Speaker 1 (00:02):
And now from the New York Giants broadcast team, It's
John Smelk.

Speaker 2 (00:12):
Good morning, gentlemen. Hey, Hey, what's that Fellas.

Speaker 1 (00:17):
Congrats on a well on the wind. You guys needed that.
The postgame show probably a little more positive last night.

Speaker 2 (00:23):
Yeah, though our first phone call complains about some random
Brian deep All pre call on a second down with
like twelve minutes to go in the fourth quarter. I'm like, dude, really,
after in Seattle, that's gonna be your complaint. But yes,
general is speaking a much more positive post game show.

Speaker 1 (00:38):
Explain why the blocked field goal that was turned for
a touchdown was not a penalty.

Speaker 2 (00:44):
It was not a penalty viause. Isaiah Simmons left over
the offensive lineman. There was no contact made between him
and the offensive lineman. If he touches one of the
protectors on that play, it's the leverage play and that's
the penalty. But I guess Michael Golbriel, Well, by the way,
this is a great story. So he was the Jets
special teams coordinator last year when the Jets left over

(01:07):
a Giants offensive lineman in their October game, the block
Graham Gano's potential game winning field ball, so he saw
something on tim. I imagine that the Seahawks did something
similar with one of their linemen going very low and
two of the Gerants defensive linemen uh Nacho where Keen
Union Bruchez and Dexter Lawrence Mate or the offensive lineman

(01:29):
go to the ground. It gave up DAA. Simmons, who's
not normally even on the fields block, but he's one
of the teams with athletes, a chance to leap over
them and get the game. Saving Blackfield had turned into
a great game clinching interception.

Speaker 1 (01:43):
I heard. I heard Dave all After say he wanted
his special team's got to pull the trigger on that.

Speaker 3 (01:48):
Play, and the special teams guys like one more, let's
do one more. We'll keep baiting him so much.

Speaker 2 (01:52):
It has to be done. When you land after a jump,
you gotta land.

Speaker 3 (01:55):
That's the other part.

Speaker 2 (01:56):
You have to land, right, Yeah, well, what do you
mean You have to land.

Speaker 1 (01:59):
Like you have to otherwise I thought if you didn't land, yeah,
land when you jump over the line, whoever your.

Speaker 3 (02:04):
Penalty, if you just went, if you just went airborne.

Speaker 2 (02:07):
Or the kick, I mean, well, well yeah, I mean yeah,
you have to land on the ground. You can't touch
the offensive lineman.

Speaker 3 (02:13):
Yeah, okay, correct, but it was it was a crazy play.

Speaker 1 (02:16):
I thought Daniel Jones looked pretty good, and they did
all this without Molik Neighbors. I don't want to get
ahead of ourselves, but what we see him against Cincinnati.

Speaker 2 (02:24):
Yeah, I would think so that would be another week
off the concussion. He was apparently making progress towards the
end of last week, according to Brian Dables. So look,
with head injuries, you never know. You can have stepbacks
and take longer than this than you think. But I
would feel okay about that. I think you would think
he's gonna get back at time, given the history of
bost head injuries around the league. But look, they had
their best offensive game of the year, over four hundred

(02:46):
twenty yards in total offense in a game not only
without Neighbors, but without there starting running back Devin Singletary.
Rookie Tyron Tracy steps and he does a fantastic job.
So just a really really good offensive performance by the team.

Speaker 1 (03:00):
He has to really like get back to five hundred here.
Who knows that Cincinnati, Well, Cincinnati's won in four so
I mean there's a real chance to get back to three,
hun to three and three. What about Dallas over Pittsburgh, John,
that surprised you at all last night?

Speaker 2 (03:15):
Yeah, you're right by the way and the Bengals defense
and we'll all more, but that's on Friday. But the
Bengals defense has really struggled this year, so uh. But
their offense can score, so it could be a fun,
high scoring game Sunday night. Uh yeah, I look, I was,
I was an idiot. I stayed up and I watched
that game last night, so I was up until like
one o'clock in the morning or whatever it was. But
Dallas came out. They played a physical brand the football.

(03:37):
They ran the ball for the best they have all year,
and they made a huge play at the end. You know,
the second and goal at the one, Rico Daddle tried
to go over the top, but Landon Roberts makes this
unbelievable hit forces a fumble. Then they get two chances,
third and goal, fourth and goal at the four yard line.
The first one is incomplete. Dack throws a low pass
to Jaylen Tolbert. He could have come up with it,

(03:57):
and then on four down his pump option didn't seem
to be there. He managed to hold the ball long enough,
maybe a really nice throw to Covert and that's a
big win for Balance to go to three and two.

Speaker 1 (04:07):
And did Slam do anything this weekend?

Speaker 3 (04:12):
Aaron Rodgers a new player coach, Uh.

Speaker 2 (04:15):
You know it is defense are not very pleased right now. Look,
the Vikings are very good. I think we've learned that
right so, and their defense has given every team they
played a lot of trouble. So I would caution them
not to take too much out of that game. But
would have shot me if Aaron Rodgers sat down next
to Mike mccagnan on the plane ride home from London

(04:36):
and started talking about Devonte Adams. Though it was not
surprise me.

Speaker 1 (04:39):
I don't know is this what people in Green Bay saw?
Because I'm seeing a grumpy kind of pissed off but
like maybe a little bit of a dink.

Speaker 3 (04:48):
And Aaron Rodgers was he like this in Green Bay?
Or is this in New York?

Speaker 1 (04:51):
Thing?

Speaker 2 (04:52):
I think towards the end he was. Look, Aaron Rodgers
is a unique personality. He's not, you know, gonna be
warm and fuzzy. Look, Tom Brady was a warm and
fuzzy either. You'll need you'll need your quarterback to be
warm and fuzzy, and that's fine, but the production has
to match, which it hasn't well.

Speaker 1 (05:08):
And his in his his his throws were on the
money yesterday, most of the most of the most ones
that were they missed.

Speaker 3 (05:15):
He just he.

Speaker 1 (05:17):
Almost shows up his teammates and his coaches with his actions. Now,
if you were to call Tom Brady a cry baby
with calls, I'll give you that, But I don't think
you ever showed up Belichick team player.

Speaker 2 (05:26):
Oh no, no, no, though absolutely, I just been in
terms of not being all smiling and happy all the time.
But yeah, I agree, Rogers kind of has his body
language and stuff like that. Sometimes it's not the best
on the sideline.

Speaker 3 (05:36):
I agree with that.

Speaker 1 (05:37):
So I'm looking at the scores from yesterday. I think
we've had two blowouts. Is just the tightest any NFL
season has ever been as far as game you know
that the margin of win winning it.

Speaker 2 (05:49):
Yeah, we had our pregium at three twenty five yesterday,
so Johnson can see us and I have red zone
on on my little iPad as we're as we're as
we're doing the pregame show, and you had just some
unbelievable one o'clock finishes between the Bills and the Texans.
The Colts Jaguars game was great to the very end.
I'm even forgetting one of them. Cincinnati Baltimore, right, and
then Bill Techins. All those games were just fantastic. So yeah,

(06:12):
I mean, I don't think there's a I mean maybe
the vikings is that that there's one great dominant team
in the league. I think this is what the league wants, though. Man,
there's a lot of parody and I think we're gonna
see tonight that the Chiefs, with all the injuries on offense,
with their weapons, they're not a dominant team. So I
think this is exactly what the league wants, and it
makes for her compelling Sunday Football.

Speaker 1 (06:31):
John, I should we read into the fact that Taylor
Swift wasn't at Travis' birthday party?

Speaker 2 (06:35):
I was not aware she was not at Travis's birthday party. Sorry,
that's okay. I mean, I mean because I realized she
I think she's also missed the last two games. Is
that correct?

Speaker 3 (06:46):
Yes, she'll be down.

Speaker 2 (06:53):
Is she on some kind of like trip with her girlfriends,
but she's her tours not going on or something like,
I did.

Speaker 3 (06:58):
Hear that she did.

Speaker 1 (06:59):
She did spend time, would do a lipa when she
could have been at a game a couple of weeks ago.

Speaker 3 (07:02):
But I think we'll see her tonight.

Speaker 1 (07:04):
John balance, everybody balance work life balance exactly.

Speaker 2 (07:07):
Thanks Johnny to say Taylor Swift will be attending the
game of Borna.

Speaker 1 (07:12):
Quinn's the source, But come on, okay, John Quinn in Canterra, Yeah,
that was the plash.

Speaker 3 (07:27):
You guys were like electic

Speaker 2 (07:31):
Mornings on picks one oh six,
