Speaker 1 (00:00):
Lady Gaga a star one on one three, it's trying
to pull Corey out of her. Well, it's not a funk,
but you're in this like weird space. This morning, I hit.

Speaker 2 (00:10):
Snooze and it was all downhill from there. I feel
just feel dumb today, and I don't know why, because nothing.
I didn't do anything crazy. I just feel stupid, all right.

Speaker 1 (00:21):
Had a good weekend though, because March madness.

Speaker 2 (00:24):
Are you kidding me?

Speaker 1 (00:26):
Corey's alma mater, the Florida Gators going to the Final.

Speaker 2 (00:29):
Four, Final four. It was very exciting on Saturday watching
that game because at one point we were ten points behind. Yeah,
and I was kind of just making peace with myself,
like no, good run, thanks exactly. I was like, alright, elite,
it's cool. It's at Chase Center, right, And then they
came back sick and it was delightful.

Speaker 1 (00:51):
Are these guys going to take the whole thing?

Speaker 2 (00:53):
I don't know, because Houston apparently there's some rumblings about Houston.

Speaker 1 (00:59):
Yes, Houston is a very good team.

Speaker 2 (01:01):
So we're headed to San Antonio.

Speaker 1 (01:03):
We'll cross our fingers. Yeah. I had a long weekend
and I came to an epiphany which We're going to
discuss here in a little bit that nobody can keep
up with me in my schedule.

Speaker 2 (01:15):
Because your schedule's nuts.

Speaker 1 (01:17):
My sister was in town for the weekend because we
did the coside comedy Luau at the IDs Hall in
Half Moon Bay. That was Saturday night. But Friday night,
I was like, let's go out and we met some
other friends and we had dinner and drinks and karaoke,
and I wrote her too hard. Oh she almost didn't
make it to the gig on Saturday.

Speaker 2 (01:36):
Oh, you gotta be nice.

Speaker 1 (01:39):
And then I thought, oh, that's right. Not everybody's paid
professional like I am.

Speaker 2 (01:44):
You commit to a lot.

Speaker 1 (01:46):
Anyway, we'll talk about this coming up at six point
forty because Corey has very similar stories of her friends
trying to keep up with her don't do it. So
we want to know, like, what side of the spectrum
are you on? Are you the person that can't keep
up or the person that people can't keep up with?
Where we at? I know, strange question. Oh yeah, that's
where our heads are this morning. Totally coming up. We

(02:07):
have lots more tickets, including outside Lands. Yes, so they
are on sale. We have those three day gas with
the trivia game. Just get ready with us. We appreciate you.
That's coming up at eight oh five. A variety from
the two thousands, the nineties, and today it's Star one
oh one three, it's Marcus and Corey. Monday morning. Doesn't
seem like a day goes by that you're not dropping
fifty bucks on something something. Here are things that frugal

(02:30):
people ditch in order to save money. I like all
of these number one concert tickets. I talk about it
all the time. That's why I love what we do,
because we give away a lot of stuff. But like
trying to take a family to a concert or a
sporting event, forget it, well, forget it, especially around here.

Speaker 2 (02:48):
I wanted to go see my Florida Gators play in
the basketball Championship, and I just can't justify the prices.

Speaker 1 (02:54):
Three hundred and fifty dollars a ticket just to get
in the building. Golden State Warriors cheaps two and twenty
bucks if you're lucky.

Speaker 2 (03:03):
And when you're sitting on the roof, you're not even
really in the arena. To be fair, Okay, ninety bucks, right,
But that used to be dude. We used to pit
back in the day at the arena. We'd pay twenty
five dollars to sit in the upper deck. That's great.

Speaker 1 (03:15):
And concerts, forget it, coldplay at Stanford because of the
secondary market, the scalpers. Yeah, three fifty a ticket minimum.
How do you do it? You win on Star one,
one three, That's that's what you do. Don't ever turn
this show off ever. Other stuff that frugal people dump
in order to save money, anything for convenience. Right here
they listed packaged food, seasoning, food delivery services. I would

(03:39):
throw in pre cut vegetables, pre cut fruits, things of
that nature. Look, if you can afford to pay for
convenience and you want convenience, they know Americans want convenience,
so here we are paying a premium.

Speaker 2 (03:52):
One of my favorite things on this list is dog toys.
I totally identify with that. We would they would swear
that a dog toy was undestroyable. Dogs never going to
be able to take this apart, and every single one
of them are to destroy.

Speaker 1 (04:04):
Your German Shepherd's like hold my beer.

Speaker 2 (04:06):
So yeah, we take old t shirts and old socks
and make tug of war toys and they're delighted.

Speaker 1 (04:12):
Other things people dump to save money, real Christmas trees.
I know you guys have the fake tree that you
pull out every year and it's gotta beat. That's got
to be a money saver, right it is.

Speaker 2 (04:21):
And I know that tree farmers get mad when we
talk about that.

Speaker 1 (04:24):
We really like the whole experience. I love the experience
of going to get the tree. I love the experience
of hanging out at the tree farm because they have
all kinds of ancillary stuff. But you can be pricey,
you know, yeah, and you can still.

Speaker 2 (04:36):
Go enjoy the trees without actually well, I don't want
to say that. The tree farmers will really get mad
at me. You go there and don't buy anything. Don't
do that, don't do that. One thing my husband does
that drives me crazy is bottled water because you know me,
I've got my reusable water jug everywhere I go.

Speaker 1 (04:53):
But he is a snub, I mean, besides what it
does to the environment.

Speaker 2 (04:57):
I know I did on him all the time.

Speaker 1 (05:00):
But again, convenience, you know, like, what can you do yourself?
I was in the grocery store the other day. They
had ahi tuna if you wanted it, just a chunk
of it. It was eighteen ninety nine. If you wanted
it already cut up, same size. It was twenty four
ninety nine.

Speaker 2 (05:16):
Oh boy, Yeah, And.

Speaker 1 (05:17):
The butcher looked at me. He's like, save a few bucks, dude,
get a knife and save a few bucks. No kidding,
that's gonna be my autobiography. Get a knife, save a
few bucks. What else?

Speaker 2 (05:27):
What else is done here? Seasonal decorps. I don't know
how I feel about that one, because it's like, well,
I want to get some pumpkins for Halloween. Yeah, I
want to put a wreath on my door.

Speaker 1 (05:37):
If you consider yourself a if you consider yourself a
frugal person, hit us with your best tip on how
to save money. I love that. Yeah, on the talk back,
that little red microphone. If you're streaming Star one on
one three right now, more variety from the two thousands
than nineties, and today it's Star one O one three.
Marcus and Corey Monday morning, Good morning, good morning. Had

(06:00):
another long weekend with lots of things packed in, and
I realized, I know, I overstuffed myself, and then I'm
thinking to myself. I was asking Corey, which one are
you in your friend group? Are you the one that
nobody can keep up with or the one that can't
keep up. Because the reason I ask is because my
sister came to visit to go to the comedy Luau

(06:20):
to support me. You know, the comedy show we did
on Saturday, which is great, and she almost didn't make
it because we went out on Friday and we went hard.

Speaker 2 (06:31):
Accidentally accidentally, you can say accidentally.

Speaker 1 (06:34):
Friday night, I said, we're going out and we're going
to karaoke at Cameron's. Yeah, and she was like, okay.
But it started with dinner. There's a great Italian restaurant
in Halfen Bay called Mezzaluna, and that starts with a cocktail,
and then then we moved on to some Italian wines. Okay.
And then we got an uber and we went to
Cameron's and then you start doing karaoke and one thing

(06:56):
leads to another, next thing. I know, get back in
the uber. We're going home and she's like, I'm going
to bed. She okay, she was fine, but then the
next day like she was she hungover. Probably she took
a nap and we had to leave for the gig
at four forty five, and all I got was his text.
She was downstairs in the in law and I get

(07:18):
this text. I'm gonna have to catch up with you later.
Oh I need more sleep.

Speaker 2 (07:23):
Oh you broke her.

Speaker 1 (07:25):
She comes into the gig and I'm like, oh, you
made it. She literally stayed for forty five minutes to
watch me auctioneer stuff, missed all of the comedy, went
back home and went back to bed.

Speaker 2 (07:34):
Oh you broke your sisteret.

Speaker 1 (07:35):
I need to I forget. I thought she was going
to be fine. She's ex military.

Speaker 2 (07:40):
Well, I mean, I have actually said to one of
my friends who is tiny. She's very petite, she's very thin.
I'm like, don't go drink for drink with me because
I have more heft than you do.

Speaker 1 (07:55):
That's a word, I guess.

Speaker 2 (07:57):
I mean, I don't know how to explain it because
it's like, I'm five eight and I'm a curvy gal.
She's tiny.

Speaker 1 (08:05):
What happens when she tries to keep up with you?

Speaker 2 (08:06):
She passes out at eight o'clock. I mean, the last
time I saw her, and I even said it, I'm like, don't,
don't And next thing you know, it's eight pm and
shesus sleep.

Speaker 1 (08:17):
And the thing for me is that not so much
that like I drink a ton or whatever, it's that
I just we're going out Friday, We're going out Saturday.
I was at a birthday party yesterday, Like I just,
I have to have something going on every day.

Speaker 2 (08:30):
You do, Because I will be honest with you, I
did not do anything this weekend, and it was delightful.
I watched a lot of body cam and that was
the best part of my weekend.

Speaker 1 (08:39):
The other thing people forget is that we are professional
disc jockeys, which means for me, for the last thirty
two years, not so much in this job, but previous
you know, we'd go to clubs and post clubs. Yeah,
and I'm I am a paid professional.

Speaker 2 (08:53):
I'm irish on both sides. I mean, what am I
supposed to do? Hello?

Speaker 1 (08:58):
And I told her, I was like, make sure you
drink some water. Took her out anyway, A poor pickle,
poor pickle? Which one are you? That's the question. That's
a very strange question for a Monday morning. But maybe
there are some unicorns out there. Yeah, I'm the one
nobody can keep up with. And it doesn't even have
to be drinking. Frankly, are you just the one that's
just go, go, go.

Speaker 3 (09:17):
Go go.

Speaker 2 (09:18):
Yeah, it's not even about drinking. It's about being out
and about and going to different events.

Speaker 1 (09:24):
Or are you the person that taps out early if
you're not careful. Yeah, that's the question. Very strange one,
I understand. But if you have a moment to do
with a talk back, if you've got a good story,
it's the little red microphone on the iHeartRadio app. If
you're streaming Star one on one three right now, this
is what I talk about.

Speaker 2 (09:41):
It's what's trending on Star, what's happening in entertainment news,
the biggest stories of the day.

Speaker 1 (09:47):
And everything people are talking about today in the Bay.

Speaker 2 (09:50):
The final four was announced this weekend and it's all
the number one seeds. So that's Auburn, Duke, Florida and Houston's.

Speaker 1 (10:00):
Don't bury the headline though Corey's alma mater, University of Florida,
is in the final four.

Speaker 2 (10:05):
Go Gators.

Speaker 1 (10:08):
She's wearing a Florida Gators shirt that hasn't been worshed
since November.

Speaker 2 (10:13):
Well, we can't wash it now. That's where the luck is.
So the Devils will face the Cougars, the Tigers take
on the Gators. That's in San Antonio, April fifth. There
you go, customers who stopped into Rise Donuts in Wilton,
Connecticut yesterday got a surprise. Blake Lively was behind the counter.
She's friends with the owner and decided to help her out.

(10:35):
In her Instagram story, she noted baking with genius food
friends in their kitchen mixer the size of a car.
This is what my happy place looks like. Lively has
mentioned her love of baking before.

Speaker 1 (10:46):
So is that what it is? She loves debaate, she.

Speaker 2 (10:47):
Loves to bay okay, and so her friend has the bakery. Yeah,
sounds like a match made in heaven. Ryan Kugler is
aiming high when casting his upcoming third Black Panther Moved.
His big name choice to appear in the film is
Denzel Washington. He says, I'm dying to work with Denzel
and I'm hoping we can make that happen. I got

(11:08):
every intention of working with him in that movie, and
as long as he's interested, it's going to happen. Now,
did you watch any of the Black Panther movies.

Speaker 1 (11:17):
I've seen the first one.

Speaker 2 (11:19):
You didn't see the second one.

Speaker 1 (11:20):
I've not seen the second one yet. Yeah, it's you know.

Speaker 2 (11:22):
The second one always makes me cry because it's a
tribute to the original black Panther. It passed away and
it was just it was it was nice, it was
it was just really sweet.

Speaker 1 (11:36):
Okay, so you're looking forward to a third Yes, you're
okay with me?

Speaker 2 (11:39):
Yeah, all right.

Speaker 1 (11:40):
I want to make sure, let's see it's National farm
Workers Day. So being from the Salinas Valley, I have
a very special place in my heart for the people
that do get fresh fruits and vegetables on our tables.
So many friends, their parents, it's what they did for work.
And I'm so glad that you know, we're able to
kind of reevaluate housing situations, access to needs, and access

(12:03):
to resources for these families that work so hard to
get us the food that we need. Today would be
the day to celebrate if you want. There are so
many organizations that help these families out from Alas on
the coast side to the California farm Worker Foundation, the
UfW Foundation, there's the Napa Valley farm Worker Foundation. Just

(12:23):
look for the one in your area. There are so
many and they always need your help. So today would
be the day to make sure that we shine a
spotlight for a National farm Workers Day. Zane Malik in
one Direction had to cancel his concert that was set
Friday night in Mexico City because of a severe bout
of food poisoning, which sucks because one of the reasons
you go in Mexico City is to eat. It's a

(12:45):
fantastic place to eat. Yeah, maybe he accidentally drank the water.
I only he says he's okay, So I'm sorry to
let you down. But he says he's okay, sending love
to each and every one of his fans there in
Mexico City. Locally, that center bike lane that ran on
Valencia Street is now being removed and replaced with a

(13:05):
curbside protected bike wave, just to get out of the
way of traffic a little more after it made traffic
and frankly parking kind of ridiculous in the area. I'm
bringing it up. It's a three to four month project,
but today through the fourth is going to be heavy paving.
They're in the Mission district along Valencia Street. Okay, just fyi.
Today is merch Monday, and we have merchandise from the

(13:28):
Snow White movie. We do came in from the movie company.

Speaker 2 (13:31):
It's pretty cool.

Speaker 1 (13:32):
All you have to do to win. Obviously, there's a
special snow white mirror. There's a really sweet look at
snow white jacket, a coffee mug, a bunch of other
really cool stuff. If you want to win, go to
the Star one on one three fm Instagram. You can
see all the information how you can score that if
you go to the Marcus at Corey Instagram. Our picks
from the weekend. Corey recovering after her gainers came back

(13:54):
from ten points down. Very stressful game.

Speaker 2 (13:57):
Oh I was just resigning myself, going, you know what,
we made it this far. Just be happy you made
it this far. And then they came back.

Speaker 1 (14:04):
It's a great pick of Corey and her She has
a bar in her garage. It's a tiki bar, and
you look stressed out, you do. And then on Saturday
night we had the co Said Comedy Luau, my annual fundraiser.
I want to thank my former partner Sandy Steck for
coming in and doing a set. We had a couple
of other great comedians. If you have a chance to
see Torio Van Grohl and Jalisa Robinson who both performed locally.

(14:25):
They were fantastic. Yeah, we raised a bunch of money.
We had a ton of Marcus and Corey listening family
come out. Thank you guys all so much for representing.

Speaker 3 (14:33):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (14:33):
There's a great picture of me with all three comedians.
It's on the Marcus and Corey Instagram. Please give it
a follow up, Jess. What's trending every weekday morning on
the fifties. That's a six fifty seven fifty eight fifty.

Speaker 2 (14:46):
AM and connect now with the Marcus and Corey socials
and blogs.

Speaker 1 (14:50):
That's at one on one three dot com. Well Variety
for the two thousands, the nineties, and today it's Star
one on one three. It's Marcus and Corey and it's
back you guys, I can date update and full effect.

Speaker 2 (15:01):
We want to get you a second date. You got
the first one locked down, but now you're having problems
getting a second one. That's where we step in and
try and help.

Speaker 1 (15:09):
Let's take good money to Dylan. Dylan is going to
change our fortunes, that's for sure. Dylan.

Speaker 3 (15:15):
Hey, hey, guys, what's up?

Speaker 1 (15:16):
What's that? What's happening? So let us let's talk about
how you met Savannah, this lady went on date with
and then and then let's talk about what you guys
did on your date.

Speaker 3 (15:26):
Okay, yeah, so we met on Hinge and yeah, I mean,
of course she's attractive, but I really what really sad
to me is her intelligence. Like I favor beauty is
one thing, and that's I like that, but intelligence like
really brings you up a few not sure in my book.

(15:47):
And so we chat and I think it's really hitting off,
like we're vibing. Everything is great. I thought it could
be something. So I invited her to coffee and Hayes
Valley and honestly, there wasn't a dull moment at all.
But now she's ghosting me, and I really don't know why.
I can't think of anything I did wrong that evening.

(16:08):
I just maybe she lost her phone or maybe she's busy.
I really don't know what's going on.

Speaker 1 (16:12):
Seriously, just gone not that this doesn't happen all the time.

Speaker 2 (16:16):
Hopefully she hasn't lost her phone, because then we can't
call her.

Speaker 1 (16:18):
Fair point, Let's do this. Let's play a song. Let's
call her and Dylan, you go ahead and mute your
phone and we'll give her a shout out for the song. Okay,
all right, I'll do that. Star one on one three,
it's Marcus and Corey. We're in the middle of a
second date update. We've been chatting with with Dylan. He
and Savannah met on hinge and you said, Dylan, the

(16:40):
date in person was pretty great, like you literally said,
you picked up where you left off.

Speaker 3 (16:44):
Yeah, it was awesome. It was even better in person
than in texting.

Speaker 1 (16:49):
Okay, well that's good. The bad news is she's ghosted,
so let's try to figure this out. That's not good.
Let's give her a shout mute for real this time,
and here we go.

Speaker 2 (17:06):
Hello, Hi, may speak with Savannah?

Speaker 1 (17:08):
Please?

Speaker 4 (17:09):
Yes, this is she.

Speaker 2 (17:10):
Hi Savannah, It's Marcus and Corey from Star one O
one three.

Speaker 3 (17:15):
Oh.

Speaker 4 (17:15):
Hi, a huge fan.

Speaker 2 (17:17):
How are you happened?

Speaker 1 (17:18):
Savannah? Good morning. It's bad when it's the opposite, which
is I'm sorry. Who are you?

Speaker 2 (17:23):
Who are you? We're doing our second date updates?

Speaker 1 (17:29):
Are you familiar with that? Yeah? Do you know about
second date update? Oh?

Speaker 4 (17:32):
I sure do?

Speaker 1 (17:35):
Awesome, this is simple.

Speaker 4 (17:38):
Yeah, so I'm gonna guess bea. You're asking about my
date with Dylan?

Speaker 2 (17:44):
Probably yeah, and Dylan. She knows the drills, so you
can go ahead and mute Dylan.

Speaker 1 (17:50):
You there still great?

Speaker 2 (17:54):
Oh?

Speaker 4 (17:54):
Hi?

Speaker 3 (17:55):
Ah?

Speaker 1 (17:55):
Okay, so uh, Savannah, we're all here. How did the
date go?

Speaker 4 (18:04):
I mean not great? Obviously, since I like ghosted him.

Speaker 1 (18:09):
Or whatever, I do want to call you out, but.

Speaker 4 (18:14):
I mean, yeah, I definitely did ghosting. It's a thing. Yeah,
I don't know, I just got out of a relationship,
but like I was ready to like jump back into
the dating pool. Sure, but since it's still like early
on dating, Like I thought we were just meeting for
like a quick coffee, you know, it's like a quick
like hi, how are you? And like, you know, if
that worked out, maybe we'd get a pastry or whatever,

(18:37):
or like plan a lunch or dinner, you know what
I'm saying. Sure, yeah, And like immediately Dylan like launched
into a rant about how terrible his his like life is,
like you know, he lost his job and then he
tried to rebrand as a comedian, which didn't work out.
Uh yeah, I guess it's probably because.

Speaker 1 (18:56):
He prosed Dylan, are you a comedian?

Speaker 2 (18:59):
No?

Speaker 3 (18:59):
Yeah, I'm at least I'm working on it. You listen
to my whole tight five about how our insurance is
a scam. I heard you laughing, Uh huh.

Speaker 4 (19:08):
I think that's rebranding is the wrong direction. But like
you know, let's move on from that. And then, like
you know, he continued his ramps and he had recently
broken his leg and it was infected and he wanted
to show me the infected leg.

Speaker 1 (19:22):
God, what happened?

Speaker 4 (19:23):
You're on an excuse and get out of there.

Speaker 3 (19:25):
Yeah, yeah, but we were. I felt like we were
so close to already, like through our on Hinge, like
we discussed a bunch of stuff. So I just thought
I could be like open with you.

Speaker 4 (19:38):
I mean, I don't think we were that open on Hinge,
and this is a first day. Like maybe down the
line you can tell me all your problems, but like
I'm not your therapist and I'm not your mom, so
like I don't need to hear that over coffee.

Speaker 3 (19:50):
You know, I can believe you're being so just mental
about this.

Speaker 1 (19:54):
Okay, that doesn't really sound like a match right now.

Speaker 2 (19:59):
I hope you like it's.

Speaker 3 (20:00):
Better, yeah, of course, but yeah, it was too much,
too soon.

Speaker 4 (20:06):
I also hope your legs healed. But I gotta go.

Speaker 1 (20:11):
That was a lot for a first date.

Speaker 2 (20:13):
You gotta kind of meet out what you share.

Speaker 3 (20:16):
All right.

Speaker 1 (20:17):
Second date update seven oh five weekday Mornings Your replace
It nine oh five and you know it's got a podcast.
It's Marcus and Corey's Second Date Update. Set a preset
on the iHeartRadio app. You can do that now makes
it super simple to binge listen. Star one on one three,
it's Marcus and Corey. It's Monday morning. Good morning, are
you hipper?

Speaker 2 (20:33):
Now that you say, oh r, that's.

Speaker 1 (20:36):
What we call her at my house. Okay, I learned
that one from my daughter, ol Olivia Rodrigo Livy. If
you will oh all the names, Yeah, you do, and
yes she does make me cooler. Okay, I think Star
one on one three thought this was cute. Gen Z
sharing the things they love about older generations. Stuff they

(20:56):
wish they could do more of. Okay, things they like
to do. I love most of these. One of them
actually made me sad. Oh no, I don't want to
lead with that one. I want to lead with the
cute ones.

Speaker 4 (21:07):
Okay.

Speaker 1 (21:08):
Gen Z loves the family and friends meal gatherings. I
guess the younger gens don't really do that as much
as we used to do, and that we do.

Speaker 2 (21:16):
Like a Sunday, all the family gets together and has dinner.

Speaker 1 (21:19):
Maybe that or just like I mean, my mom was
really big on every night we are at the dinner
table eating together. It's what we're doing. Oh, you know
what I mean.

Speaker 2 (21:27):
We didn't do that. No, No, my sister and I
would eat dinner before because my dad would work till
like seven. Oh okay, But on the weekends we would
usually do something on Sunday.

Speaker 1 (21:39):
And my sister was saying this, she and her family
only eat together like once a week because all the
kids have different activities. Yeah, so that's a thing.

Speaker 2 (21:45):
Too, different schedules.

Speaker 1 (21:47):
Here's another one. I love a good pair of hy
two K cargo pants. I don't know why I thought
that was so cute.

Speaker 2 (21:53):
Why two K carle pants.

Speaker 1 (21:55):
From like the two thousand from you know? Why two K?

Speaker 2 (21:58):
Yeah? No, I I understand the reference.

Speaker 1 (22:01):
Og cargo pants. Okay, I'm twenty five years old. I
love listening to Vinyl more than streaming it. I think
it sounds so much better.

Speaker 2 (22:09):
There is something very unique about listening to.

Speaker 1 (22:12):
An album a record player, if you will. Yeah, sodaes
in glass bottles taste better than sodas in plastic bottles.
I don't know. This is just cute.

Speaker 2 (22:21):
It's interesting because I was just thinking about this the
other day. If you get a soda from the fountain,
like the soda fountain as opposed to like in a
can or in a bottle.

Speaker 1 (22:32):
It tastes different. I was just gonna ask you, does
it taste better?

Speaker 3 (22:35):
Like?

Speaker 1 (22:35):
Where do you rank them? To me? It goes can
fountain bottle, plastic bottle at the bottom.

Speaker 2 (22:42):
Oh really, I don't mind the plastic bottles.

Speaker 1 (22:45):
Not my favorite though, Can's my favorite.

Speaker 2 (22:48):
Can's good.

Speaker 1 (22:48):
This is a strange conversation.

Speaker 2 (22:50):
Weird conversation. What else is on here?

Speaker 1 (22:55):
Again? Corey and I are sharing gen Z's things they
love about older generations. Actually walking down the street without
looking at your phone.

Speaker 2 (23:04):
I think that's amazing, brilliant. I don't look at my
phone when I'm walking and can't.

Speaker 1 (23:09):
I have a condition.

Speaker 2 (23:13):
I literally will say to somebody if they're on their phone,
they're about to bump into me because they're not looking.

Speaker 1 (23:19):
I will be like, look up. I can't believe people
do that. They get so close to you and they're
just dude, are you here? Are you here? Are you
up here?

Speaker 2 (23:27):
Because I'm about to run into you. I can't stand it.
I'm about ready to closeline you. Here's one just gonna
put my arm out and take you down. Here's one
that's going to speed up your anxiety. Corey, Oh good.

Speaker 1 (23:39):
I love just stopping by a friend or family member's
house without notice. Hey, I was in the neighborhood. I
had an hour to kill before my doctor's appointment. I
thought I'd just pop in and visit. How you doing?

Speaker 2 (23:50):
Uh uh, I'm not answering the door. I'm lying on
the floor.

Speaker 1 (23:54):
And then they went on to say, now people do
get weird about it, and sometimes they panic, like, oh
my god, where do you doing here? My friend I'm
a popping guy for showing.

Speaker 2 (24:04):
My friend Kim praying to me. One day, She's like, hey,
I'm outside, and I'm like what what?

Speaker 1 (24:10):
She wasn't And now the one that made me sad
this gen Z wrote, I wish people danced more in
the olden days. She probably means two thousand and six. Jeez,
people danced a lot more. I feel like I love
to dance, and I think people are too scared to
dance now because they're afraid they will get recorded.

Speaker 2 (24:30):
And she's not wrong, She's not wrong.

Speaker 1 (24:32):
I just don't care. I'm old enough not to care.

Speaker 2 (24:34):
I don't care, you know what I mean?

Speaker 1 (24:36):
But think about when you were in your twenties or
your teens, right, But.

Speaker 2 (24:40):
Sure I was insecure about everything. But I say I
got the moves like Jagger.

Speaker 1 (24:45):
I mean yeah, and she's humble too. You guys, I'm
just thankful, thankful that camera phones and recording wasn't around
back in the nineties. You know what I mean.

Speaker 2 (24:57):
I mean, if you want to record some sweet your
rabbit moves, yeah, I'm down.

Speaker 1 (25:02):
I was gonna say it, noy you want to throw
a camera on me? Now, I say, enjoy the show. Ah,
You're welcome. You're welcome in advance for what you're about
to witness.

Speaker 3 (25:14):
This.

Speaker 1 (25:14):
So this is the assignment. What are some things if
you're a younger generation, the stuff you love about the
OG generations, things that we get to do that maybe
you maybe you have adapted right. Maybe it's an analog
deal used to talk back on the iHeartRadio app. If
you don't mind, if you're streaming Star one one three
right now, would love to hear from you. It's time
for good news with Marcus and Corey.

Speaker 2 (25:39):
Sometimes all you need is one a good thought to
make it a great day. So let's do this. It's
good news on Star.

Speaker 1 (25:46):
One one, three, give it any good news twice a morning. Seven.
Just trying to remind you that there is good in
the world. Yeah, maybe put a smiling face put you
off on the right foot. This is the story of
a customer who met a server at a restaurant trying
to help her retire, started to GoFundMe that's now brought

(26:06):
in over three hundred thousand dollars.

Speaker 2 (26:08):
This woman, this eighty one year old waitress named Betty,
has worked at this restaurant, Eaton Park in Pennsylvania for
over thirty years, and she couldn't retire because her social
Security didn't cover her expenses.

Speaker 1 (26:23):
Right, So in come Tammy and her son Leoeah, who
just fell in love with Betty, and Tammy was like,
I want to help her out. I want to make
it so she can retire and travel and do the things.
And so she left a generous tip herself and then
she put her story and it went viral on TikTok. Yes,
and now they've raised I checked, it's three hundred and

(26:44):
seventeen thousand dollars.

Speaker 2 (26:46):
That's amazing.

Speaker 1 (26:46):
She says that Betty gave her and her son a
memorable piece of advice. She said enjoy your life. It
goes too fast.

Speaker 2 (26:52):
Yeah, that's the truth.

Speaker 1 (26:54):
And just the kindness of total strangers I think is
pretty great.

Speaker 2 (26:58):
I love this, I love everything out this.

Speaker 1 (27:01):
