Rionegrino, nacido el 9 de enero de 1927, en Lamarque, (el cual al momento de nacer y hasta 1942, llevó el nombre de “Pueblo Nuevo de la Colonia de Choele Choel”). Hijo de Miguel Esteban Walsh y Dora Gil, ambos de ascendencia irlandesa, fue y es para muchos el mejor ejemplo de intelectual comprometido y ético que ha dado la Argentina en los últimos 50 años, un modelo a imitar no sólo por su compromiso con la verdad, sino también por su valentía como periodista, investigador, escritor, crítico y militante revolucionario.
