Speaker 3 (00:08):
We are the Breakfast Club.

Speaker 2 (00:09):
Justice out, she's sick and Lonaos is holding it down.
Let's getting some front page news. Start up for some
quick sports now, NFL, the Chiefs beat the Texans, the
Commanders beat the Lions, the Bills beat the Ravens, and
the Eagles beat the ram.

Speaker 4 (00:23):
That's the only only pick I got right was the Commanders.
I picked the Commanders to beat the Lions. I thought
the Ravens was gonna beat the Bills.

Speaker 1 (00:29):
Yep.

Speaker 2 (00:29):
Now the next game is Sunday at three and at
six o'clock.

Speaker 3 (00:33):
Now, also in college the Rams to beat the Eagles.

Nah, bro, I hate to say it. I think the Commanders.
You think commander's gonna be the eagles take the command.

Speaker 3 (01:01):
I don't think so.

Speaker 1 (01:01):
I take the command.

Speaker 3 (01:03):
I don't think so.

Speaker 1 (01:05):
The eagles got Hillilly, the command has got done.

Speaker 3 (01:07):
El what are y'all talking about? Good morning? More again?

Speaker 6 (01:13):
Good morning, Good morning, y'all. Listen.

Speaker 7 (01:15):
I know y'all want to talk about inauguration and all
of that. But before we get into that, just like Charlomagne,
I want him to pull my black car, Let's talk
about doctor Martin Luther King Day first, if that's all
right with y'all. So the US, of course, is reflecting
on the of rights icon as of yesterday. His son,
Martin Luther King the third says holidays. The holidays normally
mean a day of rest and relaxation.

Speaker 6 (01:36):
However, he also hopes people.

Speaker 7 (01:38):
Can work together and to make the world better and
the continuation of his father's work goes beyond politics.

Speaker 6 (01:44):
Let's hear more from MLKA the third.

Speaker 8 (01:47):
But this is really about continuing the work that my
dad and mom started to finish and create the beloved
community so that freedom, justice and equality becomes real for
all human kinds. Today we are more divided than we've
ever been. Civility has to be brought back to the
political landscape. We want to be fulfilled and we must

(02:08):
help create that climate, no matter who is the commander
in chief. But at this time I think that it
would be wonderful if we were engaged in service.

Speaker 7 (02:20):
So while Martin Luther King Day was created in nineteen
eighty three after the signing of legislation by President Ronald Reagan,
the movement to honor his birthday didn't actually begin until
fifteen Well, the movement to honor his birthday actually began
fifteen years early after just days after his assassination, and
Stevie Wonder actually played a major role in that with
his song Happy Birthday. In case you didn't know, I

(02:42):
was going to say, that's the rabbit hole that you
got to go down by yourself for.

Speaker 6 (02:45):
But we don't have time of that. But Bernie's King.

Speaker 7 (02:47):
She checked in talking about why how it was wonderful
that Mlkday fell on Inauguration Day, saying it reminds people
of the work of her father and those who are
unhappy with Trump's elections. He said America needs to focus
on the goal of her father, which was non violence.
Now switching gears, we are talking about inauguration and President

(03:10):
Biden he has made his departure out of the nation's capital.
He gave remarks at Joint Base Andrews following him leaving
the US capital via helicopter. The former president reflected on
his time in office and praised his staffers.

Speaker 6 (03:23):
That's here.

Speaker 7 (03:24):
Take a listen to Biden at Joint Base Andrews on
his departure.

Speaker 5 (03:28):
We're leaving office.

Speaker 1 (03:30):
We're not leaving the flight.

Speaker 9 (03:32):
You're smart, you're skilled, you're passionate. The country needs you again.
As Herbie say before, no president gets to choose the moment,
Dan or history, but they get to choose the team
that you do in the issue with what we chose
the best stamp team in the world.

Speaker 1 (03:50):
Hey man, good riddings.

Speaker 4 (03:52):
Okay, I know you all love your uncle Joe, but
if you ask me, he leaves behind a legacy of selfishness. Okay,
he should have been a transitional president who passed the
baton to a younger generation of leadership, but he decided
selfishly to run for a second term, only to end
up dropping out way too late, which didn't give Democrats
the time they needed to formulate a real plan.

Speaker 1 (04:09):
And allah, we are here now. Today.

Speaker 7 (04:12):
All right, Well, I was gonna say really quickly if
I can, there is a snowstorm that could be impacting
the South as far as Florida and the Gulf of
Mexico or excuse me, maybe we should name it, rename
it the Gulf of America.

Speaker 6 (04:25):
But we'll get into that a little later.

Speaker 7 (04:26):
Cold weather also affecting millions in Louisiana, Georgia, Florida, Alabama,
and Mississippi have all declared states of emergency. The storm
is expecting to bring snow, ice, freezing rain through Wednesday,
making travel treacherous. Officials are urging those to stay off
the road and keep a little water running through the
pipe so they to keep them from freezing and bursting

(04:46):
in Texas. In Texas, Houston's airports will be closed today
in a National Weather Service is warning that there should
be this a generational winter storm. So but we'll talk
more about inauguration ETCEA. There's a going on. I'm telling you,
it's just not enough time, y'all. Twenty five is under way.

Speaker 3 (05:03):
Let's go.

Speaker 1 (05:03):
Biden also pardoned his whole family yesterday.

Speaker 4 (05:06):
He partnered doctor Fauci, and the January sixth Committee gave
him preim Tove Pardons because he said, uh, you know,
he thought that Trump was gonna you.

Speaker 1 (05:14):
Know, prosecute. Yeah, what about what about Fannie May?

Speaker 3 (05:18):
What about Maryland?

Speaker 4 (05:20):
What about didn't get a pardon? But what about Fanny Willis?
What about Alvin Bragg? What about Tis James? All those
people that put their neck on their neck on the line.

Speaker 7 (05:30):
Who are coming out to the January six ers are
also coming out just you.

Speaker 1 (05:33):
Know, put his family his family.

Speaker 4 (05:35):
Yeah, I'm just talking about the folks that are Biden
part of that party at the moment.

Speaker 3 (05:38):
I just you know, it's crazy.

Speaker 1 (05:40):
It is definitely definitely crazy.

Speaker 2 (05:42):
All right, Well, get it off your chest. Eight hundred
five eight five one oh five one. If you need
to vent, phone lines are wide open again. Eight hundred
five eight five one oh five one.

Speaker 1 (05:51):
Call us up right now.

Speaker 3 (05:52):
It's the Breakfast Club. Good morning.

Speaker 1 (05:53):
Wake that ass up in the morning. Breakfast Club Morning.

Speaker 2 (05:57):
Everybody is the j Envy hilarious, Charlemagne the God. We
are the Breakfast Club Law on the roosa, filling in
for jests and let's get in some front page news. Now,
some quick sports. Chiefs beat the Texans, Commanders beat the Lions,
the Bills beat the Ravens and the Eagles beat the Rams.
All right, next week, well, this Sunday, I should say
the Eagles take on the Command Is that three? The

(06:17):
Bills take on the Chiefs at six thirty and College
Football National Championship Ohio State beating Notre Dame thirty four
to twenty three.

Speaker 7 (06:24):
Good morning Morgan, Good morning dj MV. Charlemagne the God
and Lauren LaRosa. How y'a feeling good?

Speaker 1 (06:31):
Harry, that's black and highly favor good.

Speaker 6 (06:33):
Love to hear it.

Speaker 7 (06:34):
All right, let's talk about this inauguration. I'm gonna just
go ahead and get a disclaimer out there, y'all. It's
just not enough time to get through all of it.
But I'm gonna do my best, Okay, So President Trump.

Speaker 6 (06:42):
Yes.

Speaker 7 (06:42):
President Trump has officially been sworn in as the forty
seventh president of these United States of America, saying the
tide of change is sweeping the country. During his inaugural address,
Trump said the Golden Age of America begins right now,
and he will declare a national emergency at this nation's
southern border now. Trump criticized the country's for sponds to
disasters and claimed that the fires have been burning for

(07:03):
weeks in Los Angeles without even a token of defense,
saying some of the wildfire victims were even in attendance
of his inauguration despite not having a home to go
home to. He also indicated that he will be changing
the name of landmarks, the Gulf of Mexico he wants
to be known as the Gulf of America, and Mount
Denali in Alaska, which was named for the native people

(07:23):
I believe in that land. He wants to be renamed
to Mount McKinley after the twenty fifth president, President William McKinley.
Trump also thanked black and Hispanic voters for their support
and mentioned doctor Martin Luther King Junior Day when he
spoke during his inauguration address, and he also spoke about
eliminating DEI efforts and said the government will only recognize

(07:46):
two biological sexes. Let's hear those comments from Trump's inaugural speech.

Speaker 10 (07:52):
From this day forward, our country will flourish and be
respected again all over the world. We will be the
envy of every nation, and we will not allow ourselves
to be taken advantage of any longer. Today is Martin
Luther King Day and his honor this will be a
great honor. But in his honor, we will strive together

(08:14):
to make his dream a reality. We will forge a
society that is color blind and merit based. As of today,
it will henceforth be the official policy of the United
States government that there are only two genders, male and female.

Speaker 4 (08:35):
If you're a minority who voted for Trump, how do
you feel about DEI initiatives being wiped away?

Speaker 1 (08:40):
I'm just asking a question.

Speaker 4 (08:41):
If you are a member of the LGBTQ community who
voted for Trump, how do you feel about a lot
of the executive orders you signed.

Speaker 1 (08:48):
Especially a lot of.

Speaker 4 (08:50):
I'm about to say theys, but I don't have to
say that anymore now, espucially of you transgenders. Who's supported
you know, Donald Trump? How does somebody like Caitlyn Jennifield.

Speaker 6 (09:00):
She said, congrat er?

Speaker 1 (09:02):
Wait, Bruce, how does Bruce feel?

Speaker 6 (09:03):
That's crazy?

Speaker 7 (09:05):
Wow?

Speaker 6 (09:05):
Yeah, we don't even know how Okay, Well.

Speaker 3 (09:07):
They knew what he was going to do. He wasn't
quiet about it. It's not like he was htt and
he said what he was going to do first date.

Speaker 1 (09:12):
Now that he you talking about, is Trump? Right? Bruce
was making sure But he's he's.

Speaker 11 (09:21):
Y'all.

Speaker 6 (09:22):
All right, all right, y'all.

Speaker 7 (09:24):
You know, TikTok was a huge thing, and that was
a huge topic over the weekend. We were all stressed out,
where a lot of people were stressed out over the
whole band watching what happened on Saturday night. It will
dark for about sixteen hours on Saturday night into Sunday morning. Well,
President Trump signed an executive order yesterday aimed at tackling
TikTok in his first time back in the Oval Office.
He signed the order, and uh, let's hear what Trump

(09:44):
had to say about TikTok.

Speaker 12 (09:46):
I may not do the dealer, I may do the deal.
TikTok is worthless, worthless if I don't approve it, I
said close.

Speaker 3 (09:55):
I learned that from the people that own it.

Speaker 12 (09:57):
If I do the deal, it's worth maybe.

Speaker 3 (09:59):
A trillion dollar trending. So if I do the deal
for I'm talking about doing it.

Speaker 11 (10:04):
For the United States. If I do the deal for
the United States, then I think we should get half.

Speaker 7 (10:09):
So basically, when users reopen the app, a message popped
up thanking them for their patients and praising Trump for
getting the app back online. But I just need you
guys to understand that this is only for about ninety days,
so we will see what happens as a result of
this Chinese this TikTok fan an effect. But as of
right now, if you have the app, I believe you
can use it while we're just sitting in limbo to

(10:32):
see what happens.

Speaker 1 (10:32):
Going to sell the Frank McCourt and Project Liberty.

Speaker 4 (10:35):
You know that Donald Trump is proposing that it's a
fifty to fifty joint venture that America owns half of it,
China owns half of it.

Speaker 1 (10:42):
I mean, go ahead and get the.

Speaker 4 (10:43):
Deal done, man, and give, give, give, give, give them
whatever kickback they need to make it happen.

Speaker 6 (10:50):
The way we was hurt. Though, we was hurt Saturday
night open not me because I ain't.

Speaker 1 (10:53):
Got no damn TikTok TikTok I got.

Speaker 6 (10:56):
I was in a Poconos when it was dark, but
I wasn't worried. I'm like, Trump, gon't bring it.

Speaker 3 (10:59):
We knew it was coming back.

Speaker 1 (11:00):
I don't know what he's doing.

Speaker 4 (11:01):
He knew.

Speaker 6 (11:01):
I knew it was coming back.

Speaker 7 (11:02):
Speaking of knowing what he's doing, he did sign an
executive order parting party pardoning I can't even get it
out pardoning roughly fifteen hundred people convicted in the January
sixth riots. Let's hear more from Trump on that executive
order for the j six rioters or what he refers
to him as hostages.

Speaker 12 (11:19):
So this is January sixth, These are the hostages, approximately
fifteen hundred for a partner, Yes, full partner, full part comptation,
full parton.

Speaker 3 (11:33):
We hope they get him.

Speaker 1 (11:34):
We hope they come out tonight.

Speaker 4 (11:36):
Frankly, he said he was going to do that, and
that's why his base loves him, you know, because he
keeps he keeps promises.

Speaker 1 (11:43):
And I'll tell you something else.

Speaker 4 (11:45):
The reason that one right there is so interesting is
because think about the message that sins if I do
something on behalf of my president, I more than likely
will get out because my president gonna have my back.

Speaker 3 (11:59):
Right I don't know what I'm saying.

Speaker 1 (12:01):
That's the message of.

Speaker 7 (12:02):
Since, yeah, well, if we can line up immigration, Trump's
executive order on immigration, so uh, switching gears. He's signed
a lot of executive orders yesterday, to be honest, one
of them in which is one immigration.

Speaker 6 (12:16):
He talked about.

Speaker 7 (12:19):
Designating drug cartels as foreign terrorists. Organizations and also ending
the birthright citizenship, which basically means that if you are
a migrant who came to this country and you had
a child, well that child is no longer going to
be considered a US citizen just because they were born
in this country. So let's hear more about Trump's executive
order on immigration.

Speaker 11 (12:41):
People have wanted to do this for years, so they
are now designated as terrorist organizations Foreign and Mexico probably
doesn't want to They're killing our people. They're killing two
hundred and fifty three hundred thousand American people a year.

(13:02):
It's ridiculous.

Speaker 1 (13:03):
We're the only.

Speaker 12 (13:04):
Country in the world that does this with birth right,
as you know, and it's just absolutely ridiculous.

Speaker 11 (13:11):
But you know, we'll say we think we have very
good grounds.

Speaker 7 (13:15):
Oh, of course, as mentioned before, he has declared a
national emergency at the US southern border, which will bring
additional Pentagon resources to the southern border, and he does
maintain that he is fine with legal immigration.

Speaker 6 (13:28):
Let's switch gears to elon Musk question.

Speaker 2 (13:30):
The birth right thing is in the constitution, so he
can't do an executive order against that.

Speaker 1 (13:33):
Correct.

Speaker 7 (13:34):
I'm not sure how that really works because everything is
so unprecedented, and not to mention, you have the Supreme
Court backing you. So he said he's got good grounds.
So let's see what he what what legal grounds he
actually has?

Speaker 4 (13:45):
I mean Jesus, Yeah, y'all keep talking about the law
in regard to Donald Trump.

Speaker 1 (13:49):
Donald Trump.

Speaker 6 (13:53):
Is that and it can be amended, That's the thing.
Escal it could be amended. He could put them in this.

Speaker 3 (14:00):
Yeah.

Speaker 7 (14:00):
So and being that he's actually in office, you know,
all of this falls under his official capacity that the
Supreme Court passed recently. So I mean, there's no telling
what he's going to be able to do. But yeah, uh,
Elon Musk, let's talk about Elon Musk really quickly. So
he said he's looking forward to making a lot of
changes once President Trump is takes office. And he spoke

(14:23):
at the rally at the Capitol One Arena in downtown Washington,
d C. And of course, you know, he's facing some
backlash for the way that he I guess saluted or uh.

Speaker 6 (14:34):
Yeah, it looked like.

Speaker 7 (14:35):
A Roman salute maybe similar to a Nazi salute, but
basically he put his hand over his his his his
hand over his heart and then went out to basically yeah,
embrace the crowd in a sense. So let's hear from
Elon Musk about, you know, basically how that salute kind
of sounded in that commentary.

Speaker 6 (14:53):
Elon Musk on salutes.

Speaker 5 (14:55):
You know, there there are elections that the elections that
come and go. Some some elections are you know, important,
some or not. But this one, this one, this one
really matters, and I just want to say thank you
for making it happen.

Speaker 1 (15:12):
Thank you. My heart goes out here.

Speaker 3 (15:23):
Yeah, it's crazy watching that whole thing. I will say this.

Speaker 2 (15:28):
I know Trump talked about unity and he wants to
unite the country, but during his inauguration all he did
was ish all over Joe Biden and Kamala Harrison.

Speaker 6 (15:35):
So awkward. I was watching him like, this is so awkward.

Speaker 1 (15:38):
They got to just sit there while he basically says,
y'all couldn't get nothing done.

Speaker 3 (15:41):
Move over.

Speaker 6 (15:41):
Why y'all even here?

Speaker 4 (15:42):
Why you're mad at him for telling the truth, because
I'm because the situation is Republicans treat democrats the way
democrats you treat Republicans, and I've been saying that they
want to be nice. You know what's so ill about
what happened this weekend. Michelle Obama said, when they go low,
we go high. Sheelle Obama decided to go low and
say f all of y'all. I ain't showing up, but
y'all still going high for what reason? Michelle Obama's letting

(16:04):
y'all know, listen, I believe this man is a fascist.

Speaker 1 (16:08):
I believe this man is the threat to democracy.

Speaker 4 (16:10):
I'm not about to show up and play nights with y'all,
but y'all still going high in for what reason?

Speaker 1 (16:14):
You right?

Speaker 2 (16:15):
Four years ago, he wouldn't even get in a call
with nobody. He said, I'm not even coming.

Speaker 1 (16:19):
And you know why, because he said the election was stolen.

Speaker 4 (16:21):
Donald Trump said, he still says he still said so
why So you know why I respect what he did
in twenty twenty because he said something and he acted
like he believed it, Unlike the Democratic leaders.

Speaker 1 (16:32):
That we have now.

Speaker 4 (16:33):
If you say something, act like you believe it. Michelle
Obama said something and she's acting like she believes it.
Barack Obama the opposite, President Biden, the opposite. I don't
respect that. I respect Donald Trump up there giving his
innauguration speech and telling all of them to their face,
y'all ain't pissed.

Speaker 6 (16:49):
It was such an eating Leeku's Housewives moment, like you couldn't.

Speaker 1 (16:53):
I was watching. I'm like, man, I wanted somebody would
say his base.

Speaker 6 (16:57):
Look, they couldn't even They didn't even move their face.
I'm not gonna get a face from common and nothing.

Speaker 1 (17:02):
His face loved it.

Speaker 4 (17:03):
Barack Obama walked in, They bill, the Clintons walked in.

Speaker 7 (17:06):
They booed like about the fact that he acknowledged all
of them. He acknowledged all of them except for Mike Pence.

Speaker 6 (17:12):
What was that about? You know what I'm saying, Why
would I.

Speaker 4 (17:14):
Acknowledge the man I said? I told my followers that
was was garbage. He didn't want a certified. He wouldn't
refuse the certified the results of the election. Yo, He's
saying he keeps the same energy he does.

Speaker 6 (17:27):
Well, that's okay, keeping the same energy.

Speaker 7 (17:29):
And I'm what I'm thinking, and I can't speak for
all the politicians, but what I'm thinking is that they
want to maintain a level of the korum and a
level of tradition.

Speaker 6 (17:36):
Are you saying throw it all out the window?

Speaker 4 (17:37):
The korum and tradition is done? Morgan like like I'm
old school, right. I was born in nineteen hundred and
seventy eight, so I remember movies like New Jack City.
I remember when they bought in the Iced Tea and
the other cop and they told him for New Jack,
for New Jack problems, you need New Jack solutions. And
that's what we need right now, because you know this,
the whole decorum and trying to do things the right

(17:59):
way is not working for the Democratic Party in any way,
shape or form.

Speaker 3 (18:03):
And did we mention that the Reverend which.

Speaker 2 (18:07):
That was going on, that was going off that with
these Martin Luther King, that was acting like it was
Martin Luther King, And you know.

Speaker 6 (18:13):
Them people close their eyes.

Speaker 1 (18:14):
They probably thought it was Jesus Christ. They can't tell
support Jesus. I felt embarrassed for him.

Speaker 7 (18:18):
I didn't he knew who he signed up for, Jesus
Taylor Reals, excuse me, Taylor, excuse me. Lorenzo Sewell, it's his.

Speaker 1 (18:26):
Name, thank you.

Speaker 6 (18:27):
Jesus couldn't get out.

Speaker 7 (18:28):
But yeah, all right, jaw Look, I can't call it.
I don't have all the answers. You know what I'm saying.

Speaker 6 (18:34):
Here we go, day one.

Speaker 3 (18:35):
It is what it is.

Speaker 7 (18:36):
Uh Trump presidency. So we'll see, you know, we'll see
what happens. But in the meantime, i'm gonna keep you posted.
And that's your front page news. I'm Morgan would wake
that ass up in the morning.
