Speaker 1 (00:00):
This is Gary and Shannon and you're listening to kfi
AM six forty, the Gary and Shannon Show on demand
on the iHeartRadio app. Who is this age is being
told by their doctor, go get yourself a colonoscopy. So
I fielded more texts this year about like have you
done this? I gotta do this, I'm going in blah blah.

(00:21):
But this is a first. This morning, my bff Katie, Well,
first of all, her husband sends this picture of her
in the hospital bed and I mean the post. She's
striking the pose for the procedure, like ass up in
the hospital bed pretty much. Oh honey, oh honey. But
what a beautiful smile. And then I got these pictures

(00:44):
to let me know everything was okay, oh my, And
that was a first. And since I have to see
the pictures, you have to see the picture.

Speaker 2 (00:51):
That's some splunking going on.

Speaker 1 (00:54):
I bet you you met Katie. I bet you never
thought you'd see this version.

Speaker 2 (01:00):
You're right anyway, and it's clean, it's all clean.

Speaker 3 (01:04):
Good.

Speaker 2 (01:06):
Gary and Shannon k if I AM six forty live
everywhere on the iHeartRadio app. Tuesday, November eleventh, It's Veterans Day,
we'll talk about that later. We will also be talking
about the storm that's going to be rolling in the
first pretty significant, if you will, storm that rolls through
god California.

Speaker 1 (01:23):
We're going to get some rain, but it's okay. We
have the voice of reason. He's like a comforting blanket
protecting us from the storm. It is our favorite, your favorite,
Henry de Carlo from kt LA.

Speaker 2 (01:35):
Henry, how are you.

Speaker 4 (01:38):
Gary Shannon, I'm doing great. Thank you for having me on.
I was a little nervous. I thought maybe I was
gonna have to share my colonosophy pictures. But I'm happy.
We're just talking leather here. I just you know, it's
a part of life as we get older, I know, so.
But yo, we're going to keep it to a different storm.
We'll talk about the rain coming our way. That's that.

Speaker 1 (02:00):
Totally safe to bring in your pictures if you want to.

Speaker 4 (02:03):
Well, you know, it's it's one of those it's funny.
I couldn't help but laugh because it is. It's like, Okay,
what am I supposed to do with these pictures? What
am I looking at? And what do I really want
to look at these things? But yeah, it's a part.
It's a part of life. But listen, we're going to
talk about the storm. I appreciate you having me on,
and I know you're gonna get the Veterans Day, but
I do want to take the take this, take this

(02:25):
moment to just thank all of our veterans because it
is a very important day. And want to thank all
of them for their service and of course the family
members that support them. So on this Veterans Day, thank
you so much for having me and and yeah, let's
talk about the storm we have. We have rain in
the forecast, which is big news here right when we
get southern California rain. But it's looking like a pretty
good storm. It's going to move in on Thursday and Friday,

(02:48):
hopefully not into Saturday, but some of the latest computer
models in maybe Saturday we get a little rain too.
But yeah, a storm on the horizon. So get ready for.

Speaker 2 (02:58):
Big changes when we see storms like this, I mean
ones where we haven't seen a lot of rain this season.
Does this help?

Speaker 3 (03:06):
Is it?

Speaker 2 (03:07):
Is it? I mean, is it a potential danger in fire,
burn scars, et cetera.

Speaker 4 (03:12):
You know, I think when we start talking about you know,
the burn scar areas, we always get a little nervous
when we throw a chance that's thunderstorms in because that's
kind of the outlier. We can't I tell everyone that
will listen. You know, thunderstorms are the hardest things to predict.
We can just kind of tell you when the conditions
are there, but we can never tell you when they're
going to happen, where they're gonna happen, so that potentially

(03:35):
is always an issue. This will be a decent storm
we should get, you know, many areas of half an
inch to an inch, maybe a little bit more. So
we'll call it kind of a moderate, slightly strong storm
if we get everything, but we'll have stronger storms and
I and I personally think we'll be okay. The only
outlier would be, you know, a thunderstorm being thrown in there,

(03:58):
and that's certainly impossibility.

Speaker 1 (04:01):
We're going to be all right, is what I'm hearing
in your voice. We're gonna be okay. We're going to
weather this and we're gonna be better for it.

Speaker 4 (04:07):
On the other side, we're gonna be all right. We
needed and then, you know, to answer your question, Gary too,
I apologize. So the water year for California, well, the
water year starts September first. It's not January first to
December thirty first, so we're about a month and a
half in. We did have a pretty good storm. Was
it early October, late September, I can't remember, but we

(04:29):
did get a storm that I gave us a little
over an inch. I think this storm will be very
similar to that one. So with any luck, we could be,
you know, a good two and a half inches into
the rain year, and that would be a good start.

Speaker 2 (04:44):
That's good.

Speaker 4 (04:46):
Yeah, that would be a good start. We know, sometimes
we can wait a little bit December, you know, it's
kind of hit or miss in January. February is usually
when we get the bulk of our rain. So think
I think we can get some rain out of this one,
measurable rain and be a couple of inches. You know,
we'll be aheads to the water year, even though we're
a month and a half in. But that's a good start.

Speaker 2 (05:08):
I don't want to blow any early surprises. But there's
a good chance that Henry de Carlo comes into studio
next week. What I'm just saying, wait, I can't I
can't divulge the.

Speaker 1 (05:18):
That's like saying you're getting a miniature pony and then
not coming through. So you better come through with this.

Speaker 2 (05:25):
Still in some negotiations in terms of the contract that
he has some requirements. He's got a rider that specifically
lays out the kind of fily he requires.

Speaker 1 (05:32):
Is it like he will only eat grain Eminem's. So
he's like Mariah Carey, yes very much.

Speaker 4 (05:39):
He's worth it well, but you have to remember, I
get up generally at two o'clock, so it's happy hour
if I come in there at nine ten. So I'm thinking,
I'm thinking, you know, a good little bourbon or something.

Speaker 1 (05:52):
No, I had you Peggs for like a martini.

Speaker 4 (05:55):
No, no, not really a martini guy. I'm actually kind
of a beer in But if I do partake in
the spirit, it's usually bourbon. That's my You know, a
nice bourbon on the rocks, does me just fine?

Speaker 2 (06:07):
Yep, all right, we can do that.

Speaker 1 (06:08):
But you've got a guy here from Kentucky. Is that
where bourbon is from? Right?

Speaker 2 (06:12):
Okay?

Speaker 1 (06:13):
Yeah, we got a guy here from Kentucky. So we'll
get some good bourbon in here for.

Speaker 4 (06:16):
You, very ky, But that's not part of my writer.
I'm pretty easy, actually, so I'm looking forward to it.
If the opportunity comes up and it works out. I
think it would be a lot of a lot of fun.
I like to see how the magic happens. You know,
we're on the other side of the dial here, so
we don't get to see all the magic. So I'm
looking forward to it.

Speaker 2 (06:37):
Well, Henry, thanks for your time today.

Speaker 4 (06:42):
You're very welcome anytime. I appreciate you guys having me on.
You know, I love you guys, and you know we
love you KTLA KFI and so appreciate the time and
you guys have a great day and look forward to
someday meeting in person.

Speaker 1 (06:56):
How's that that sounds great? Carlos guy over there, Chris Shabble,
I like him too. I like everybody over there, Glenn, Jessica,
Meghan Ginger, Ginger's great, Andy has a show on Andy's
Great has a show. Rich is great. Yeah, I mean

(07:16):
that's what we're just moving. Don't forget Aaron. I don't
even need last names, you know what I mean. It's
like freaking ropper room right now.

Speaker 2 (07:22):
The latest time the government shutdown, hot shutdown talk when
we come back.

Speaker 5 (07:28):
You're listening to Gary and Shannon on demand from KFI
AM six forty.

Speaker 1 (07:35):
You are naked pretty much. You took off your your jacket.
You're wearing short sleeves in here for now.

Speaker 2 (07:44):
You know that will change.

Speaker 1 (07:45):
Yeah, but you're owning it. You're like spreading out. You're like,
I am warm. You are Mike McDaniel in Buffalo in December.

Speaker 2 (07:53):
I'm not cold.

Speaker 1 (07:54):
You're cold, speaking of it's a little bit unhinged, is it.

Speaker 3 (07:59):
No?

Speaker 1 (08:00):
I mean, a big win for the Dolphins over the
Bills at home on Sunday. What a trap game. That's
exactly what a trap game looks like. Kids, But how
much fun for the Dolphins fan to get one over
the Bills on what has been a miserable season. But no,
they were out there, did I.

Speaker 2 (08:21):
Yes, that was perfect.

Speaker 1 (08:24):
So there were shots of Mike McDaniel in his car
trolling a known Buffalo Bills bar in Miami after the
game of him driving by and there's like Bills fans outside.
So he's asked at his press conference yesterday, was that
you driving around like gloating at the Bills bar? And

(08:47):
he says, well, I do live in the area, and
you know, AI is real.

Speaker 2 (08:51):
AI is a real thing.

Speaker 1 (08:52):
He would not deny that it was him and I'm thinking,
how I mean part of me like I love an
unhinged head coach. I just do. I love it. I
think it's part of what the brand should be. You know,
Mike Singletary taking off his pants. I love that stuff.
Jim Harbaugh losing his you know all of it, Jim Mora,

(09:15):
you know all of that stuff.

Speaker 2 (09:16):
I love it.

Speaker 1 (09:17):
But a coach in his own time, he's not at
the podium, he's on his own time, he's in his
own vehicle, he's going home to his family, and he
stops by a Bill's bar on the way home to
gloat about a win in a dismal season. Unhinged I think,
I think on the on the side of unhinge, that's
too far.

Speaker 2 (09:36):
Maybe that's why they kept him. They said they're going
to keep him for the year. Yeah, that's why they
kept them.

Speaker 4 (09:41):
Huh.

Speaker 1 (09:41):
Okay.

Speaker 2 (09:42):
We have a chance for you to win a thousand
dollars here, say you pick it out.

Speaker 5 (09:45):
Now your chance to win one thousand dollars. Just enter
this nationwide keyword on our website.

Speaker 2 (09:50):
Win.

Speaker 5 (09:51):
That's win wi m Edward now at KFI AM six
forty dot com. Slash cash Howard by Sweet James accident attorneys.
If you're hurting it accident, winning is everything, call the
winning attorneys at Sweet James one eight hundred nine million.
That's one eight hundred nine million or sweet James dot com.

Speaker 2 (10:08):
Keyword again win. It goes on the website. Keep an
eye on your email since that's how winners are notified.
Today you will notice that traffic is lighter. And it's
not just because traffic is lighter, it's because it's Veterans Day.
So a lot of people have the day off today
and we wanted to open up our talkback messages to

(10:29):
anybody that you would like to honor today on this
Veterans Day. So if you're listening on the app, you
can hit that little red button it's got a white
microphone on it and tell us maybe you are the veteran,
tell us where you served in with branch, whatever. Perhaps
you have family members that you would like to shout
out as well. We'll be playing those throughout the course

(10:51):
of the day today to honor Veterans Day. President Trump
also and the Vice President. We're already at Arlington National Cemetery.
They laid to a reth the tomb of the Unknowns
this morning, just a short time ago to mark Veterans Day,
and there's a bunch of different events throughout southern California,
especially at some of those national cemeteries that are around.

(11:12):
There's a parade here in the valley and sort of things.

Speaker 1 (11:14):
So while the government shutdown may soon be a thing
of the past, the people in the no say this
could leave air travel in a choke hold for months
and maybe years to come until a deal is officially inked. Airlines,
they say, must continue to follow the FAA's emergency order

(11:36):
to incrementally reduce flight capacity at forty major US airports.
We'll talk about what that's going to look like when
we come back with their time at months is crazy
years anyway, we'll tell you what we find out when
we come back.

Speaker 5 (11:51):
You're listening to Gary and Shannon on demand from KFI
AM six forty.

Speaker 3 (11:57):
Gary and Shannon, I would like to recognized two World
War Two veterans. First, my father, Robert Flynn, who was
on a Navy landing craft throughout the Pacific theater. And
my good friend and former co worker George Wolf, who
is top turret gunner engineer on a B seventeen and

(12:19):
flew thirty four missions. Over Nazi Germany and live to
tell about it.

Speaker 1 (12:24):
Wow, Robert Flynn and George Wolf wonderful. Yeah, we are
taking your Veterans' Day comments and honorifics and letting us
know what you're thinking about today all day long. Use
that talkback feature on the IHEARTRADI wap. You can also
how else do people talk to us these days? I

(12:45):
don't think they use the social I mean maybe they.

Speaker 2 (12:47):
Roll down their window and shout at this. They can
shout at the street.

Speaker 1 (12:51):
I don't know if we'll get to Oh, we'll feel
it that, we'll feel it right here. You're cold, I
can tell.

Speaker 2 (12:56):
I am beginning to get cold. A small end of
Senate Democrats joined Republicans and passed a stopgap I'm.

Speaker 1 (13:03):
Not looking at your nipples ps.

Speaker 2 (13:05):
In a sixty to forty vote last night.

Speaker 1 (13:08):
I actually sent this article to myself this morning because
it turned up on my algorithm because of the things
that I look at no doubt. And here it is
where it is. Note to self, here to do note
to self. It is from Health magazine. The headline why
do men have nipples? That was fed to me this
morning in my daily looking at the news headlines.

Speaker 2 (13:31):
Why do men have nipples? Because we have?

Speaker 1 (13:34):
Like, I didn't read it, Gary, I just brought you
to the show to see, to float it as a balloon,
to see if there was any interest. Sure, I wasn't
going to read that article by myself alone this morning.

Speaker 2 (13:45):
Why do men have nipples?

Speaker 3 (13:47):
Like?

Speaker 1 (13:47):
That's a bridge too far.

Speaker 2 (13:48):
You'd rather do it as a team.

Speaker 1 (13:50):
Yeah, together, So we'll get to that coming up later
in the show.

Speaker 2 (13:53):
I guess Democrats small band of them joined with Republicans,
So sixty to forty was to vote last night this
key step towards ending the government shutdown. It now goes
to the House Speaker Mike Johnson had already told members
of Congress to go back to Washington, d C. As
of right now, they're saying it's the first likely vote

(14:18):
on this in the House would be tomorrow afternoon at
some point. House majority with Tom Emmer out of Minnesota,
told lawmakers the first votes could occur as early as
four PMDC time tomorrow. Multiple series of votes expected. The
House often votes on a bunch of motions like whether
to adjourn or we can reconsider legislation, etc. Before they

(14:39):
get to the actual bill.

Speaker 1 (14:40):
Okay, so before the break we were talking about air travel,
how it may not resume to normal for months or
possibly years. According to some, this is all about the
FAA's emergency order to reduce flight capacity at those forty
major airports up to ten percent, So starting today, six
percent of flights were cut. That order remains what calls

(15:00):
for airlines to cancel flight seven days before they're scheduled
to fly. And once those are canceled and passengers are informed.

Speaker 2 (15:10):
You can't go back.

Speaker 1 (15:11):
You can't put the toothpaste back in the tube, at
least not easily.

Speaker 2 (15:15):
So there's a lead time that we're looking at that
is going to be the problem for the extension of this.
Even if there is a resolution to the government shutdown Wednesday,
and assuming the House votes on it right away at
one o'clock or two o'clock hour time the president's going
to do it, that takes a few hours to get
to the President's desk. Maybe Wednesday night they figure this out,

(15:38):
that still means that some of those delays and cancelations
are going to be trickling into that Thanksgiving week, which
we know is already already a nightmare without without cancelation.

Speaker 1 (15:49):
Even when the government officially reopens, the number of controllers
showing up to work may not immediately bounce back. Essential
FAA employees who have worked the shutdown will not immediately
receive the back pay, and some may choose not to
return to work right away. Air Traffic Controllers that union
says some of their members have taken second jobs, and

(16:11):
those side hustles may continue until they get their mispay checks.
Nick daniels Is, the president of the controllers union, said
it took two to two and a half months for
controllers to get all their back pay after the shutdown
in twenty nineteen. Now Trump has demanded all controllers. Yesterday,
he said, get back to work now, recommending a bonus

(16:32):
of ten thousand dollars per controller for those who did
not take time off. But that's going to be a problem,
and then some air traffic controllers may never return to
their jobs, or they're quitting, or they're retiring because they
don't want to deal with this again. Sean Duffy told CNN,
prior to the shutdown, only four controllers were retiring per day,

(16:53):
But since the shutdown began, what do you think that
numbers jumped to? It was four a day before the shutdown.
You're retiring now per.

Speaker 2 (17:01):
Day ten, eight, ten, twenty to twenty five. Wow.

Speaker 1 (17:05):
They don't want to hear what it's like a homeowner
that was hit by a hurricane. They don't want to
wait for the next one. They want to get the
hell out of town.

Speaker 2 (17:12):
One of the things that Sean Duffy also said, either
over the weekend or at the end of last week,
was he's trying to figure out ways to retain those
people who would retire, either by paying them bonuses to
stay on an extra month, if nothing else, just a
short time, trying to get them to He's trying to
sweeten the pot to keep them there. The President also

(17:33):
floated the idea we talked about it yesterday of giving
bonuses to people who haven't called out. Those flight those
air traffic controllers who have not had sound so much
better when you say it, Well, why didn't we get that?

Speaker 1 (17:51):
Because I don't think you should expect a bonus for
going to work.

Speaker 2 (17:55):
We're not saving people. That's my problem. I mean, you
know that's you're right, you shouldn't expect it. You're doing
your job. Well, I'm gonna I'm read. Why am I
relitigating something happened five years ago.

Speaker 1 (18:10):
I don't know, but I think what you're asking, what
the truth of the matter is, What what you're trying
to get to is something that's been eating away your
brain ever since it was mentioned, and it is.

Speaker 2 (18:20):
Why why do men have nipples?

Speaker 1 (18:22):
Yes, I'll give you a little bit of a tease
as to why you have nipples.

Speaker 2 (18:29):
Those nipples were formed. Don't point at me, Do not
point at mine? Why say in general? I don't know
them before. It's not like this is new. It feels
extremely personal those nipples. Stop looking at them. Were my
eyes are up here?

Speaker 1 (18:50):
Those nipples were formed before yr penis. That's all. I'll
leave that right there, and you can think about that.
The nipples were before the Lord knew if you were
going to be a baby boy or a baby girl.

Speaker 2 (19:06):
He knew the whole time. He was just waiting to
surprise me.

Speaker 1 (19:09):
Men have nipples because nipples form in the womb before
sex characteristics develop. I'll get into more nipple uses for
men as the show goes on.

Speaker 5 (19:18):
You're listening to Gary and Shannon on demand from KFI
AM six forty.

Speaker 6 (19:25):
Good morning you, guys. I want to shout out to
my dad.

Speaker 4 (19:30):
He en listened to the.

Speaker 6 (19:31):
Marine Corps in nineteen forty one and he was nineteen.
He served in a Pacific theater for four years, and
then in fifty he went over to his Korean more. So, Yeah,
I just love my dad. I miss him, and I
just want to say thank you for your service Dad
in the Marine Corps and to all of our Bedfords,

(19:52):
thank you so much.

Speaker 2 (19:53):
Yeah, big day for everybody.

Speaker 7 (19:54):
I luck on My grandfather, Robert Lovelace Senior, who.

Speaker 2 (19:59):
Is a Navy c be killed in.

Speaker 7 (20:01):
Randover in the South Pacific clearing out a runway or
an island for a runway. The Japanese come flying over
and bombed them. Locked to honor my dad that was
in the Air Force in Fairbanks, Alaska. My uncle was
in Vietnam.

Speaker 3 (20:18):
Wow.

Speaker 1 (20:19):
Good family, strong military family. No something can always feel
good about serving your country selflessly and feel good about
that every day of your life.

Speaker 2 (20:31):
So I hope people feel that way. I would like
to thank my father, Joseph Ally, thank you for your service.
He served in the US Navy on the USS Enterprise
hearing the Vietnam War. Thanks Pop for your service.

Speaker 4 (20:43):
We love you.

Speaker 2 (20:44):
Wonderful. What remember which area or my father in law
was on Vietnam. I think it was the Enterprise. Wow.
So we will do this through out today. If you
have somebody that you'd like to honor on Veterans State,
let it leave us a message on the talkback feature
on the app where you're listening. You just hit that
little microphone. It records that message and sends it right

(21:06):
to us.

Speaker 1 (21:07):
There are a bunch of things going on discounts, deals,
freebies for Veterans' Day locally in Los Angeles. Let's see
Apple Apple Bee's you get an in restaurant complimentary entree
from an exclusive menu there.

Speaker 2 (21:22):
That's very cool. Let's see what else.

Speaker 1 (21:25):
Looks uh BJ's BJ's you get a free chocolate chunk
pazuki with no minimum food purchase. That makes me feel
good about hanging out with BJ several times a year.

Speaker 2 (21:37):
CPK, the California Peach's Kitchen gives you complimentary meal from
a menu that's a special menu. They also receive a
complimentary beverage.

Speaker 1 (21:45):
Same thing with Chili's. Chipotle's got things going on. Let's
see where else. Cracker, but we don't have a cracker barrel.
I love a cracker barrel. Have I ever eaten one
at one.

Speaker 5 (21:58):
No, have it.

Speaker 2 (21:58):
There's one in Sacramento. Should do. It's just too much.
It's too much food. I like the rocking chairs, doesn't
Tay's too much food. You've never tried? I bet you could.

Speaker 1 (22:09):
You think I could put down biscuits, engravy cracker.

Speaker 2 (22:13):
Hash brown omelet if I'm not mistaken.

Speaker 1 (22:15):
You know how big that thing is. Oh, yes, I've
seen it.

Speaker 2 (22:18):
Yes I do. Firehouse Subs, Golden Corral, Hooters.

Speaker 1 (22:24):
Hey, I'm just gonna say, if you've served the country,
please don't go to the Golden Corral today. You deserve better.

Speaker 2 (22:31):
If you're Hooters, you present a military idea, and what
do they present you? Any participating you get? You buy
a beverage, you get a free entree from the Hooters
Veterans Day menu. Hey, Starbucks, listen to this.

Speaker 1 (22:44):
Starbucks is offering a free tall hot or ice brewed
coffee to active military members. That's worth about seventeen dollars.

Speaker 2 (22:52):
That's pretty good. Polly's Pies, Raising Cake Pies, a bunch
of those places. So congratulations, no, thank you for your service. Yes,
do that, and that's the That's the least these places
could do to honor what it is that you have
done for us.

Speaker 1 (23:10):
I love the story of the Vietnam veteran who shot
the naked intruder in Studio City. We didn't get to
it when it was happening, but we've got to follow up,
and I thought, what a better what better of a
day than to get to this on Veterans Day. You
don't mess around with Vietnam veterans, any veterans really, But
in my opinion, Vietnam veterans for my for my generation,

(23:34):
sure you do not mess around. They do not play.
And you want them in your foxhole with you. You
want them with you really at all times.

Speaker 2 (23:42):
Well, and especially don't take your clothes off in front
of it. This guy was the well I mean.

Speaker 1 (23:48):
I mean, that's up to anybody however they want to
live their life. I'm sure Vietnam veterans would love for
you to take your clothes off in front of them
if you're a particular person, right.

Speaker 2 (23:59):
Don't I don't, Oh, I do not know, well, not you,
Oh you mean someone that they would prefer to. Okay, yeah,
I don't know what you were getting that.

Speaker 1 (24:10):
Well, you said, don't take your clothes off in front
of a Vietnam veteran. It seemed like a silly blanket rule.

Speaker 2 (24:17):
Uh, you're right, I was going I was painting with
too broad a brush.

Speaker 1 (24:21):
Yes, did you want to hear more about men's nipples?
Gosh darn it before Amy's news. I was just counting
the moments when when you would say so last the
last time we left the nipples article in a health magazine,
we learned that male nipples exist because nipples begin to
develop in all embryos before sex differentiation occurs in the womb.

(24:45):
So those those nipples could have been a contender.

Speaker 2 (24:50):
But but no, but the Lord had other plans.

Speaker 4 (24:56):
But no.

Speaker 1 (24:56):
But they say that they're not purposeless either. That for
some nipples are involved in sexual arousal arasele arasele see
I ruin everything.

Sorry.

Ruthie's Table 4

Ruthie's Table 4

For more than 30 years The River Cafe in London, has been the home-from-home of artists, architects, designers, actors, collectors, writers, activists, and politicians. Michael Caine, Glenn Close, JJ Abrams, Steve McQueen, Victoria and David Beckham, and Lily Allen, are just some of the people who love to call The River Cafe home. On River Cafe Table 4, Rogers sits down with her customers—who have become friends—to talk about food memories. Table 4 explores how food impacts every aspect of our lives. “Foods is politics, food is cultural, food is how you express love, food is about your heritage, it defines who you and who you want to be,” says Rogers. Each week, Rogers invites her guest to reminisce about family suppers and first dates, what they cook, how they eat when performing, the restaurants they choose, and what food they seek when they need comfort. And to punctuate each episode of Table 4, guests such as Ralph Fiennes, Emily Blunt, and Alfonso Cuarón, read their favourite recipe from one of the best-selling River Cafe cookbooks. Table 4 itself, is situated near The River Cafe’s open kitchen, close to the bright pink wood-fired oven and next to the glossy yellow pass, where Ruthie oversees the restaurant. You are invited to take a seat at this intimate table and join the conversation.
