La storia dei Fugger è da sempre legata alla città di Trento ed è proprio qui che incontriamo il giovane rampollo Georg Fugger, che intorno al 1600 sposò la nobile trentina Elena Madruzzo. La coppia andò a vivere in un palazzo, costruito per le nozze, che oggi si trova in via Manci. L’edificio fu in seguito venduto al generale Mattia Galasso, comandante in capo dell'esercito di Ferdinando II e per questo motivo oggi si chiama Fugger-Galasso.
