Speaker 1 (00:03):
Ron Ananian, how would you diagnose any other noe crank?
Speaker 2 (00:06):
Tell me what's good. I'll tell you what's bad. So
I said, let's go through grounds. So you know, let's
go through grounds. Tell me what's good that keeps.
Speaker 1 (00:16):
The car doctor? If you you started up bringing up
the temperature and you know, upper radiator rows hot, uncomfortable
to touch.
Speaker 3 (00:23):
Yeah, yeah, like the cooling system. Seems that we're fine.
Speaker 1 (00:26):
Welcome to the radio home of ron Aanian, the Car Doctor.
Since nineteen ninety one. This is where car owners the
world overturned to for their definitive opinion on automotive repair.
If your mechanics giving you a busy signal, pick.
Speaker 4 (00:40):
Up the phone and call in.
Speaker 2 (00:42):
The garage doors.
Speaker 1 (00:44):
Are opening, but I am here to take your call
at eight five five five six ninety nine hundred and
now Hee Ronning, Welcome listeners, Hey Monnini and car doctor here.
Speaker 2 (00:56):
Thanks for joining me this hour. Yeah, another week of
voter repair right, just why, by gosh.
Speaker 1 (01:01):
I can't believe it's the weekend already. It seems like
it was Monday and I was walking and going hooray,
you know, the week of auto repair, and now I
get to go hoorray. You know, the weekend of auto
repair talk with you in your car and your problem,
whatever it might be. So I got a little bit
of a special treat for you as we kick off
this hour of the Car.
Speaker 2 (01:15):
Doctor. Ben Johnson's with us.
Speaker 1 (01:17):
He's the director of product management for the folks over
at Mitchell one, and Ben's got some exciting industry wide. Well,
I'm not going to give it away too much here.
I don't let the cat out of the bag. Let me
get let me get Ben in here, and I will
let him spring the surprise. So Ben Johnson, Welcome, sirs.
Glad to see you again.
Speaker 3 (01:34):
Hello, Ron, it's great to be here. Thanks for having me.
Speaker 2 (01:36):
You're very welcome anytime, buddy.
Speaker 1 (01:39):
Something's new at Mitchell one, right, I mean, jeez, And
you know I just had Tim on a couple of
weeks ago and he had all his updates and all
the changes, and here you are. You're doing it again.
You guys just are turning the industry on its head.
So what's do at Mitchell one this week?
Speaker 3 (01:55):
We're trying Ron, And this time I'll tell you you've
been good to us and you literally are getting discover
upon this where you're going to put the press release
out next week, so it's a it's kind of breaking news.
But you know what we've done is we have enabled
a connection with a company that sells these You've probably
seen them on Amazon or in stores. A lot of
(02:17):
a lot of brands make them. These little devices that
plug into the onward diagnostics port you obed two port
of the vehicles.
Speaker 2 (02:25):
The little dongle things.
Speaker 3 (02:29):
Affectionately falling dongles, they you know, they usually with that device,
there's an app that comes with it, and so if
a pro bowl develops in the car or something you know,
you might geofence your teenage daughter or whatever it is,
you get alerts and things like that. Well, we have
long thought that when you have these devices on your car,
you should also be able to connect that car in
(02:51):
the conversation that that car is trying to have with
you to somebody that can actually understand that conversation, that
is your professional repair shop. So we've enable connection with
the Mitchell manager se product and a device made by
a company called Voye Motive that's one of these devices.
Again comes with this app, comes with all the bells
(03:11):
and whistles. It even goes beyond most of these devices
because it goes into the data buses and the controllers
that most of the OBT two devices don't support, so
like the body controller and the transmission. It can tell
you if your fuel is lower, if your oil life
is getting close to the end, or you get a
tiger pressure down, and a lot of other stuff. And
(03:33):
now you can as a consumer direct that conversation to
your preferred repair shop if they have manager Se Mitchell's
management system. So when your part develops a problem, now
not only will you get the alert, but your trusted
shop will get that alert. They can take a look
at that alert, run it through our pro to manageer
(03:54):
track product or whatever other resources they'd like. They say,
look and when they call you, hey, mister customer, looks
like your car's got a problem. It looks like the
code says it's a it's a throttle position sensor code
and we've checked it and for your car with that
emiles on it, it's probably the sensor. Here's you know
what it'll take. You know, your my favorite part store
(04:15):
has one on the shelf. It won't be a big deal.
I'll have you here waiting, we'll verify that's what it
is let's set an appointment and get you taken care
of us. So how different is that?
Speaker 1 (04:24):
Then?
Speaker 3 (04:25):
You know? Otherwise, if he calls you as a shop,
you say, you say, well, you're checking engine lights on,
you need to bring the car in. We'll kind a
scan tool and we kind of start the process from there. Now,
so much farther down that process, we know the part
that might be needed, we know the technician we want
available with the car shows up. All those things give
you way ahead of the curve.
Speaker 1 (04:45):
So for conversation sake, the car could be in California. Hey,
I traveled cross country, but Ron's back in New Jersey
and I can Hey, Ron, We're going to send you
this information.
Speaker 2 (04:56):
Something's going on with the car.
Speaker 1 (04:57):
And Ron can look at that and go, well, you
know it's got a piece or one seven one. It's
a lean fault code, so maybe I'm not working on it,
but maybe I can help direct the customer, or or
perhaps it's a P zero four fifty.
Speaker 2 (05:09):
Six EVAB fault.
Speaker 1 (05:10):
It's gonna send me that information as a repair shop exactly.
Speaker 3 (05:15):
And to your point, you can you can determine what
you believe the severity of that code to be. So
It might be that you just tell them, hey, you
probably left the gas cat loose, you know, don't worry
about it. Either way, it's not something that's going to
strand you will deal with it when you get home.
Or if it's more honest than that, say look, you
probably really need to get this into a shop. Maybe
(05:36):
I know somebody, maybe I don't, but you know, you
can help direct them. So either way you're their trusted
advisor and help them take care of the situation.
Speaker 2 (05:44):
So is this gonna send data as well?
Speaker 1 (05:47):
So I'll be looking at real time PIDs, you know,
pieces of information from the scan.
Speaker 3 (05:53):
You know, it won't be real time ron, but when
it sends you information, it'll send you the freeze frame
information that came along with that code, so you'll see
what was there. And this Voyemotive does have a portal
that you can log into and get even more detailed
information about, you know, the situation with that code and
that car.
Speaker 2 (06:11):
That's crazy.
Speaker 1 (06:12):
You know, this is what this is what the menu,
this is what the manufacturers have been doing for a
while now. I think the word is telematics.
Speaker 3 (06:21):
Exactly, and most most vehicle manufacturers, now do you have
some kind of a connection between their vehicle and you know,
the mothership if you will, the vehicle manufacturer, and many
of them make that information available to the servicing dealership
that you bought your car from, but so far it
hasn't been really available to the aftermarket shop.
Speaker 1 (06:41):
What and so in other words, the the device plugs
into the OBD two port, right, it's it's OBD two
port compatible, so to speak, and the correct the vehicle
owner is going to connect it by bluetooth to their
cell phone.
Speaker 5 (07:00):
Yep.
Speaker 3 (07:01):
And then on their cell phone they can actually there's
an in that app and on the Voyo website they
can actually go in and say find my shop, and
if their shop has Mitchell one manager, see that shop
will show up and they'll say, I want to link
to that shop. And then if you're that shop run,
you'll be working away happily on your manager system and
(07:21):
you'll see an alert come up on your right top
screen that says onboarding request and you'll say, oh, let
me click that. Oh it's Ben Johnson. Yeah, he's a
good customer. Sure, I'll accept that. And from that point on,
it'll even go in and say, look this vincode. We
know it's Ben's twenty ten Toyata Tundra. So it doesn't
like duplicated vehicle or duplicated customer. It'll it'll match it
(07:42):
with the record that you've already got.
Speaker 1 (07:45):
So your daughter goes away to college and she's three
hours away, and it's Saturday night and the check engine
light pops on and come Monday morning, you know you
going to get the phone call Sunday and then come
Monday morning you can make arrangements to relay that information
(08:06):
to your mechanic. Once he opens and boom, he can
look at it.
Speaker 2 (08:10):
Yeah, no, this.
Speaker 1 (08:11):
Isn't that big a deal, but you know, get her
home the next time she's home that kind of thing, now,
will it right?
Speaker 2 (08:17):
I mean that's what you're saying. That's what you're saying.
It's going to do.
Speaker 3 (08:20):
Yeah, And actually when you call your mechanic on Monday morning,
he should say, yeah, I see that alert right here.
Let me take a look at it, and should already
have it in front of them.
Speaker 1 (08:28):
And now now let me ask you this, can can
I also look at and see maintenance? If someone says, hey, ron,
I want you to look at my car and tell
me how much more I have to go for an
oil change.
Speaker 2 (08:38):
Will the device tell me that information?
Speaker 3 (08:41):
Yeah, it'll do that in a couple of different ways. Ron.
First of all, if your vehicle supports it, you know
like some do now, they'll actually have the reading on
the on the scan tool of what the oil life is.
It will interpret that and it can tell you at
any given time, you know what the forty the oil
life is at forty percent or sixty percent or twenty
percent or what happened. And the other thing, of course
it does is it tracks mileage, so it will send
(09:04):
regular updates to the shop and you're saying, hey, no
problem found on Ron's car, but it just surpassed, you know,
sixty five thousand miles, so you might want to look
to schedule a maintenance appointment because things are needed. The
other really interesting technology this has run, which I'm super
excited about, is it has a proprietary technology about predicting
(09:25):
if the battery is going low enough that it's likely
not to start the car within a two week period.
So if you know your daughter's car again at college,
it's started. You know, we all drive our cars now
with these feel injected engines. They start immediately, so they
can literally survive on a surface charge for a long
time before we and when they do die, it's like
there's just nothing there. Right. So now you get a
(09:47):
pre warning like hopefully a couple of weeks in advance saying, hey,
your battery looks like it needs to be tested and
it's probably failing. You can get that pink care before
there's a jump start or a toe required.
Speaker 2 (09:58):
Wow is it? When is this out?
Speaker 5 (10:00):
Ben?
Speaker 2 (10:00):
When is this being released? Is this this this? Or
is this the release?
Speaker 3 (10:03):
Now?
Speaker 2 (10:03):
We've just announced that you're on the Car Doctor.
Speaker 3 (10:06):
You just announced that here on the Car Doctor we
are in release now, and uh, you know, people can
you know, consumers can buy these devices, the shops can
be incentivized to help sell them. It's all done. They
can buy them from Amazon dot com or from Volume
Motive dot com and shops that are interested in hooking
up to this can go to voyolink dot com claim
(10:28):
their shop so that they can be findable on this network.
And best of all, there's no charge for the shop
to do this, and there's no additional charge for the consumer.
They just need to buy the device. And this is
you know, Voyeomotives and our way of just getting those
consumers and shops connected so they can better take care
of their vehicles.
Speaker 2 (10:44):
Ben, this is this is cutting edge technology. This is crazy.
Speaker 3 (10:48):
This is working on this for a long time.
Speaker 1 (10:51):
Yeah, I bet I uh, boy, I gotta go look
at this. So, so the website is boyo v O
y oh voyo automotive dot com.
Speaker 3 (11:02):
Yes, okay, that's the one.
Speaker 1 (11:03):
And then if the listeners want more information about it,
or if the shops want more information about it from Mitchell,
Mitchell's website is.
Speaker 2 (11:10):
What Mitchell one dot com, Mitchell one dot com and.
Speaker 3 (11:14):
For and for and for shops that actually are Mitchell
customers already they're going to see this announcement on their
front screen next week too, so they'll see that information
right in front of them.
Speaker 5 (11:25):
Ben.
Speaker 1 (11:25):
You always surprise me, brother. So that's really cool. That's
that's really that's that's You're very welcome. That's really cool
use of technology. So Ben, let me go. I gotta
pull over and take a pause. But as always, sir,
it's a great pleasure. Mitchell one dot com, Voyo Automotive
dot com. I think are the websites right, Ben, just
(11:46):
to get them out there again.
Speaker 3 (11:48):
Yea, all right, And that was VOYEO Motive v O
Yo m.
Speaker 2 (11:51):
O t I v oh Voyo Motive.
Speaker 1 (11:53):
Okay, VOYEO Motive v O y O Motive voyeo Motive
dot com. Cool beans, we'll get together, we'll talk again.
Thanks again for the tip, and thanks for making us,
you know, the the grand releasers here. We appreciate your
trusting us and we appreciate all Let you guys, do
you take good care?
Speaker 3 (12:11):
All right, we appreciate it too. Ron take care.
Speaker 2 (12:13):
You're welcome. Bye Bye. I'm ronin any and the Car Doctor.
I'll be back right after this. No God, that's right.
Speaker 3 (12:26):
If you call and we're not live, you can leave
a message and we'll call you back to get you
on the air with Ron eight five five.
Speaker 2 (12:33):
Five six zero nine nine zero zero.
Speaker 3 (12:35):
Speaking of Ron here he is.
Speaker 2 (12:37):
Hey, Hey, welcome back roning the Car Doctor here.
Speaker 1 (12:40):
You know, I want to thank Ben Johnson once again
of Mitchell and Mitchell won. I mean, they gave us
that scoop on the new OBD two dongle that's going
to go in there. Volume Motive was the name of
the company where you get the dongles from out online
and it will allow you to as he said, it
will allow you to communicate with a car that's away
or your mechanic to can to get with the car.
(13:00):
And the thing I really like about it is for
that customer that's traveling, or that that young person that's
traveling that's you know, off in college. Now you've got
a device that will come back. It'll alert the mechanic
and allow them to help diagnose and get your home safe.
Because that's that's really what it's all about. But we're
excited that Mitchell chose us and thought enough of us
to allow us to be the you know you heard
(13:21):
it here first, folks, right, It's just it's just kind
of a neat thing. I just I'm amazed that some
of the first the Car Doctor has generated.
Speaker 2 (13:29):
Let's do a piece of email real quick.
Speaker 1 (13:31):
Russ from North Carolina writes in about his twenty eighteen
Ford Explorer Ron, I'm looking for new tires from my Explore.
This is going to be my third set on this vehicle.
I seem to tear up tires real quickly, and I'm
just curious what your thoughts are. I'm looking for something
that's going to give it an old season ride and
something that will last longer. Than what I've had on
here before. I've been using traditional brands and I'm just
(13:53):
not satisfied.
Speaker 2 (13:53):
What can you.
Speaker 1 (13:54):
Recommend, Russ, I'll tell you what. Let's go with new technology. Okay,
I've just recent read about this tire. We've actually sold
and installed a few of these. I've seen these up close,
the Bridgestone alensa as Ultra. Really nice tire. One of
the things I like about this tire is the tread design.
Speaker 2 (14:12):
It's it's a it's a.
Speaker 1 (14:14):
Highway tread looking tire, so it's a real quiet ride
and it, you know, it rides very nice. Now if
you go read about it in the technology side of
it over on the bridge Stone website bridgetonetire dot com,
I believe we Yeah, bridgetonetire dot com. They've got quiet
track technology. It creates a quiet and all around comfortable
(14:38):
driving experience. So you know, here's a tire that will
go on an SUV that will allow you to ride
in comfort and quiet. I you know, we have an
explorer in the family as well. And I know what
you're saying. I've you know, I've put, I put I'll.
Speaker 2 (14:51):
Be a brady for my third set of tires by
sixty thousand miles.
Speaker 1 (14:54):
So my tires do not last either. And it's not
style of driving, and it's not for lack of wheel alignment.
You know, I think it's an issue with those vehicles.
Some of those vehicles are not some but those particular
that particular generation of Explorer seems to be hard on tires.
You know, twenty five thirty thousand miles. And listen, there
are some of there are others out there that are worse.
We've seen some of the a Lexus you know, uh
(15:18):
three fifty models, the smaller SUVs that they have, they'll
tear up tires and as little as twenty five thousand miles.
So you know, we're all looking for a better ride.
Tire is my point, rustling for everybody else, but the
bridge Stone ALENSA. It actually comes with an eighty thousand
mile limited warranty. Now, I'm not going to tell you
(15:38):
I never sell a tire based on Hey, you know
you're gonna get eighty thousand miles out of it. You
know what what predicates or dictates mileage on a tire
alignments number one, inflation number two. You know what do
you do you follow and do you inflate the tires
and check tire pressure on a regular basis. Rotation, alignment,
tire pressure, it's all part of it. And then how
(16:01):
do you drive? You know, are you hard around corners?
Are you you know, are you driving correctly? I'll say
it like that under control? So you know, style of driving,
driving habits, driving habits and where you.
Speaker 2 (16:15):
Drive will have a great effect on tire life as well.
Speaker 1 (16:17):
So but you know, they they rate it for eighty
thousand miles. You know, I would think you are going
to get fifty thousand miles out of the tire from
what I've read.
Speaker 2 (16:25):
We won't know.
Speaker 1 (16:25):
It's a fairly new model now, you know. But it's
bridge Stone has always been a great tire and they've
stood behind their product and I think it's worth looking
at the bridgetone Olensa as you know, it's it's just
an overall nice looking tire. When you see it, you're
gonna go, yeah, I kind of like that. And they're
(16:47):
available and they're out there, which is important, right. You know,
if you go to their website you will see that,
you know, they rate this tire in three categories. They
always give the top three features of all their tires
out at Bridgeton Tire dot and you know, they give
it a quiet ride, ride comfort and tread life, and
I think we're all looking for that. And I did
(17:07):
see some reports where they talked about shorter stopping distances
because of the style or because of the way the
tire has been designed. And you know, that's a that's
a big number. They're going to see a ten percent
better stopping distance on wet roads and in snow, I
believe was the number. So you can go out and
look at that as well out of Bridgeton tire dot com.
And understand, when tire companies design a tire, it's not
(17:31):
it's not quick, and it's not willy nilly. It's there's
a lot of thought that goes into the design of
a tire. So you know you've got to consider that.
And I will caution you whatever tire you choose, you know,
buy one of the names, all right. The name brands work, Okay,
they're the ones that have the pocketbook for the technology
and the engineering design. Some of these offshore tires that
(17:52):
are coming into the country, all all these offshore tires,
in my opinion, are garbage.
Speaker 2 (17:56):
So you know, if we're going to.
Speaker 1 (17:57):
Change tires on that explorer. Let's go look at bridgetone Bridge,
Donald lensa as Bridge donetire dot com.
Speaker 2 (18:02):
And I think you'll really like him. I appreciate the
contact for us. I'm running Ady in the Car Doctor.
Don't go away.
Speaker 1 (18:07):
I'll be back right after this. Welcome back listeners, Running
(18:51):
Amy in the Car Doctor. You know I talked to
the story recently in the ninety seven ranger of the
Little Shop Truck.
Speaker 2 (18:57):
It sits a lot, right, and it's getting older.
Speaker 1 (18:59):
It's got two hundred and twenty six thousand miles on
it now. And I noticed lately I've been getting in
it and I'm getting a little smell, a little sweet
smell that you know, like I know the heater core
is and I don't want to do another one.
Speaker 2 (19:14):
I really don't.
Speaker 1 (19:15):
It's it's what, it's twenty something years old now, and
you know it's a matter of not just the time
and the expense, but taking apart a plastic dashboard that's
so old.
Speaker 2 (19:28):
It's brittle.
Speaker 1 (19:29):
Things snap, things break, and if I can avoid it,
I'm going to avoid it.
Speaker 2 (19:32):
So what did I do?
Speaker 1 (19:33):
I put in a half a bottle of k Seal
not too long ago. And it solved the problem and
I don't have to now and I still have heat
obviously because k seal doesn't clog and it does a
great job. And I said to myself, you know, here's
something I don't talk often enough about, and maybe you
the listener have some questions. So I reached out to
our good friend Mike Schlipp from k Seal Caseal International.
(19:53):
MIC's over in England and he's on the phone with
us right now as we've reached out to him to
kind of talk and shout it up a little bit.
Speaker 2 (19:59):
Mike, Welcome back to the car doctor, sir. We're glad
to have you.
Speaker 4 (20:02):
Yeah, I'm very happy. It'd be nice to talk to
you again.
Speaker 2 (20:04):
Ron.
Speaker 1 (20:05):
So you know, case we know it works in a
ninety seven Ranger, and I know it works in a
few of my other vehicles as well as my customers vehicles.
Does k seal work in all types of vehicles, regardless
of corn.
Speaker 4 (20:19):
Yes, absolutely, k seal literally works on any water cooled engine,
whether you've got water in there, ethelyne, glycol, green, red,
you name it, even the waterless coolants for vintage and
performance vehicles. It literally doesn't matter what you got in there.
As long as the engine's running and you got liquid
(20:39):
flowing around the cooling system, that's all k seal needs
to find its way to the leak and make a repair.
Speaker 2 (20:45):
And kse sal's happy at that point.
Speaker 1 (20:47):
You know, I've I've used k seal in a variety
of engines and I've really had some great results.
Speaker 2 (20:54):
You know, any other use does it just have to
be a car engine?
Speaker 1 (20:56):
You know, tractors, motorcycles, boats, because motorcycles are all cooling, cooling,
liquid cool Now, you know, recreational vehicles, do they apply.
Does case seal.
Speaker 2 (21:05):
Work there as well?
Speaker 4 (21:08):
Yeah? Absolutely, case seal works in any any kind of
vehicle as long as yet as you say it's a
water cold engine. Yes, so ATVs. Boats, motorcycles, agricultural equipment,
even static generators like the bigger generators that are running
a lot of people. We sell case seal in some
(21:30):
of the international markets with intermittent electricity, you know, so
they rely on generators and those generators have to run.
So anything with a water cold engine, from the tiniest
motorcycles up to even cruise ships. We repair the cruise
ships once.
Speaker 2 (21:46):
Actually, that was wow, that was a good one.
Speaker 4 (21:48):
A few years ago.
Speaker 1 (21:49):
I'm gonna have to mention that to Tom Ray, my engineer,
because Tom does work for the FCC and he'll go
around to radio stations and make sure they're ready for
the Emergency Broadcast System all that, and they have generators.
And he called me not too long ago he had
a cooling system leak on something. It was a liquid
cool generator and we were talking about how to repair it,
(22:10):
and I never thought of K seal, just because it's
a generator. So that's that's good to know. That doesn't
matter if it's if it's wet and runs, put some
CA seal in it.
Speaker 2 (22:18):
If you got a cool leaku is what you're saying.
Speaker 4 (22:21):
I love that slogan.
Speaker 1 (22:22):
Ron.
Speaker 3 (22:22):
Yes, that's perfect if.
Speaker 1 (22:24):
You mix K seal. You know what if you're the
second guy there or the second person there, you know, well,
I tried brand X and it didn't work, and now
you want to.
Speaker 2 (22:32):
Try case seal.
Speaker 1 (22:33):
Do you have to take the other stuff out that
you have to drain the cooling system first?
Speaker 3 (22:40):
No, you don't.
Speaker 4 (22:41):
And the reason for that is that the K seal itself,
it's it's formulation is inert. You know, it's not a
chemical reaction. There are certain ceiling chemicals out there that
will react to sodium silica. For example, if he finds
ethylene glycol anti freezing the system, it doesn't like it.
They react together causing a jelly substance. K seal is inert.
(23:05):
You can put it in regardless of what chemical may
have already been put in there in the before, and
it just does its job. At its job, it just
wants to flow around, as I say, looking for that
low pressure point to make that repair. And just as
an example over here in the UK, we supply k
seal and have done for many years to the the AA,
(23:26):
the Automobile Sociation like the Triple A, and they at
the roadside will use k seal and they don't know
what's in the system already they but they can trust
that they can put k seal in without causing any problems,
without causing any reactions.
Speaker 1 (23:40):
That's kind of neat so case heal's part of their
emergency road kit.
Speaker 4 (23:46):
Yes, absolutely, they what they want to do these roadside
recovery guys. They don't want to tow you home that
that's obviously going to cost cost their money. They want
to get get you back on the road and that's
good for the for the car, the motorist as well,
because then you get your destination quicker. Their aim is
to get you back on the road as soon as possible,
and case Seal really really helps them do that.
Speaker 2 (24:08):
Is there a difference?
Speaker 1 (24:09):
You know, we talk about regular k Seal and then
we talk about k Seal Ultimate, So what's what's the
difference besides the thirty three percent more ceiling power that
we all know it has.
Speaker 4 (24:22):
Yeah, absolutely, that is the key thing. K SEAL Ultimate
is an evolution of the original CA Seal formula. The
original like CASEIL and the little square bottle that you
see on the shelf, that's a multipurpose product. If you're
not sure where the leak is, then k Seal Regular
caseial is the one to go for. K SEAL Ultimate
(24:46):
is developed more for a head gasket repair, head gasket
and block particularly. It has some additional additives in there
that help protect the cooling system, prevent corrosion and so on,
So there's added added value in there. And with the
Ultimate product there is in fact a one manufacturer back
(25:07):
to guarantees. So if it doesn't fix your leak or
repair your problem, then no questions asked you get your
money back, But I have to say, you know, I
can count on just a couple of hands the number
of refunds we've done recently, so it does have a
good success rate.
Speaker 1 (25:25):
So basically it's it's case you know, but Caseal Ultimate
just has a higher density.
Speaker 2 (25:30):
I guess it would be the way to say it.
Speaker 4 (25:33):
But yeah, basically yes, I mean without going into the
sort of science and the chemistry, I could get Nick,
our technical manager in, but you know we'd be.
Speaker 3 (25:42):
Here for hours.
Speaker 4 (25:43):
But basically, yeah, it's an adaptation evolution of the original
casial formula that makes it just even better for head
gasket and block repairs, just targeting those particular issues.
Speaker 2 (25:57):
Regardless of what you're using.
Speaker 1 (25:58):
MIC And for those of you just tuning in, we're
talking to Mike Schluppy's the managing director of Case Seal
Case Seal International. You know, the regardless of what you're using,
K Seal or Case Seal Ultimate, does it matter where
you add it? You know, some cars have a radiator cap,
some cars have a radiator cap with an overflow bottle.
Some cars just have an overflow bottle or an expansion tank.
(26:20):
Does it matter where you put the K.
Speaker 2 (26:22):
Seal in.
Speaker 4 (26:24):
No, no, it doesn't. The most important thing is to
get K seal into the cooling system, and the best
way to do that for you know, a non mechanic
minded person is wherever you top up the water, so
you're going to use case seal because you're losing coolant.
So wherever you're adding the coolant at the moment scratching
your head and going what do I do, that's where
(26:45):
you're going to add your case seal. If you're a
bit more technically minded and you want to speed up
the process, or particularly if you've got an over pressurizing
cooling system where combustion gas is a forcing coolant back
in the wrong direction, then you can actually take off
the top hose of the radiator and pour the CA
sal directly in there. That's a little sort of tech tip,
(27:09):
but generally just add wherever you're topping up the coolant,
that's where you're going to add the K seal.
Speaker 1 (27:14):
And it doesn't matter whether you're adding case seal or
case seal Ultimate, you can do them both the same way.
Speaker 4 (27:20):
Yeah, absolutely, yes, it really is. You know, grab the bottle,
shake it up, pour it in and run the engine
and that's that's it. There's no real technical science behind
it other than the formulation that's inside the bottle, so
using it it couldn't be more easy.
Speaker 1 (27:40):
So then you know, all you really have to do
is make sure is enough from the radiator. You might
want to drain a little bit of coolant, but you're
draining it just the k seal fits. K seal will
work with any coolant that's in there, or whatever's in there.
It doesn't care.
Speaker 4 (27:55):
Yes, there's got to be a bit of room there,
and of course generally there would be some if you're
losing cooler. But as I just mentioned, if say it's
an over pressurizing system and you've got that coolant rising
up as say in the overflow of the headed tank,
then there's not enough room. So there you could drain
some out. I mean some people have been known to
use a turkey baster and train a bit out, but
(28:16):
there are other ways to do that, just so that
there's enough room for the case heal.
Speaker 3 (28:22):
To go back in.
Speaker 4 (28:23):
You could even go as far as draining maybe a
couple of cords of the coolant out, adding the case
sal to that and then feeding that back into the system,
and that again delivers the case heal more more rapidly
into the cooling system itself around the engine, which is
normally where the problem lies.
Speaker 1 (28:40):
Right. You know, we've used caseyal Ultimate quite a few
times and it's amazing. Once it's in the system, you
started up, you're running the engine, and you know the
hoses have been getting hot, and you're seeing a little
bit with susteam and then all of a sudden, you know,
typically six seven, eight minutes, ten minutes follow procedures, shut
it down, come back and it's fixed. It's just done,
(29:02):
you know, very impressive.
Speaker 3 (29:04):
Very I've got to share a quick story here.
Speaker 4 (29:06):
The first bottle of Casey I ever used. It was
a development bottle. We put the formulation together and I thought, right,
we're going to have to use this on a vehicle.
And a friend of mine had an old Ford van
here in the UK and it was pouring white smoke
out the back, clearly a head gasket issue, but the
van was so old.
Speaker 3 (29:26):
I thought, look, let's try it.
Speaker 4 (29:27):
You know, if anything goes wrong, it doesn't matter. Put
case ceel in and exactly that, Within a few minutes,
that white smoke just completely disappeared, and I stood there
with my friend. We were just like, this is amazing.
We found something here. So unfortunately he then had a
load of gray smoke because he was burning oil as well.
Speaker 3 (29:47):
But we might help it with that.
Speaker 1 (29:49):
We can't solve every problem, so but yeah, it is amazing.
Speaker 2 (29:54):
I get it, Mike. Where can the listeners get more information?
Speaker 4 (29:58):
The best place to go is our website www dot
KCl dot com. We're also they're on Facebook as well,
so find us on Facebook and follow us for the
for the latest news.
Speaker 1 (30:10):
Gotcha, all right, so listen, you'd be well. We appreciate
talking again. You're always so much fun. We've glad to
have you back anytime. You'd be well, have a good
rest of the weekend.
Speaker 3 (30:18):
Thank you very much.
Speaker 2 (30:19):
Ron, You're very welcome. I'm running any in the car.
Doctor We're back right after this.
Speaker 5 (30:22):
Don't go away.
Speaker 2 (30:45):
Welcome back, and again I want to thank you much.
Schluck from k C.
Speaker 1 (30:48):
Always good to speak with him, and you know, hear
the stories of what goes on in k CL. They
they make a very unique and great product and some
of the stories of how it fixes cooling systems is
just phenomenal, so I always enjoy that.
Speaker 2 (31:01):
I'm sure you do too.
Speaker 1 (31:02):
Amz Oil is in the news speaking about another industry leader.
Amz Oil is in the news. They've added a new
lubricant viscosity in the way of amzoil Synthetic zero W fifty.
It's specifically for ATV and UTV type vehicles.
Speaker 2 (31:18):
It's now available.
Speaker 1 (31:19):
It's offering writers of those vehicles a high performance upgrade
from the OEM branded oil and then it joins the
existing ten forty five W fifty ten W thirty five
W forty viscosities upgraded performance and protection for a wide
spectrum of applications. You know, Amzoil has been around a
very long time, they really have, and you know they've
always been able to one up everybody and come up
(31:41):
with some of the unique blends that we need and
to meet the demands of the vehicles as they change
and evolve. To the point the Amzoil Senior marketing manager
of Power Sports Len Groom, spoke at and he said,
we specifically engineered Amzoil' zero W fifty synthetic ATV motor
oil to address the unique demands of ATVs and UTVs
(32:02):
and these vehicles are regularly expected to perform demanding chores
and tackle tough terran all types of weather which challenges
the oil's ability to adequately protect your engine. So, you know,
for some of our ATV writers and our UTV writers,
and for those folks that are you know, Alaska, we're
on from Alaska to Florida and all points in between,
all varying weather, factions, writing all kinds of vehicles up
(32:23):
on farms, and you know, for recreation and so forth.
That amzoil is the source right that amazoil has created
all this and you can pick up more information online
at their website amzoil dot com and read all about
the wider range of oils for your ATVs as well
as your vehicles, cars, trucks, et cetera amzoil dot com.
I'm run an Ady in the Car Doctor. I'll be
(32:43):
back right after this. Don't go away, Hey, welcome back
(33:05):
Ronning and the Car Doctor.
Speaker 2 (33:07):
As we wind things down this hour.
Speaker 1 (33:09):
You know, also in the news two new products from
the folks over at Peak and it's interesting. There was
a study done about improving car safety and visibility and
it pointed out that the best way to improve car
safety and visibility, or one of the best ways, is
with wiper blades.
Speaker 3 (33:26):
Right.
Speaker 1 (33:26):
We take wiper blades for granted, but it was a
study by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration had estimated
that forty two thousand motor vehicle crashes occurred last year.
There's a ten percent increase from twenty twenty. They talk
about fatalities and so forth. You're three more You're three
times more likely to have an accident at night than
in daytime. Car and Driver magazine recently quoted and things
(33:48):
get grimmer and grimmer, they go on to say, and
they warn't about traffic deaths happening at night. And compromised
vision is a huge reason why, according to the NSC
National Safety Count, sold depth perception, color recognition, and vision
can be compromised in the dark, and the glare of
headlights from an oncoming vehicle contemporarily blind to driver. They
talk about using wiper blades, and you know, good quality
(34:09):
wiper blades, and Peak has taken that to heart. They've
increased the quality of their wiper blades. They've come out
with a wiper blade line. Peak Optics is the is
the formula. They've got more information on their website where
they talk specifically about how to clean a windshield and
what to do in order to maintain your wiper blades
and defrosting your windshield and things like that, so you
(34:31):
might want to check them out online. And they've also
come out with a line of headlight bulbs or you know,
power Vision Gold all right, the power Vision Gold headlight
bulbs are something new to market, so you want to
be aware there's another new product. And the folks over
at Peak and obviously they're innovators and what they do
the Peak power.
Speaker 2 (34:48):
Vision Gold headlamps feature a.
Speaker 1 (34:50):
High performance tuxt and tonguesten filaments and customized gas mixtures
combined with proprietary optical coating. So they've taken headlight designed
to heart and though they're doing a great job of it,
thank you for it. That about wraps it up for
me till the next time I'm running Indie and the
car Doctor reminding you the mechanics aren't expensive, they're priceless.
Speaker 5 (35:07):
