How To Save On Summer Travel:
  • Be a points hacker - It’s a great time to use all those points and miles you’ve built up.
  • Don’t pay full price on travel gear - Before you buy new things like portable cribs, compact strollers or travel-friendly car seats, consider open-box and overstock gear at sites like REBEL. These items were returned, but never used, and come with discounts as much as 50% off retail.
  • Try an off-season destination - Pick a place that’s not all over Instagram in July.
  • Find those free activities - Look for urban green spaces, interactive art parks, summer festivals and fairs at your destination - some cities even create calendars with zero-cost options for families.
  • Think midweek, not peak week - Want to fly on a Friday? So does everybody else, so consider shifting your dates to midweek — especially Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

How To Keep Your Brain In Tip Top Shape:
  • Exercise -  research shows that the number one thing you can do for the brain is to be active regularly.
  • Eat more whole foods and fewer processed foods
  • Minimize drinking and don’t smoke
  • Manage your stress - Stress may not be a direct risk factor for dementia, but chronic stress is tough on the brain’s memory system.
  • Challenge your brain - Keeping your brain sharp by playing games, learning a new language or instrument, and doing social activities.
  • Get seven to nine hours of sleep - Not getting enough sleep is bad for the brain and can even raise the risk of Alzheimer’s.
  • Spend time with friends and family - Staying socially active is incredibly important, as research shows that social isolation is linked to as much as a 50% higher risk of dementia.

Signs Your Man Is Noble:
  • He opens doors for you
  • He calls you instead of texting
  • He walks on the street side of the sidewalk
  • He walks you to your door
  • He sends good morning texts
  • He understands the etiquette of leadership
  • He puts his hand on the small of your back when introducing you to someone
  • He takes the time to plan a date

Second Date Update: Emma calls about Paul. She thought he was a true prospect since he took dating and relationships seriously. Now, nothing.

Speaker 1 (00:00):
More variety from the two thousands, the nineties, and today
it's Star one on one three Marcus and Corey five
fifty eight. Good morning, man, it is crazy out there,
like the White Knuckler this morning. If you're just waking up.
A couple of things going on. Something Corey and I
experienced on the two eighty extension. This is around the
Port of San Francisco exit northbounds northbound. There is a

(00:22):
maybe still I don't know, but an SUV black suv
on its side in the far right lane. Yeah, and
traffic is pretty pretty gnarly all the way to the
one to one interchange.

Speaker 2 (00:33):
And then on top of that, there is a fire
at the San Leandro BART station. Yes, and so there's
no Orange or Green line service. BART services stopped between
Barry us A, Dublin, Pleasanton and Lake merrit due to
that fire. Passengers should seek alternate transportation.

Speaker 1 (00:51):
They don't even have a bus bridge setup or any
sort of anything. They're just like, hey, man, if you're
getting up, this might be a good day to work
from home. I'm being honest, it's a little nutty out
there right now.

Speaker 2 (01:02):
When I saw that car and it's like I must
have gotten there fairly soon after because there there is
emergency personnel on the scene, but not a lot happening yet.
And then you called me and you're like, ah, they're
diverting people and they.

Speaker 1 (01:17):
Were doing that thing. The CHP was doing the thing
where they're swerving back and forth trying to slow everybody down. Yeah,
and then yeah, and then an ambulance tried to get through.
So it's you know, it's not good. But again that's
that's the two eighty northbound on the extension at the
Port of San Francisco with Caesar Chavez. There is an
suv on its side in the right lane, and traffic

(01:38):
is pretty snarly all the way down to the one
on one interchange. It might have gotten better, because I'm
not seeing anything right now. Maybe they were, maybe they
are moved it. How are you uh good? It was
a beautiful day yesterday, really was. Uh.

Speaker 2 (01:52):
It's so funny because there's a cat in my neighborhood
who's an outdoor cat. It's definitely it's not astray. Someone
definitely owns it, but it loves to come in our
yard and son in the backyard, and so Jeff took
this great video of like my little dog, my youngest,
my female sitting at the door, completely unaware that there's
a cat in the yard because if she knew, she'd

(02:13):
lose her mind, and she is in the cast, is like,
what what are you gonna do? That?

Speaker 1 (02:18):
Right in the most cat way possible. Totally, it was
really nice. I took a nice cat nap in my
car yesterday where yesterday was like a like a self
care day because I had a teeth cleaning at one o'clock. Huh,
and and I showed up early. I showed up at
twelve thirty. I was like, I'm just gonna take a
nap in the car.

Speaker 3 (02:36):
Do that.

Speaker 1 (02:37):
Oh, it's delicious now, like you've never had anybody like? Sir, Sorry,
you can't sleep here, not yet. Okay. Where was I?
I was in the Lindamar Shopping Center parking lot, and
then I went from the dental office directly to a
Cairo appointment. Wow, I'll keeping myself okay. Anyway, it's six o'clock.

(02:58):
We have lots going on this morning, including a full
hookup for you to get the Cash Creek Casino resort.
We're talking transportation, we're talking hotel, we're talking tickets to
not only a show, but a private VIP party for
their anniversary seven thirty five. We talked back for tickets.
Thanks for waking up with us. More variety from the
two thousands, the nineties, and today it's Star one on
one three, it's Marcus and Corey, good morning, Hello. Summer

(03:20):
travel in high gear. And they listed five ways to
save smartly on your family travel. Okay, and these are
great because it takes a lot of money to move
your family. You know, I mean, I'm secretly glad I
only have one child. Yeah, and my child never asked
for a sibling because she realized if there's more than
one kid in the house, she's gonna have to split resources.

(03:41):
She doesn't want to do that. So Number one travel
like a points hacker. Points and miles aren't just for
business travelers. Get in the game with the family too.
And this is so poignant.

Speaker 2 (03:51):
Oh, We've had a lot of luck with our Alaska points.

Speaker 1 (03:54):
Mm hmm.

Speaker 2 (03:54):
That has been really helpful, especially when Jeff and I
were living in two different states.

Speaker 1 (03:58):
I just booked a trip to take the family to Bend,
Organ and used points twenty k per person plus twelve
dollars and fifty cents. Right, It makes a difference, though,
so attach all of your bills to your credit cards
get those points. This is another one that is key.
Think midweek, not peak week. I learned that whenever I

(04:19):
was booking for Vegas.

Speaker 2 (04:20):
Huh, it is so much cheaper to fly into Vegas
on a Monday or Thursday.

Speaker 1 (04:24):
If we can get the time off. But that's the thing.

Speaker 2 (04:27):
But like, if you want to stay at the hotel,
rates go up amazingly for Saturday and Sunday nights and
Friday nights.

Speaker 1 (04:34):
And that's the other end of it. So you fly
in on a Tuesday, which is the cheapest day to
fly for my Bend organ trip. Flying in on Tuesday,
flying out on Saturday. Oh there you go, not on Sunday,
because they put it right here if you're flying on
a Friday, or if you're flying on a Sunday, so
is the rest of America exactly. Fly in on a Tuesday,
fly out on a Saturday. Oh God, just saving money
gets me solid. I know I can see that.

Speaker 2 (04:55):
Please stop putting your hands where you're putting them.

Speaker 1 (05:02):
Choose it off season destination. I learned a concept during
my honeymoon when my wife wanted to go to Bora Bora,
and it was a billion dollars shoulder season. You ever
heard about shoulder seas? Okay, so shoulder season is the
time of year that is still nice, but it's not
tourist season. So in Bora Bora, the shoulder season is November, okay,

(05:24):
because you're wrapping up summer, but you're not quite in
the winter. Hurricane season. Now, is there a possibility of
a hurricane. Absolutely, but you roll the dice on shoulder season.
We saved a grip of cash. I'm getting so sweaty
right now. I have to go. If you're going to
act like this, skip full price on your travel gear.

(05:45):
It says, instead of buying everything new, shopping open box
or overstock gear, there are websites you can use, especially
if you have kids, where the stuff's going to be
kind of temporary because the kids they grow so fast. Well,
luggage just gets beat up.

Speaker 2 (06:00):
I mean, we've been using luggage that we got for
our wedding and you know, we've been married since two
thousand and eight, and we finally switched out the luggage
because there was like it's getting to the point where
the zippers aren't closing right and there's holes but if
you're ever sitting on the tarmac, watch the guys handling
your luggage.

Speaker 1 (06:16):
Oh yeah, don't buy anything nice now, this is great though.
I wish I would have known this one my child
was a toddler. Because these overstock places, it says you'r
find gear like compact strollers, portable crips, travel friendly car
seats returned but never used, repackaged and sold a major discounts,
sometimes up to fifty percent off. I love when I'm
in the airport and I see those kids riding the luggage.

(06:38):
Oh I want those? What so bad? Can an adult
do that?

Speaker 3 (06:43):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (06:43):
What's the weight limit on this thing? Asking for me?
I'm gonna throw in because I just went through it.
Join all the rewards programs you can, as far as
like car rentals and stuff. Yeah. No, hotels were on
the hertz Wagon and the rate yes, phenomenal. See if
you get a discount through work, because I know we do,
and it's pretty good. Nice. If you've got something to add,

(07:04):
use a talkback on the iHeartRadio app. It's that little
red microphone variety from the two thousands, the nineties and
today it's Star one on one three. It's Marcus and
Corey Tuesday, good morning, Hello. Saw an article about how
to protect your brain as you get older. I bring
Health Brain Camp and I was the poster child of
what not to Do two nights ago. Oh really well

(07:24):
to top two things on this lister to get seven
and nine hours of sleep and minimize your drinking. Oops.
And Sunday night, you know, we did the big gallop
for meals on wheels. There was copious amounts of wine,
and I think I got four hours of sleep, my
own fault. Can you make up sleep?

Speaker 4 (07:42):
Not?

Speaker 1 (07:43):
Technically you can to feel better, but it is not
good for you. Okay. Now, I did technically spend time
with friends and family the other night, which is good
for you. So that's good for you. Challenging your brain
is good for you. Making sure to manage your stress
is good for you. I got work on that one.
That one's looking right at your phone. Yeah, swoof, got

(08:03):
my number.

Speaker 5 (08:03):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (08:04):
Eat a diet rich in whole foods and lower end
processed foods. Okay, what if I like fake cheese, I
don't have anything to say to that. I can't judge you.

Speaker 2 (08:15):
I can't say anything because I too may like some
fake cheese.

Speaker 1 (08:19):
The number one way to protect your brain as you
get older is to exercise dot exercise dot exercise. So
what are you saying I should exercise? Probably exercise. Physical
activity is the number one hitter for dementia. That's really interesting.

Speaker 2 (08:34):
Yeah, because you wouldn't see the correlation between the brain
and you know, memory, But I guess you're keeping the
whole bodies all connected.

Speaker 1 (08:43):
Well. It says moderate aerobic resistance training regularly causes physical
and chemical changes in the brain that will support memory
and overall brain health. So number one hitter exercise, Number
two sleep, And then I would say number three is
socialized and socialize with the right people. You know, it's two.
I think these are all kind of obvious, but it's

(09:04):
good to have a little refresher m midweek. There you go,
challenge your brain. Star one O one three. More variety
from the two thousands, the nineties, and today it's Star
one on one three Marcus and Corey eight forty seven.

Speaker 1 (09:58):
No update, no good news yet that still we're still
shut down in those areas.

Speaker 2 (10:03):
Yes, you only positive I guess is AC Transit and
VT are offering mutual aid, but so far those lines
are still shut down.

Speaker 1 (10:11):
All right, Going.

Speaker 2 (10:13):
Into entertainment news, please, Jeff Bezos and Stories are getting
married at the end of June.

Speaker 1 (10:20):
I mean that part's cool.

Speaker 2 (10:22):
I guess they showed real restraint because they were going
to spend five hundred million dollars on their wedding.

Speaker 1 (10:27):
They paired it way down, you guys.

Speaker 2 (10:29):
Now they're just doing ten million dollars and you know,
intimate wedding with about two hundred people that I'm reading
this verbatim.

Speaker 1 (10:38):
Of course, Kim Kardashian will be there.

Speaker 2 (10:40):
Katie Perry, maybe we get centered to space again. Each
guest is going to cost an estimate of fifty thousand
luxury accommodations.

Speaker 1 (10:49):
It's going to cost five hundred thousand per night at
this hotel.

Speaker 2 (10:52):
And don't forget you've got your yacht docking fees as well.

Speaker 1 (10:55):
How much for docking. I don't have the.

Speaker 2 (10:57):
Docking fee, but there's you know, there's just all these
Its gonna be valet for the yachts.

Speaker 1 (11:04):
Wow.

Speaker 2 (11:05):
I've also emphasized that they're going to make sure they
respect Venice's uniqueness.

Speaker 1 (11:10):
Well, then don't go that was what they would like.

Speaker 2 (11:14):
Dave and Busters just dropped a summer season pass that
lets you play in limited video games every single day
through September one. Starts at sixty nine to ninety nine.
There's three tiers. You got access to new games like
Tapka Maverick. There's gonna be deals on food and drinks prizes.
I think that sounds like fun, especially if you're trying
to figure out thing for kids to do for the summer.

Speaker 1 (11:33):
I can almost guarantee you my wife has already bought passes.
And then Taylor Swift dropped a song during a new
episode of.

Speaker 2 (11:39):
The Handmaid's Tale. What Handmaid's Tale? Okay, look what you
made me do? Taylor's version was in the show. It
was a surprise to Swifties who are now expecting Taylor
to announce that the album Reputation Taylor's Version is coming soon.

Speaker 1 (11:54):
During the AMA's Next Monday. Was that an Easter egg?

Speaker 7 (11:57):
Then?

Speaker 2 (11:57):
Well, her website homepage was re organized with apparel music accessories.

the post thank you. The Rock and Roll Hall of
Fame class of twenty twenty five has been announced. I'm
not going to do them all. I'll just give you

(12:52):
the ones that I think are relevant to our format
and our our generation. Outcast, Cindy Lapper, Saltan Heppa, Sound Garden,
White Stripes all made it into the Hall of Fame
this time around. Nice, which is pretty cool.

Speaker 8 (13:05):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (13:05):
We'll go to sports really quick, guys. The forty nine ers,
on the heels of signing Brock Purty for a bajillion dollars,
have signed linebacker Fred Warner, who is arguably the best
linebacker in football, to half a bajillion dollars Wow, which
will then make him the highest paid linebacker in the
NFL with his new deal. Sports, guys make way too
much money. I'm gonna say it every time. I agree

(13:26):
with you. Uh, it'd be different if they didn't pass
it on to tickets tales to like the fans, because
it's impossible to go to any games right at any time, Dad,
joke of the week is posted and this is the
wordplay is so delicious. I'm pleased. Okay, I don't know
what's funnier the joke er, Corey's reaction. It's just exhausting.

You can check it out right now. It's on the
Marcus and Corey Instagram. Please give it a follow ups?
What self catch? What's trending every weekday? More in the fifties,
that's six fifty seven and eight fifty Am.

Speaker 4 (14:03):
I'm connection now with Marcus and Corey everywhere at Star
one O one three FM and at Marcus and Corey.

Speaker 1 (14:29):
Variety from the two thousands, the nineties and today it's
Star one on one three Marcus and Corey and it
is time once again for second date updates.

Speaker 2 (14:36):
Why are you not getting that second date? We want
to help you in your dating life, So we're going
to get you on the phone. You're going to tell
us about your date, and then we're going to try
and figure out why or how to get.

Speaker 1 (14:46):
The second date correct. Let's get Emma on the phone. Emma,
good morning, Hi, good morning, Hey, welcome. We want to
talk about this guy, Paul. You wrote in your DM
that this isn't the first time you've been ghosted, but
the first time you felt that a guy was worthy
to get answers about because you liked him so much.

Speaker 9 (15:06):
Fair.

Speaker 8 (15:06):
Yeah, that's exactly right. I feel like I finally found
what I think to be like a serious contender for
a partner, you know, Like he was just like the
whole package. He seemed like he was seriously wanting to
date me from the very beginning. He was talking about
how intentional he is, which is just rare with men

(15:27):
these days. And yeah, he just said that he wouldn't
even go on a date unless he saw future, so
that immediately kind of excited me.

Speaker 1 (15:35):
Paul has a very high EQ emotional intelligence. It sounds
very mature. Yeah, all right, And he's like.

Speaker 8 (15:43):
A super traditional guy, which I like to like, I
appreciate that. Like he took me on a real date,
you know, like you went to a dinner and a
really cute Italian place in downtown Pleasanton, and it was
just like so amazing. He talked about his life. He
was like opening up, you know, he talked about his
views and how he like centers his life on face

(16:04):
it was beautiful, like honestly, and I felt like, I
don't know, we were just kind of aligned on everything.
And you know, he took me home. He was super respectful.
He gave me a kiss on the cheek, and then
I saw that he like waited outside until I got
inside my house to leave, which, you know, just those
little things true.

Speaker 1 (16:22):
I like that.

Speaker 8 (16:24):
Yeah, Like we talked a little bit over text the
next day, but I don't know, it's kind of become
clear to me that he's kind of given me the
brush off.

Speaker 1 (16:31):
All right, Okay, here's what I think your thoughts.

Speaker 2 (16:34):
He joins a civilian diving team that has been enlisted
to search for a lost nuclear submarine and faces danger
while encountering an alien.

Speaker 1 (16:44):
Aquatic species Aliens. No Alien, No Alien. The Resurrection. No
it's not an Aliens movie. Oh, I have no idea.
The abyss that was my next guest. No, it wasn't.
Poor Emma, Emma. I'm sure he's fine. I'll tell you what.

(17:04):
She's still there.

Speaker 9 (17:05):
He lost her.

Speaker 1 (17:07):
He has no idea how to No one does. It's
all right, let's just call Paul. We're gonna call him,
try to figure this out. Okay. I liked it all
the way up to the ghost to be fair, Hey,
can you hang on the line through a song? Well
right from the two thousands, the nineties and today it's
Star one on one three. It's Marcus and Corey. We're
doing Second Date Update right now, and we have been

(17:27):
talking with Emma about Paul and to her point like
days haven't worked out before, but Paul is worth it.
That sounds that's the headline, A mature gentleman up until
the point where he ghosted. Some docking points for that, Emma,
are you ready to call him figure out what happened
with the first date?

Speaker 10 (17:43):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (17:43):
Okay, deep breath a mutual phone. Here we go. Hello, Hi,
may speak of Paul? Please?

Speaker 3 (17:57):
This is he.

Speaker 1 (17:58):
Hi Paul. It's Marcus and Corey from Star one to
Win three.

Speaker 3 (18:02):
Hey, hey, I love your show.

Speaker 1 (18:04):
Ohay, thank you, thanks man. We appreciate you listening. Do
you listen? You listened to the Second Date update?

Speaker 2 (18:10):
Ever?

Speaker 3 (18:11):
Yeah, for sure, I'm pretty familiar with it.

Speaker 1 (18:14):
Great, Well, that's what we're doing right now. Yeah, and
we're wondering if you wouldn't mind doing it with us.

Speaker 3 (18:20):
Oh okay, yeah, I think I think I know who
this is. Do you have Emma on the line.

Speaker 1 (18:25):
Matter of fact, we do. We do Emma?

Speaker 11 (18:27):
Oh okay, hi, hey, okay, So Paul, she really liked
you man up until the point where you ghosted.

Speaker 1 (18:39):
So what Yeah, how did the date go for you?
I mean, you know why we're here. We're trying to
get her a second date. So what's up?

Speaker 3 (18:47):
So Emma's a really great person and there's nothing like
personal or anything like that. The reason why I didn't
kind of let her know what was up was because
I don't want it to sound judgmental or like I'm
putting her down or I take any less of her
as a human being. It's it's just one of those
things that was kind of hard to like articulate without

(19:08):
coming across the wrong way.

Speaker 1 (19:10):
Okay, okay, can you elaborate?

Speaker 3 (19:14):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (19:14):
So one thing is that she has like quite a
few tattoos, and that, you know, I don't have a
problem with tattoos, like I have a couple of friends
that have them, But at the same time, like for me,
my body is my temple, and when like you're getting
married to somebody, you're sharing your body with them, and
I just don't see that as something that like I

(19:37):
kind of see eye to eye her work, you know,
with with her, and I think I take it pretty seriously,
you know, obviously, like.

Speaker 3 (19:44):
A lot of people have them.

Speaker 4 (19:45):
Now.

Speaker 3 (19:45):
I don't think it's like makes you a bad person
or it's a bad character.

Speaker 1 (19:50):
Sign or anything like that, but it's kind of like
not for you, yeah, exactly, So I'm getting.

Speaker 9 (19:59):
Yeah, and you know, kind of the other thing was
she told me a little bit about her dating history,
and I think we have different ideas on premarital sex,
Like I'm saving myself for marriage and I don't believe
in like shacking up before marriage either, like living together.

Speaker 5 (20:14):
So it's like it's just one of those things that's
something personal.

Speaker 9 (20:17):
I just wanted somebody that I'm a little bit more
on the same thing.

Speaker 1 (20:22):
Got it, Okay, Emima, We got some answers. How you feeling.

Speaker 10 (20:31):
I mean, look, I'm bummed and and everything, But at
the same time, I understand and like I like I said,
like he was really intentional about you know, who he
was and what he wanted and so honestly, like I
feel like I can't even be mad, and I do understand. Sure,
And yeah, no hard feeling. So I think he's a

(20:51):
great guy.

Speaker 2 (20:52):
This is the nicest gonna say the nicest not successful.

Speaker 1 (20:58):
Evolved is the word I was looking for. You guys
are adults. Let's give it up on Wow. Well, so okay,
it's not gonna work out. Sorry to say, but thank
you guys for ball again for being adults. Yeah, and
can you guys hang on the line. Yeah, thank you
hang on? That was very evolved. That was so grown up.

Speaker 5 (21:22):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (21:22):
Second Date Update seven oh five weekday mornings. You replace
it nine oh five. You know you got the podcast,
So that's on the iHeartRadio app. Literally, Marcus and Corey
Second Date Update. You can smash that subscribe button, thank
you in advance, and then set a preset for that,
and set a preset frankly for Star one on one
three because that'll be the easiest way for you to
win more variety. In the two thousands, the nineties and

(21:44):
today it's Star one on one three with Bruno Mars.
It's Tuesday morning. Speaking of your man's here are some
subtle signs. If your man is noble, check and why
does Corey love it? Because the Jeff is all of
those things? He's perfect. I did not say that. I mean,
I did not say that. Number One lady says he

(22:04):
opened doors for you. He does.

Speaker 2 (22:09):
He doesn't do it as much like car doors because
now everything's unlocks right itself.

Speaker 1 (22:15):
So but yeah, I used to, and then at some
point my wife just started getting annoyed. She's like, it
sticks along, get in the car, Just get in the car,
because some days he'll do it just randomly. But I
appreciate it. I think it's thoughtful.

Speaker 2 (22:27):
And I think it's even more thoughtful now that you
can unlock the door with your remote.

Speaker 1 (22:31):
Now this is one that I don't necessarily know plays
well in twenty twenty five sign Your man is Noble.
If he calls you instead of texting, it depends on
what it's about.

Speaker 2 (22:41):
I mean, if it's something you need to know quickly,
and it's just easier to call than text.

Speaker 1 (22:45):
I always like to check in with my wife as
I'm going home, but I can tell she's got a
busy day when she picks up the phone and she goes,
why didn't you just text me? Yeah?

Speaker 2 (22:54):
I felt bad when we lived apart, my husband and
I lived apart for that first year, because he would
call me and he could tell that I was like.

Speaker 1 (23:00):
I don't I don't like talking on the phone, and
I love you. I love talking on the I know
you call my wife all day. I know that's it.
Maybe I just annoy the crap out of her.

Speaker 2 (23:11):
I always answer when you call because I'm worried it's
an emergency.

Speaker 1 (23:15):
I don't ever call Corey just to chat. Your head
would spin off.

Speaker 7 (23:19):
I would hang up on you immediately, Like if you
called me and we're like, hey, what are you doing?

Speaker 1 (23:23):
Hey, what's up? So what's up? They would go like this, Hey,
what's up? And then you'd be like, what do you mean,
what's up? What's going on? What do you want? Then
I'd hang up. Subtle signs. Your man is noble. He
walks on the street side of the sidewalk. I do
I do that? Jeff does that for sure. He walks
you to your door.

Speaker 7 (23:43):
I mean it's our door. He's going there anyway, We're
both going there. But I am the guy that will
open the door for the family. Unless my daughter is faster.
She's sometimes she likes to work the door. Your man
sends good morning texts every I don't do that every day. Interesting,

(24:05):
this is an interesting one. Your man understands the etiquette
of leadership.

Speaker 1 (24:11):
I totally get that.

Speaker 2 (24:12):
And I remember when he got jury duty and he
immediately took over that jury Okay, it was like, we're
doing this, this is what we're doing.

Speaker 1 (24:20):
You know. It's he likes being in a position of leadership.
Your house dynamic is different than mine because I feel
like he does the whole this is what we're doing
at your house. For me, I'll be like, hey, here's
what I'm thinking. Are you into?

Speaker 2 (24:33):
It depends on what you're talking about, though, Like socially,
I'm the one getting the social activities okay, yeah, okay, yeah.

Speaker 1 (24:40):
For me, it's more like if somebody hits me up
and said let's hang out, I go, all right, Well,
either A, let me check with the missus or B,
why don't you contact her directly and just tell me
where to be and when?

Speaker 2 (24:51):
Oh, ask him if he wants to do something right,
you know, to make sure I don't plan something he
doesn't want to do.

Speaker 1 (24:57):
Uh. Your man is noble. If he puts his and
on the small of your back while introducing you to someone,
I like that. I do too. I think I do
do that subconsciously, I believe and this is me all day.
He takes time to plan a date. Yeah, oh, God, yeah, dude,
down to the last detail. It's I love that they
use the word noble because basically it's being a gentleman. Yes,

(25:18):
it's a lost art sometimes sometimes anyway, gut check fellas.
It's Star one, O one three, it's Marcus and Corey.
It's seven forty. Here we go. It's time for good
news with Marcus and Corey.

Speaker 6 (25:33):
Sometimes all you need is one a good thought to
make it a great day.

Speaker 1 (25:37):
So let's do this.

Speaker 6 (25:38):
It's good news on Star.

Speaker 1 (25:40):
One one three long, so we do good news twice
the morning. It's seven. This hour brought to you by
Shriven Company, Luxury time pieces, fine designers, flawless diamonds. Uh,
this is some good news for our country's healthcare. It
is always kind of jacked up. Yeah, but they just
open the nation's first free surgery center. Whoa, it's going

(26:04):
to be in Orange County. So this is in California,
but southern California. The goal to perform thirty free surgeries
a month. And this is for people with no insurance
or low income, like I said, uninsured patients. And I
think this and what's brilliant about it. It's not a
second hand facility. This has built brand new from the
ground up. How is this funded? Who knows? A private donation,

(26:26):
you know what I mean? I love it. Maybe some
government funding, not sure. It's called the uh Less Donac
Free Clinic out of Orange County and the goal is,
like I said, to do thirty three surgeries a month.
Up until now, this according to the director, up until now,
a person could only maybe go to the county hospital
or try to get their family to come up with

(26:48):
the two grand or the three grand in order to
be able to afford any kind of surgeries. They have
two fully equipped operating rooms, volunteer surgeons being able to
perform potentially life saving surgical procedures, for example, colonoscope's hernia repairs,
ice surgeries. There was one doctor who is an ophthalmologist,
and he said, you know, I got a hand up

(27:09):
when I was younger. I got help for me and
my family. Giving back to the community is so important.
He's planning to be there doing surgeries once a week
for free. That's so incredible. I mean, if you multiply
that by the number of surgeons who are going to
donate their time, it's pretty outstanding. I love it. It's a
wonderful idea. So again, this is called the Les Toneck

(27:30):
Free Clinic out of Orange County and it's the first
free surgery center in the nation. Fantastic.

Speaker 2 (27:36):
It can be very frustrating for people who who might
not have insurance or have insurance and the insurance won't
cover certain things.

Speaker 1 (27:43):
And I just love the idea of this. Oh dude,
I went through it when I was super young. There's
nothing like sitting in a waiting room with a concussion
waiting for your insurance to clear. Yeah, yeah, exactly. A
variety from the two thousands, the nineties, and today it's
Star one, O one three, It's Marcus and Corey and
it is time to play the bass face trivia games
called what you Know About That.

Speaker 2 (28:02):
You are gonna win a one hundred dollars Smart and
Final gift card. Smart and Final has all the ingredients
you need for the perfect long weekend cookout shop everything
from appetizers to ice cream at Smart and Final.

Speaker 1 (28:11):

Me Contest Number one. Christina's on the phone. Hello Christine,
what's going on this morning? Nat?

Speaker 8 (28:20):

get some work done.

first call ever from San Gregorio. I gotta be honest
with you. I don't know where that is. Nobody does.
How many people live in San Gregorio, Amber, your your guests, A.

Speaker 10 (28:40):
Couple of hundreds.

Speaker 8 (28:41):
Kind of blends into La Honda, so it's hard to
say you.

Speaker 1 (28:45):
Have to go because they have. I think it's called
the San Gregorio General Store. And then within the store,
basically next door is the post office, and that is
the heart of San Gregorio. Okay, there might be one
hundred people there ready welcome, Thank you. It's so cute
there by the way, Christine Walnut Creek also very cute.
Just FYI want to throw that out there. I want
to be inclusive. Game is super simple. It's five trivia questions,

(29:09):
fifty seconds to answer them all. Each person going to
be asked separately. Whoever gets the most right answers wins.
If you don't know an answer, yell out pass. We'll
come back to the question. If we have time left,
play along at home or in the car. Here we go,
Amber goes on Holden Sangregorio, and we pick up Christine
and walta Creek to start, all right? Question number one,

Speaker 1 (30:05):

holding Wanna Creek and we pick up Amber in my
beloved San Gregoria. Amber.

Speaker 3 (30:15):

Speaker 2 (30:15):
Question number one, what German car logo is made up
of four? Rings linked together? A member of the religious
Society of Friends is more commonly known as what.

Speaker 8 (30:31):
Quaker?

Speaker 2 (30:32):
What is the name of the girl and the children's
novel Are you there, God?

Speaker 1 (30:35):
It's me Blank?

Speaker 4 (30:38):
Margaret?

Speaker 2 (30:39):

it in the Hunger Games?

Speaker 1 (30:44):
What district is home to Catnus Everdeen?

Speaker 6 (30:48):
Well?

Speaker 1 (30:49):
Answer for everything, Okay, Christine comes back and Walnut Creek
see how she did against Amber and San Gregoria. Question
number one, what German car logo is made up? Before
rings linked together? Ristina and Amber said Audi. That is correct.
A member of the religious Society of Friends is more
commonly known as what Christine said member, Amber said quaker?

(31:09):
It is Quaker. How did you even know that? What
is the name of the girl and the children's novel?
