Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hey, it's Niel Sevedra. You're listening to kfi EM six
forty the four Report on demand on the iHeartRadio app.
You know how long it takes me to get back
from the restroom when we're already talking about lettuce shredding.
We've already passed the meat and everything else. Okay, don't
make the big guy ron. That's not helping anybody, especially
(00:23):
especially what's that line from The Simpsons can't remember the kid,
is it Nelson or whatever? Who said don't chase me.
I'm full of chocolate. It's like, don't make me run.
I'm full of stone fire grill. Don't make me run anyhow. Oh, Andrew,
please enjoy, enjoy your carrot cake compliments of stone fire grill.
(00:50):
We are in heaven today, right we are? Yeah, So
Andrew Caravella is coming in getting some more carrot actually
his first piece of carrot cake. He was enjoying the
spread here, which I've been doing. The chili is fantastic.
I've never had their chili before. Those new pork sandwiches
are great again. This is one of people ask me
(01:13):
all the time, Oh, do you have a favorite restaurant?
I really don't to say I have a favorite, isn't
fair or what the best is rather, But I will
tell you that Stonefire Grill is one of my absolute
favorite places to eat for a couple reasons, one of
which I told you about coming from a big family
and it's hard for us to eat, you know, get
(01:33):
my mom and everybody else out and be able to
eat eat comfortably. And there's one in Thousand Oaks, so
Westlake Village area, and that's where you know, I grew
up out in Newbury Park, and so we go to
that one, and it's just it's a pleasure to be
able to eat a place like that. I will tell
(01:53):
you a couple things. Were you going to say something ender?
Speaker 2 (01:55):
Yeah, you know, people kind of you know, knock chains
and stuff like that, like, oh, I want something local
and stuff. The cool thing about stone Fire is they're
they're local, Like they originated here in southern California, which
is which is great.
Speaker 1 (02:07):
Rattlers. Yeah, Rattler's up the hill. So if they're right across,
they're in the same parking lot as Barbecue's Galore, and
they're they're right I can see it right there, walking
in into a cool, vibe, great place, and uh, that
it all started there, family owned, it's grown. You've got
twelve stone fire grills and then rattlers there, And that's
(02:32):
another thing. Do you say rattlers or do you say rattlers.
Speaker 2 (02:36):
Like I'm gonna say rattlers like a rattle steak, yeah,
because okay, you know those exist.
Speaker 1 (02:41):
Yeah, I get what it is for. But like I
feel like sometimes my mouth wants to say rattlers, and
I don't know why. I get a twang there for
some reason, it's rattlers.
Speaker 3 (02:50):
Well, Santa Clarita, know, yeah.
Speaker 1 (02:52):
It's awesome town up there right over in that area
of Valencia and the like. So we're giving rattlers some
love too, because apparently they started everything. And yet it's like, oh,
you talk about is stonefire grip? Well, you know what,
We're gonna give rattlers some love. How about that, Santa Clarita,
Once you get out there and have some rattlers right now?
But there, I've said this on the show many times.
(03:17):
This is a small, smaller chain. I get it. There's
a twelve stone fire and then the rattlers up there
in Santa Clarita. They are part of the ecosystem, the
culinary ecosystem. Everything is fast food. Everything has its purpose,
and when they go it changes the system, changes how
the system works. So one is not better than the other,
(03:39):
are more important than the other. They all work together
as one. And it's just like we talked about. There's
been times where I have slipped in the stone fire
that I've called in an order or ordered it online
and I've slipped in, grabbed the bags, and I've left.
And then there's times where I've wanted to go in
(04:00):
and sit down. Even before my boy was born, my
wife and I would go in there, we'd sit down
and you just get they they'd serve it like on
the aluminum, like the small aluminum pizza trays. Then they'd
come and they'd have the parchment paper on there and
all the you know, garlic and lemon, garlic and all
(04:24):
of that on the chicken, and it just there. There's
something special about the experience, which is why they've been
such great partners. And it's so easy for me to
give them love because I genuinely enjoy the food and
the product. And once I went through the back of
the house, went through the kitchen and saw how everything
(04:47):
is scratch made there like that and the way they
prepare it. And I do pride myself. I'm pretty good
on the grill, but ten out of ten times I
would rather have Stonefire Grill try Tip than my own.
And I make great try tip. He just, you know,
I don't know. Maybe it's maybe I don't put enough
(05:08):
love in mind. I don't know. Maybe it's something that
happened and I don't know. Stonefire Grill dot com, Stonefire
Grill dot Com. Again, the big game is tomorrow. If
you want to get chili, you want to get the sliders,
you want to get to try tip, whatever it is,
I will tell you, do not pass on the carrot
cake and the cheesecake. It's my two cents, all right,
(05:33):
we come back. I want to tell you about teens
and caffeine. I write an interesting article about this that
I want to share with you because I have an
eight year old and you know, we don't give him soda.
Every once in a while, he you know, will have
a seven up or something like that, or special occasions
(05:54):
if we're on a plane or something. But it kind
of opened my eyes to something. So I want to
share that with you and come back.
Speaker 4 (06:00):
You're listening to the fork report with Nil Savedra on
demand from KFI A M six.
Speaker 1 (06:05):
Forty Stonefire Grill was in here. David Youngberg from the CEO,
I'm very kind nice the first time I met him.
It's a newer gig for him, and he brought in
a lot of food but also gift cards for Christmas
around here. I know the capital h hospitality. Love it. Oh,
we should probably mention rattlers. Oh yeah, they're very sensitive,
(06:29):
That's what I'm told. So also rattlers Santa Clarita, go
in there, go in there and say I came here
instead of Stonefire Grill. I wanted to know. I wanted
to come to the original Stonefire Grills. The spawn of
rattlers go to the mothership. Oh so, if you go
(06:56):
online AKFIM six to forty dot com, the interview we
did with David is on featured segments, so check that
out all right. New guidelines say teens should skip caffeine.
So tons of options when it comes to caffeinated drinks. Right,
just most teens are drinking caffeine every single day. New
(07:17):
guidelines are saying that may not be the best thing,
and that teens should actually be avoiding caffeine altogether, so
you kind of rule out coffee. Most of them don't
drink coffee, some do. But the research that's been done
by Healthy Eating and they've been looking through all this stuff.
Experts from several different health organizations are looking to guide
(07:43):
beverage choices for kids five to eighteen, and they recommend
basically what we've known forever. Stricken to water and plain milk,
limiting things like one hundred percent juice, plant based milk
and flavored milks. Definitely stay away from sugary drinks, drinks
(08:03):
with official sweeteners, and any drinks with caffeine or stimulants.
That's in short. So the FDA currently says most healthy
adults can safely drink up to four hundred milligrams of
caffeine per day, but there are no official guidelines for kids,
which is what makes this more important. Caffeine affects kids
(08:26):
in a lot of different ways. It's a stimulant found
in over sixty plants like coffee beans, tea leaves, but
it's also added to a lot of energy drinks or
other products. Chocolate has it in it as well. Pharmacology
expert says caffeine is addictive. It can cause a bunch
of issues, sleep problems, high blood pressure, anxiety. I mean,
(08:48):
how many times do we hear about young people having
anxiety more than ever before. Plus going with caffeine and
drinking caffeine can lead to headaches sometimes even withdrawal syndromes,
So going without caffeine you start having these kind of symptoms.
The biggest worry for teams is that some drinks marketed
(09:10):
to them have a lot of caffeine, like two hundred
to three hundred milligrams per serving. That's a lot for adults.
So some of the side effects of too much caffeine
can include restlessness, shakiness, trouble sleeping, headaches, dizziness, fast hard rate,
heart rate, anxiety, dehydration, and dependency. And we don't think
(09:33):
about We think about all the heavy stuff that we're
worried about as parents, but there's other stuff. Pediatric metal
directors say that. Medical directors say the caffeine can mess
with the brain and body, especially during the teen years.
Everything's still developing. So you're putting these things into their
(09:53):
body and you may not know where they're getting it
because you think of you know, well, they're getting it
from this that. But even decaf coffee and tea has
two to fifteen milligrams of caffeine. Bottled ice tea twenty
to eighty milligrams. A regular soda has thirty five to
fifty five milligrams. Black or green tea fifty five milligrams.
(10:17):
Coffee eighty to two hundred milligrams. Energy shots you know
those shots shots. I mean they're doing the cans. Oh well,
energy shots are two hundred to two hundred and fifty milligrams.
Energy drinks are one hundred and fifty to three hundred milligrams.
So anything that says like charged drinks are going to
be a problem. Chocolate bars has it, protein bars, chocolate chips,
(10:39):
ice cream. Anything that says energy boosting is likely to
have it. Even like ansie refresher from Starbucks or something.
They have it. And if you can avoid it, you
should be avoiding it, and it should be something that
you keep out of the hands of kids.
Speaker 2 (10:57):
I do hydration packets like liquid IV you know, in
my in my water when I go to the gym,
and some of them have the energy option. Yeah, but
I don't think it has like that much as far
as dosage goes to caffeine in him.
Speaker 1 (11:11):
You sound like somebody's making excuses, But that's just me.
I'm just yeah, justifying it. That's okay, Okay, we gotta
we gotta get him into it, some sort of help.
Oh live intervention. Thanks, everybody, gather and tell tell Andrew
how much we love him. Stop crying, Robin, I'm gonna
get more cake.
Speaker 4 (11:33):
You're listening to The Fork Report with Nil Savedra on
demand from KFI AM six forty did a great.
Speaker 1 (11:39):

is so cringe? With social media saying about the show.
And it has been really well received. The streaming numbers
are very nice, so I would love for people to
join the conversation and enjoin the streams and give us
a follow at Sex in the City of Angels not

(12:25):

about the event.

Speaker 3 (13:25):
I'm so excited. Thank you, thank you so much.
Speaker 1 (13:27):
That'll be fun, all right. Butter Beer Season twenty twenty
five brings magical new treats from Goldfish to Hershey's, Keebler's
and Pockey. Have you ever had butter beer from like
Universal Studios?
Speaker 6 (13:41):
That?
Speaker 4 (13:42):
No?
Speaker 1 (13:42):
Okay, So butter beer comes from the Harry Potter series,
the Harry Potter series, and they have this thing called
butter beer and it's a beverage and it's the I
think the it shows up in Harry Potter and The
Prisoner of Azkaband. So it's this frothy kind of butterscotch
(14:04):
short bread ish flavor and it's huge fan favorite. I
had a Universal Studios a bunch of times. It's excellent.
The combination is just really really lovely. Well now it's
not only in the theme parks and their special menu,
but there's this product line that is popping up all
over the place. So they've got butter Beer Season. Warner
(14:29):
Brothers Discovery is bringing this together annual celebration of all
things butter beer running through March first through May thirty first,
and now they're serving up all these different limited edition treats.
And I'm curious about this because I raised my eyebrow
a couple times on these goldfish butter beer flavored grams.
So the goldfish not the cheese ones, same family. But
(14:52):
you know how they have the little the Graham like
Graham Cracker flavor. Well, they're doing a butter beer flavored
Graham Cracker one, sweet buttery vibes. But I'll be curious
about that. Hershey's has the Harry Potter butter beer kisses. Right,
I want to try. I want to get I want
to get my lips on some of that. I see
(15:15):
what you did there? Whoa never Keebler butter beer fudge
striped cookies. Good night, Irene, close the door, We're done.
Hit the lights. So their fudge striped cookies we all love.
They're gonna, you know, wizard whirl that little magic and
make the butter Beard flavor shortbread cookies top with butter
(15:38):
beer fudge, which was Andrew's nickname in prison, Pocky butter
beer flavor. You know, Pocky's little sticks, Little Katy a
little other fun. Little Hi, how are uh jumping on
the beer batter or beer a buttered beer? Uh? The
Baby Pocket picked up Pickle pepper Pecker Butter Beer Train,
(16:03):
offering a limited edition butter beer flavored version of their
iconic Little Biscuit Sticks, which was my nickname. So they're
gonna be available in China, but they might be making
their way out here. So that's kind of cool, all
these butter beer flavors coming our way. I like the
butter beer. It's tasty, all right, stick around. Our last
(16:25):
segment together including we'll talk to Tiffany of course coming
up at five, and you know what, could we let's
give away some of these Then we're gonna give away
some Stonefire Grill gift cards, So I'll tell you how
to do that when we get back, all right, so
just stick around, Stick around, seriously, don't go anywhere you've
(16:48):

on the personal note, you know, twenty twenty five, I
don't do resolutions or anything, but I'm going back to
the roots. My roots started in creativity and art and
design and making and building, and I'm going back to that.
So I've started I have a actually have a little company,
(18:12):
a little side company do stuff for iHeart and KFI
and stuff like that, but where I make things. But
this is more than that. And the name of the
company is sav Co Industries. So I've named that the
new ig account that but really it's more about stuff
that I've built in the past, things that I'm building.
If you are into art, even as a spectator or
(18:34):
building or creating, please give me a follow on Instagram
at SAA v COO Industries at sav SAA v COO
co Industries, and especially if you're an artist as well.
If I can tell that you're an artist and you have,
you know, a lot of that art in your feed,
(18:56):
I will follow you. If you have questions or anything.
You're doing a party for massad daughter or something, you
want some creative ideas, whatever it might be. You got
something that needs fixing and you want to run some ideas.
Is this worth fixing or not? Or whatever? I love
all of that stuff, So join me there. It's kind
of a passion project of mine to focus on creating
(19:19):
this year. So if you do that, I sure would
appreciate it. And Tiffany's coming up minutes from now. How
come I can't hear how come I can't hear Tiffany?
What the heck is going on? Does she need to
be on a different mic? Why don't you jump over there?
I bet you I can hear you right there.
Speaker 3 (19:40):
I think so this is much better KF I.
Speaker 1 (19:43):
Am six the peak of tech technology. Actually, we have
such a killer tech crew around here. The problem is, uh,
you know, things break.
Speaker 3 (19:53):
Everyone's eating, That's what the problem is, pulling.
Speaker 6 (19:56):
On my chinking on courts and these poor guys have
to fix it. Everything that's it. And I must say
those Zelman mintee mouth mints must be powerful because there's
a lot of onion stuff in here and you would
never know.
Speaker 1 (20:08):
We've all been popping them.
Speaker 3 (20:10):
You might never know.
Speaker 1 (20:11):
I brought some boxes for Robin. Do you want? Are
you loaded up?
Speaker 7 (20:16):
I have nothing. I get nothing around here. I get
airtime and that's kind of where it stops. And I'm
grateful for that. Tell us what you're going to be
talking about, and I'm sure, Oh.
Speaker 3 (20:27):
That the coveted shake, and I've heard that. I'm so
you know what I'll be talking about today.
Speaker 7 (20:32):
It's been a month since the fires, and Karen Bass,
may Or Baths yesterday was at a press conference and
news conference with Governor Newsom where they talked about some
of the updates.
Speaker 3 (20:42):
Since the fires. So I have some of those updates.
Speaker 7 (20:45):
There are four main points that came out of that
news conference, and I'll share that with everyone so that
we can kind of find out what's.
Speaker 3 (20:52):
Going on together.
Speaker 7 (20:54):
There's some big news that came out of that news
conference as well, Neil, do you know about that beautiful
mobile home park across from will Rogers State Palace. Everybody
wants it, Everyone wants it, Jewel of the Nile.
Speaker 3 (21:10):
Unfortunately it did burn down.
Speaker 1 (21:12):
You know. I'd heard reports early on and then I
was like, is that the place?
Speaker 7 (21:17):
That is the place. It's called Tahitian Terrace. Every development
there save for one, I believe, actually burned to the ground.
And the La Times actually profiled the mobile home park
and spoke to some of the residents. I will be
speaking to one of those residents, Fire Captain Alec Edwards
at five point thirty, who will talk about what happened
(21:39):
that day into the evening as he and others tried
to battle that fire to save.
Speaker 3 (21:45):
The mobile home park.
Speaker 7 (21:46):
So he'll give he'll give his first hand account of
what actually went down that day. It's going to be
a doozy and I highly recommend everyone listen to that
because he is a stellar human being and he is
getting a lot of press, which.
Speaker 3 (22:01):
Is rightfully due.
Speaker 7 (22:02):
To tell his story and to amplify what happened with
that mobile home park. So that'd be at five point thirty,
and then after that we're going to talk about some
other things.
Speaker 3 (22:11):
And I left my paper way over there.
Speaker 1 (22:14):
You son of a gun.
Speaker 7 (22:15):
That is so d terrible, terrible, terrible, But I want
to you know is what it is if you list
on Airbnb. I have a cautionary tale for you because
one person did in fact list his home and unfortunately
he was saddled with a three thousand dollars cleaning bill.
I'll tell you what happened and why. Maybe Airbnb and
(22:37):
these home sharing websites and apps are something that you
might want to reconsider in the age where a lot
of people are using them more not necessarily responsibly. Then
we'll also look at a practical guide to the commercials
airing tomorrow during the Big Game. There's no more mystery.
I'll get into what the commercials are, what you can
(22:57):
expect for those commercials, how much they cost each because
the number goes up every year.
Speaker 1 (23:04):
You want to go half on one next year? You
know a Zell on our weekend.
Speaker 7 (23:07):
Show, you can you can go a little bit more
than half. I think I've got five on it. How
about that, but yeah, it's gonna be It's gonna be
a fun show. Like I said, I'm very excited to
talk to Alec and I hope everyone stays around to listen,
and they will because they're smart.
Speaker 1 (23:23):
I want to ask you a bunch of questions, but
I'm going to just tune in and stick around for
five point thirty when because I'm curious about some of
the things there, and it's such a delightful little piece
of property there in Malibu that I'm crossing my fingers
that the story turns okay. Alrighty folks, stick around. Tiffany
Hobbs coming up moments from now. Have a wonderful remainder
(23:46):
of your weekend. Be empathetic, be kind, and love one another.
It's free. I know I get stressed and annoyed too,
but let's let's try and do this, shall we. I'll
catch you on the flip side. Have a wonderful weekend.
This is Kafi and Kaoe THHD to Los Angeles, Orange County.
Speaker 4 (24:02):
You're listening to The Fork Report with Nil Savedra on
