Bad common man common then don't showpep no solic plan says as a severit
of broach will fail. Toy,It's time for common man. Common man.
Common then charge the housewives like goingcan what should where we play?

(00:23):
Nonsense? I'd be to man it'stype of common man. Oh boy,
why should anybody aspire to be acommon man? An average man? Do
you realize what it means to beaverage? That means you're the best of
the lousiest and the lousiest of thebest. Now, if we demand more

(00:45):
and more for producing less and lesswhile they have not nations and courage and
inspire and indeed require hard work andmaximum effort. If we deify the common
men while they encourage and reward theuncommon ones, well, the end result
of such a lopsided race, asthat is too obvious to require elaboration.
I mean, it's like colo,who that's a bunch of my working?

(01:30):
Like that, we'll head to abuffalo fell on the road. I think
the weather towards having to spend alot of time in Minnesota. I understand
the weather pattern pick up the Calcuttaclipper, swings down, swings up,
lake front influence and out. Ithink we'll probably have about forty five degree

(01:53):
weather, so it will not bea typical October thirty first in Buffalo,
La. We show let's clergy. You need a peace what for you?

(02:16):
I need apron and for you thatwhat a pro launt pro needs, water
pro wants, water pro needs, multi action offensive sets, sad disadvantage circadian.

(02:47):
This alignment not sick, but wegot through. A dog of the
note is master Gave and shallows right. I've seen enough out of cousins,
Paul put him on ice. He'sthe clown from Brown. He's the fourth

(03:16):
in the north. This is thecommon Man, Dan Cole, and the
grum begins in five, actually three, but five sounds like more than four.
Greetings could afternoon it ak akadak dakdaka act to you and yours.
I'm the common man, dan Cole, I'm a radio dinosaur and the fan

(03:36):
is my Librea tar pit. Somedayarchaeologists and paleontologists will be sifting through the
rubble that will be sixteen hundred JudicaAvenue south and they'll stumble across the skeletal
remains of the common man and findhis cold dead Rigor mortis leaden lips attached
to this Noyman BC and one andfour microphone, the best broadcast microphone in

(03:58):
the business, at least the bestI've ever used. Accept no imitations,
and they'll find that noim and attachedto my cold, dead, rigor mortous
laden lips, and they'll say, egad, it's a social commentator using an
archaic communication device. I'm here untilthree along with my faithful companion, tend
to be. I can't speak fortennant because I think he's a little bit

(04:23):
more orderly than me. I amcertainly uninformed, unprepared, and unapologetic.
And then we turn it over tothe main event, big ticket. He
is poised, polished and professional, along with his sidekick, none other than
the tasteless box of mashed potatoes.Justin guard fast paced program to be promised

(04:43):
today, plenty to get to,including Wolves Denver were one day away.
The Twins went again last night. They seem to just they're winning more than
they're losing. Bella another, itseems like we're going to have to have
a a regularly scheduled segment every weekwith Bella McCauley of the University of Minnesota.
She qualifies She's shot a blistering sixtyfive, it was the tournament low,

(05:08):
and she earns herself a spot inthe NCAA Women's Golf Championship. So
we have those topics, plus acouple of hockey things. I stumbled across
ten to me, believe it ornot, I actually want to talk a
little hockey. So we'll do allof that in so much more, including
water pro wants, water pro needs. How does the rest of it go?

(05:29):
What a want? Whatever happens setsyou free or something. Yeah,
whatever happens will set you free.We have all that to get to,
but right now I don't know whereto start, as always, so let's
go ahead and spin the wheel oftop This is going to come as a
surprise. Golf gang, I'm stunshot, dishevels. What did you should

(06:00):
today? The DNF did not finish? Where'd we play Presswick had wedgwood and
Woodbury? Where'd you hit it onone? Right? If the god how
far from the grainway one to thepin knocked it into fifteen twenty feet right
at it? Then what h twopot par? You've got a bit of
bogie on two par on three? And then I pushed it right on four

(06:23):
for those that know Presswick right atthe cart path over. But there's a
row of like I don't know ifthey're oak trees. I think they're Roague
trees. Whiskey bottle brand, newcar oak tree, you're in my way.
However, the oak tree wasn't inmy way. My ball was still
in play and I had a littleopening and I hit just a remarkable I
just love it. Can you hita low punch on command? You play
it back in your stance and youmake sure not to break your wrists,

(06:45):
and you come through it, andI can get that thing to go maybe
head high off the ground. Andit looked like I thought, okay,
hey, middle of the fairway, let's go, let's fly. I can't
find the golf ball. I lookin the fairway, the fairway bunker,
I look all over the left sideof the rough. I go back to
where I hit it, over thetop of the mound, that grassy knoll.

(07:06):
Can't find it back there. Ispent twenty minutes looking for that ball,
and at that point, now onboard, I'm not gonna go back
and hit another that he's gonna shootanother eighty four. So I played the
rest of the front nine and thenspent like forty five minutes. Tim This
is what's going to be shocking. This is the shock of the day.
I spent like forty five minutes workingon my game. I've never worked on

(07:26):
my game rare. The only timeI ever work on my game when it
gets so bad, I have togo see master professional Craig Warrion, the
teaching pro Minnesota Golf Hall of Famer. One of my co hosts were Tita
Green or I have to say,and oh, by the way, one
of he's Frankie Sappin's coach. Frankie'snot any good, is he? But

(07:48):
I worked on my game and itfelt good. I'm changing tend to be
in my older age. You know, you say, can't teach an old
on. I don't feel the need. And it all happened this year.
I don't need to play. Itook a day off earlier this week.
I think I took Tuesday off.I also know what's today, Wednesday,
No, Thursday. I took Tuesdayoff. I took two days off last
week. I just stopped after nineholes and went worked on again and said,

(08:11):
normally we don't have to play alleighteen and post. It just it
doesn't matter to me anymore. Andit was good to work on my game
because my short game has gotten awayfrom me so badly that I started hitting.
I pulled out the old fifty sixdegree money club, ping guy had
money money? Did I show youthat? I didn't showed you yet.
He had the money sign, thecash sign cash in, cash out,

(08:31):
cash in, cash out stamped onthe club. So there's little cash signs,
Aliver, it's my money club,is what it is. And I
sat and hit these high soft wedges. They weren't all great, That's why
I was practicing, but I startedto get a feel for it again,
then hitting little bumping runs and littlethere's a little trick I want to tell
people. Right now, I'll giveyou a tip. Ten to me,
I can cut five shots off yournext round. Just skip the first part

(08:54):
three you come to and then Iwould suggest take two weeks off, yeah,
and quit. The other one isif you're in the rough next to
the green and you want to hita little pitch as you're standing, or
treat it like a putt. Liftup the heel of your wedge and turn
the toe in and then put aputting stroke on it. That ball will
just barely come out of off offthe top of the rough. It will

(09:16):
it'll trundle down to the hole.It will trundle down. You got it.
You've got to trust it and you'vegot to put a putting stroke on
it. But it's a wonderful wayto get up and down. So I
felt very good about myself, andI'm feeling good about myself, So yeah,
it was good to It was goodto work on the game a little
bit because, as you know, tend to be you never do. I

(09:37):
never do, and pardon upon thereare ups and downs in the game.
So I'm feeling good about that. But I can I give some golf advice
for the uh for the ones thatare very ten to be like out there.
Well now that I've been tend tobe like for a long time.
Yes, I know you're gonna makefun of me for this. Work on
on the range, work on hittingpunch shots, because what happened to me

(09:58):
a lot, you know me,I was I would hit the ball into
the woods quite a bit off thetee and then I would never know how
to get the ball out of there. And it's something it's not as sexy.
It's not as fun. But ifyou want better scores, you want
to be able to feel confident hittingin the woods, punch the belt.
But you got to practice it.You have to practice. I'd unpractice it.
I would just show up and thinkI could learn how to do it

(10:18):
all in there. It doesn't worklike that. I've told you this story
before. My good friend World's greatestirons player, Worlds we just called him.
He used to caddy for Dave Tentis. Dave's one of the best players
ever come out of the state ofMinnesota. He was a Walker Cup member,
played golf at Houston, played inthe Masters, got to stay in
the Crow's Nest, didn't make thecut, but he played in the Masters

(10:39):
back in nineteen eighty four. Hehad some injury issues to the elbow on
the shoulder. Was never able topractice enough to play. You know,
you got to practice a lot.Yeah, play at that level, and
they didn't have the surgical procedures backthen that they have now. So Dave
was never able to take it tothat very next level. But he was
as a good of players it's evercome out of the state of Minnesota and
World's this caddied form on a numberof kings at PGA Championships. Dave's still

(11:01):
good enough without practice where he cango to where they bring three hundred the
best club pros together, they takethe top twenty, they get to play
the PGA and he and Don Barryover at Edinburgh qualified a number of times
for it. So this is sogood about the punch out. So I
think I've told you the story before. So Dave hit into a kind of
a tough spot and world goes it'slike you're gonna have to punch out.

(11:22):
I never punch out. Hits thisbrilliant knockdown, punch, cut fade,
draw out of the out of theout of the woods, and he doesn't
hit in the woods, off andtrust me and hits it right back into
a perfect spot to get up anddown a mapar. I never punch out.
I wish I could say that thatI have the ability and the not
only the ability to hit the shot, but the creativity to see the shot.

(11:45):
That's even more. That's yeah, that's the ability, but to see
it where you go. It's likelike you and I are doing and and
these guys are going, I cancut it just a little bit here and
take it and go over the Youknow, it's just an astonishing it's fun
to watch too. Bella McCauley willbe with us. At one point thirty

(12:05):
she blistered Auburn University golf course. She's one of a handful of people from
that from that tournament that will qualifyfor the national NCAA tournament. They'll be
playing that coming up sometime in lateMay. I think I saw is that
right? Is it? It's rightaround the corner. It's very close,
and I saw the site there playing, but I can't remember. I think
it's something that we're in California,I believe, So we'll talk to her

(12:26):
about that. We've also got thelegendary Mark Rosen coming up at two o'clock,
five to three four, just beforethe top of the hour. Unfortunately,
no purple Prey today, and that'sgoing to break a lot of people's
hearts. We won't have purple preyfor a while. And then we'll talk
a little of disc at lad includingWolves, Denver Twins, and a sort

(12:46):
of other ends, including some hockeystuff. But right now, ten Toby

(13:33):
I'm coming, He's gonna be I. You know, I heard my own
ad there for Arthur Bank. Youfor knowing exactly what a pro wants,
what a brons Whatever makes me happy, says me. Free good, A
little bit flat. We'll get better. Yeah, it'll get better. Little

(13:56):
flat, still get better. Sogood. And then Sga gets on the
bus and Chet's kind of just standthere looking at him, like, what
do you mean? I thought thatwas really good? But he's young yet
he's young and wild and free him. Mom Oh, I was listening,

(14:18):
and I heard my Arthur's Jewelers theKing of Diamonds Mother's Day spot, and
if you'd like to shop at Arthur'sJewelers for Mother's Day, I won't meet
you down there and introduce you tothe no guys, but it's kind of
out of my way. I'll certainlygive them a call and tell him you're
headed there. I will do thatfor you to me for Mother's Day.

(14:39):
You're at that point where kids dothey make cards for mom? Is that
what they'll do or how does thatwork in your family? Because my boys
always made But if I think tomorrow, I'm gonna do a quick little segment
where I'm gonna read some of theirhands because they made you know, they
made homemade ones. Yeah, andyou know when they were younger, the

(15:00):
ones they would send Mom on Mother'sDay very heartfelt and thankful. And they
the ones they'd give me for Father'sDay where they just would just shred tear
me apart. Yea. So it'sit's it's a compare and a contrast,
is what we're gonna do tomorrow. But what do the children in the last
Dave, they said they did somethingat school yesterday? So at least Leon

(15:20):
Sampson made stuff at school. I'mnot sure exactly what that is, but
I did get gifts for them togive mom. Oh, that'll be from
them out of their accounts or youraccount or a joint to come to.
Because your kids have accounts, youhave you laid the law don savings accounts.
Okay, did you make them takethe money out of their savings account
tay for my personal walking account.Yeah, this to me seems like it's

(15:43):
a real it's a real big momentin the lusty household where you're actually paying
for something out of your personal accountfor somebody else in the family. I'm
just I admire you. I'm thisis this is very good. So I
don't suppose I'm just gonna say,you know, your wife might be listening,
and then you don't want to giveaway. That's what I mean said.
That was my bit was, Iknow she ain't listening, So what

(16:07):
they get mom? Get her somenice stuff. I can't talk about that.
Well, your mom's not listening,so what's this's my wife? I
mean, your wife, she's notlistening, but others might listen and passing
along. Would they really do that? No? They I don't know.
I don't want to ruin the surprise. These are the moments where I just
shake my head. Next there wouldbe nobody out there. One of the

(16:30):
chances that somebody that knows you andyour wife and would hear you go,
well, Leo's getting her a bouquetof flowers, and then she would immediately
hear or she would tech weamen sayI know what Leo's getting you from Mother's
Day. He's getting you a bouquetof flowers. I think it's unlikely,
but there's been many times where somethingI've talked about on the air regarding our

(16:52):
family, and then my gal willtext me you or ask me later than
were you talking about this on theair because some you know, she's got
rube coworkers that might be listening,or she's got friends that might be listening.
They come up and bring it upto her. Well, they wouldn't
be friends. And maybe this isa good test to find out who your
friends really are. If you wereto say Leo got her a paper weight

(17:15):
for work, you know, witha with like a you know, a
glass paper weight with a picture ofhim and it says I loved you,
And if they were to tell yourwife that that I think it's unlikely,
but then well that person, thisis a good test to find out who
your friends really are. I wantone clue. I just had one of
her former co workers text me.I'm listening. I'm telling her here's here's

(17:38):
the one. You're gonna have togive me one clue. Is it bigger
than a bread box? Bigger thana bread box? Haven't you ever heard
that old saying how big is abread box? You know? You know
they used to have a breadbox thatyou'd put a low for bread in because
back when you would bake bread,So there was a time where you couldn't
go to I don't know if youknow this. I mean you probably do.
You couldn't go to the grocery storeand buy bread. You actually had

(18:00):
to kneed and I don't mean needlike you wanted it badly, but you
had to knead the dough. AndI need and I need dough, that's
for sure. But you need thedough and then you let the then it
rises because you have yeast, andit the bread rises. You put it
in the oven, you bake it, then you bring it out to keep
it fresh. You'd put it inher bread boxes. They didn't sell like

(18:22):
plastics. Sarah Lee, what kindof bread do you eat it? I
love it? You have the honeywheat, Yes, that's good. My
boys are the honey wheat guys.I'm not a big wheat bread guys.
Got little sticks and twigs and rocksin it and stuff like that. And
then then you put it in thetoasher, leave it into long. You
got a damn forest fire going onthere. We've had some bread wars in

(18:44):
our household because I I just wantto get the Sarah Lee Honeyweat every single
time because I love it much likechicken crispers is all you ever order at
act At. But my wife will. My wife will get like honey wheel
because there's multiple stories you can getit from. You'll get a honeywheat bread
from somewhere else, probably because it'ssuper healthy for you, right, and
then I'll eat it like I don'tlike the taste of it. It's just

(19:07):
to taste different than I want to, Sarah Lee. One, I want
to get that every time. Stopordering another bread. I'm about to say
this on a controversy. That's interesting. Romney. No like healthy bread.
You're just like healthy people make mesick. Thank you, you're getting ripped
right away. Oh boy, howbig is a bread box really tend to

(19:33):
be? It's the size of awell for bread basically, So anyways,
is what is what Leo? Sorry? I didn't grow up with a bread
box? Is Leo what Leo hasfor Mom? Is it bigger than it's
from all three of them? Oh? Yeah, it's just a group gift
from the kids. Is it biggerthan a bread box? No? Okay,
so I wanted to know. Andtechnically it's two gifts. And then
here's another text of them a littlemore expensive but worth it? What four

(19:59):
or five? In? I jokesin this segment already, here's one that
says, even those of us whoare tuned in today aren't really listening.
I guess that too. Well, you know, I sort of have.
I don't think I have a monotonevoice. It might get monotonous where it's
kind of just wa to pro wantswhat pro needs? I'ltoe wheel a topic.

(20:22):
Jet Lag, the guy that wasdebating me about about, uh,
what is it in Denver? Whatdo they call altitude? Right? What
is it? What is it?Yeah? He keeps going back and forth
wanting to debate. You know,I think he was somebody else yesterday wanted
me to work. Maybe. Idon't think it was the same person wanted

(20:45):
me to know because I did myown study with the mushrooms. Right said,
well, all great, why don'tyou go give it to Hartford.
It's like people are taking this tooseriously. It's anecdotal evidence that I have,
and it's just I and I neversaid that there isn't something to it.
I just think it's very minimal becausewe talked about it. Because if
it was a big deal, theywouldn't allow franchises in any of the major

(21:08):
four sports or colleges or universities toexist in the Rocky Mountain West because it
would be too big of a disadvantage. Other because he can't do that flying
in there in the altitude. Theywin all the games. It's not that
big of a deal. Do peoplenot believe in mind over matter? Do
you believe that? I mean, how do you explain? You've heard stories

(21:30):
like this? Two guys Jed andJethrow, who by the way, are
in Denver at a radio station there, and they got a car jacked up
to change a tire, right, and the jack slips and the car falls
on Jethrow. Jed suddenly comes upwith herculean strength and lifts the car off
of who did I say, dropit on? Who was a jet on?

(21:52):
Jethro? Jeth throw on Jed.Guess it doesn't matter jethrow on Jed.
And then Jethro lifts the car upand Jed comes out from underneath the
he's he's, he's about as wornout as the steel belted radio is,
but he's he doesn't die right,he gets some other that's mind over matter
where you get herculean strength. Soif you just tell yourself time zone change
ain't gonna make no difference to me, I can. I'll just breathe a

(22:15):
little faster with the with with notas much oxygen. To just stop it
with the excuses. You're just handingthese teams excuses for not being able to
or you're making it sound even biggerby not only did they beat a really
good team, but they did itwith coming in from a different time zone,
and then not only that they hadto fight altitude sickness. Just stop

(22:40):
it. Already interesting, And whenDenver teams travel elsewhere do they have to
deal with not having adjustment for them. It's just well, it's it's just
so preposterous. Now I have aI want to do the hockey thing next.
I found something that's it raises someinteresting issues tend to me. I
got a feeling you may if youhaven't had it in five to three four.

(23:00):
It's controversial. No other radio showin the country would dare tackle it.
We'll do it next right here inthe common Man program. In the
fan Fan WWE Monday Night Raw comescrashing into the Excel Energy Center on Monday,

(23:30):
July twenty ninth. See the bestof the best is they battle it
out live from Saint Paul. Ticketsaround sale now you can get yours today
kfan dot com, Keybord Calendar.Speaking of golf, Lesson's baby brother Peter
met with master professional Craig Warren yesterdayover Edinburgh, USA. I got a
full report from Pete. He says, I mean, his game's a mess,

(23:55):
right. Anybody that just starts reallyhas no clue as to what they're
doing. Greg gave him two thingsto work on Tennabee. Number one would
be he asked to stop what welike to call him the business the reverse
Sea, and he has to rotateinstead. I don't know if you've seen
the reverse sea, but that's whereas you're standing there, you kind of
just you just kind of just swayback, and you're both knees bend back

(24:18):
away from the target, and thenwhen you come through, you sway both
he's back, and that right legneeds to say fairly firmly implanted when you're
bringing back that club and making afull turn. So I told Pete,
I've been trying to tell you that, but you won't listen your belt buckle
away from the target and you finishwith your belt buckle pointing at the target.
The other thing he wasn't doing tennabe. And this is this is one

(24:40):
that comes with practice, and you'veprobably been practicing it as well. Where
if you watch the tour pros,as they're making impact or just slightly before
it, they're starting to roll thoseforearms so that by the time they're hitting
the ball, it's almost like thepalm of their hand is pointing down at
the golf ball, turning that overlike that. And so that's what baby

(25:03):
brother Peter's working on. He wentto go play Como today with his buddies.
Here's the best part. He's playingwith Jay and Biscuit, and Pete
says he's the best player in thegroup. And I mean, if that's
I always love that one. Ifif he's the best player in the group,
I can't imagine what Jay and Biscuitsgame is like. But I can't

(25:26):
imagine anyone named Biscuit being a greatgolf doesn't Wow. It's his nickname.
It's it's also Buckets. And thenthere are other their other buddy, his
nickname is Bleach because he has youknow, he has you know, almost
shock white hair. At Soublande,he's called Bleach. They used to call
Pete squirrel back in the day,and he does not like that. So

(25:48):
I'll occasionally call him squirrel and he'snot happy with me. But he's working
on the game and hopefully he willget better. Uh, Timmy, can
you do the inside? Is it? Between the pipes? What do we
call them? When we talk hard? I can't remember if we have all
these different opens there they've been doingthe last couple of years. Time to
go between the pipes. Between thepipes, there is a a franchise the

(26:19):
fans learn changing locations, the PhoenixCoyotes. I think we both agree we
like coyotes better than coyotes. Dowe know do we have any indication did
that franchise officially call them the coyotesor the coyotes? Do we know?
Do we have any indicators coyotes? We both prefer that that's what the way

(26:42):
we have always referred to them. And you know, you and I we
dare to take a stand. Wedare to be a Daniel, dare to
stand alone there, to have apurpose, perman there, to make it
known, even if they don't wantit said coyotes. They want coyotes too
bad, because you don't we doTennebee. We don't like authority and coyotes
be danged. If we wanted tobe coyotes, that's what we'll call them.

(27:07):
But they're moving to Utah, toSalt Lake, silly of all places.
And the ownership Ryan Smith is theyoung man's name, or he might
be an old man. I don'tknow what do we know about Ryan Smith?
Where's he being, where's he going, where's he at? How much
how much luke does he have? And where'd he steals? I mean,
where did he earn his money?I wonder if he's trust fund baby inherited

(27:27):
his Maybe he's one of those dotcom kind of a guy's or maybe he's
maybe he's one of those hedge fundmanagers. Do you have a little run
the executive chairman and co founder ofQualtricks, an experience management company based in
Provo, Utah. A what kindof company? An experience management company?

(27:48):
What does that mean? Experience managementjust some fancy name for we take you
out on a hike or go kayaking. Right, they're providing experiences. To
know there was that much money. So he is only forty five years old.
He's young, you know what heis. He's young and wild and
free. So what we get drunk? So what we smoke? We he

(28:15):
it's humbling to have a forty fiveyear old be the owner of the the
Utah hockey team. Well, Iam almost forty five and you're the bridge
producer of a mediocre midday radio show. Net Worth is one point six billion.
Wow, I mean when it comesto billionaires, he's not. He's

(28:36):
kind of low rent. One pointyes, billion isn't that much compared to
a lot. And he's got fivekids, so they're expensive. Yeah,
indeed they can be. They probablyhave expensive tastes. Too. Apparently UH
ownership. Ryan Smith has told theAssociated Press the team will have a name

(28:56):
starting with Utah, which makes sense. Now. They could have went the
Salt Lake City whatevers, but they'regoing with Utah. Their inaugural season will
feature jerseys with the name of thestate on them, with a name,
logo and colors, to debut intwenty twenty five twenty twenty six, after
work done by the branding company DoubleDay and Cartwright. There's a branding company

(29:19):
and other you know, and Idon't think this is the kind of branding
company that brands cattle that is afeather, that is a silk scarf,
and that is a branding iron copyrightwild Bill Bauer. He says, Utah's

(29:44):
NHL team is a community asset, and we want to make sure that the
community has a say in what thename is. So they're going to have
a contest tennabee to name the team. And apparently they're not letting anybody up
with something like the Washington Walrus. They actually have options, options, twenty

(30:08):
of them, and I'm gonna runthem by. So what you think the
Utah Frost get it because it's ahockey team and there's frost and nice the
Utah frost, and there's the Utahice, Utah powder, and I think

(30:29):
that has to do with because they'restaying in Utah, so we you know,
we have powder snow much like blackdiamonds because I think in in in
in skiing, like for us,if you play a really tough golf course,
black diamonds are really tough ski slopes. That's where the really good skiers
go. So the black diamonds. Then there's the mountaineers, the freeze,

(30:53):
the mammoth, and that would bekind of cool because you'd have like a
wooly mammoth as your as your asyour mascot. You could bring one out
on the ice, you know howthem sometimes bring you know, like all
these college teams like they'll they'll like, doesn't Colorado have a buffalo that's on
the sideline, and then the csurams have a ramp. You can bring
out a big wooly mammoth and havethem stalking around the middle of the field.

(31:17):
It'd be cooler than heck and itwould be amazing too. Then there's
the Utah Blast, the caribou, which has all sorts of product placement stuff,
right I mean you could have agreat I mean you could join with
Caribou Coffee, the Blizzard, theSwarm, which has been taken Sorry we
had that here. We have here, and I don't know if that's trademarked.

(31:41):
I don't know if they gave itup, but you might want to
look into that before you name themthe Swarm. Then there's the Hive.
Welcome to the Hive. Nickname likethat. I'll give you hives, especially
where the team plays. If theyplay anything like they they play in Utah,
like anything the way they played inPhoenix, you'd break up hives.
Then there's tend to be the Outlaws, scary outlaws, but you know outlaws

(32:07):
of course will wear masks over theirface, and if you watch Phoenix play,
it looks like they were blindfolded whilethey play. Then there's the Yetti.
I kind of like that, thebigfoot thing, squall. I think
a squall is like a quick littlesnowstorm. Then there's the Fury, the
glaciers, the canyons, and theVena. The Vena yeah you know again,

(32:35):
you know, if I'm to choosefrom those, I kind of by
the way, I think they alsohave maybe you mentioned it they are have
They have a Utah HC Hockey Club, which is ridiculous. Please don't do
that. This isn't soccer. Yeah, isn't that sort of like though,

(32:57):
what they do right now with thein the p w h L Pro Women's
Hockey League, because they're just theYeah, that's right. Well, that's
what I think he's saying, isjust hockey as an option to do it
full time. I wouldn't mind,Just like the Washington football team. It's
different. I'm not saying that myfavorite, but there would be if it
was supposed to be the Utah HockeyClub or the Utah Hive. I'll take

(33:22):
hockey club every single time. Absolutely. Uh. I like mammoth because of
the the the the mascot capabilities. Now, trust me, I get it.
Mammoths, wooly mammoths are extinct, they no longer exist. But haven't

(33:43):
there been signs is that say ifwe can find the right one buried in
ice, we can recreate him, almost like a Frankenstein's monster. They believe
that they could actually take extinct creaturesand and and and like clone them almost
right, How cool would it beto have the first wooly mammoth and have

(34:04):
them as your mascot, and Icould jump on board that team and root
for them any day of the weekall the other ones. I mean,
I like the idea that at leastthey're not going with you know, names
like Lions, Tigers, Bears, you know, nicknames that have been used

(34:28):
for years for so many other sports. But I don't know if there's anything
other than I don't mind Yetti. That's different, right, and you know
for YETI. I know again nowspeaking of mascots, we don't know if
a YETI really exists. YETI isreally you know, as Max would say,

(34:50):
it's synonymous with Bigfoot, right YETIin Bigfoot. If they can't find
a real Yetti or a Bigfoot tobe a mascot, they could just hire
me Sauce, because the beauty ofit is a mascot can't talk, and
neither can Meat Sauce at least inwords we understand, And they wouldn't have
to get a costume for them. You would just have to show up how

(35:13):
he is. I thought that wasreally good. Yeah, you don't need
to deliver the joke. I thoughtthat was really good material there. That
was a nice follow up. Alittle you know, we call punching it
up a little bit. It's likewhen one of the local comics for me

(35:39):
punched up my I used to doa bit where I would say, you
know about waiting in lying at places, and the worst is when you're at
You ever go to a drive throughat a bank Tenney and yeah, you
go up there and it's like, and I'm not talking, I'm talking about
the ones where back in the oldendays, I don't know, I don't
even do people use drash. Theystill use drive ups at banks, right,

(36:00):
but now it seems like they onlyhave one or two lines or three.
There used to be you'd pull up, it'd be like a toll booth.
There'd be like eight of them there. And of course if you pulled
up during a busy time of theday, there would be eight people waiting
in line. And the trick wasto try to decide which one was going
to be able to conduct their businessin the fastest way possible. Right,
It's it's a guessing game where youpull me and go, I think I'll

(36:22):
go to this one. And ofcourse why is it every time I would
pick that one, it would beit would be end up being the slowest
one. Right, you're sitting thereand you're waiting, and you see the
person and they've got that little tube, that little canister that they put in,
that vacuum tube that sucks up tothe bank, right, and you
see them put it in there, and it sucks up to the bank.

(36:43):
If they going, hey, theygot their transaction ready to go. But
then you see the tube come backdown, and you notice that the teller
placed a piece of paper in there. They needed either withdrawl or a deposit
slip. And then they set itback up because they wanted it withdraw slip
and a deposit slip came back instead. Then they send it back up because
they need a pen. And soit's going back and forth and back and

(37:05):
forth. Meanwhile, the cars inthe other lanes they're moving, but you're
stuck behind the other car. You'rethere for so long that the sun has
gone from behind you it's now infront of you. You've had to pull
your visor down to block the sun. More cars are going by, there's
a guy with a mask robbing thebank, and you still haven't gotten to
the front of the line. Suckything goes up, Sucky thing comes back

(37:28):
down, Finally, finally you getup there and you're exasperated and you ask
the teller, You say, whatwas that person's problem? And they said,
well, amongst other things, theybank at TCF and this is a
Wells Fargo. And then Craig Allenpunched it up after I got off stage.

(37:55):
Well, first he said you shouldsend that to rewrite and have them
work on that bit a little bit, but he said you should tag it
with it is get it. Seethat even I have gone to the right
that one genius. That's what theydo in the writer's room in the New
Situation comedies and such like that. You'd be at a big table. They're

(38:16):
just throwing stuff back and forth andback and forth, and then you you
punch it up a little bit oryou tag the line. So do you
have one that you prefer here?Yeah? I stated on Twitter earlier today,
Oh you did, and I'm gladto see you support the idea.

(38:36):
It's not your number one, butit's up there. I like YETI.
Yeah, because you were mentioning themascot for the mammoth. Actual you're talk
about the YETI mascot. They wouldimmediately if you have a yetti looking thing
is basically looks like the the JackLynx, like meat songs, Yeah,
the Sasquatch, you get that. But but it's all white, grayish hair,

(38:57):
big strung muscles. Like every singlechild in Utah that wants to play
hockey is going to want to takea picture with that thing. They would
have the coolest mascot instantly, immediatelyin all of sports in the entire world.
And then the logo could have aYETI on skates slipping because he does
his hate very well, so hisfeet are coming out. How fitting for
their team? Yeah, not beingable to skate well, it would be

(39:19):
fitting for them would Yeah, he'dbe awesome. And I I guess I'm
going to kind of rip on oneof our own teams, my favorite team
with the Wild the I don't reallylike having the inanimate objects be names of
teams, you know, like theFreeze and the Frost, right, I
mean, you know, at leastlike powder is actually like a substance,

(39:40):
you know, but like Freeze justkind of I don't know, it's kind
of wildlike right, yea, whereit's set distinguished thing, Like I thought
the Kraken brand with Seattle was ahome run, you like that Oh Grand
Slam home Run. I think theyhave. It's a cool name. Colors
are cool. Their logo with theS that's got the little the thing going

(40:07):
through it. I think they theynailed everything. Their jerseys are sweet,
their logo is sweet. The name'scool. Let me ask you. I
think YETI would be. I don'tlike a lot of the options with utah
I think would be cool. Well, we don't know quite YETI if it
would, I have to wait tosee on that. Now. The word
yetti doesn't roll off the tongue aswell. That's the problem, Like it's

(40:28):
like, you know, here comeyour yetti. Would they be yet eas
yet easy? Yeah? What's theplural version? EDI's yet E's yeah.
I don't think. I think YETIgoal. I think YETI is both singular
and plural. It has to beright now. Remember I don't know much

(40:52):
about biology, don't know much aboutastrology, but I do know that I
love you, So I don't knowif that's plural. It sounds like it's
both singular around plural. The YETIare coming? The YETI are coming one
it's by land, two is bysea. It sounds like it might be
able to be both so there yougo. It could be Yetti or yet

(41:13):
E's. Oh it could be Yeti's. It couldn't. I would just call
them the YETI and have them.Yeah, that would be very good.
So are you ready for your Yetti? Of course, if they have their
tenmans like they did in Phoenixes,be they won't be filled with the other
teams. Yeah, well that's that'sthe problem with that. So are they
playing at the Salt Palace or wherewill they play their games? That they

(41:34):
have a stadium built? Are theyusing I think they have a current arena
ready. Okay, Now, Idon't think it's going to be as big
as you know, like excell inorCenter. Most NHL rinks are eighteen,
nineteen thousand, twenty thousand. Ithink I thought I heard this one is
gonna be twelve or thirteen thousand. How long until but Arizona was playing in
a five thousand seak capacity college rink. So how long will it be till

(41:57):
owner Ryan Smith says we need anew stadium? I got a yeah,
that'll happen. How long do youthink that'll take a couple of years in
the ye two or three years, especially if they have any success at all
then all of a sudden, it'llbe looky you know, we just can't
do it. I mean I can't. We can't compete at this level if
we don't have a bigger stadium.I wonder if he'll be the guy too
when he's in the stadium box andinvites people up. They got to stay

(42:19):
two chairs, you know, likelike Craig does. I can't have anybody
right to my left or right tomy right. I need space between me
because I get really excited. Sowell, anyway, I my guess is
I think the Yetti, But Iwould have Mammoth second on my list that
one too. Yeah, I wouldthink Yetti is going to win in the
contest. Well, I also forme tend to be if. But they

(42:45):
have this horse racing, I thinkI think I like Yedi better than Mammoth.
Now, as as we've talked abouta little bit by it YETI by
a nose much like's Kentucky Derby. And now I like black Diamonds too.
I just like that because uh it'sreally different, and I like that it

(43:06):
has to do with because Utah isknown for ski slopes. I don't even
know what there, what is theirski Mecca there, it's not Veil that's
over in Colorado. Can you lookup because I know the name, but
I can't think of it. ButUtah Skiing snow Ski Mecca and then and
I'm sure it'll pop right up becausethey have a name for that. Or

(43:30):
am I wrong? Is there nosuch thing as a Utah snows I'm just
going top rated ski resorts, ParkCity, Deer Valley Resorts, Snowbird,
Elta, Ski Area, Sundance,Snow Basin, Eagle Point. I thought
there was something cooler sounding than thatNordic Valley resort. None of those were,
but it's known for ski slopes andblack diamonds are the most and I

(43:53):
think they even have double black diamond. That's basically where it's you're you're it's
like an It's like you're just goingstraight downhill, like gravity can't even stop
you from going, and you justgo at like hundreds hundreds hundreds of miles
an hour. That's But what doyou do for a mascot with the black

(44:15):
diamonds? Is it literally? Ablack diamond is a guy who looks like
a skier? Is it some sortof I don't know. Jack of Hearts
is a one eyed Jack, right, is that correct? How about the
one eyed Jacks. Oh, thatwould be a great name, one eyed
Jacks. Yeah, the one eyesThey should have they should have won.

(44:38):
Why didn't they go with the oneeyed Jacks? And how cool would that
mascot be? And then it couldchange On the road, you're you're the
you're the Jack of diamonds and athome you're the Jack of spades because they're
both one eyed. Right back whenyou played cards. I know you don't
do this anymore because we don't playwith wild car cards, But back when

(45:00):
we were kids and would play povervw ac doucy one eyed Jacks, wild
Ac doocey one eyed Jacks. Ithink the one eyed Jacks is seriously name.
That'd be a really good name forthe Vegas team. Why didn't they
think of a Golden Knights. That'sjust a terrible name, the one eyed

(45:20):
Jacks. And then all the guysin the team could just wear an eye
patch, right, well, youdo night patch giveaway for all the fans.
Well, you know what they're doingin Saint Paul. Did you hear
about the speaking of you know ofpromotions and an eye patch? Do you
remember back in Minneapolis a number ofyears ago, when they passed an ordinance
requiring nightclubs that have live music, they had to provide earplugs for their client

(45:45):
tele just in case they wanted them, because the music can be real uh,
real loud. In a related development, the same Paul City Council is
requiring the while to pass out blindfoldsfunny stuff. Thank you. I thought
you'd think so, why do youknow what you're up to? Well,
you got you got outed yesterday whenyou were doing the old I think the

(46:08):
wild of the are the Wolves arethe best team and we're gonna win it
all. We're the best team inbasketball I've seen with my own two house.
You just want to get the basketballcommunity really hyped up. And then
you're hoping that rug gets pulled offfrom I so you can rub your little
what did he say, you're grubby, rubby a little hockey gloves together.
That might be one of ready. And then you were rubbing your grubby little

(46:30):
hockey gloves together. That's just sogood. Why do we do this?
Why don't we take a break?Top of the hour, It will be
time for a five thy four broughtto you by Cases the Big Market Bias
has a new spokesperson.
