(00:48):
at the University of Iowa. Andywill go over there live to that when
Jan gets to the microphone. Okay, that sounds like a good idea.
Yeah, I know her, well, yeah, she's she's always interesting to
talk to. She is. We'vejoked around where I was talking to her
at the Final four. She's said, Now, this was before she knew
she was going to be the headcoach. I presume she said. I

(01:11):
am trying to edit my answers betterin my own head, because you know,
you can ask Jane question and it'salways thoughtful. She's very conversational,
but she can talk for ten minutesand none of it will be boring.
It will all be about your question, but it's not brief. So she
said she's working on that. I'llshow up more training. Yeah, yeah,

(01:34):
it's funny. I don't think anybodysaw that coming, saw this coming
really talking to Lisa Bluer last night. We'll talk more about this later on,
But no, I don't think shethought that she was going to do
this, and I just don't think. I think it's been I think it's
been five weeks of kind of talkingand reflecting and thinking, and so I

(01:57):
don't think there was anybody. Idon't think anybody during the season was planning
for this situation. I just hadlunch over at the station and the the
restaurant on the exactly. But acouple of times I have told Jenny,

(02:19):
I'll meet you at the station, and she's gone to the television stage,
yeah, or the radio sto oryou can go to the radio station.
So yet you have to be reallyclear if you say a station at the
station station restaurant. Yeah, thiswas the station restaurant. As you say,
how you doing, Lougas I'm doinggood? What's on going on?
Guys? You look like you're readyfor another challenge? Am I I feel

(02:40):
ready? I bet I beat thelast one? But am I getting surprised
at the challenge today? No?No, not yet, not yet,
just just preparation, mentally making makinga note. Let's get to the one
at one. Will join Jan Jacksonwhen she gets to the mic one at

(03:02):
com. Well, Kaitlyn Clark hadher Welcome to the WNBA moment last night,
a twenty one point loss to theConnecticut Sun. Clark started slowly in
the game, turning it over someagainst that really aggressive Sun defense. She
also got in foul trouble and hadto sit for a while. So Caitlyn

(03:24):
Clark did not score her first fieldgoal as a w NBA player regular season
until mid second quarter. And nowClark comes up with a steal. Clark
thought about pulling up from three Willtip inside and laid. There are the
first points in the WNBA career ofKaitlyn Clark. Audio courtesy of ESPN two.

(03:51):
So big, big tune in factorhere, obviously on this game and
even on a busy sports night, and it was it was a slow start,
and it was also a reminder, like right away it occurred to you,
Oh, this is why the Feverhave had the last two number one
draft picks. This team is notvery good. Yeah right, There are

(04:12):
a number of things that I thinkwe kind of have to wrap our minds
around that a kind of hard tounderstand at this point, just because we've
been watching her for so long. We've been watching her do the exact same
thing, you know, dominate games, always being played, always being on
the court during meaningful minutes, justlooking like she's head and shoulders above everybody

(04:33):
else. We'll get back to CaitlinClark and the Fever in just a moment.
First, here's Jan Jensen, newhead coach at the University of Iowa,
dressing reporters for the first time asthe head coach. For believing in
me and for giving me this unbelievableopportunity. It's honestly, we're certainly failing,

(04:58):
and those of you who know methat does and happened often. But
truly, I'm really grateful and soso excited. I especially want to thank
Lisa Bluder. She's you know, she's great in every realm right. Thank
you for everything you've done for thisprogram. Thanks for letting me be part

(05:21):
of the ride here, and thanksfor coaching me when I was at Drake
and letting me be a part ofthat ride there and taking a chance on
me at a young young age.And thanks for everything you've done for women's
basketball. You've just you've impacted itso so incredibly. But I really want

(05:42):
to thank you for how you've impactedme and for kind of being part of
the plan all those years ago,and for believing in me, preparing me,
helping me fan this dream and nowto make it a reality. Thank
you, and I love you.I also want to thank Jenny Fitzgerald,
another one of my best friends, one of the three amigas. I don't

(06:04):
know how many years ago we'd starteda group chat S three and it's probably
Jenny that named it that, butyou know, Jenny has way too often
been an unsung hero, always alwaysbehind the scenes and never ever has she
gotten that I think the credit orthe shine that she deserves. She is
an incredible coach. Her basketball acumenis really unparalleled, and she has helped

(06:30):
me on this journey. She's helpedme and so many moments in life.
We've enjoyed so many fun moments wayback when we started teammates of Drake,
and I'm just so thankful to havehad this ride with you, and I
just appreciate everything you've done. AndI know so many times it could have
been you different times and our paths, So I just want to thank you

(06:53):
and I love you, both ofyou guys, what to ride it has
been. I also want to thinkmy incredible family, my spouse, Julie
Fitzpatrick. Oh man, those ofyou who know me, you know how
much I really believe in Julie andjust the amazing person that you are.
And you've sacrificed your own career comingback and everything that goes with coaching.

(07:17):
And there's no better teammate or mycalm, the steady, the rock incredible,
So thank you, And to Jackand Janey Man, amazing kids.
You understand the schedule and you understandit's going to get even more intense likely,
and I just thank you for believingin me. And you know,
Jack's one of my biggest champions. At Lisa. I don't know if she

(07:40):
had the foreside or not. Shehad me be the head coach at our
European trip and the opponents weren't great, okay, But right after the trip,
Jack said, Mom, you weretwo and zero is a head coach
and your margin victory is well overfifty And I said, thank you all
remember that. But both you know, both kids are really really great and

(08:01):
understand the schedule. And I wantto just mention three people really that aren't
here. They're actually watching from above, my mom, my dad, and
my brother. You talk about fans, they were my biggest and they would

(08:22):
have loved this day, especially ina small town those you were from a
small town boy, it's a bigdeal when you succeed in anything, and
so everybody in Kimbleton, Iowa.I'm just so grateful. I've had so
much support my original hometown of Kimbleton, living in Des Moines from Drake,
such great people, my friends here. I'm just so blessed. But my

(08:46):
parents, they really taught me alot, gave me my foundation and my
brother. Before I ever had acoach, I had a brother, so
I'm really thankful for that. Andmy sister, she's in Sioux City watching.
I have a niece and Hamilton Ashleywatching. They're just really great family
members and great supporters, so I'vebeen really, really fortunate. I want

(09:07):
to give a shout out to them. I just haven't had a really incredible
personal team, which starting with youknow Lisa and Jenny all those years,
and you know, Abby, Tanaiabeen there here, Reina is on vacation,
but everybody's with me, and we'vejust had such a great ride and
now we're excited to do it together. And I think back on all the

(09:30):
teams that I had at Drake Iwas part of, and the teams here
at Iowa, and I want togive a special shout out to those players.
You know, you can't mention themall by name, but every one
of them really has a piece inmy heart and they were part of really
pushing me to want to become ahead coach. And I have had so
many wonderful text from players and Ihaven't gotten to them all yet, but

(09:52):
I will. And that goes forall of our great fans. And my
friends. I haven't gotten to thosetech check because I tell you what,
I've really focused on the people thatcan play for us now and in the
future. That's where my energy hasbeen. But I promise you the ones
I have read have been just soheartwarming, and I look forward to getting
back to those when I just geta little bit of more free time to

(10:15):
breathe. In closing, I guessI'd just like to state that I love
the state and I cannot believe thejourney I have had. Oh boy,
I always say, if God wouldtake me tomorrow, I couldn't have had
it better. I couldn't have hadit better. A small town kid gets
to play basketball, goes to thestate tournament, gets a full ride,

(10:41):
plays at another tremendous university in thestate, gets to go to Germany,
gets to win the German Cup,gets the goat like lesa Vooter to believe
in her has incredible gosh friendships andleaders that have mentored me, meet the
love of my life, and haveincredible kids. And then the last couple

(11:01):
of years we just you know, change a game and it's just been a
ride, And I cannot tell youhow how I'm just in awe of our
fan base and you guys have backedus and the way you've reached out to
me, taken over the reins. It's just not like that. Is not
like that everywhere, and as Bethsaid, its seamless, and in that

(11:24):
way it really is. I mean, there's been a big change, but
most everything has remained the same, and that is that culture that Iowa has
and Iowa is. It's that way. Administratively, academically, it's this way.
I mean our administration here. Ithink everybody will tell you we are
just so fired up and excited aboutBeth's vision, and that's where I think

(11:46):
just internally, I'm so grateful tolearn and grow under her and this city,
oh man, this state. Iknow there's a lot of people that
could take this job, but Ipromise you nobody loves place as much as
I do. And I promise youWe've been working together for years tirelessly,
and I will commit to that.I'm going to work my hardest to continue

(12:09):
building on everything that Christine Grant startedin her vision of this athletic department,
and Lord Birdsong started it, andobviously the Vivian Stringer years, and then
certainly Lisa and it is not loston me that I've gotten to have my
dream job at a place that Ilove, and now I get to have

(12:31):
my dream title, and you kiddingme, and I don't have to move.
I am beyond blessed, I ambeyond excited, and I'm just I'm
in awe that I get to standhere in this capacity today. So I
thank you for all the coverage you'regiven us, and I so hope I'm
part of some wonderful stories you'll getto govern in many years to come.

(12:54):
So thank you, and I believeI'd give it to you or them or
questions, good question? All right? That is Jan Jensen, the new
head coach of Iowa women's basketball, succeeding Lisa Blueter and Andy You could you
could hear right there in the commentsof what a good and interesting speaker she
is. It's why in the Finalfour, the past couple of years,

(13:18):
the lead eight, the Sweet sixteen, many of us who are following the
Hawkeye women we would seek Jan outas the associate head coach for comment because
she just always seemed to have theright thing to say or to analyze the
game in a way to make anunderstandable, and she's just got a great
personality. She does she's such atruly nice person. Iowan through and through.

(13:41):
Yeah, And you know what occurredto me last night as we were
talking to Lisa Bluter over at theI Club meeting. You know, she
was so nice, and it occurredto me, Oh my god, we
have been so lucky to have thisgenuinely sincere, interested, engaged person leading

(14:05):
the women's basketball program in I wearefor twenty four years. I mean,
the media has been so lucky becauseshe's always great with the media. She's
always interesting, good sound bites, and truly is a nice person. She
ended that whole kind of press session, she gave out a bunch of hugs,

(14:31):
sincere, thank yous looking people inthe eye for coverage, and that
means a lot. And it occurredto me that, you know, I
mean, most places don't have that. I mean, you have a lot
of coaches that are really hold themedia in contempt. I mean, look
at you know, look at KimMolky, and we haven't had that large

(14:54):
part, haven't had that in anyof our women's programs, but it could
always be the next person in thatis just like that. It just completely
changes the relationship and that absolutely reflectson the fans and you know, just
kind of the overall view of theprogram. But to have Lisablut handing that
off to Jan Jensen guarantees that youknow, you're going to have somebody else

(15:15):
like that in there, and that'sreally important in a place like Iowa,
I think it is. And justto hear her background, great Iowa high
school player, great player at Drake, great associate head coach at Drake,
and then Iowa led the scoring asa senior at Drake. Yeah, and
scored more than one hundred points inone game as an Iowa high school player.

(15:39):
Murph and Andy Show Live on oneO six point three k X and
O. Back to Caitlin Clark lastnight, who could not have had a
worse matchup to start her WNBA careerbecause the Connecticut son play aggressive, physical
defense and just really get after players. And you could see the us as

(16:00):
she was trying to make and sheeventually, after a really slow start,
does start hitting threes in the secondhalf. Here's Clark a good look from
three. She got it the cursethree in the career of Pitland Clark.
Here's Clark off a screen, getsa look and hits. Clark will fire.

(16:22):
He hit the three the sons theson not sons son, there's one
son in Connecticut. Win by twentyone points. Clark had twenty points on
five of fifteen, shooting zero rebounds. She usually rebounds about eight rebounds a
game in college. Had zero reboundsin this game just three assists. That

(16:45):
number will go up. Some ofthe passes were dropped and she had ten
turnovers. That's where the biggest adjustmentto this game is taking place. She's
going to be fine. She's goingto adjust. This is not supposed to
be easy. This was a toughmatchup and Caitlyn Clark can see the difference

(17:07):
that there's going to be at theWNBA level. If you watch the game,
you can see it too. Here'sCaitlin Clark after the game. I
think just a lot to learn from. You know, it's the first one.
There's gonna be good ones, there'sgonna be bad ones, and you
know, like we said in thelocker room, like we play on Thursday,
you gotta learn from it and moveon and be ready to go.
That's the right attitude you could see. Also, there's video as she leaves
the first half court Eleah Boston, who did not have a good game.

(17:32):
Boston didn't. She struggled really tryingto coach Clark up. And you could
also see in this game that shelooks as she should. She looks a
little fatigue. She's played seven straightmonths, almost eight straight months of basketball
and just getting started here and Andy. You could see the players not surprisingly,

(17:53):
but it was a reminder to seeit in action. Bigger, faster,
stronger. It's a different game asyou would expect it to be,
just as it is when college playersgo to the NBA. Yeah, and
a reminder of just like the theexpectations that are on her. I mean,
she scored twenty points last night. That's a really good game. The

(18:14):
leading scorer of all of last yearaveraged twenty four points. I mean,
that's that's a good game. Butour expectations for her are thirty points a
game. There were struggles though, that she turned it over ten times.
Yes, right, she didn't havea rebound, which is still unusual for
her because still for a rookie.Yeah, and I don't care who she

(18:37):
is, I mean for a rookiein her very first game against a good
defensive team. And that Harrington thatplayed on her, Oh my, that
that covered her. She's a she'sone of the best defenders in the whole
league. Oh she's a tenacious defense. Fall over. And the way that
Connecticut, yeah, Connecticut got intothe passing lanes, I mean there just
really was a rude away ticking. They're a reminder that, you know,

(19:03):
this is a level way above Bigten women's basketball, way above that.
I mean, it's a giant leap. It is all of those players.
And here's another thing. It's kindof a reminder is that I think we
regularly commend women's basketball players for theirattention to fundamentals. They tend to be

(19:29):
better free throw shooters, they tendto play better defense, at least concentrate
on defense in the pre playoff gamesfor sure. And that's exactly what was
going on last time. You couldwatch that game. Men, those play
all five players on that court wereplaying as hard as they could defensively.

(19:51):
And that was not like the NBAdefense. No, I mean they were
hustling to everything, jumping in thelanes, guarding the ball, protecting the
rim, I mean, multiple playersprotecting the room. Maybe they really it
was a team defensive effort, andyou know, you just looked at You're
like, okay, wow, thisshe's not just going to be able to

(20:11):
you know, uh, you know, easily clear the bar here. This
is gonna be this is gonna betough. But you know, I mean,
she had twenty points. She sheshe she looked fine. I think
for anybody else she would have beenfine. But for us, for what

(20:32):
we're used to, for what weexpected, she's just never I mean,
it was so weird watching valuable minutes, like like important minutes on the floor
during the game and she's not onShe's not on the floor, And how
strange was that in the first halfand they're down and she's not playing,
she's in foul trouble. It justwe just didn't seen that before. You

(20:53):
know, you know, you're justlike, what where is Caitlin Clark?
Really? I mean, this teamis playing and she's not on the floor.
It never happens. It also wasa reminder watching last night how much
the current style of play for theFever does not match what she's used to
or how she excels at all. It's not free flowing, it's not up
and down, and at times didn'teven seem like they had sets planned.

(21:17):
It just seemed like, well,it seemed a little bit like what it
is women who have been playing togetherfor two weeks. I mean, they
just got together and they did notlook very good as a team. I
have heard some people. I've heardpeople say, hey, this is really
good for theu WNBA because it showshow good the league is. It reminds
everybody it's not going to be easy. I would make the argument this was
not good for the WNBA last nightbecause I was hearing from people who had

(21:42):
never watched a WNBA game and theywatched like the first half hour of this,
and they're like, this makes memiss college basketball. This is this
is not fun to watch. AndI think it would have been better for
the league if Caitlyn had come outfast out of the gate here and just
made oh, this is going tobe fun to watch. I think some

(22:03):
I think some people probably turned awayfrom the game just with the pace that
it was at and their expectations ofwhat it would be like. And we'll
see what the eventually today we'll probablysee what the numbers are like, how
many people were watching. I stillexpect there were a few million people watching
this game. But it's not supposedto be easy and it's not going to

(22:25):
be and she will be fine.Has their coach what's her name, Christy
Styles? Is not Styles Sides?Maybe Christie Sides Sides? Okay, anyway,
has she been the coach for thelast Christie sides? Christie Sides?
There you go. Has she beenthe coach for the last two seasons?
Last season she was I don't know, your second year, okay, yeah,

(22:48):
And so who is she a goodcoach? I don't know. I
mean, you know at this point, I mean she she was the coach
of a team that landed the numberone overall pick from last year. So
the Jerry could still be out onher, and it may just be clear
that, you know, she's nota great coach, and that's part of
the problem. But Lisa Blitter isavailable. Yeah, three years old,

(23:12):
She's got all kinds of plans.Yeah, she wants to relax. Let's
get to a w c I poolsand spas quickie poll, and then we'll
get to some of these other sportslater in the show. As we paused
to listen to Jan Jensen live overin Iowa City, of these four which
did you watch the most last night, the NBA, NHL MLB, or

(23:33):
the w NBA lucas. Uh,the only thing I watched was the NBA
last night. I did end upwatching the most NBA because I watched part
of that first game, and thenI watched most of the Nuggets and uh
Timberwolves playoff games. So I meanit's a little bit different from the w
NBA. Yeah, there's not completeequity here, although you could have.
You could have as an Iowa alum, you could have gone from the Fever

(23:56):
game straight into the aces opener. How much did Kate Martin play last night?
Do you guys know when I left, she had not been in the
lineup yet. I mean, she'stoward the end of that bed. Yeah,
so I do it while she playedback to the NBA in a little
bit. But first, the keywordwin one thousand dollars now from one oh

(24:17):
six point three k X and Ok x and O's Bonus Bucks keyword,
it's green. In the national contest, it is green. More is next,
including a hot spicy burglary. Nohonors for Iowa high schools, And
don't judge my grandparents just because theyhave a sex Nungeon Mare's brought to you

(24:38):
today by either or Eatery in Patiosixty two to twenty two Grand Avenue,
and it is a patio time ofthe year right now in a fantastic place
to hang out, take in yourlunch or starting early dinner over there,
and just spend some time outside.Beautiful day. Hey Andy, this rain
I'm drinking is called orange dreamsickle.Uh. It tastes what it's orange jeane

(25:04):
or it's rain rain rain, youknow, like the Who song? Okay,
rain on me? Rain? Isit spelled the same way the rain
of a king? No, thisis a rain of a king r R
E I G N. But yeah, they're not paying for this segment.
It. It tastes exactly like aren'tyou an Orange dream school fan? You

(25:26):
know you got the orange and ousideof the white cream. Yeah, it
tastes like get you. It tasteslike an orange Julius like a yes,
yes, it's that good. It'san energy drinking. It's that good.
I've never had an energy I'm gonnaget you one. I'm gonna get drink
give me one of those, yeah, you know, steal it out of
their fridge over there. Do yousee the the the the the des Moin

(25:47):
Airport terminal video they have on theDes Moines Register's website. They've got that
posted up. It's some music underit. It's cool, really, it's
showing the new terminal when it's finallyfinished, which is gonna be a long
time from now. It's nice.It looks very modern, much bigger.
It's not, you know, somuch bigger that it's you know, going
to be mistaken for O'Hare or anythinganytime soon. The one thing that's kind

(26:12):
of hard is that I can't tellwhere it's situated or where it is in
relation to the driveway or the currentterminal or the parking garage. But it
just seems like it could be avideo of taking anything anyway. Sure it's
from des Moines, yes, Iam sure of that. But it's interesting

(26:36):
and it's it's worth a look andit's kind of exciting. I mean,
that's the airport is really really important, you know, and it's it's something
that I think we all already kindof like about des Moines, but we
wish that there were things about itthat were better and bigger and kind of
promises to give us all those thingsit's take a lot of progress. One

(26:56):
more shout out to my school,Drake University and Greg and Cecilia Johansson.
I know we touched on this alittle bit yesterday, but a twenty eight
million dollar donation from a proud, happy, clearly satisfied alum to his school.
Twenty eight million bucks, that's thekind of power you want to have,

(27:18):
right, make a twenty eight milliondollar gift, jeez, and not
to the collective, not to thecollective, right, it's to the betterment
of the university. He's a nineteenseventy six graduate of the College of Pharmacy
and Health Sciences, and I cannotimagine a worse, more difficult path through

(27:40):
college than that for me, becausethat's pure like hard. Oh just chemistry
and physics, the hardest sciences youlost and mastery, oh my god,
that's like all it is, thismath, pmhysics and chemistry like I can
hand out iberprofen. That's about it. Now. He couldn't have made all

(28:02):
this money at the pharmacy at Walgreens. He had to have he had to
have invented something. He founded apharmacy company called g r X, So
he obviously is done, really reallywell. His donation will he and his
wife making it together their donations. Will donation will help finish a major project

(28:25):
that's already in the works on theDrake campus. And that is great news.
And Marty Martin had a smile thatthat thing stretched from like thirty fourth
Street all the way twenty fifth Street. When you think when you think of
pharmacy, though maybe this is justmovies. I don't think I ever experienced
it in real life. But don'tyou still think of like, you know,

(28:45):
I need a price check on condoms. Here at pharmacy, we've got
the young man standing here, theSebastian Maniscalco, where he's like he goes
up to the counter and they're like, He's like, yeah, I can
get my prescription filled. You're like, yeah, that's going to take about
twenty minutes. Why don't you gowalk around the store. He's like,
it's right there. I can seeI see the pills right there, right

(29:11):
there. Put them in the bottle, give them to me. Just over
two percent of public high schools inIowa are in the top ten nationally,
according to the New US News andWorld Report and their analysis of eighteen thousand
public high schools in America. Yeah, Iowa does not look good here at
all. Iowa had the eighth lowestshare in the nation, behind all surrounding

(29:34):
states except South Dakota, where fewerthan two percent made the top list.
Apparently schools there really bad the fineprint. Okay, so the report defines
best high schools as those with studentswho have demonstrated out standing outcomes above expectations
in math, reading, and sciencestate assessments, earned a qualifying scores on

(29:57):
an array of college level exams, and graduated in high proportions. A lot
of jargon there, but they're they'relooking at test scores, they're looking at
college entrances, stuff that like that. So the top three high schools in
the state of Iowa, according toUS News Report, US News and World

(30:18):
Report are Iowa City West in whichis in Iowa City. That's number one
right now, Gilbert and Pella notPella Christian Pella Regular. Among the top
ranked metro schools are Spancany that's numbersix, Anchony eight a m Adell DeSoto

(30:45):
membern and Valley which is eleventh, which, now, well make it feel
better, I mean not really whenyou look at like nationally where they rank.
It's only eleventh in the State.Valley I think has been number one
on this list recently. They goup and down. But yeah, kind
of humbling Raleigh Valley. Kind ofhumbling for the whole State Outdoors website an

(31:11):
app called The Dirt, which Iuse when get into camping season to find
campsites, camp round rt d yRT d y RT. The Dirt has
released a list of the best campgroundsin the Midwest, and the Hitchcock Nature
Center over in western Iowa is numbertwo. It's just north of Omaha,

(31:33):
over in the Less Hills. Theysay it's beautiful. It's looking at the
pictures there, it looks fantastic. You haven't been. I have not been.
No, I think that's that's kindof cool in the Midwest. I
wouldn't think in the Midwest that Iowacampgrounds would stand a chance, But they're
number two, all right. Meanwhile, last Sunday at church soon So Lord

(32:00):
you way, Lord, have youway? Like a shee Jesus greed?
How are you finding? These arepeople now sending you there? They've got

(32:22):
good connections here. Their favorite Howdeep is his research team for church music?
It's deep. Yeah, it's goodstuff. So his phone just goes
He just goes off, and heused to like pause in the song to
reach down and silence it. Thephone actually sounded better. Uh yeah,
the phone was more on key.Today's stupid criminal is twenty one year old

(32:43):
twenty one year old Quassir Stevens ofPennsylvania. Police say he broke into a
home, destroyed a number of items, including a toilet. He smashed the
toilet. He didn't bomb it outafter a meal at Taco Bell or something
important station, he broke that.He smashed the toilet. This isn't Lucas
after the Cheeseball channel, Nope, nope, nope. This is a corossir

(33:07):
with like a hammer or something. He stole an Apple computer and some jewelry.
Police were able to catch him quicklybecause while he was trashing the house,
he spilled a large cost Co containerof Cajun seasoning, stepped in it,
leaving a perfect imprint of his shoe, and then tracked it out of
the house. He left footprints.Yeah. When police later searched his apartment,

(33:30):
they found more Cajun seasoning and hisAir Jordan's, which not only matched
the imprint, they were still cakedwith Cajun seasoning. I love stupid criminals.
Oh my god, that's funny. He dropped the Cajun seasoning and there's

(33:50):
just like this perfect air Jordan printin the middle of Cajun seasoning. One
of those really big containers, whichwhat a pain. Oh God, vacuumting
all that up. Your vacuum fromnow on is gonna smell like gonna smell
like New Orleans. Okay, itis time now for lucas. Let's do
a round of someone on Reddit. It's been a while, someone on Reddit.

(34:15):
Someone on Reddit asked, what haveyou seen inside someone's home that made
you view them differently? Oh,this is a good one. Instantly judge
them. These are some of thestrangest and most shocking from the thousands of
responses. A carpeted bathroom that alsocontained a gun, safe wine, glasses,

(34:37):
a wine fridge, board, games, and snacks. Yeah, none
of those things are odd to bein a house. They it is a
little bit of an odd grouping ina carpeted bathroom. Like everything is odd
in the bathroom, like from thecarpeting all the way to the wine fridge.
Yeah, let me get you somewine. I just need to step
into the bathroom. I mean,is it like a does it? Literally

(35:00):
you have just two rooms in thewhole house, and you now, uh
Hawkeye and and and BJ. Theywould they would keep their their hoots in
the in the toilet. Is thatwhere they put that? Because they were
they were always making Martine Hall.Yeah, was a funny show. They

(35:21):
had. They and they had likea still didn't they like a like a
chemistry set in the toilet. Ineed to go back and watch me some
mash. That was a great show. I love that. Uh they didn't
own soap, like, no soapat all anywhere in their house. The
homeowners were in their seventies. Theirhouse was your typical grandparents place with lace
doilies everywhere, flowers and photos allover the walls of the entire extended family,

(35:46):
and then behind one door, uh, full on sex dungeon room.
Really so that took a turn.It took a turn for imagine the person
that was looking through the house, what do you leave at that point?
The doilies and like plastic wrap furniture, that kind of stuff. Does it

(36:07):
just happen when you're in your seventiesor do you just suddenly think you know,
I want this stuff. I gottaget some figurines and put them up.
How does it happen? Well, after seeing the sex dungeon room,
if you see the plastic wrap furniture, you have other ideas. Yeah,
yes, good point. All right. Uh, my neighbor is retired military

(36:28):
and he has over fifty guns inhis house, gun saves, bags,
display cases. It was shocking tome. Yeah, there's boy people that
are into guns that they could havefifty. I don't know that that's all
that unusual. Pills all over thefloor. Every room I went to had
random pills on the ground. It'slike Graceland. It was like Graceland.

(36:54):
Maybe they're just Elvis fans. Hundredsand hundreds of nutcracker dolls. Every square
inch of space had one. We'vehad a we have a few, maybe
too many of these at Christmas nowwe yeah, the nutcrackers and then other
people give them to you as agift. Yeah, nut crackers, not
one hundred. I think Eddie mighthave like six of them. He does

(37:15):
like them, but he uses themkind of his action figures. Did people
with weed merch in their home?Well, I mean, if it's somebody
in their early twenties, I don'tthink that should be that surprising. Uh,
here you go, no books anywhere, not a single book of any

(37:37):
kind. It doesn't seem that unusualanymore. Yeah, I mean if they're
I think if you're over the ageof I don't know, man, no
books, that's hard to imagine overthe age of forty. It's really hard
to imagine under that. Maybe nota sandbox in the middle of the living

(37:59):
room. There were talka trucks andtoys and cigarette butts in it, and
then I realized they also had acat. Ooh, a sandbox. A
five foot wide, professionally painted pictureof his wife completely naked on a beach
in the living room. That wouldmake me uncomfortable. Yeah, trouble not

(38:22):
staring too. You would try toavert your gaze and it could be challenging.
I think five feet wide, that'slike wider than his actual wife.
Probably it could be actual size. That's just she's just standing there naked.
God who wants a picture naked picturethat big? Zero TVs and not because

(38:45):
of money. Very wealthy couple mayhave two kids, but zero TVs.
Yeah, that's probably a healthy family. Yeah, probably a very smart kids.
Yeah. Two thousand dollars two thousanddollars in a two bedroom apartment,
each one of them missing one part. Now we're such as an eye or
a nose, or a limb ora hand or something. Yeas Buffalo Bill

(39:07):
in the basement? Is this thekid in toy story? About that?
That's your more? Everybody? Nexton The Murph and Andy Show Live on
one O six point three cakes,No, it is throwdowns. Time for
throwdowns on the show. All right, guys, let's throw it down.
Murvanady Show, one O six pointthree cakes. No. Jason Kelsey is

(39:28):
officially joining ESPN's a Monday Night Countdown. So that asks the question which pregame
crew do you like the most ofthe four networks or do you even watch
them at all? I do watchthem. I think I like Fox the
most. Uh. It seems tohave the most natural chemistry. It can
be all over the place, butuh, you know, Bradshaw Long,

(39:51):
Jimmy Johnson, Michael Strahan. Oh, you're talking the whole weekend, not
not Mondays, the whole weekend.Yeah. Yeah, I guess you could
include Amazon for Thursday Night Football inthere as well, because they have a
crew of like Richard Sherman, andyeah, it's hard to keep up with
these but yeah, I think someof it's familiarity and some of its natural
chemistry. But for me, Ithink it's the Fox group I like the

(40:14):
most. Yeah right, I meanit's to the point where I'm not sure
who's where, but Fox's Bradshaw andstill Howie Long and the other. Yeah,
I think I would go with thatone too, just because a familiarity
has nothing to do with the network. These guys have moved around too.
Almost has anybody been on a big, huge hit show longer than Kurt Menafee

(40:34):
without becoming like a household name,Like he's been on that show for twenty
years. Yeah, that's a goodquestion. Worked at Wi and des Moines
or Ames long time ago? Wowhe did. Yeah, it's like my
predecessor. Yeah, I mean justkind of never really. Uh well,
I mean he's not supposed to bethe main guy. No, No,
he does a solidize does Yeah,he's kept his job. So this was

(40:57):
a debate on the Dan Patrick Showearlier today. Would you want a surprise
birthday party? Yes? Or no? No? No, I'm scarred from
an incident in my childhood. Idon't think I'll ever be over it.
I have sad pizzas. Yeah, sad pizzas. I have surprise birthday party.
Remember mom, I'm telling me thatstory. It was funny. Well,

(41:19):
we looked over, we looked acrossthe room and there were no people,
just a stack of sad looking pizzas. And then it hit me,
you know, it slowly hit me, no birthday. Yeah, I'd look
over, I see like fifteen pizzaboxes. Why would we have fifteen pizza
boxes on my bo You're doing themath in your childhead. Doesn't take that

(41:42):
long. Even a kid can figurethat out. You know what, I
could go for a good surprise birthdayparty if it's the right people there in
the right situation. Yeah, Iwould. I would totally be down for
it. I've never Kahala surprised mefor my fortieth birthday. A little bit

(42:02):
by we were all at Coony's andshe brought in a bunch of pizzas.
Isa's birthday today. Today is Cola'sbirthday. Yeah, happy birthday, Car.
She did not get a surprise part. Coincidentally, it's Caahala's birthday today.
