(00:00):
It's Mojoe in the morning. I'malways amazed by these stories. It's unbelievable

(00:04):
that this can happen. But waschecking this story out on the metro To
Trade News Instagram about the Michigan womanwho was living in a grocery store.
Yeah, living, liv yes, living. But here's the thing. Interesting
thing not in the grocery store.Like like, if I was going to
live in the grocery store, I'dbe probably maybe the frozen food section and

(00:29):
eating every ice cream bar. Thosedrumsticks are like my favorite. But no,
she was living in the sign ontop of the grocery store at a
Family Fair grocery store in Midland.Hold, let me play these sign in
the sign. So the signs likethis a frame sign. You know,
I don't know if you've ever seena Family Fair store before. I think
they're owned by like Spartan stores, right, and they have this like it

(00:53):
almost looks like a church steeple upat the top. And I guess inside
of this sign they had like allthe accommodations you need for home, like
the Hunchback of Notre Dame. Thatkind of might guess exactly, but with
power, I don't think the hunchbackhad had a place to plug in his
cell phone or take a listen.I question was, how in the world

(01:15):
was she getting up and down withnobody noticing. Yeah, that's just one
of many questions regarding the discovery thata woman was living inside a Midland store's
rooftop sign. That discovery was madein late April as contractors were doing work
on the roof of the Family Farestore in midlest She told police she had
been living in that confined space forabout a year and Terry, it seems

(01:38):
people who work in that shopping plazahave known about this for a while.
Yes, ma'am, there are peoplethat have known the woman have been getting
up on that roof. But it'sstill surprising how she made a little home
in that Family Fair sign. Atfirst, I didn't believe it. It's
like, how in the world didshe get her furniture up there? It
was all there inside the Family Fairas Peaks sign. The thirty four year

(02:00):
old woman had what she needed tolive, a computer, printer, coffee
maker, even a houseplant. There'san outlet on the roof so she could
plug in and get electricity. SarahAsseth recently moved from Colorado to Midland.
I go here all the time,so it was just interesting to know that
she could have been up there aswe were walking in and out. Midland
police say the woman was cooperative andagreed to leave when she was found living

(02:23):
in the sign on April twenty third. By the way, that's nice to
know that she's not squatting in thesign, right, She's agree and I'm
gonna get out of there. There'sa small access door to get inside the
enclosure. They say. Employees atFamily Fair referred to her as the roof
Ninja. Paul Habile, who worksnearby, had another name for her.
We just kind of referred to asthe ski mask girl. He says.

(02:44):
She was seen often in the plazaarea over the past year dressed in black,
and she also wore goggles. Theyhad called the police a few times.
By the time the cops got here, she was already gone. Tammy
Stare of Midland still has questions andas busy at it. By the way,
I'm glad he went back to Tammybecause Tammy sounded like a colorful one
to talk to. Is here allthe time that no one would see her

(03:07):
going up and down the building,so yeah, I wonder if she had
the ladder back there or something.Aebile says. Staff at Family Fair have
a theory on how she was gettingon top of the building. They feel
that she was climbing the conduit inback and that's how she was getting up
to the roof. Police have advisedthe woman that she shouldn't return to her

(03:27):
year long perch. It's news toeveryone else, but if you've worked in
the plaza, you've known about thisfor a while. Isn't that amazing.
I'm actually kind of impressed at thecreativity and just brazonous that she Yeah,
and it is sad that she's homelessand she's looking for place. But I
got to tell you she had ajob, and she had a car,
and she had you know, cellphones and stuff like that, and she

(03:50):
just couldn't afford I against the rentor didn't want to afford the rent,
and so she was living there. You know, I think you rented out,
now, you know what I mean, Like let her stay. She
wasn't Bob and anybody ahead. It'scalled Family Fair, like rock, he
was just there. You go,Yeah, what were we gonna say,
Kevin? But I don't know howyou walk past it and even think that,

(04:11):
oh, I could live there. That's my question is how did she
know that it was even? Yeah, I knew people that used to sleep
in weird spots at their offices.I had a buddy of mine used to
work for Quickened Loans and he hada corner cube and he said the view
was spectacular, but nobody would seehim over there because they didn't have a
lot of people in that section. And he would sleep underneath his desk.
He would like make like a littlebed area there because he worked the laid

(04:34):
shift in the early shifts, andhe would go and he'd just like lay
down there and grab a pillow, and it was like amazing. Do you
think this woman at night would godown into the store and go grocery shopping?
I don't think she had as youknow, that's an interesting question.
I don't think she had access toin the store. I think it was
just the sign that she had.But God, if she did, oh,

(04:57):
I'd have that she has made.Doris. I if I have that
many Dorrito bags right by me,you know what I mean? Doritos?
How do you say doritos? Doritossaid it with an emphasized. Oh,
Dorito's is the name of a ladydoor. Rito's is the Freedo La brand?
Yes? What so? Wait?So what is uh? What would

(05:20):
be your if you were going tolive in a grocery store, where would
you live? What? What areawould you live? Whole foods? Oh
gosh, absolutely pre made department. The gluten free options are endless. Hey
Keith, what's going on? Howyou doing, buddy? Oh? Not
bad? Ready for the events tonight? Oh nice? Coming to our big
hotel hook up? Oh yeah, fantastic. What's happening? Oh? Nothing?

(05:45):
You know. The thing is theconcept don't go back. But if
the store doesn't banners, Well, that's the thing I was saying, thinking,
technically she could squat she has everyright to be there. They have
to, like, they have tosend her her an eviction notice because she
can just claim that that's her house. Yeah, you know, and then

(06:05):
if she and then if she's gettingmail there, oh yeah, that's I
wonder where she got her mail? She had to have a PO box?
Yeah, at the post office. That would be interesting. I mean,
then again, who checks mail anymore? Right? You know, That's not
what I'm not worried about. Ilove. I actually do love the the

(06:25):
fact that this woman was able tolive there and survived winters, which means
it must have a little bit ofa warmer temperature in there. Maybe she
had a space heat or something.Andy, what's up? What woman do
you know named Dorito? That's agood question. That's a great question.
Listen. I have a speech impediment, and you're making fun of me right

(06:46):
now, I don't, Doris.Come on, well, hey, the
question for you real quick, Andy, Andy, if you could live at
any grocery store KP picked Whole Foods, I'd pick Kroger obviously, where would
you pick? Uh local? It'sWestbourne Market, Westbourne. Oh and they've

(07:06):
got that that cute little like briefpart two that you could live up.
Yeah, it's not about anything, but it's because I worked there. Which
one? Which one do you workat? Dear mind? Okay, all
right, thank
