I thought, what a pro wants, what a pro needs was going to

win that series. I didn't evenconsider Dallas to be much of a contender.
I don't know why, but Ijust thought Oklahoma City is gonna win
the series. And then they werethe number one low and behold they they
get beat by the Dallas Mavericks.And when you start to dig a little
deeper, I mean, we knowthat uh Doncic is as good as any
player in the league. He's verytalented. And Kyrie, you know,

he's kind of he's now not thatworld is flat. It's all about

Conference Finals. I don't think Ithink we got a pretty good example of

was self inflicted by the Pacers,especially the end of the game that happened
to Minnesota Wolves fans, Minnesota sportsfans would have been the old refrain,
typical Minnesota sports. How do youmelt down in a game like that when
it's literally all you had to waseither call time out, get the ball

and bounce and the game is over. But they didn't. And it's not
to suggest that, you know,can Indiana recover from that. Yeah,
they did last series and they gotlost to the Knicks early on. They
got a good team, but thatwas one they just cannot allow to let
through their grasp. Anyway, wemove forward because all we care about right
now is what's going on at TargetCenter tonight. And this town is buzzing,

this. I have no I'm notgonna lie. I mean, we've covered

kind of in place, and Ithink why fans have really kind of gravitated
to this. And you know,they have the superstars, superstars, they
have Aunt, they have Kat who'semerging in this what eighth ninth year as
a as really a solid two wayplayer. But I think it's the it's
this collective sort of feel about thisteam. Defense first, mentality, the

camaraderie, the feeling that they kindof represent, you know, more of
a blue collar kind of approach tothe game of NBA basketball, that defense
wins, and that the fans havereally grasped onto. I mean, Nas
Reeds of course, has become afull hero in this town, and Mike
Conley's a fan favorite. They gotthe bench with you know, Ni Kail

of Alexander Walker and Nas as wementioned, sixth Man of the Year.
So yeah, I mean there's alot of elements that are in their favor
that I don't even think we're therein two thousand and four when they faced
a better Laker team and the Wolveswere hurting at that point with Cassell's injury.
I think when Herbiak was nicked upand they were not as good as
LA that year, I don't youcertainly can't say that this time around.

Not to suggest they're gonna they're gonnasweep them, they're gonna win in five
or whatever it is. Dallas presentsits own set of problems, but I
think after what happened with Denver,I don't see them stopping now. I
think, if anything, that's goingto re energize them, especially opening up
at home. We know they've gottenfresh year at home against Denver. I'd

be shocked to see that happen againtonight. To have that kind of performance,
I think they're going to be lockedin and uh, you know it's
gonna be a very exciting start towhat would probably still be a long series.

that's see what the matchups are tonight. But I was through Jaden McDaniels
would start on him. I thinkthat makes the most sense with his length
at six' eight, you know, and and Donsi's you know, having
the ball in his hands as muchas he does. But it's not just
him, it's just kind of theteam defense, you know that that we've

seen with the Wolves. But yeah, he's a he's I mean, this
is fun. I mean they've gonefrom you know, Kevin Durant and Booker

the Lakers were vanquished by by Denver, so they have to, you know,
worry about Anthony Davis and Lebron andthey were fading fast. You know

want to beat the best. Ialways like, I like to see them
at their at at at their best, and I think the Wolves are healthy.
You know, commonly got that littletricky little I don't know if it's
a calf, whatever it is,but certainly didn't seem to bother them all
that much last game. So it'llbe electric tonight. It should be lots
of fun and people are are certainlyreally excited in this city for so many

reasons, and it's been a longtime coming. Both teams seem to have
a little stick touitiveness to it.You know, the Wolves down as much
as they were in the in thein the seventh game, and then did

you have a couple of teams thatseem like, well, let's just fold

think, you know, the coachingmatchup is interesting with Jason Kidd, who
played a lot of course in Dallas, and then people remember him. It's

series goes on. I mean,we talked about it quite a bit with

the Denver series. It's a youknow, it's a series. It's you
know, there are games of adjustments. We don't know what to expect.
The Wolves beat him three out offour times, but you know, Kyrie
wasn't in those games. I meanit was they didn't have the the the
extra players they had now that theDallas has, so you really don't We
know, we've already learned our lessonfrom the Phoenix series. You can't take

anything out of regular season matchups meansabsolutely zilch. So you know, you
want to get off to a goodstart. We've seen teams take big leads.
We know that on both sides,both with the Wolves and both with
what happened. Even last night,Boston scored the first twelve points of the
game. And it really doesn't matterbecause there's always going to almost almost always,

with the exception of a game sixwhen the Wolves just destroyed Denver.
Here it's a game of runs andteams are going to have them, and
there's too much talent on both sides. To have a team go quietly into

They aren't the best food in town, but at two dollars a dozen,

possibly the cheapest appetizer in the UpperMidwest. Then there's the Gary Anderson
spinach art a choke dip. Deliciouslymelded layers of flavor highlights this savoring,
creamy delight serve with plenty of extratoast points. This appetizer is almost perfect
