Speaker 1 (00:00):
Uh, one of the most important people in the history
of music ever, Stevie Wonder. He's on our phone line
right now, Stevie Wonder. I mean you know these songs
Stevie Wonders, Stevie Wonder come back music? Is it music
(00:23):
without Stevie bringing in right now? Stevie, it's Ryan Seacrest.
Speaker 2 (00:28):
Hi, Ryan, how are you.
Speaker 3 (00:30):
It's been too long, my friend. I'm doing well. How
are you?
Speaker 4 (00:33):
I know, I know, I've I've checked you auto, I've
seen you on different television things and the social media stuff,
and here we go.
Speaker 3 (00:43):
Well, thank you. I'll never forget.
Speaker 1 (00:45):
I had the honor of going to Stevie's house and
we get together at his dining room table. I just
want to tell you, if you ever get the Stevie
Wonders pad, He's got the best snacks.
Speaker 3 (00:54):
This guy is just powering snacks, offering me snacks, ate snacks.
Thank thank you for the snacks. It was so much
fun to be there.
Speaker 2 (01:02):
It was good having Have you enjoyed the snacks.
Speaker 3 (01:06):
So, Stevie, you're doing something right now. It's very important. Uh.
Speaker 1 (01:10):
We know that you know, music that we play here
on Kiss would not be this music without the contributions
you have made over the years to music, the people
you've influenced that are on our playlist every single day.
It's remarkable, it really is, and you deserve all the
credit in the world for that. And right now you're
(01:30):
out doing something specific and deliberate, and that is you're
on the road on the Singers song as We Fix
Our Nation's Broken Heart tour. Tell me about that and
why you did it.
Speaker 2 (01:42):
So you know, obviously I'm in the world, part of
the world, and.
Speaker 4 (01:47):
We're part of the nation, so so different than you
and the two of you seeing what's going on is
it's too much. I felt negativity, too much back and
forth politically, socially, and.
Speaker 2 (02:03):
I guess more it just.
Speaker 4 (02:05):
So organically happened that about five years ago I wrote
the songs idea.
Speaker 2 (02:12):
I had the title Kimmy Fix Our Nation's Broken Heart.
Speaker 4 (02:16):
And about two years after that, I met someone through
a friend, Molly Vanna, and I knew he was a vote,
you know, and did vocal training and all that. But
as my friend told.
Speaker 2 (02:30):
Me, she just said that he's a great songwriter.
Speaker 4 (02:33):
So I had been messing with that song and never
came up with exactly the lyric that I wanted, and
I told it would become a nice to have someone too,
you know, knew to do something with the.
Speaker 2 (02:46):
Lyric and see what happens. And Molly came up with
a great lyric, and so we got this song. And
when I did the vocal, when I finally heard the words,
I said, you know, this is.
Speaker 4 (02:57):
Exactly what I want, went in the studio dim of
the song, fel good about it, and decided to call it,
you know, to do a tour and call it sing
your song as me six on Nations broken Heart. And
I just think that music has always been the tender
(03:17):
plays and everyone's heart, and it has been that thing
that we have been able to use to bring Music
brings people together that you would.
Speaker 2 (03:25):
Never think they could. And so it's been a lot
of fun.
Speaker 4 (03:29):
It had some great success, and I wanted to actually
the things go the way that I'm seeing it, continue
to do this.
Speaker 1 (03:40):
Whodium you are I mean when I when I think
of the amazing influence you've had on our lives, the
soundtracks you've created, the good times. Me see, I just
played a couple of clips of some of the songs
over the years that you've done, and I can't hit
play up smiling, you know, and hit play without feeling goodness,
(04:02):
and that is something that is so difficult for anyone
to give to somebody. I mean, like, it really takes
something special to just be able to hit play and
immediately change your mood.
Speaker 3 (04:10):
And feel goodness. And we love you for that.
Speaker 1 (04:12):
I love all the wonderful experiences we've had over the years.
So thank you for calling in with this and continued
success and good luck on that tour, Big Hogs.
Speaker 2 (04:21):
You're beginning. One thing I'm looking forward to the time
that you and I collaborate on the song who.
Speaker 3 (04:31):
Are We there?
Speaker 2 (04:32):
You know, definitely let's do it.
Speaker 1 (04:35):
I want to play a little hook of that song
you talked about it Stevie wonder.
Speaker 3 (04:47):
Thank you Stevenie, Big Hawks. We'll talk soon.
Speaker 2 (04:50):
Thank you. Pe
