wasn't it Texas?
But they played last year and theylost to It was Houston. It was
Houston beat Houston. Yeah beat theylost. Wait, no they did.

They didn't beat Houston, did they? And we lost tonight Toronto? Toronto,
Yeah, Toronto. Then they lost. But I'm just saying that those
are the three guys, as yousaid that that have to be in the
lineup though, But you can't whenyou're not in the lineup. It's hard
to say, well, if theyhad so and so and so and so
with Buston, you know, thenthen he gets and he struggles for a

while, and he's down in SaintPaul trying, he's rehabbing, he's getting
closer to coming back. Maybe bynext week we'll be back in the Twins

while. I guess what we're tryingto say, is the Yankee series helps

the opponents as it was the Twins. Yeah overall, yeah, yes,

you know East is competitive enough.I mean the Red Sox and Baltimore Paulter
is really good. But if youlook at the Twins, the Yankees record
and against the Twins, not justthe postseason record, but the regular season
as well, it's astonishing. It'suh, how one team can dominate another

Division teams the Yankees. We're sureit's good, but I can't imagine that
it's anywhere near what they've done againstMinnesota for well over a decade. You

responsible for putting together the other team'sroster. The White Sox are an abysmal

team. The Angels are terrible.Did a nice job win in two or
three from the White Sox, threeor four from Seattle, and two or
three from Toronto. But all we'redoing is what we're doing is historically this
team working in a weak division.They won a lot of division championships,

eighteen because the team isn't serious aboutwinning. They have a set budget.

three games disappointing for the fans whowent out there in particular. I mean

I was out there Tuesday night,and like I said, I had just
sat down when I watched Jeffers hita home run. Little did any of
us know that would be the onlyrun they'd score in the three games.
So that's the headline. Isn't thatthey've lost to the Yankees again, that's
almost a given, but the factthat they're not competitive against them, that
this was not a competitive series.They barely hit the ball, The pitching

was okay at best. The defensewas shoddy at best, especially in the
outfield. So another indication of whenyou play the big boys, in particular
New York. This is kind ofwhat happens. I mean, if they
had lost a you know, aone run game and Judge hit a home
run the top of the ninth towin four to three or something. Go
hey, they gave a good run. It's it's only the middle of May.

But when you get beat the waythey did the last three games,
it's just a reminder that the Yankeescontinually kick sand in their faces and and
this is what happens. And it'snot just the Yankees, it's you know,
the better teams overall. So let'ssee, it's up to them now
they're playing a you know, thebest team right now in their division.
This weekend they go into Cleveland.Let's see what they can recover and and

figure it out and score some runsand hopefully get Buxton back at least a
defensively help them, if not onoffense. Soon to be Big Game World
champion Minnesota Vikings will open on theroad against the New York Football Giants.
The schedule was released yesterday. Justagain, you know, to analyze each
game at this time of the yearis probably an exercise in futility, but

just your overall all thoughts when theschedules first release, just how you see
it. Do you like the waythe games are portioned out. Do you
think it's a good schedule? Toughscheduling, hard to guess because the Vikings
are kind of in that competitive rebuildmoment. What do you think of what
what you said to me? Myway the early part of the season looks.
I mean, I don't think thatthe Giants are necessarily an unbeatable team

to open up on the road against, but a little tougher than I expected
