family vacation and they've been together overtwenty five years, and he came back
and told us he's going to filefor divorce because they were on the beach

He said, just with time andgrowing apart and not being interested in

And during her last fight, Ijust came out with it and told
her I want a divorce, butshe was totally upset and did not want

to do that at all. Andso now I feel stuck and I need
out. I'm done. Can youtell me about the failing? Stuck?
Why stuck? I just feel likethere's no changees that have been made,
and I just feel like the waywe've been kind of communicating is just like

it's not getting anywhere. It justfeels like we're in the same place in
our relationship. Well, you talkabout you know, you've been doing things
differently, but I haven't really heardthat you've communicated with her differently, and
I wonder what that would look like. Yeah, and I guess I kind

of struggle with explaining more how Ifeel and trying to really be honest and
express how I feel, and sometimesI think it just comes out as maybe
more defensive and upset, and yeah, it's kind of difficult. Well,
one day, I think that whenwe don't express ourselves for whatever reason,

it builds and builds and builds,and then we find ourselves finally saying things
in a way that me we maybedon't want to, that we don't really
feel comfortable with. In hindsight.In my family, we call it popping
off. I like that. It'slike the champagne bottle. There's so much
pressure that builds up and then yeah, I mean, do you think and

if you know that you're ready toleave the marriage, you know that.
But I do think that it wouldbe better for both of you if you
had some honest, direct conversations ratherthan just squirting around things and hoping that
your partner will kind of get it. Yeah, that totally makes sense.

I have this friends, well they'redivorced now, but they went on a
family vacation and they've been together overtwenty five years, and he came back
and told us he's going to filefor divorce because they were on the beach
in this beautiful location and he saidthey had nothing to talk about and at
that how do you get to thatpoint? But he said the same thing.

He said, just with time andgrowing apart and not being interested in
each other anymore, basically, andit can be super slow and we don't
realize it. And I think that'swhy it's important that we do maintain an
awareness of our relationship and our partnerand be mindful. Yeah, that makes
