topics are made up on the spot, but the passion
is real.

Speaker 2 (03:54):
Who's gonna be pro? Who's gonna be cone?

Speaker 5 (03:55):
I think you were con last time because it was tequila,
so you'll be pro Courtney will be con. You have
fifteen seconds to make your case, ten second rebuttal your
topic today inspired by Justin Willman is magicians.

Speaker 3 (04:09):
Magicians not only have to work really hard to get
to develop that skill. I think there has to be
a natural born talent with it in its great form
of entertainment.

Speaker 2 (04:20):
We are members of the.

Speaker 3 (04:21):
Magic Castle because the magicians put on such a fun,
exciting show.

Speaker 4 (04:26):
And just a guess and trying to figure it out
is like.

Speaker 5 (04:28):
Oh my gosh, missus Lopez, you're against magicians.

Speaker 4 (04:32):
Magicians are nothing but liars. They pretend to cut bodies
in half. It's not true. How can you do that?
You're showing kids, let's cut a body in half, and
we're all going to applaud. You're liars, murderers.

Speaker 3 (04:45):
Mister Lopez, you've been catching up on your nineteen fifties
magic because I haven't been seeing a lot of bodies
cut in half.

Speaker 2 (04:52):
But these magicians, whether it's close.

Speaker 3 (04:54):
Up magic or they're in the parlor of press to digitation,
what exactly that's all?

Speaker 2 (04:58):
What the magic castle? They know how to put on
a show and get entertained.

Speaker 5 (05:01):
Hello, miss Lopez, I don't.

Speaker 4 (05:03):
Know what your pressed digitation is.

Speaker 2 (05:05):
And you pronounce that, actually pronounce that exactly.

Speaker 6 (05:10):
That means that was good.

Speaker 4 (05:11):
But they lie and teach us that we can't tell
you our tricks because it will take away the magic.
It's because they're lying.

Speaker 5 (05:19):
Eh, let's know who you think one Mario present digitation,
Poor Mario Lopez. What up?

Speaker 2 (05:28):
Mario Courtney Lopez?

Speaker 5 (05:29):
Youre justin.

Speaker 3 (05:29):
Willman is in the building. He's going to join us
after the top of the hour. Are going to get
the scoop on Netflix? Is the Magic Prank Show? NeXT's
Ebro Mario Lopez joining out in studio magician and comic
Justin Willman.

Speaker 2 (05:41):
What's going on, Mario, Good to see you, Nice to
see you. How you been. I've been busy.

Speaker 7 (05:45):
I've been on tour doing doing the deal for the people,
spreading the magic across the nation, you know, Magic for
humans in person tour right now. And two types of
people who come to a magic show. First group people
who love magic, love the way it makes the field.
They don't want to know how it works right. And
then there's the people that those people bring with them. Okay,
the skeptics. I could tell this guy's one right right

(06:07):
off the bat. He keeps checking his wallet. But it's
fun to turn those skeptics into into believers. You know,
I am a big magic fan. I think I told
you before. I'm a member of the Magic Castle.

Speaker 6 (06:19):
Yes, I've heard.

Speaker 3 (06:20):
I've heard the sightings of you around there. I've always appreciated.
I think it's cool and mixed with comedy. Man, I
think it doesn't get.

Speaker 2 (06:26):
Better than that.

Speaker 6 (06:27):
You and ad Alonzo.

Speaker 2 (06:29):
Back you know Ed.

Speaker 6 (06:31):
I know ed.

Speaker 7 (06:31):
He's been like an integral part of every show I've done.
This cool magic Prank show. As you know, I was
able to let him unleashed and he's making some crazy stuff.

Speaker 3 (06:41):
Oh that's great. Yeah, because magic and comedy that's all
about him.

Speaker 2 (06:44):
That's good to hear.

Speaker 3 (06:45):
Man Wayne, time for me a few more songs and
then more with comic magician Justin n comic magician Justin
Wilmans in studio You're on with Mario Lopez and Justin
You're back on Netflix with an all new series magic
Pranks show you just mentioned.

Speaker 2 (06:59):
And do you always prank people with magic?

Speaker 6 (07:03):
Is that?

Speaker 2 (07:04):
Is that required?

Speaker 6 (07:05):
Or you mix it up sometimes?

Speaker 7 (07:08):
Well, you know, as a magician, I kind of look
through I look at things through that lens, and magic
is inherently kind of a prank, just just in general.

Speaker 6 (07:15):
You know, like a trick you don't know where it's going, boom,
hopefully it's kind of surprise ending.

Speaker 7 (07:20):
And for years on Magic for Humans, you know, we'd
work hard on developing these crazy.

Speaker 6 (07:23):
Tricks, but I would always feel a little restrained, you.

Speaker 7 (07:25):
Know, like like there you can you can take things
very very far, like like let's convince someone, you know,
someone's head explode, Like you can do crazy stuff with magic,
but it inherently gets to a mean point where it's
like you're kind of like why why are you doing this?
So I was like, what if we did a prank show,
but it's only for people who deserve it, like they

(07:46):
did something messed up in the past.

Speaker 2 (07:48):
So I like took submissions.

Speaker 7 (07:50):
I opened my Instagram and people DM me like yo,
my brother he used to do this, terrorize me with this.
My boyfriend is always texting while driving, so that lets
me sleep at night. So then I can kind of
justify it. It's like I'm a Robin Hood. It's like
kind of karmic justice. So it's a prank show only
for people who deserve it, so family and friends, they
do it to loved ones, but loved ones who deserve

(08:10):
it exactly.

Speaker 2 (08:11):
I like it. I get it.

Speaker 3 (08:12):
The Magic Prank Show is now streaming on Netflix. We're
gonna have more with Justin Willman coming up.

Speaker 1 (08:17):
More, Mario Lopez coming up.

Speaker 3 (08:20):
Getting the scoop on Netflix is The Magic Prank Show
from Justin Willman Mario Lopez here. So these pranks, what's
the wildest one you think you've done well.

Speaker 7 (08:28):
So this guy used to terrorize his brother when he
would sleep growing up in Guatemala.

Speaker 6 (08:33):
Like he it was his.

Speaker 7 (08:34):
Younger brother, and he would like hide under his bed
for a couple hours just to like jump out and
scare him.

Speaker 6 (08:39):
He'd hide in the closet.

Speaker 7 (08:40):
And this dude, he just he'd lost sleep over it,
and he never never got an apology.

Speaker 6 (08:45):
And this is like twenty five years ago.

Speaker 7 (08:48):
So I always wanted to do a bit where we
convince someone that they have time traveled to a post
apocalyptic world. You know, now that's sbitious. So we convinced
we got this guy to sign up for sleep study.
Apparently this guy'll do anything for money. He signed up
for like medical studies before for some quick cash. So
we got him to sign up for a sleep study
that was totally fake. He fell asleep in the sleep

(09:09):
pod that he thought he was focus grouping. Yeah, and uh,
while he was asleep, we transported him to the desert
and he woke up like in a a post apocalyptic wasteland,
like it was like just Mad Max and like news
clips playing in very high tech weird stuff. And convinced
him and he'd like fallen has been asleep for ten years.

(09:30):
Like while he was in this sleep study, the world
like some sort of bad thing happened and he believed
it for it was about a good forty five minutes
until I was like, you know, before this guy just.

Speaker 6 (09:41):
Jumps off the cliff, let's let's let him, let's let
him know what it was all about. The brother came out.

Speaker 7 (09:47):
Yeah, this drone landed with a box, a small box,
and all of a sudden, like this big dude emerges
from this box. So he was it looked like some
kind of weird teleportation thing. And the guy took off
the hood and it was his brother, And yeah.

Speaker 1 (10:00):
No it was.

Speaker 5 (10:01):
It's a bit much.

Speaker 6 (10:02):
I would say the show's a bit extra. Yeah, you know,
we go hard.

Speaker 3 (10:06):
Justin Hank tight a few more songs and when it
talks some more. Maria Lopez catching up with comic magician
Justin Wilman this.

Speaker 2 (10:13):
Hour and I know you're out on the road.

Speaker 3 (10:14):
So when people come and see you, do you start
off with like a some sort of opening monologue, then
you start getting into the magic or how does like
what can we expect if it comes here?

Speaker 7 (10:23):
Well, I I kind of call out the magic lovers
plus ones, you know, two sets of groups like I
like I mentioned right at the beginning, and people kind
of instantly identify who they are. And because the skeptics
they think they want to know, you know, they're kind
of watching differently.

Speaker 6 (10:37):
They're not. They're not. Their guard is up. Theyre trying
to figure out how the magic.

Speaker 2 (10:40):
Enjoy the show.

Speaker 7 (10:41):
Yeah, I'm like, listen, you don't want to know. I
had to break it down a moment. I'm like, magic
is like hot dogs. Okay, you don't want to know.

Speaker 2 (10:47):
Right.

Speaker 7 (10:47):
The more you know, the harder it is to swallow. Really,
you know, so because if I told you hot dogs
are made, you get sad. If I told you, if
you can figure out how the trick works, you're going
to be sad. So I then show them how a
couple of tricks work, and they get sad, and then
of course I I revealed that that's not actually how
they worked at all, and so the magic lovers are happy,
and then nobody trusts me, and then we're all settled.

Speaker 2 (11:07):
In Okay, all right, I got it. I got to
get back to the music.

Speaker 3 (11:10):
Justin a few more songs, and we're gonna have more
with Justin Woman. You're on Mario Lopez, comic magician Justin
Willman's hanging in studio. So let me ask you, man.
Did you get into it by design? Is this something
you always wanted to do?

Speaker 2 (11:22):
Or did you get into magic by accident?

Speaker 6 (11:25):
Literally accident? Mario?

Speaker 7 (11:26):
I was riding my bike, well, wearing rollerblades at age twelve. Wait,
riding a bike while wearing Yeah, sounds cool, great, and
it sounds cool. It's not an Next game. It's not
an Next game sport. I was trying to impress some girls.
You know, the things you do as an awkward teen.
You were an awkward teen. Maybe I'm talking to the
wrong guy.

Speaker 6 (11:43):
I don't know, Mario.

Speaker 2 (11:44):
Maybe at an awkward moment a moment.

Speaker 7 (11:48):
I had an awkward decade, okay, And in the middle
of that decade, I was I fell off my bike
with rollerblades on, broke both of my arms at the
same time, and I was in cast for six months.

Speaker 6 (11:56):
I broke one of them really bad.

Speaker 7 (11:58):
And my doctor, when I got the cast off, he
prescribed magic. He recommended card tricks his physical therapy. Really yeah,
And that's how that's how I got into it.

Speaker 6 (12:05):
My parents were like let's do it.

Speaker 2 (12:06):
Get this kid a magic kit and then you fell
in love with it?

Speaker 6 (12:09):
Yeah, I mean, and if I can you imagine if
I didn't.

Speaker 3 (12:11):
The craziest story I've ever heard someone got into a career.
You both and not to digress, but how was the
bathroom situation?

Speaker 2 (12:18):
Like the mom help?

Speaker 7 (12:19):
So I didn't have this where they were both like
posted like okay, I had a cast up here up
to my like left arm pit and the right went
up to my right bicep.

Speaker 6 (12:27):
My mom didn't have to do all that stuff. You know.

Speaker 7 (12:30):
That's the vital thing that that happens multiple times. It's
a trick, but I mean, it's it's a funny. My
parents were so excited about this versus like if it
didn't work out, that's a malpractice lawsuit waiting to happen,
like prescribe magic.

Speaker 2 (12:42):
You know your honor. Yeah, yeah, that's cool, man, that's cool.

Speaker 3 (12:46):
All right, One more thing I want to ask more
with just a Woman after quick Break, you're the full.

Speaker 1 (12:50):
Interview now at On with Mario Dunc More Mario Lopez
on the way.

Speaker 2 (12:54):
Wrapping up with comic magician Justin Willman. It's Mario Lopez.

Speaker 3 (12:58):
We've been talking a little magic, and I don't literally
a couple of card tricks.

Speaker 2 (13:02):
I want to learn more and uh yeah, I guess.

Speaker 3 (13:06):
There's videos and stuff YouTube you can just kind of
like go because this is cool to have when you're drinking,
when you're hanging out.

Speaker 2 (13:11):
When you're playing.

Speaker 7 (13:11):
Do you consider yourself more of a magic fan and
a magic level or do you do you kind of
like to get the inside baseball? Like do you like
to go to the castle And I like to go
to the cat like and talk to a magician and
be like, okay, so like, show show me that move.

Speaker 3 (13:25):
Like, I don't want to know the big I just
want to know, sir. I want to know the easy
stuff that I can impress my friends with, just like that.
Don't show me your big stuff. Just give me some
easy stuff that I can impress my friends with really quick.

Speaker 2 (13:35):
I just want to know that. I love the close
up magic.

Speaker 3 (13:37):
Thing I love about the castle too, is it's always different, right,
you always have a different always, And I'm sure you've
seen enough magic to know now, like you have your taste,
like you can you can spot good magic from bad magic,
right right right. They're pretty solid over there, though they're
over there. They're pretty solid, so I like it. And
of course I'm drinking a lot, so it makes it impressive.
Do you go there in performance?

Speaker 2 (13:55):
I go there.

Speaker 7 (13:55):
Yeah, I've been going since I was like seventeen eighteen.
I was like part of their teen pro in my
late high school years. And then I get up there
a bunch. I try to go see Ed whenever he's there.

Speaker 2 (14:05):
That's great. I've got the.

Speaker 6 (14:06):

That was my best.

Two and a half. We're going to come back and
wrap this up in a final round.

Speaker 2 (18:09):
Yo, Mario Courtney Lopez. Final round of Our TV Mother's
Pop Quiz. The score is three three.

Speaker 5 (18:14):
To two and a half. That's right. Courtney is still winning,
but barely now there are very questions left. Her maiden
name is Margaret Winker. Her favorite activities include watching Oprah
and the Shop at Home Network while eating bond bonds.
She's known to wear stilettos and eighties lycra Her kids
are Kelly and Bud, Peg Bundy, Katie Sagal, Marry with children.

(18:38):
Yes I get I should get three, Yes, I should
get three points. The last clue was she's played by
Katie Sagal, So you get one point because you got Peg,
Bondy and Mary with children, which makes it three point
five to three. You're now in the lead. Her son
is Vinton. Her grandson is Vinton Junior, although they call
him Bubba. Before she had her own sitcom, she appeared

(19:00):
on The Carol Burnett Show. She was played by Courtney.

Speaker 4 (19:04):
Mama's Family Mama, Mama, Yes.

Speaker 2 (19:09):
Is three and a half.

Speaker 1 (19:10):
It is?

Speaker 5 (19:11):
It is now four to three and a half. There
is one question last, here we go. Courtney is now
back in the lead. It all comes down to this.

Speaker 6 (19:19):
That's it.

Speaker 5 (19:20):
Her children are George Junior, Michael, Lindsey, Buster, and Han Young.
She once left her husband George for his twin brother Oscar.
She always has a drink in her hand, specifically Cloud Mirror, Vodka,
Tonics and Martinis. And she was played by the late
great Jessica Walter. Wow, I'll give you another hint. This
show originally was on Fox, got canceled, was rebooted at Netflix.

Speaker 2 (19:44):
No idea.

Speaker 5 (19:44):

Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes the best film
in the franchise, it's job dropping, spectacle and a worthy
successor to the throne. In this one, Wesball wisely takes
his time establishing the state of the planet, set many
generations after the last film, exploring how the christ like

(22:00):
legend of Caesar has spread for both good and evil.

Speaker 3 (22:04):
