You're listening to KPI AM six fortythe Bill Handles show on demand on the
iHeartRadio apps. And would I stealthirty million dollars if I could? Hell,
yes, there's a lot of drugs, rock and roll and sex with

(00:22):
thirty million dollars. And now Handleon the news. Ladies and gentlemen,
here's Bill Handle. True words werenever said. Good morning everybody, Bill
Handle here on a magnificent Monday,A mysterious Monday, A munificent Monday,

(00:45):
A marginal Monday. How about motivationalMonday. Motivational Monday is very strong words
of wisdom. I'm sorry, giveus some words of wisdom. That's true.
Motivate us. Oh yeah, that'sme, mister mod that's true.
Oh yes, sorry. I let'ssay a quick load everybody here, as
we started another week. Neil, your first up, you said hello first

(01:08):
Hello, Well hello, back atyou, Willie Wolf. Yeah there you
got to be Monday. It iswhoa happy Monday? Woo woo. Yeah,
can't get too excited about that too. Actually, you know, I
don't find Monday so terrible. Alot of people, a lot of people
go Monday. I've never been thatway. I look forward to it as
well. Yeah, I don't Iknow. I don't say I look forward

(01:29):
to it. What I do sayis it's not as bad as it is
portrayed by some people who we're notdigging ditches. Man. It's a good
point. Although there have been manytimes I have practice saying would you like
to supersize those frenchise French fries, mister in FARSI, I've had doubts about
my career more than a few times. Good to have options, yes,

(01:53):
good to have options, all right, cono, good morning, morning,
Another day, another opportunity, verygood, well said, well said.
Day another dollar, but a dollarhere at iHeart. Another day, another
quarter I think is more likely.Uh, good morning, Amy, It's
a beautiful day in the neighborhood.Good morning Bill. Wow you talking about

(02:14):
a new beautiful day in the neighborhood. There is a terrific documentary on mister
Rogers, Fred Rogers on Netflix, really really good. He was quite a
guy, to say the least. And finally, and not finally, but
finally, Hello, Ann, goodmorning. I don't have anything. I'm
not a big fan of Monday.Okay, yeah, I can see that.
You know, you're sort of sloushing. There's a lot of e or

(02:38):
so don't don't even call it theeorosity. That's it. Okay, good
morning, good morning, not sogood. Half glass, half empty,
No such thing as half full doesn'texist. Well, we got a lot

(02:59):
going on today. There is wellwe'll go into it, but there is.
We're talking about the college protests originally, and a story that I wanted
to do about how UCLA was handlingthe college protests so much better than sc
with a different philosophy. Well thatblew up so that one I can't do
it anymore, how great UCLA isdoing. And then a couple of things

(03:21):
going on in the Mideast to thatI got a thing to say, a
thing or two to say about this. And right now the world is going
dead set against Israel, as youknow, but things may be changing,
and I'll explain that a little bitlater on as this story pans out.
In the meantime, why don't westarted It's time for handle on the news

(03:45):
on this monstrous Monday, April twentyninth, with Amy King, Nil Sevadra
and me late story, Well, the President and Benjamin Tanya, who Bibi
on the phone again yesterday. Bidenreiterating in stronger and stronger terms, you

(04:09):
are not going to invade Rafa,or if you do, they will be
consequences. In the meantime, Nittanyao, who's not backing down. I mean
they have not yet invaded. Asyou know, Raffa the last stronghold of
Hamas as well as the lost laststronghold of the Palestinian people. It's the

(04:29):
last place where the Palestinians have gonethat are quote a safe place to go.
And I use that in air quotesbecause Israel keeps on saying you're safe
over there and then promptly bombs theplace, arguing that Hamas is has a
stronghold or has a foothold in thatarea, which is probably true, but
that doesn't mean Israel is not bombingand causing all kinds of casualties. In

(04:51):
any case, the military is rampingup to invade Rafa. The world is
watching. Negotiation are going ongoing rightnow. Blincoln just left for Egypt,
where he is going to meet withIsrael and Qatar and Egyptian diplomats to try
to straighten this thing out. Andthe Blincoln's last statement was that Hamas accept

(05:18):
Israel's latest and quote extraordinarily generous proposalfor a truce. Now here's where I'm
going to go on this one isreel. Simply say, isn't the best
interests of Hamas to do so?I don't think so. And I'll tell

(05:38):
you why. Even if Israel hasgone way over the center line, if
you assume Hamas is interested in apolitical victory and maintaining power, which I
do. If you assume that thecitizens of Gaza really don't matter a wit
to Hamas, which they don't.Look at what's going on in in Gaza.

(06:00):
There's very little left of Gaza.As we talk, by the way,
there is going to be. It'sattack after attack, building after a
building that's being leveled that hasn't stopped. I mean, there are still dozens
of people being wiped out on adaily basis, or at least several people
being killed and buildings going down.Hamas isn't interested. It's there's no upside
for them. They want to maintainpower and they don't care how many people

(06:26):
are killed. It's obvious you wouldthink at some point when ninety percent of
your people have been or ninety percentof your property has been wiped out,
Gaza is basically a bad parking lot, not even a parking lot. If
parking lot has been torn up andrubble has to be removed, and it
doesn't matter. They're not given Whatare they going to stay in power for

(06:49):
to maintain power? If you haveno people and you have you still make
property you maintain. They don't care. That's the point. This is not
a government that is interested in buildinginfrastructure. This is not a government that
was interested in building roads. Wheredo they spend all their money in the
last ten years? Where do youthink the majority of the income of Hamas

(07:10):
has gone to the tunnels? Knowwho these people are? Of course they
did. Why don't they let theinnocence go somewhere else? Why don't they
get you're talking about Israel leading leadingthe innocence to go somewhere else. Yeah,
there's no place to go. There'sno place for them to go.
Jordan won't let them in. Egyptcertainly won't let him cross the border.

(07:34):
They're not interested in these refugee campsof half a million or a million people.
Let me tell you, no one'sa friend of the Palestinians. They
say they are, But the Arabworld is wants to wash their hands of
that too. It's a mess.It is a cluster truck of first order.
Anyway, we'll talk more about thatobviously as we continue on with the

(07:56):
news. Things were not so peacefulu c LA. Over the weekend.
There were dual demonstrations won the encampmentof pro Palestinian protesters and then counter protesters
rallying for the university's Jewish students, and the university had put up a barrier

(08:16):
to keep the two groups apart, but then a group of demonstrators breached that
barrier and there was a lot ofpushing and shoving over the weekend. Yeah,
I thought it was gonna be peaceful. We're going to talk a little
bit more about demonstrations, interesting situationshere, protests, divestment, and you're
going to see it. It's sostrong, the pro Palestinian demonstration. You
go to school cafeteria and the onlything they'll be serving is humas. Hummus

(08:41):
for one, hummus for all.Well, I think both sides like hummus.
I know that's the problem. Seethere's the conversation. See that's a
real problem, that's a real problem. It's delicious, it's very good,
very good. And with peta. Now that people say it's pita bread,
but it's peta. It's like tunafish. Okay, you know it's fish,

(09:03):
non bread. Yeah, well wouldnon bread be bred? No,
No, it's not red bread, but pita pita bread. Okay, all
right, So Secretary of State,as you were just saying, Anthony Blincoln
or just Mosque, accept what hereferred to as Israel's extraordinarily generous ceasefire proposal,

(09:24):
which pretty much said, yeah,we'll see what happens now Nobenno.
Yeah, it's and it's heartbreaking anywayyou do it. But when this thing
is sat and downe, you're goingto see the Palestinian people who it's the
Palestinian people, and this a lotof people don't know. We're considered the
intellectuals of the Mid East. Ifyou looked at governments forty fifty sixty years

(09:50):
ago, you would see Saudi Arabiaand Kuwait and Qatar the highest levels of
bureaucracy in a good way, bureaucracy. We're talking about the equivalent of undersecretary,
heads of departments. That sort ofthing were overrepresented by Palestinians, not
anymore. Unfortunately, look with thiswhole, this whole thing has just gone

(10:13):
into this disaster, this abyss, and it's wrong on both sides. You've
got the worst government in Israel youcould ever imagine. You've got the worst
government uh in Gaza, you couldever imagine. Put those two together and
you've got nothing. Here's a protestI can get behind. A group of
demonstrators are protesting La County District AttorneyGeorge Gascone. They're protesting what they believe

(10:37):
has been a lack of focus bythe current administration to bring justice to parents
and families of victims. And thisprotest happened yesterday in sam Pedro alongside the
candidate who is running to unseat Gascone, Nathan Hoffmann. I don't know how
he is going to win. Idon't know how Gascone is going to win.
I mean, the critical mass hitsso long. The only reason he

(11:01):
went in the primaries because there werefifteen people running against everybody, and he's
the one that has the He's theone that has a name recognition among everybody
else. Now it's just two ofthem, and he's gonna lose. See
the signs La County divest yourself ofGeorge gascon. I just made that up,
by the way, it's a story. I like it. Yeah,

(11:22):
I'm gonna be doing more of thattoday. We need him gone period.
Yeah see that's the point, alrighty. This is just horrible, these natural
disasters that are just plaguing certain partsof the country right now. At least
four people are dead, including aninfant, after a tornado outbreak in Oklahoma

(11:45):
overnight. So severe storms, moretwisters, heavy rain, large hail from
Missouri to Texas, just battering thehell out of that part of the some
of the video, it's insane hisvideos and people are too hot hundred yards
away from this thing, and thenyou can see as it touches down in
the distance, you can't really seethe power of it. You just see

(12:07):
a tornado swirling around in little bitsof debris. But when you're close enough
and you can actually see the powerof this thing. And then when they
sometimes there are only a couple ofhouses or a block wide, and then
sometimes you see these tornadoes that arehalf a mile in diameter or a quarter
mile in diameter, and just theutter force is unbelievable. One hundred were

(12:33):
reported yesterday. One hundred were reportedyesterday in the Midwest. It never had
that much that like a massive hoover, Yes, sucking up you know,
chunks. Yeah, I would letme. Let's do this. For anybody
who thinks climate change is non existentor it really isn't here, why don't
you email at I'm an idiot dotcom, Bill at outaman idiot dot com,

(12:54):
which, by the way, isalso true across the board. All
right. By the way, Iwant to make sure there's clarification. Don't
confuse that with billsan idiot dot com. That's why said one that works too.
Biden's people must be panicking because evenCNN is acknowledging that Trump is leading

(13:15):
Biden. In a lot of polls, the most recent one, most Americans
say, looking back, former PresidentTrump's term was a success. Well,
a majority say that so far Biden'shas been a failure. Fifty five percent
of all Americans say Trump's presidency isa success, and thirty nine percent are
saying the same for Biden. Youknow, the shame of it is is

(13:37):
a lot of this is timing. Why is Bill Clinton considered a pretty good
president because he happened to be inthe best eight years of the country's history.
Probably It's same thing with President Trump. He had the pandemic didn't hit
until he was on his way out, and people now tend to forget that

(14:00):
it was at the end of histenure when the pandemic hit, and Biden
inherited this pandemic. And I thinkthat's any president. But what I'm saying
is this is where Biden's in alot of trouble, and his and his
detractions are getting some real ammunition here. He is old. He is a

(14:22):
liberal. That is legitimate. Bythe way, he's an old school pro
labor liberal. There's no issue aboutthat. On a political level. You
like him, you don't like him, I mean, whatever it is.
But you know, it looks likethat at this point right now. If
we're head to head, Trump wouldpull it off. But if if Biden
was younger and had a better vicepresident, I don't think. I think

(14:50):
moderates would be absolutely fine, evenmoderate Republicans would be absolutely fine with him.
I thinks not like an AOC progressive. No he's not, No,
he is not. Trump is nota crusading right winger either. No.
Oh no, he's more on thefringe. All right. A little under

(15:13):
three point six million babies were bornin twenty twenty three. If you were
listening to Wake Up Call this morning, Amy got into this bit. According
to these provisional statistics, that's aboutseventy six one thousand fewer babies than the
year before, and the lowest oneyear tally since nineteen seventy nine. Why

(15:37):
weren't we humping in nineteen seventy nine? Was that just because it was?
You would think during the pandemic therewould be a tremendous amount of stupiosity.
There was an uptick during the pandemic, not huge, but there was enough.
Yeah, not that much, Amy, Your theory about that, Yeah,
it looks there was a lot ofprematuriosity coming on going on there.

(16:00):
My theory was that we were stuckat home and didn't have anywhere to go,
so what better to do? No, that's true. I mean it
happens during the great blackout of theseventies. For weeks there was no power
on these coasts. I mean, the kids were popping up like crazy.
They were popping to look like youknow, apples and a barrel when you're
bobbing for apples at a birthday party. Remember you used to do that?
Did you ever do bobbing for apples? Yeah, I remember bobbing for apples

(16:22):
at parties. Do they not dothat anymore? I don't think so.
Oh now you'll only see bobbing forapples in the car next to you when
someone never mind, let's yeah,no, it's okay, Well, just
we'll move on. But yes,Amy, I don't think we see it,
especially after COVID. Yeah, nothingnothing like that is done well.

(16:48):
Made in the USA is great, except when it's not. Williams Sonoma is
going to have to pay out almostthree point two million dollars for violating a
Federal Trade Commission Made in the USsay order. Apparently they were advertising several
products as being made in the USAwhen they were in fact manufactured in other
countries. This is almost nothing, though Williams NUM was a big, big

(17:12):
organization. Three point two million dollars, and there are all kinds of rules
about how much of a product hasto be manufactured, how much of a
product has to be assembled in theUS to be so you can label it
made in the USA when you thinkabout it. You know, for example,
cars, some BMW's mine I thinkwas done in Germany. They have

(17:37):
other ones that are in South Carolina, huge, huge car plants. Is
that made in the USA? Yeah? If they assemble enough of the parts,
may don't they have to say assembledversus I know, I don't know
the rules. I mean the rules. This is really sophisticated stuff. All
I know is that when they wantedto pay the three point two million dollars
and we're asking to pay in Japanese, yend the government, it said,

(18:00):
Nope. Harvey Weinstein's lawyer said thatWeinstein has been hospitalized for a bunch of
tests after his return to New YorkCity. Of course, this follows the
appeals court ruling that nullified his twentytwenty rape conviction. They're going to try

(18:22):
him again. There's no way they'regoing to let him out on this one.
As I explained on Friday, theoverturning of the court case does not
mean he cannot be retried. Anddepending on how much publicity, how high
the profile is of the case, sometimes the prosecution has no choice but to
retry it. And they have nochoice other than if he is really disabled,

(18:48):
or he gets very ill, orhe's clearly unable to even I guess,
appear in court without looking very oldand infirm. And falling apart.
Wheelchairs are always good to take intocourt, even if you're hail and healthy.
I tell people that all the time. Do you on handle on the
ast? What do I do?I go, Well, here's what you

(19:11):
do. You don't have the money, you don't have the facts in front
of you, So you crawl in, You roll in in a wheelchair.
If you can't afford one, youbring a cane, you drag along the
floor, You get old clothes. You talk about your mother dying of cancer,
your dog about to die, you'restarving. Here's my address, living
in a dumpster, and see ifthat flies. This is a good legal
advice. This is why I getpaid to do. Isn't there a perjury

(19:33):
element to that? No? No, Well, okay, let's say,
how many days do you have tovisit a dumpster before you actually live in
a dumpster? There is a legalissue. Wow, yeah, barely,
Mason right there, Ladies and gentlemen, this woman made a whole lot of
money mailing it in. She pleadedguilty to defrauding over one hundred and fifty

(19:56):
million dollars from the US Postal Services. Woman in the San Gabriel Valley,
Angela Chen from Walnut. She usedcounterfeit postage to ship tens of millions of
packages. She owned and operated apackage shipping business in the city of Industry
and apparently created folk fake postage stampsto ship the packages by printing duplicate and

(20:22):
counterfeit net stamps onto adhesive paper andmailing them off. One hundred and fifty
million dollars. Yeah, it waswell, baglam. That really is well.
Yeah, that's a lot. Soone of them is still in ch
I think I want of them isstill in China, and the one in
the United States that that's that arrestis easy. But the rest of them,

(20:44):
I don't know. Thirty four millionpackages were shipped. How do you
how does she get away with thatwithout some scanner going oh, this does
not this is not real. Doyou think something would have picked up on
it sooner? Or they're very verygood and the system wasn't made to in

(21:04):
fact think this through because people didn'tdo this, so therefore the algorithms weren't
there. What if, what if? And if it fails along this way,
and maybe the printing itself, sinceit wasn't that important, it could
be a little bit off and wasvery easy to counterfeit. Yeah, I
don't know what they're I'm trying tothink of the security. I know what

(21:26):
a dollar bills has security wise forturnter fits, but I don't know what
a stamp does. I don't either. The old ones used to have raised
lettering and proprietary inings and things likethat, but I don't think the new
ones do. Huh. All right, With the rise and popularity of evs
as we know here, especially inCalifornia, you've got these EV chargers across

(21:48):
the state popping up everywhere too,and it puts us by, at least
by the account of Governor Gav Newsom, he says that we are miles ahead
when it comes to keeping electric carsgoing in California versus other states in the
Union. Yeah. Except let methrow something right back at you, Gov,
and that is we're miles ahead interms of the number of chargers.

(22:12):
We're more miles ahead in the termsof numbers of evs that are that have
been purchased. There aren't enough chargers, which is why I do the commercials
for Walter's Wholesale to tell people.I mean, this is me talking that,
Hey, you want chargers wherever yougo? You want them at the

(22:32):
seven eleven, you want them athotels, you want them at businesses,
you want them all over the place. Because the selling of the evs is
greater than the number of chargers thatare going in. And when he brags
about, oh, look at howmany chargers we have. How long is
it take you to phillip a gastank two and a half minutes? How

(22:53):
long does it take you to chargercar to a supercharger twenty twenty minutes?
Is that what it is? Ithought, that's the fast That is the
fastest you can do twenty minutes. So if you're if you're two people in
front of you, now you're anhour, You got a forty minute wait,
and then you get to sit therefor twenty minutes. You know,
when we bought our place in BigBear, there was like one location you

(23:18):
could go to because my brother hasa Tesla and now they're popping up a
business. It's just like you're saying, if to have a business, you're
going to have to have these things. Now, yeah, I wouldn't have
I have one at home. Imean I would not have a house without
a charger in it. I meanjust wouldn't. If you have an ev
matter of fact, my chargers rightthere, at the same place where the

(23:40):
roof was fixed, and at thesame place where my water system is installed.
It's all in the same little partof the garage. Now just an
excuse to pitch my products. Ohwell, I will tell you this.
If you owned a restaurant or something, it's super smart because you know people
are gonna charge and then come indown well Anaheim White House. Bruno has

(24:03):
one. Bruno has one, andhe put it in a couple of years
ago. I go, that isbrilliant. You're right. I'd rather go
to a restaurant where I just plugthe car in, come in. They
have a puffed They tell him he'sa Italian. He's not an old Jew.
You can't tell Italian. You'll putthe puff Keysley coming Now, there's

(24:29):
no noise in his in his vocabulary. There isn't all right, another reason
not to reuse needles. No matterwhat. Three women have been diagnosed with
HIV after getting a so called vampirefacial at an unlicensed New Mexico medical spot.
There is there's nothing good about anything. You just said. I know,

(24:49):
I know, I just vampire facial. Yeah, do you don't even
know what that is. I no, but I'm gonna follow knee lead on
this one. Can't be good. No, diagnosed with HIV after getting a
vampire facial procedure and an unlicensed NewMexico medical spa. Yeah, like every

(25:12):
there is. It's like it mightas well read red flag, red flag,
red flag, red flag, redflag, red flag. You're stupid,
all right, So Amy, explainwhat it is. Okay. So
it's a micro needling procedure. Soyou take somebody's blood, you separate its
two components, and then you usetiny needles to inject plasma back into the

(25:34):
face and that's supposed to rejuvenate yourskin. Wow ugly. Yeah, it's
pretty just easy. I don't haveto do anything. Wash my face done.
Utah couple accidentally ship's pet cat toSouthern California in Amazon return package.

(25:59):
Well, curious killed who almost killedthe cat? Yeah? But the cat
survived six days in a box?So yeah, like, how do you
not notice that you're packaging your cat, especially when you shake the box to
see what's in it? They Ithink the cat jumped in while they were
packaging and they didn't notice. Yeah, I think that's a story. I

(26:19):
mean people don't they like their catso right, but even when you lift
a package, like when you whenI lift a cat container that's got a
cat in and it feels really wonkybecause you know, the cat doesn't sit
still and it's not even distributed.Yeah, who knows. Yeah, well
they know when they got their catback. They got their ris was Oh

(26:41):
it was shipped out from the Schrodingerorganization. That's interesting. That's very funny.
Thanks buddy. That's not bad atall. Yeah, a little toose,
but still very good. They don'tknow if he was in there or
not. That's correct. Yeah,So baseball players are getting new new uniforms.
As you may know, the player'sgot new uniforms this weekend and they

(27:06):
reveal a lot. Apparently they're kindof see through and that has led to
a lot of jokes. And that'sparticularly the pants. Plus the numbers are
smaller, and the players have complainedthat they're sweating too much, like it
doesn't whisk off the sweat. Sothey're getting new new jerseys, which some
people are really upset. I waslooking forward to seeing the new minor league

(27:29):
team, the Albuquerque Fruit Package. You know, Nike is trying to move
on on National Zipper Day. Yeah, okay, okay, I guess this
is it. Let's wrap this upwith more than a one hundred and twelve
years after the original Titanic ship sankin the Atlantic, an Australian billionaire now

(27:55):
goes, hey, let's build anotherone. So what could go wrong?
Yeah, so Titanic two made invoyage is scheduled for June of twenty twenty
seven. I think it's kind ofneat. It's affect to go on.
It's a theme ride. Now doyou go on where you purchase third class
tickets and you're in these bunk bedsand you're served third class food. Although

(28:19):
I might point something out about theTitanic third class steerage on the Titanic was
heads and shoulders above anything else thathad ever traveled the Sea's third class usually
steerage was just horrific. There theyhad rooms, they had sinks, toilets
where they had buckets before. SoI think it's a great idea. But

(28:41):
wait a second, are they gonnaif it's gonna be the same, are
they gonna keep the bad ratio ofyeah, like lifeboats to No, I
think that one's changed. I thinkthat one is probably changed, but it's
still it's fascinating because the rooms wereso the cabins were so so tiny.
It's very different world there, butI go. I'd go just for fun.

(29:07):
All right? Did we go throughall the stories? Yeah? We
did. That doesn't happen all thatoften. All right, So today a
lot going on. I'm gonna talkabout college protests that's coming up next,
and healthcare costs. Another story aboutone of those I'm gonna do and at
eight thirty coming up at the lasthalf hour of the show, something I

(29:27):
obviously enjoy doing on Mondays. Dothey have a case with Wayne? Last
week? Man, I was soproud of myself. Not only did I
guess right which way the case wasgoing to go and it's about eighty twenty,
but even the rationale exactly what thecourt said, and I got it.
I got it. So I'm pattingmyself on my back. There's the

(29:48):
scratch. We're gonna come back andstart talking about the college protesters and the
rallying cry that is divest, divest. We won't rest, we use crest.
I rhyme the best I do.I am a pest. Never mind,
We're not gonna go there if wecould. You know, we just

(30:10):
spent half an hour on that one, Neil and just go we've done that
before. Well, we took awhole segment, did crap like that?
It did punoffs, Yes we did. This is KFI AM six forty Live
