is her name. We were talking about this story everybody.

Yeah, uh where there's a local group called The Next
Fun Thing and it's a new dating concept here in
Los Angeles. It's the newest way to meet somebody. Basically,
go on stage and you pitch your single friend to
an audience. Yeah, and you do a presentation about why
your friend is so great and why they should not

(00:30):
be single.

Speaker 3 (00:30):
And the audience is all single people as well.

Speaker 2 (00:33):
Yeah, I know, I saw single people too.

Speaker 1 (00:34):
So Dre Ramirez she lives in Glendale and she came
up with this idea.

Speaker 2 (00:39):
Hi, Dre, how are you?

Speaker 4 (00:41):
Hi? Good? How are you are?

Speaker 2 (00:43):
Is it working? Are people meeting people?

Speaker 4 (00:47):
I think? So?

Speaker 1 (00:48):
Yeah, I just need to understand, like, uh, okay, let's
say my best friend Siciny comes to this event and
she is going to pitch me, right, so you're going
to do a presentation on me.

Speaker 2 (01:02):
How does it work?

Speaker 4 (01:05):
Yeah? So basically, we spend about a month prior to
the event searching for submissions. So for each event, we
get about two hundred submissions of people telling me about
their single friends. And I go through the list, and
I try to find fifteen really interesting singles diverse different backgrounds,

and we pick the pitches to go on stage. And
so basically we also sell tickets based on your gender
and the gender that you're interested in, so we could
make sure we have like a diverse audience of singles
as well. And when you're pitched on stage, the audience
has the opportunity to basically scan a QR code and

then they fill out a form for each single that
they're interested in. So then the person who pitched the
single can then look at the list of submissions of
people in the audience too were.

Speaker 2 (02:00):
Interested in their friends, and they can pick.

Speaker 4 (02:03):
And then they become the matchmaker because obviously the single
person is not doing it right.

Speaker 1 (02:09):
So Tanya is still set with me. When I said
my best friend Sistanine didn't say Tanya. I just was
using it as an example.

Speaker 2 (02:15):
I can.

Speaker 3 (02:17):
Because I even said that I should go to this
and I should pitch you and I would create such
a wonderful.

Speaker 2 (02:24):

Hey, Dray, is the is the single person that's being
pitched like in the PowerPoint presentation? Are they there?

Speaker 2 (02:34):
Or are they not there?

Speaker 4 (02:36):
They are there, they have to be there, and then
it's worth So this We've done it two times and
each time I did not plan this, but there was
always one mystery pitch. So there was somebody in the
audience who had no idea that they were going to
be pitched.

August thirty first, right around, pitch is ready? All right?

Speaker 1 (03:02):
It is the latest dating trend where you PowerPoint your
friend that's single and tell everybody why.

Speaker 2 (03:07):
They should be with you. I love it, Dre. Are
you single?

Speaker 4 (03:12):
I am not single now. I have a boyfriend who
helps me run these things.

Speaker 1 (03:15):

They also do a bunch of other events, like they'll
do speed dating or even friends speed dating to meet
friends not necessarily like a partner.

play corn holl They get all the people together outside
the seminar and place with.
