We had a winner two days ago, Ashley picked up one thousand dollars
on this contest. That makes yougo, I don't want to play nobody
ever. But we've had three winnersin three weeks, three or four or
four winners now because Fallon and Coldhad won a couple of days ago too.
So go enter that keyword it is. It just went off my screen.

(00:25):
The keyword is The key word iscash. Cash. Go enter that
keyword on KDWB dot com and youcan win, just like Ashley did.
What are you gonna do with allthat money? It's one thousand dollars.
I've got a couple of things inmind. I'm probably gonna get my nails
done and then maybe pay a coupleof bills. I gotcha. I have
hope, but you know, thecall never comes, and so I always

(00:47):
lose hope. But I still keeptrying. And it happened, and that's
it. She didn't win, andshe didn't win over and over until she
finally won. Make sure you godo that all right. I got a
couple of things for you. Thisis another big deal. This is a

Wake up and shake up your routinewith the Dave Ryan Show, where we
serve up a heap and help outof fun and good times. We're gonna
be back in a second with Jenny'sbeen on Reddit, what you've been finding?
Well, real quick, before Iget into that, there were a
couple of texts coming in because Iknow on groups therapy, I just said
something about how Andrew and I hadtaken a sex quiz before, and people

(02:09):
were asking me for the link forit, so I just wanted to say,
real quick, it's just it's calledMojo upgrade dot com. So Mojo
upgrade dot com, so you canfind that there. Also right now at
Holiday Station Stories, you can getany fountain or froster up to an XL
for only seventy nine cents, andyou probably have that sitting just in your
change little extra change in your cupholder right now in your car, so

(02:31):
you could go get that for free. In my opinion, at that point,
I love it. Thanks for thatbit of info, Jenny. Welcome.
But coming up on Reddit, itis teacher Appreciation Week, so I'm
going to read some stories about whata teacher has done for certain people and
they just never forgot because of thatteacher that inspired them. There are certain
teachers. You remember almost all ofthem, but you remember the special ones.

(02:55):
You really do we'll cover that nexton KDWB point three kt w B.
Jenny's been on reddits. What doyou find now? You know,
I love finding drama on Reddit, but sometimes I also like finding heartfelt things,
which is kind of not very commonon Reddit. It's a little bit
more dramatic. And so since itsTeachers Appreciation Week, I found stories of

(03:19):
people who said, these teachers changemy life. So I'm going to read
some of them because it's very touching. This person said, I was homeschooled
until the tenth grade. When Istarted public school. The first week,
we were assigned a paper. I'dnever written anything before, and I did
my best turned it in, butit was basically probably word salad, they
described it as. The teacher askedme to speak with him after class and

(03:39):
asked about my background, but wasextremely understanding without a hint of judgment.
He took time out of his ownschedule to get me up to speed and
teach me the basics of grammar, structure, et cetera. And it was
an incredibly selfless act. I aman attorney now and I'm not sure i'd
have even made it out of highschool without this teacher is so great and

(04:00):
this is his teacher appreciation week allweek, so great week for this,
this person said. My freshman scienceteacher noticed I was starting to have a
panic attack, so they wrote mea note to go to my counselor,
and then I left to do so. He was my favorite teacher. I
failed almost everything, but had thebest grade in his class. I will
never forget that man. The teachercan make all the difference in a student's
work, so that was sweet.Absolutely. I became quite close with one

(04:24):
of my band teachers in high schooland viewed him as a father figure in
many ways because my parents had freshlydivorced and I was floundering without a male
role model because apparently the father wasn'tseeing him. The teacher was noticing some
changes and figured out the story, and he took him aside basically and said,
I believe in you. You're betterthan you realize. And the kids

(04:45):
said the sun shine like shine brighter, and the clouds parted just having that
person in his life. And sowhen this teacher retired, he went to
his final school concert and caught upwith him, and then he also found
his wife and thanked him. Thankedher how she kind of sacrificed their relationship
so he could be there for allof these kids throughout his life. Still

(05:05):
wonderful thing when you get a chanceto go back and thank your teacher.
So, if you have a teacher, I'm gonna say, if you have
a teacher that you loved back inschool. I don't know how much it
means to hear that thank you,but it felt really good. The teacher
that meant most of me, likeperson of my life besides my mom and

(05:28):
dad, was my college broadcasting teacher, and he took me from being a
smart ass little blank to being seriousand made me realize, hey, dummy,
you ain't in high school anymore. This is real life. You need
to straighten up, and if youdon't straighten up, I'll throw you out
of my class. This is nothigh school. I don't have to have

(05:49):
you in my class. And thatvery day I straighten up, and I
was the number one teacher's pet.Kiss ass did everything right early on time,
better than anybody else in broadcasting school, I'll admit it. And it
was because of him, and plusI loved it. And so probably about
fifteen or twenty years ago, Icalled him, I found him, and

(06:10):
I said thank you, and I'mso glad he's gone now, but I'm
so glad that I did. Hesaid, or you remembered me, And
maybe he did, I don't remember. It's a long time ago. I
feel like if you were that muchof like like a son figure to him,
he definitely remembered you. I hopeso teachers always. I have so
many educators in my family. Mydad's a middle school teacher, stepmom uncle.
I never had any excuse to getbad grades growing up, which sucked,

(06:32):
but they definitely remember, like there'scertain you know, there are kids,
not their students, their kids, their kids. Yeah, I get
that. Yeah, So thank ateacher. I we talked about this about
a year ago, and I actuallyjust found the email because we had talked
about, like, if there wassomeone like this in your life, you
should send a thank you to them, And so I looked for my ap
stats teacher that I had in highschool because he played a huge role in

(06:53):
me deciding where I just went tocollege, like loved the class and everything,
but him and I chatted before andafter class and stuff, and so
I sent him a thank you emailbecause he was just like such a good
influence and I'm so happy I diddecide to go to the U of M.
I never heard back from him,but that's okay, because I like
I found his email I think onLinkedIn, So who knows if I even
had like the right email, becauseI couldn't find him anywhere else. Like,

(07:15):
I don't think he teaches at thehigh school any more that I went
to, because he also taught college, So okay. These are just some
stories that people had posted on Redditabout how teachers had changed their life.
This one is very very sweet. It says, once on the way to
school, I found a kitten andI couldn't leave it behind. It was
just like on the street and dirtyand stuff, and so I wanted to

(07:35):
take it with me to school. And the moment my parents came to pick
me up, they said, no, you are not keeping this kitten.
Yeah, So her teacher approached herand she calmed her down because she was
really sad and stuff, and shetook the kitten herself and ended up adopting
it basically and raising the cat.And she named him ink Blot, which

(07:57):
I don't know why. Yeah, and then she would bring them into school
every once in a while, andso she got to this girl got to
see that cat every once in awhile. Little. Yeah. That was
a great story. That was sad, And this one I think will end
on this one, but it's kindof sad. But I think a lot
of teachers really really got it theirway and do things like this. So

(08:18):
they said my parents had just divorcedand they shared custody of us. When
I was with my mom, shedid not feed us or send us to
school with lunch, or bathe orgroom us. So we'd show up to
school tired, hungry, and dirty. Wow. My first grade teacher figured
out what was going on, andshe started keeping a brush and wipes for
me in her desk along with lunchmoney. She'd take me aside before other

(08:39):
kids showed up and groom me andfeed me. And that was about thirty
five years ago, and I stillthink about her all the time. What
a beautiful soul she is. Ireally needed that maternal care that she gave
me. He love that. Ilove that too. It is so it
is so sad to me. Youknow when you see like you know,
like the dirty kid or the smellykid, or the kids like you know,

(09:00):
like clothes that are raggedy, orwhatever, and you know, as
a kid, you're kind of likeshun them, but as an adult you
think about, wow, you know, I grew up in such a loving
household where mom was like always fullof hugs and kisses, and dad always
made us feel very safe, andmy brothers and sisters and I got along
for the most part. And thenI think about kids that, you know,

(09:22):
who knows that they're sleeping on thefloor, if they don't, if
they were like in second grade andthey have to take care of themselves and
feed themselves, it's just sad.And there kids that are out there that
are like that. I remember therewas maybe one time my mom like didn't
make us dinner because she was dealingwith something, and but we had every
single meal, breakfast, lunch, dinner made for us. And one time

(09:45):
and I could barely figure out whatto do with myself. So I can't
imagine like your whole life just nothaving a parent there to feed you and
make sure you're bathing and make youfeel you loved and look at your artwork
that you bring home and stick iton the fridge. And that's it just
so sad to me. But asecond grader they don't know. They don't
know any better because they have notever experienced it. I can't imagine what

(10:05):
a second grader who lives that lifemust think, like, oh, though,
this is just the way it is, but they don't even think that,
because that's always been the way itis. Are you done being depressing
now, Jenny, No, Ithought that those are mostly I'm the depressing
one. You're right, absolutely, here's some good news. There's a lot
of things going on the station.First of all, tomorrow Taylor Swift not

(10:28):
seven twenty nine, twenty we'll callanother name for the Taylor Swift trip to
Indy to see her show. Behere if you signed up. If you
haven't signed up, go do thaton KDWB dot com. What is the
keyword for this hour, Jenny,Cash? Cash is the keyword? Go
sign up. Go enter that keywordon kd WB dot com. A box
will pop up. You type incash. You wait for your phone to

(10:52):
ring. We could be calling you. Just say you won one thousand dollars.
Start today on the right note withthe Dave Ryan Show, where serving
up a buffet of feel good tunesand hilarious antics and this song I told
you bitches this is gonna be abig song. I told you, did
I tell you? Fitch Sit,I'm Katie WB. It's that time again,

(11:16):
Dave's dirt on one on one pointthree Katie w b Oh Yeah,
brought to you by Nicolay Law Offices. Yeah. Listen to uh what Natalie
laid down for? Is you readyfor this one yet? Your morning mojo
flowing with the lively banter and greatmusic on The Dave Ryan Show, your
go to destination for good vibes. She's got such a cool voice. Uh
huh, I don't like her anymore. Start your day on the right note.

(11:39):
With The Dave Ryan Show. We'reserving up a buffet of feel good
tunes and hilarious antics. I lovethat. I feel like I've been betrayed,
so the Boss and the Big bosses, and you've heard the story.
I've told it a few times BigBosses. I guess the research department in
New York said, hey, thoseare great positioning statements for your balding show.

(12:00):
We think like it's nineteen ninety seven, so we're gonna have you do
some nineteen ninety seven kind of linesthat are supposed to position your show,
kind of like when you say campsits the cows or bought up bah bah
bah, I'm loving it it.Kind of Well, that's a bad example.
But something's like Arby's. We havethe meat, that's a good one.
We have the beef, we havethe meats. Arby's, we have
the meeting. So basically desert linesthat are supposed to demonstrate what we do

(12:26):
on the show if you live innineteen ninety seven, and I think that's
kind of what it is, andshake up your routine with the Dave Ryan
Show, where we serve about aheaping helping of fun and good time.
But I'm doing it because the bossgot pissed at me earlier because I was
complaining about it on the radio,So I'm doing it. Actually, get
quite up with you here? Isthat the boss yelling at me earlier.

(12:48):
I hate it when you put meon the radio. So we have these
conversations so everybody to hear them. But you know as well as I know
that when we get a directive fromresearch that we've conducted that we've spent money
on, and they asked you toread those slugans on the air, and
I asked you to do it,I'm not asking you to do it like

(13:09):
joking. I'm not asking you toask listeners whether they like him. I
don't care. I don't ask youto do very many things. I want
you to do him as instructed, and you and I can talk about this
after the show. I think thefunniest part I just noticed Rich trying to
catch his He's like, I don'task you for a lot. Don't make

(13:31):
fun of him. I'm not ona treadmill. Me neither am. I
don't have luscious locks like he does. Man, y'all should have seen.
I mean, if you're watching onthe webcams earlier when this happened, you
might have seen it. But Dave'sface went from the heye o s I'm
in trouble. Yeah. I gota meeting with Rich and Greg after the
show. Oh really found Yeah?Oh gosh yeah. Greg is our boss

(13:56):
boss as a boss boss, sowe start packing up. I want to
thank all the people who have beenlistening for over the years. I want
to thank you, whether you've beenhere for a long time or a little
time, Thank you for listening. Are we getting ready for Jenny in the
Morning, Zoo Jenny in the Morning. Zee's inspiring? You know whatever,

(14:16):
thanks for being here, and anythingelse you want to say to the twin
Citney Baby, this is my favoritebecause she's so inspiring on this. Drake
still owes me one thousand dollars. How about I say that? How about
get over that? Well it's athousand. I would not either, to

(14:39):
be fair, I've been likes onlymoney into the keyword. You'll want him
money. You don't get to thekey word. Keyword. What is the
keyword, Jenny, all right, cash is your keyword. Keanu Reeves is
totally down for teaming up with SandraBullock for Speed three. Speed one was
a hits two not so much, and they're talking about doing Speed three.

(15:03):
Here's Kiana reach. Yeah. Imean I think we knock it out of
the park. But I think whatit is is, I'm on where we
Saint Martin. The boat has cracked, stumble off the boat and you just
pull up and you go, whatwere you thinking? I would probably watch
it. Do you like Reba McIntyre. I do. I used to watch
the show that she did, TheLittle Family Show, and that was on

(15:24):
the CWO. I guess what. No, I'm not a fan, not
either. I don't like her fakeOklahoma acts and it sounds just so excited
you rated to me, it's likenobody talks like that. I've never met
anybody in my life who talks likeRiba. She got a new sitcom now
back with Melissa Peterman and rex leynmy boyfriend, and wonderful, wonderful cast
and crew. We had such agood time doing the pilot. We can't

(15:46):
wait to go back. The reasonI'm not excited about this because this is
supposed to be on NBC. NBCis cutting the budget for a lot of
their primetime shows like Chicago Fires, one of my favorite shows. Three of
the main characters have left this season, and then like every other episode and
a bunch of people are missing.Like imagine every day of this week,
one of us, one of me, You, Jenny, Dave were missing.

(16:07):
That's just that's so it's yeah, but they have the budget show you
don't have to wear Steve oh,okaybody, oh, Tina left okay.
But they're cutting the budget for thesegreat shows that have been on forever for
this dumb Riba show. I agreewith you. I'm not a big Riba
fan. It's kind of like,uh, you know, it's like working
at Medtronic. You know you're walkingto Medtronic. You never know whether your

(16:29):
desk is gonna be cleared off everyday. You think that it's not going
well over there. Right now,I'm not saying it's going badly. I'm
just saying, if you work atMedtronic, you better have a cardboard box
so you can carry all your stuffout to your car, if you have
any stuff to carry out. Now, that's a joke. I know.
I've been watching that roast and it'slike, I'm gonna up my comedy,
like you have this spier level alittle bit because they're more ruthless. After

(16:53):
watching the Tom Brady roast, thecomedy is ruthless. So I love Medtronic
and I respect him. They're abillion dollar, well run company. But
I'm gonna work in more barbs likethat. You know, like you're working
Medtronic, you got to bring ina cardboard box because you never know,
we didn't need to take your picturesin your plants home. Well, there's
two problems with that. You're tryingto up the funny the bar of funny.
One is that we have FCC likestandards and yeah, okay. Second

(17:17):
thing is you're just not funny. You got there, see that. That's
up in the comedy, right, comedy, thank you. I'm here all
night, Medtronic, you're fired. That's okay. That's second show is at
six o'clock. Here all night, all right. We are done. Have
a great day, sunny today, beautiful today, Jenny. Yeah, it's

(17:40):
gonna be gorgeous all day. Homedude, homeaaby, enjoy it. We
will see you tomorrow for a coupleof things. I want to remind you
that we're going to do the TaylorSwift drawing at seven nine twenty. Also
War of the Roses brand new episodeof War of the Roses. It is
one of the dumbest don't say thatwe've some Dubis on rosenes. I was

(18:00):
gonna say it is one of themost illogical reasons to think that he's cheating.
Very flimsy evidence that he's cheating. But is he We're going to find
out. And also, your keywordis H for cash for one thousand dollars,
so make sure you ended that keywordon KDW bet on com enter that
for the Taylor Swift trip as well. We're done. We'll see you tomorrow

(18:26):
maybe after that meeting at the meeting. Yeah, watch my Instagram and if
you got that box. This ishow you know when either our executive assistant
or Greg the president comes into thestudio and it's like, oh, is
that Dave's computer right there? CanI just get that first? Let me
get that, And I'm like,oh, that means said he wasn't even

(18:48):
allowed to come back to the studioto grab a stuff. Oh that's the
worst. Yeah, cut your IDcard off immediately. I've heard when you
get fired like in like pretty muchisn't any business anymore, not just radio.
But when you get led go,oh, they basically you walk out
right now. This is it.You don't get a chance to say goodbye
to your co workers. You don'tget a chance to like, you know,

(19:08):
grab your stuff. A lot ofthe time they'll be like, we'll
box up your plants and your picturesyour kids and we'll send it, you
know, and it will mail itto you. But you are walked out.
Now is your final moments? Anythingyou want to say because me and
Jenny we're not really what's the wordsensitive toward the fact that this might be
it. They're not really sensitive,so you don't care. Yes, that's

(19:30):
that's the probably the blatant way tosay it. I care because I don't
want to do any more work. You know. I'm with you, Jenny.
I just can't. I have anxiety. I can't worry too much now
that's up in the comedy. Isthat too far? I think I have
anxiety. I can't do a lotof work. Is that too soon and
too dark? I think some peoplemight take it as that way. Luckily,

(19:55):
though, I'm having a good dayto day, so I think it's
funny. And this is his lastday, so he could say whatever he
wants. Really, what are theygonna do? Fire? I love the
way you're so bold with my job. Thank you for what a wify treat.
