Tramite la risoluzione, che ha portata non vincolante, i deputati hanno espresso la volontà di inserire il diritto all'aborto nella Carta dei diritti fondamentali dell'UE, condannando il regresso sui diritti delle donne e i tentativi di limitare o rimuovere gli ostacoli esistenti per la salute e i diritti sessuali e riproduttivi, nonché la parità di genere a livello globale, anche negli Stati membri.
