Speaker 1 (00:00):
More variety from the two thousands, the nineties, and today
it's Star one on one three, It's Marcus and Corey
five fifty nine. Good morning, Hi. I do enjoy singing
along to that song.
Speaker 2 (00:08):
I saw that must not know it's a little early
for me. I'm still kind of getting my coffee in.
How are you? I'm a little I'm not super deeper sore,
but I feel like tomorrow is gonna be sad. Are
you a workout bunny?
Speaker 3 (00:21):
Now?
Speaker 4 (00:22):
I have hit all my rings every day since last week.
I was told by my doc that I should be
doing at least thirty minutes right three times a week,
but I'm actually kind of upping that. Yesterday was the
first day I incorporated weights, my goodness and the step.
I'm taking it very easy. I'm not going to go
crazy because then tomorrow I won't be able to move.
(00:45):
But even just kind of walking up the stairs today,
I was.
Speaker 1 (00:47):
Like, am am, help me.
Speaker 4 (00:50):
So I have all these great DVDs, and someone would
make fun of me because they're like DVDs.
Speaker 2 (00:54):
You could just get these, you know, if you just
went online. But I don't want to waste them.
Speaker 4 (00:58):
So I have steps and I have all kinds of
you know, weights, and.
Speaker 1 (01:03):
I'm gonna need actual video at some point. No, that's
not happening.
Speaker 2 (01:07):
I mean maybe maybe, come on, that's what the people want,
want to get a little fitter. So things aren't that jiggly,
and it's just flailing. I mean, it's a lot of
flailing and laughable moments at this point.
Speaker 3 (01:18):
You know.
Speaker 2 (01:18):
I was working out yesterday and Jeff was in the kitchen.
I was like, don't don't look in here, don't do it.
See I need the Jeff on a video. No, that's me.
Speaker 1 (01:28):
I'm gonna text him individually and be like, hey, do
me a favor. You're mean behind the scenes content?
Speaker 2 (01:34):
So mean?
Speaker 1 (01:36):
Are the higher ups not bugging us about more behind
the scenes content. I believe they are.
Speaker 2 (01:40):
I don't think they meant at my house. I think
they meant like here.
Speaker 1 (01:43):
Well, you've inspired me as well. I was lifting weights
whilst watching the football game yesterday. Oh yeah, to you,
two football games at once plus lifting weights. There's nothing
like watching a football game while working out. To me,
just get that pump, put me in, coach, get your
grind on, get your grind on, do this. Six oh
one lots going on today. We have more passes for
(02:07):
you to join us this weekend for the private screening
of Taylor Swift's the official release party of a Show Girl.
It's gonna be uh we just I'll have a theater,
private theater in San Francisco. We want you to come.
Get a four pack of tickets coming up at seven
thirty five.
Speaker 2 (02:21):
On the way next.
Speaker 1 (02:22):
Got a text last night from Corey, one of my
favorite cryptic texts. I was a complete toolbox today and
I'm embarrassed. I'll tell you about it in the morning.
Speaker 2 (02:33):
I am actually really.
Speaker 4 (02:34):
Embarrassed, and I.
Speaker 2 (02:38):
We're not a nice person yesterday. Oh no, no, no,
it wasn't I it wasn't that at all.
Speaker 4 (02:42):
It was it was me trying to flex, okay, and
it was just embarrassing.
Speaker 1 (02:49):
Talk about it at six fifteen Hang on a variety
from the two thousands, the nineties, and today it's Star
one on one three, it's Marcus and Corey. Apparently Corey
embarrassed herself yesterday because I got a text last night
and it's said, I will tell you why I am
a gigantic toolbox tomorrow morning. So you're gonna tell us
what you did, and then judgment will be rendered.
Speaker 2 (03:08):
Oh it's so lame.
Speaker 4 (03:10):
So you know, my buddy in Menlo Park, doctor ort Lip,
is my.
Speaker 2 (03:14):
Guy when it comes to botox.
Speaker 4 (03:16):
And it's been a minute since I got bowtox because
after we went to Paris this summer, you know, we
had to kind of put some of those luxuries on
the back burner.
Speaker 1 (03:24):
This is already starting kind of d bagg. You're not kidding,
I know.
Speaker 2 (03:28):
So we had to.
Speaker 1 (03:28):
Go to Paris sumride to put my bowtox on the
back burner.
Speaker 2 (03:33):
That's responsible. I think that's responsible.
Speaker 1 (03:35):
Be in a dink just sounds amazing.
Speaker 4 (03:37):
So I asked Jeff because I like to go with
my husband. I said, hey, can you go on Friday?
And he said, yeah, I can make that work. So
I reached out to og Esthetics and I was like, hey,
it's Corey. I would love to schedule some bowtoks with
doctor Ortlipp. And so they called me and we were
on the phone, and the lovely woman I was talking to, Gladys,
(03:57):
was like, hey, you know, he likes to do this
in the morning, and I was like, oh, I can't
really do mornings. And then I said, how's Friday and
she said, well, you know, he's kind of booked with surgeries,
and this weird thing in my brain was like, I
wonder if doctor ort Lipp would move things.
Speaker 2 (04:12):
Around if you knew me. Did you pull the old
Do you know who I am?
Speaker 1 (04:17):
You dead? She's covering her face with her heads you
pulled the old? Well, I'm Corey from the Marcus and
Corey boarding show.
Speaker 2 (04:25):
We talked about this.
Speaker 1 (04:26):
I'll never do that.
Speaker 2 (04:28):
I never do it. I never do it except for
this time when you need it to. I just said, hey,
this is Corey from Starr. Oh God, I know it
hurts even saying out loud. And she said, you dropped
your own name. She said, oh, I know who you are. Oh,
you're still not getting it. She made an appointment for
(04:49):
us on Friday, So.
Speaker 1 (04:51):
You did get it.
Speaker 2 (04:52):
I got it.
Speaker 4 (04:52):
But the car well, I feel like I should bring
gifts for everybody, and should I mean, chip Clip ain't
gonna cut it something.
Speaker 1 (05:01):
You have to slip her a hundie And so I
said to her, I.
Speaker 2 (05:03):
Go, will you do me a favor? As soon as
we hang out with the phone, will you let everybody
in the office note what a d bag I am.
I literally said that. I said, I feel so bad.
I can't I can't believe I did that. It's gross.
Speaker 1 (05:14):
She hung up the phone, and she looked around at everybody.
Why does everybody calls here think they're the most important
person calling.
Speaker 2 (05:20):
It's not even that.
Speaker 4 (05:22):
I just I know that doctor Ortlip is a super
cool guy. I know he listens to the show. I'm sorry,
I'm sorry, I'm a bad person.
Speaker 1 (05:32):
All right, I'm not going to lay in on you
because you've realized your error. He immediately and have the phone.
I just I wanted to crawl into a rock.
Speaker 5 (05:39):
You know me.
Speaker 2 (05:40):
I never pull that card. I know you. I never
pulled that card.
Speaker 1 (05:43):
Actually surprised because if I came in telling that story,
you would roll your eyes so hard.
Speaker 2 (05:48):
You're right, but this is why I'm confessing. I'm confessing
your respects, and I feel very much remorse.
Speaker 1 (05:55):
Okay, well what do we do then?
Speaker 2 (05:57):
I'm going to bring gifts to all the people in
that and say, feel free to talk about what a
tool I am to everyone. You know, I feel so
gross right now, I understand your error. Never do that again.
We'll never do it again. I don't care if I'm
on fire. Don't you know who I am?
Speaker 1 (06:16):
Now you're never going to live it down. Now it
lives up here red free to check what's trending in
a little bit. I appreciate your honesty. Corey Well Variety
the two thousands, the nineties, and today it's Star one
on one three, it's Marcus and Corey. And now for
the most twenty twenty five headline ever, Oh boy, one
in three Americans are actually using their paid time off
to sleep, not to travel.
Speaker 2 (06:37):
That kind of makes me sad.
Speaker 1 (06:38):
I'm reading that burnout is it an all time high?
Sleeplessness at an all time high. So I had to
look up, like why why is it so much different
now than it was, say, ten years ago, twenty years ago?
And the reasons makes sense, because I'll be honest with you,
My first blink was like, all right, people are just
getting lazier, they don't want to work as much, but
that's not accurate.
Speaker 2 (06:58):
They actually need this.
Speaker 1 (07:00):
Yes, so sleep is getting disrupted a because we're all
staying on our screens way too late. There's that social
media has glorified what we call the hustle culture, staying
up later to do more things, glorifying the fact that
you don't sleep. For example, which is terrible for you.
Speaker 4 (07:19):
The fact that you lose IQ points temporarily when you
don't get enough sleep.
Speaker 2 (07:24):
Yes, that's not going to help your work grind if
you're kind of stupid.
Speaker 1 (07:27):
Speaking of your grind, people are more apt to work
non standard hours, so irregular schedules, shift work, gig economy.
This happened in real time over the weekend. I went
to the Giants game with a buddy of mine and
it was like seven o'clock at night. One of our
coworkers was in the garage just taking a nap in
the car and he woke up when we pulled up,
(07:48):
and I was like, are you going home? And dude,
he lives in Benetia and he was like, nah, man,
I just got off shift and I think I'm going
to go drive for Uber for a couple of hours.
And I was just like, brot for him, you know
what I mean?
Speaker 4 (08:01):
At least a chance to take a nap, yeah, But
I don't know if that's.
Speaker 2 (08:04):
Enough to really help your body.
Speaker 1 (08:06):
So sleeplessness is one thing, the reason why people are
taking more sleep vacations, and then burnout is the other thing.
Speaker 2 (08:13):
And I was like, why is.
Speaker 1 (08:14):
Burnout so pervasive? In twenty twenty, I've well, the workload
is more, yes, because we have more technology that's supposed
to quote unquote help us out. And then past that,
we have irregular hours, a lot of people working from home.
Speed pace and the complexity of change, And that hit
home for me.
Speaker 4 (08:35):
Yeah, speed and pace, because this has happened to us
a couple of times in the last few weeks. Is
we'll get a request to do something in an email, right,
and then a different person will ask us for the
same request and a different email, right, And then we'll
get that same request from the same two people again
within an hour and we haven't even gotten done with.
Speaker 2 (08:52):
Our show yet.
Speaker 1 (08:53):
Like how many times are you at work and somebody's like,
I need this right now, right, and you're like, what.
Speaker 2 (08:58):
Can I finish what I have to do right now
and then do your thing?
Speaker 1 (09:02):
And also I still need to read this email about
how all of our systems changed because of AI and
how I have to learn something new. So then I
got it. Then I was like, oh, yeah, okay.
Speaker 6 (09:11):
So you couple that with the fact that in twenty
twenty five we are expected to always be on because
connectivity is like a real thing.
Speaker 1 (09:18):
Sure you know, we work, let's call it five am
to like two pm. That's like an eight hour day. Yeah,
but then we could get an email at five thirty
and be expected to.
Speaker 2 (09:29):
React, yes, and that with burnout.
Speaker 4 (09:33):
That's hard for me. I got to say don't. I
don't look at emails after five.
Speaker 1 (09:37):
So they cited a collapse of boundaries in twenty twenty five. Okay,
and then you have labor market pressures, so you know
a lot of layouts coming up, especially with the end
of the year. A lot of people are feeling that.
And then the cost of living has made it so
everybody's just stressing out about where. You know, I got
to I gotta make money as fast as I can.
Speaker 2 (09:55):
Well, you always joke around about having a kid in
private school.
Speaker 1 (09:58):
I mean that's my choice. There are people out there
just trying to make it, you know what I mean. Yeah,
those are the people that are really feeling it. And so, yeah,
burnout is a big thing, and sleeplessness is a big thing.
So therefore people one in three Americans are going on
vacation taking PTO just sleep just to sleep. Feel for you, man, ah,
(10:20):
where are you at on this?
Speaker 4 (10:21):
You better get yourself some really nice pajamas if your
vacation is in your bed. I want good sheets, I
want a good comforter, and I want some really fancy pjs.
Speaker 1 (10:31):
I already say Folly m right.
Speaker 2 (10:34):
This is what I'm talking about.
Speaker 7 (10:36):
It's what's trending on Star, what's happening in entertainment news,
the biggest stories of the day, and everything people are
talking about today in the bay Man.
Speaker 2 (10:46):
This headline took me out. What's up Nicole Kidman and
Keith Urban.
Speaker 7 (10:50):
Oh?
Speaker 4 (10:50):
I know, they have reportedly split after nineteen years of marriage.
Apparently she didn't want this and she's been fighting to
save the marriage. The couple have been living apart to
this source since the beginning of the summer. They married
in June two thousand and six and share two daughters,
Sunday Rose and Faith Margaret.
Speaker 7 (11:06):
Oh.
Speaker 4 (11:06):
It makes me sady, It really does, because you know,
when you look at celebrity couples and it can be
super tumultuous, like Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez, and then
you see someone like Nicole Kimen and Keith Urban, you're really.
Speaker 1 (11:16):
Rooting for him.
Speaker 2 (11:17):
Yeah, so that's too bad.
Speaker 4 (11:20):
Taylor Swift is not only shooting promos for her upcoming album,
The Life of a show Girl. She's also passed five
million pre saves on Spotify, passing her own record with
the Tortured Poets Department. She's been putting up electronic billboards
with Spotify around the world.
Speaker 2 (11:35):
They're very cryptic. They feature an outline of Swift's eras
tour stage kind of looks like a key. Not sure
what it means yet. If you want to get a
KitchenAid mixer inspired by Taylor Swift, they have unveiled a
limited edition Tangerine Twinkle stand mixer and you can win
it through a sweet stakes running through the end of
this week. If you want to win, you go to
kitchen aid dot com. I mean they only made one,
(11:57):
they made a few, Okay. I do like the description
of the color. It's a sparkly tangerine twinkle. Oh. I'm
looking at a picture of it right now. It is cute?
Is it twinkly? Yes?
Speaker 1 (12:11):
It is actually twenty years so twinkly.
Speaker 2 (12:14):
Sorry.
Speaker 4 (12:16):
Twenty years after The Simpsons appeared on the big screen
in their first full length film, They're going to be
getting a follow up. The TV series is still popular.
In its thirty seventh season, This is only the second
feature film for them two thousand and sevens The Simpsons
Movie was a smash. We don't have any details about
the new movie other than the premiere date July twenty third,
twenty twenty seven.
Speaker 1 (12:38):
I remember watching them as shorts on The Tracy Olmans
Show back where they started and then then the and
I kind of fell off watching it, to be honest
with you. Kind of the same with South Park, but gosh,
such a great show.
Speaker 4 (12:50):
What I love is they make fun of their roots,
like they'll have you know, because Homer's appearance has changed
over the years, right, and the new Homer will like
run into the old Homer.
Speaker 1 (13:01):
When universes collide. You know what celebrity couple trips me out?
Going back to Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban breaking up
is Enrique Iglesias and uh is it Anna Karnakova. They're
having a baby, I know. But the reason that they
trip me out is because they're super high profile.
Speaker 2 (13:20):
But you never hear a word. You literally never hear
a word about them. And that's good.
Speaker 4 (13:26):
Yeah, that's good, and that's it's funny. Brought the book
because I just read that they're having another baby.
Speaker 2 (13:30):
I love that about them.
Speaker 3 (13:32):
All right?
Speaker 1 (13:32):
Are you sitting down you're a millennial or gen X?
This is tremendous news. Reading Rainbow is back. It could
be a reboot on PBS, and I am here for it.
Oh man, read.
Speaker 2 (13:52):
Feel the moment right about now? Forens to and ways
to grow?
Speaker 1 (13:58):
All right, I gotta get back to the story.
Speaker 7 (13:59):
You know.
Speaker 4 (14:00):
Reading is so good, and I think my mom so
much for when I was a kid, she just take
me to the library on the weekends and I would get.
Speaker 2 (14:06):
Bored watching TV and go in the other room and
read a book.
Speaker 1 (14:09):
My daughter is a huge reader, so's my wife. And
my mother will tell anybody that I learned to read
when I was three and I loved it.
Speaker 4 (14:16):
What's great about it is it helps with intelligence as well.
People who read at a young age have an easier
time in life.
Speaker 1 (14:24):
So LaVar Burton will not be returning as the host unfortunately,
although I believe he could.
Speaker 2 (14:30):
He could, But would you say he's sixty seven.
Speaker 1 (14:31):
He's sixty eight, Okay, but he did it for decades.
Speaker 2 (14:35):
We love him. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (14:36):
The new host though, former Solano County Librarian putting the
bay on the map one of Michael Threetz, who is
gigantic on social media, built a national following and he
is he just has He has a delivery that is
just lovely.
Speaker 2 (14:53):
He was chosen.
Speaker 1 (14:54):
So PBS wants somebody that can bridge kind of adults and.
Speaker 2 (14:58):
Parents at the same time. That's great.
Speaker 1 (15:00):
It's got that librarian cred having worked at the Fairfield
Public Library, which I respect. So good luck Michael Thwrietz
and I will be watching that.
Speaker 2 (15:09):
That's awesome. What's your daughter?
Speaker 1 (15:11):
Oh yeah, National Chewing Gum Day today. As we move on,
if you go to the Star one on one three
fm Instagram, thank you to one Corey Foley for our
poll of the day.
Speaker 4 (15:20):
The pole has to do with what is your flavor
when it comes to chewing chewing gum? Are you minty?
Are you bubble gum? Are you fruity?
Speaker 2 (15:30):
Are you other?
Speaker 1 (15:34):
So that's on the Star one on one three FM Instagram.
Up in the Stories Dad Joke of the Week also
up and it is a hitter this week. Sure, I
will just say that it's very instrumental in do you
having a good morning?
Speaker 2 (15:47):
Okay, all right, okay, I'll check.
Speaker 1 (15:49):
That out on the Marcus of Corey Instagram right now,
let me know what you think.
Speaker 6 (15:54):
Dans what self gutch, what's trending every weekday morning on
the fifties.
Speaker 2 (15:58):
That's six fifty.
Speaker 7 (16:01):
In connection now with Marcus and Corey everywhere at Star
one O one three FM and at Marcus and Corey.
Speaker 1 (16:09):
More variety from the two thousands, the nineties and today
it's Star one on one three, It's Marcus and Corey.
You know what time it is. It's everybody's favorite man
second date update, right.
Speaker 2 (16:19):
You know, love never takes a break, and we're here
to make sure that love train keeps chugging on down
the tracks.
Speaker 1 (16:25):
If you say love will keep us together, I am
tapping out, no, I want to do that.
Speaker 2 (16:30):
And we just want to make sure that you get
that second date. I heard Leah chuckle. Hey girl, thank you,
that's going on.
Speaker 1 (16:36):
Good morning, Welcome, Hi, good morning, hell of an intro folly.
You're welcome. We want to figure out what happened to
your date. I understand you've been ghosted and I don't
like it. Let's talk about ally either.
Speaker 5 (16:51):
I'm still like trying to figure it out.
Speaker 1 (16:53):
Sure, how'd you meet Bumble?
Speaker 5 (16:57):
Like everybody meets We met on Bumble and like I
really liked him, but I've been waiting for him to
reach out and he still hasn't. I texted him after
the date to thank him for taking me out, but
his reply was really short, and when I texted again,
he never answered. And I don't know what If you
(17:20):
don't like me, then just say that I can take
it weird to.
Speaker 3 (17:26):
Just go at the fooge.
Speaker 2 (17:27):
What did you guys do.
Speaker 1 (17:28):
On your date?
Speaker 5 (17:30):
We got drinks and with drinks with a little charcouds,
you know, because Tucci, yeah, sharkouds.
Speaker 2 (17:41):
I love it.
Speaker 5 (17:42):
I love meat and meats and cheeses, and that it
was fun like it was. I felt like we talked
a lot. I feel like there was non stop talking.
So I just don't understand what could have happened.
Speaker 1 (17:53):
Okay, Corey, do you have any idea what might have happened.
Speaker 4 (17:56):
What we don't realize is that actually Alex is a cop,
and Alic goes undercover to infiltrate an organization of a
gangland chief and he gangs the mobster's trust. But then
a career criminal infiltrates the police department and reports on
its activities to his boss. Now, when both organizations learn
(18:18):
they have a moil in their.
Speaker 2 (18:19):
Midst I was gonna say that the she beat you.
I wanted that one.
Speaker 5 (18:31):
Leonardo DiCaprio, that one.
Speaker 4 (18:33):
Can dream, right, Yeah, I mean, I mean it makes
sense why he's not available right now.
Speaker 1 (18:40):
I can't believe you got a movie that I knew.
Speaker 5 (18:44):
I can't believe you're trying to convince me.
Speaker 2 (18:46):
That try to pick. Let's just move on.
Speaker 1 (18:52):
I'll tell you what. We're gonna call Alex and try
to figure it out. Okay, I want to get you
a second day, but at least I want to figure
out why ghost it? So just can you hang on
the line for.
Speaker 2 (19:01):
A song, Yeah, for sure, we'll do it.
Speaker 1 (19:04):
Next Second Date Update Star one on one three variety
from the two thousands, the nineties, and today it's Star
one on one three. It's Marcus and Corey. We're doing
Second Date Update right now. We're chatting with Leah about
her date with Alex. They went out just really simple drinks.
There was a charcuterie board involved. They met on bumble.
He is ghosted and according to you, Leah, you talked
(19:25):
into the wee hours of the morning. So we're trying
to figure this out. You're still there, Okay, she's there.
Speaker 5 (19:31):
Okay, I'm here. I'm here. Yeah, I don't. I just
don't know, like I genuinely don't know what happened.
Speaker 1 (19:37):
It's okay, well it's go time out. Go ahead and
mut your phone. Let's give him a shout here we go.
Speaker 2 (19:53):
Hello, how may speak with Alex? Please? This Hi Alex.
It's Marcus and Corey Star one oh win three? Hey man?
Speaker 3 (20:03):
The radio station?
Speaker 2 (20:04):
Yes, the radio station.
Speaker 1 (20:07):
I don't suppose you listen to our show, do you?
I do?
Speaker 3 (20:11):
I mean not regularly, but I have heard you guys before.
This is kind of cool.
Speaker 2 (20:14):
Okay, are you familiar with second Dan and Update?
Speaker 7 (20:19):
No?
Speaker 2 (20:20):
Let me explain.
Speaker 4 (20:21):
So what we do is we talk to somebody who
went on a first date and they had a really
great time, but now they're not getting a second date,
and they want to know, why would you mind going
on the air and talking about a date you went on.
Speaker 2 (20:32):
Do you have a moment?
Speaker 3 (20:35):
Sure? I guess.
Speaker 2 (20:36):
Okay.
Speaker 1 (20:36):
We want to ask you specifically about your date with
Leah because she had a great time.
Speaker 2 (20:43):
Oh there's a giggle and she says, you ghosted. We're
not sure.
Speaker 1 (20:48):
I'm gonna want to be accusing you of anything, but
did you ghosts? If So did something happen or you've
been busy or what's the story? Tell us everything? How
did it go from you? Yes?
Speaker 3 (21:01):
Okay, so yeah, we matched on the app. It was bumble.
I thought she was super hot and I was very
much into it. But over the course of the day
it just got super annoying, and she annoyed me to
no end. She's a theater chick. Okay, okay, the fact
(21:27):
that she used to do theater, or even she likes musicals,
it's that she acts like a theater kid, like that's
her m o, that's her personality.
Speaker 1 (21:39):
I don't know, you know, I know, you know, you're
the one with the acting degree.
Speaker 2 (21:45):
Anyway, I don't go karaoke by myself.
Speaker 1 (21:47):
Sorry, Alex, please continue, Please continue.
Speaker 3 (21:50):
Well, I was just gonna say all she talked about
was Broadway shows and and I hadn't seen her improv
true whatever the hell that even is. I'm a big
sports guy, like football, basketball, Uh, so I know nothing
about this world. She was suggested karaoke for a date,
and then I realized it was just so she could
(22:11):
perform show tune for an hour, Like that's I can't
do that. She's kind of abdoxious and I could never
give her the attention she requires to be honest, and
that it's not a fit.
Speaker 5 (22:21):
Wait, can I just can I just say something because
guess what, No, But I honestly I just can't.
Speaker 2 (22:31):
I don't know if you noticed, how did you guys
even match?
Speaker 5 (22:35):
The thing is I knew who you were when we matched,
and I didn't like judge you for it. So it's
kind of like, I just can't believe that this is
the reason why you're not even just like be a
man and say you're just not interested. But to ghost,
it's just like you didn't even know like basic Broadway shows,
and I didn't care, like a guy in my impa
(22:56):
of course.
Speaker 3 (22:56):
I didn't know. That's not my bag, Like I don't
know anything about that world exactly.
Speaker 5 (23:00):
You're proving my point. I didn't care that you didn't know.
I thought I could introduce you to that because we
were having a good time. Maybe we would get to
the point where we would see a show together, nothing
about it, but you were made it seem like you
weren't interested. So to just not hear from you, it's
just childish. Just say you're not into I don't know
(23:21):
theater nerds. You know what, it doesn't never mind. I
a guy in my improv class just asked me out,
and I am really excited to go out with him.
He knows every single song from Grease one and Grease two, so.
Speaker 3 (23:40):
You know what that's I'm absolutely happy for you. I'm
just not a fit and I'm not that bummed, to
be honest. Good for you, good for him. Maybe you're
just moving forward. Sure it's on your first date.
Speaker 5 (23:52):
Not a bad idea, even though Katz is not a
relevant musical at the moment, but just for future reference
because we're done with with each other. You should not
ghost people as a fully functioning adult in society, because
to be ghosted it's very sad.
Speaker 3 (24:07):
I feel like this is a monologue on stage.
Speaker 1 (24:10):
Do you guys be You know what?
Speaker 5 (24:12):
Never mind, good riddans.
Speaker 2 (24:13):
I got your improv troup perform because I want to
check it out. Hang on you.
Speaker 3 (24:17):
If you need agin for an improv skit? How about
a pineapple? Ready?
Speaker 5 (24:21):
Go? Is his next date?
Speaker 3 (24:25):
You?
Speaker 2 (24:25):
Guys? Hang on?
Speaker 1 (24:26):
Hang on you too, hold on not his lady.
Speaker 2 (24:30):
I guess I don't know, man, but he nailed it
with the pineapple.
Speaker 6 (24:35):
I loved that Second Date Update seven oh five Weekday
Morning to replace it nine oh five.
Speaker 1 (24:40):
Of course you got the podcast on the iHeartRadio app.
Speaker 2 (24:42):
You know this set a pre set. It's Marcus and
Corey Second Date Update.
Speaker 1 (24:47):
More variety from the two thousands, the nineties, and today
it's Star one on one three. It's Marcus and Corey
seven nineteen Tuesday.
Speaker 4 (24:53):
Good morning, just coming out of Second Date Update. I
thought this was an interesting list.
Speaker 1 (25:00):
If you want to get over your breakup quickly, do
these things.
Speaker 4 (25:03):
And I like what's on this list because I'm guilty
of not doing some of these.
Speaker 2 (25:08):
Can we agree that there are two types of breakups though.
Speaker 1 (25:10):
There's the breakup where one person kind of is still
way into the other person and they just kind of
call it somebody gets dumped. That's okay, And then the
other one is like where if you've been let's say
you've been in a relationship for a long time and
you've kind of just drifted apart and maybe maybe everything
just kind of evaporated years ago, but you're still together.
(25:34):
Maybe it's for the kids, or maybe because it's too
expensive to break up, because that's a real thing.
Speaker 2 (25:38):
It is a real thing.
Speaker 1 (25:39):
And then when you break up, it's like.
Speaker 4 (25:41):
Eh, that's a little different because you're finally just doing
something that need to be done.
Speaker 2 (25:45):
You're playing plug on something that was already dead.
Speaker 1 (25:47):
But I think these tips are for if you get dumped,
Yes more so than the other one. But yeah, please continue.
Speaker 4 (25:54):
So healing does take time, it's a process for sure,
But if you want to make speed up that breakup hangover,
these are some great steps.
Speaker 2 (26:04):
And the first one, of course, feel your feelings.
Speaker 1 (26:06):
Yeah, let it go with anything.
Speaker 4 (26:08):
You know, when you're grieving anything, you need to feel
those feelings because if you shove them down, they're gonna
pop up later in a really bad way.
Speaker 1 (26:16):
I loved the video that Snoop Dogg put out during
the pandemic when he would get frustrated with everything, he
would go out to the garage, sit in the suv
and play let it go off, the Frozen.
Speaker 2 (26:26):
Sent whatever's gonna work for you. I mean, I always
have my breakup CDs that I listen to, and I
love hashtag Hooba Steak.
Speaker 1 (26:34):
Number one, hitter, HOOPI Steak, the Reason It's True, that's
real talk.
Speaker 2 (26:40):
That's real talk.
Speaker 4 (26:41):
Number two on this list that will help you try
and get a breakup faster. Yeah, don't see closure.
Speaker 2 (26:48):
Yeah, I've done it. It doesn't work. You will. There's
nothing that your ex will say that's going to make
you feel better.
Speaker 1 (26:58):
The best closure I ever got was she still wanted
to hang out Nope, And I was like, no, because
I don't.
Speaker 2 (27:08):
I don't want to. I don't want to start this again.
Well here's my thinking on Oh, you know I'm friends
with all my exes. Listen, you dump me, you don't
get my friendship, right, that's a gift and you threw
it away, so you don't get both.
Speaker 4 (27:22):
Number Three, block your ex. Don't give into any sort
of temptation. I think there's an app that if you're drinking,
you can turn this app on. It won't let you
send any texts.
Speaker 1 (27:32):
Can you imagine you're going out for the hang on?
I got to turn my app on.
Speaker 4 (27:36):
No, that's absolutely responsible, I guess, because you're gonna make
poor choices at the end of the night.
Speaker 1 (27:42):
On that note, refuse to sock your ex's social media. Yes,
you just want to make sure you're doing better than
they are.
Speaker 4 (27:48):
Yeah, but at the same time, I don't want to
see who they're dating. One of the guys that it
took me a long time to get over he left
me for somebody else, So I don't want.
Speaker 2 (27:56):
To go on to social media and see him with America.
Yeah that was her name, America.
Speaker 1 (28:01):
Wow. Quickest ways to get over a breakup. I don't
like this one. Make a list of everything that went wrong.
Why not, because it's so much negativity.
Speaker 4 (28:12):
It is negative, but you're also releasing it and you're
saying to yourself, this is why it didn't work, and
it reminds you of why it didn't work. Okay, because
when you're in a breakup and you're sad and you
miss that person, you're not thinking of all the negative things.
Speaker 2 (28:25):
You're thinking of. They maybe laugh and everything is so great.
Well remember that time you cheated on you? Write that down.
Speaker 1 (28:33):
I don't want to. I don't want to think about that.
You gotta do this, man, it's boot camp, all right.
So the next four can be coupled together. Get off
the couch and do things. For example, move things around literally,
rearrange your house or your apartment. Spend time with your
loved ones. Yeah, plan something fun.
Speaker 2 (28:49):
I like that rearranging of your household apartment, because you
know what, new start, new start, sure, and then finally
tiptoe back into dating. Don't it's so hard run into
a new relationship just to forget another relationship because.
Speaker 1 (29:03):
You're not over it. Well, especially if you were in
a relationship like I said, for an extended period of
time that died years ago. God, because I remember a
big breakup after something like that happened, and I wanted
to get back in the dating pool immediately. No, you
need some companionship, but have fun.
Speaker 2 (29:21):
Go out with friends, Go with friend go out in groups.
You know.
Speaker 1 (29:25):
Some of the best advice I ever got that I'll
close with. I was dating my now wife, like you know,
twelve thirteen years ago, and there was another couple there
who were farther along in their relationship, and the guy
stopped me. He goes, Marcus, what you're doing right now?
Dating like this is the most fun you're probably going
to have, So just relish it, enjoy it, enjoy, don't
push it along too fast.
Speaker 4 (29:45):
And the reason that I am so into this list
is I never did anything right after a breakup. I
didn't do any of these, So if you can implement
them into your life, things would.
Speaker 2 (29:54):
Be so much better.
Speaker 1 (29:56):
Corey Foley out here saving lives hashtag America. Gotta let
that go.
Speaker 2 (30:07):
It's time for good News with Marcus and Corey.
Speaker 7 (30:12):
Sometimes all you need is one a good song to
make it a great day.
Speaker 2 (30:16):
So let's do this.
Speaker 7 (30:17):
It's good News on Star.

Speaker 2 (30:50):

we were looking at homes. Yeah, we actually found.
Speaker 4 (30:54):
A place, like a couple blocks away. We're in Mission Terrast.
Glenn Park's right there. It's where I get my nails done.
Speaker 2 (31:00):
I love it. Could we get a shout out to
your nail salon?
Speaker 4 (31:03):
I think it's just Glenn Park Nails. There you go, yeah,
Glen Park Nails will be there tomorrow. And then one
of the fun things about Glenn Park is Glen Park's Station,
which is like this super cool.
Speaker 2 (31:14):
It looks like a dive but it's not.
Speaker 4 (31:16):
And you can go to any of the food places
around there, like there's a sandwich shop, there's a tacarilla
yeah there, and you can grab whatever you want to eat,
and then you can go to Glen Park Station and
eat your food there and have whatever you want to
drink and just hang out.
Speaker 1 (31:30):
If you want an easy San Francisco experience, just hop
on Bark, get off at Glen Park.
Speaker 2 (31:36):

Speaker 1 (31:36):
The magazine praised its balance of urban convenience and small
town charm.
Speaker 2 (31:41):
There's a cute little supermarket and they've got a cheese shop,
and then they've got the cheese boutique. Yeah, and they've
got a fun little store for pets. I mean, it's
super cute for walking.
Speaker 1 (31:52):
I got to get a shout out to my favorites
Gelina Pizza and then Higher Grounds Coffee House. So again,
and if you just want that consumm at San Francisco experience,
get on bart pop off at Glen Park and just
walk around It's so cute.
Speaker 2 (32:07):
If you looking for breakfast the Glen Park Cafe.
Speaker 1 (32:10):
Okay, parking is sus but that's just San Francisco. I
don't have a problem with it, really, okay anyway. One
