Speaker 1 (00:00):
Variety from the two thousands, the nineties, and today it's
Star one on one three Marcus and Corey five point
fifty seven. Good morning, Hi, it's Friday.
Speaker 2 (00:07):
It is Friday. It's the good news Free Fridays.
Speaker 1 (00:11):
It is free Friday. So we're gonna help you get
some animals adopted, or you're gonna help us get an
animals adopted. Yes, Marine Humane today. We will have them
up on the Marcus and Corey Instagram so you can
see the pictures and get adoption information. But let's help
clear out the shelters. I know, Corey, you're having a
rough morning this morning.
Speaker 2 (00:27):
It's it's gonna be a day.
Speaker 1 (00:29):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (00:29):
And my husband and I have to do something this
afternoon that really really sucks but is necessary.
Speaker 1 (00:37):
Yeah, and can we talk about what it is.
Speaker 2 (00:42):
We were putting one of our dogs down.
Speaker 1 (00:45):
Yeah, it's a tough one. And anybody who's had a
pet that they have had to put down and you
have to do it ahead of time, you have to plan.
That's the tough part.
Speaker 2 (00:55):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (00:55):
It really hurt my heart last night when my husband
said I just gave Loki his last meal.
Speaker 2 (01:01):
Yeah, it was a good one though. Yeah, I'll tell
you what.
Speaker 3 (01:03):
There was some homemade beef drinking in there and it
was all soft.
Speaker 2 (01:08):
There was no hard, you know, kibble in there.
Speaker 1 (01:11):
It was all good. The guy's going out strong. Yeah,
say you know what, Loki, he's a German shepherd. He's
very majestic. He's been around for a while and he's
just having a lot of physical issues.
Speaker 2 (01:22):
He can't get up.
Speaker 1 (01:23):
Yeah, and so it's time and so just send Cory
some vibes if you get a chance.
Speaker 2 (01:29):
I got a lot of nice vibes on my diary yesterday.
That was very nice.
Speaker 3 (01:32):
I put my diary on the Star Instagram, our Instagram,
my Instagram, and the comments were just really incredible.
Speaker 1 (01:38):
You want to check it out. It's right there. Uh.
I went to Morgan Hill yesterday for a graduation. How
was that?
Speaker 2 (01:44):
This is your nephew.
Speaker 1 (01:46):
Yeah, my nephew's eighth grade graduation. And then he wanted Chipotle,
so we did Chipotle catering.
Speaker 2 (01:50):
I love it. I've done. I did that for one
of Jeff's birthday.
Speaker 1 (01:53):
Yeah, it's so great. It's so good. But beforehand, when
I go to San Jose, I love to get Mexican food.
So I went to the East side of San Jose,
King and King and Story Road if you know, you know,
there's a there's a grocery store there, there's like a
shopping center, and so I get out because I wanted
to go to El poyl Loco. It is another place
that I love.
Speaker 2 (02:12):
Is that a chain?
Speaker 1 (02:14):
It's a you know, it's a I think it's a
Bay Area chain. They have like I don't know five locations,
but I love them.
Speaker 2 (02:19):
Okay, I always wanted to try them.
Speaker 1 (02:21):
They're so good. But I get to the parking lot
and then I'm not going to the El poyle Loco
anymore because there are two people selling tacos out of
out of coolers in the parking lot.
Speaker 2 (02:33):
You're like, where can I go?
Speaker 1 (02:35):
Tacos de canasta? I've never heard of what's that? Basically
taco's out of a basket, so they're traditionally sold.
Speaker 2 (02:42):
You know, Are they like street taco?
Speaker 1 (02:43):
Yeah, there's street tacos. A guy doing tacos at canasta
and then another lady doing another form of taco I
didn't know, called tacos usavos.
Speaker 2 (02:53):
What's that?
Speaker 1 (02:54):
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (02:56):
You're supposed to be educate me about this.
Speaker 1 (02:57):
And then when I thought I was going there. I
saw this thing taco South Catton Bone, which is basically
grilled over mesquite, and they were grilliant right basically out
on the sidewalk. So I went there, Okay, for ten bucks,
I got a chicken taco plate and boy was it good.
Speaker 2 (03:14):
That sounds amazing. I'm very hungry right now.
Speaker 1 (03:17):
I don't get to the east side of Sama's eighty
eat enough times.
Speaker 2 (03:20):
But anyway, so everybody's eating Chipotle, you're just on your own.
Speaker 1 (03:24):
Basically had Chipotle too, because I told my wife, she goes,
that's great, but we're having Chipotle for dinner, Like I
don't care. Because when you're Mexican, you can do that
every meal.
Speaker 2 (03:32):
My husband's not even Mexican, and he could do Mexican
for every night.
Speaker 1 (03:35):
All I'm saying anyway, all right, it's six o'clock, it's
time to roll more chances for you to get the
cash Creak Casino Resort and we're basically taking care of everything.
Would it get you hooked up for that? And then
Benson Boon tickets today at eight oh five with the
trivia game Stay with us. It's Star one O one three.
Marcus and Corey Friday tough day for Corey.
Speaker 3 (03:54):
You know, I hate talking about stuff like this on
a Friday. It just happens to be. We strategically plan
to do this because I'm gonna need a couple of
days sure, because I'm going to have a crying hangover
because I'm not a very attractive crier.
Speaker 2 (04:05):
I've already got my waterproof eyeliner on.
Speaker 1 (04:08):
So Loki is Corey's on hundred pound German shepherd and.
Speaker 2 (04:12):
He's over twelve and he can't get up anymore.
Speaker 1 (04:17):
You got to put him down today.
Speaker 3 (04:18):
And we think there's a little bit of dementia happening.
It's just we can tell he's in pain and we're
drugging him ob And so we made an appointment at
two today and someone's coming to the house and because
he's so big, we had to make sure that they
knew it has to be a two person job, right.
And it was so hard last night because Jeff was
(04:38):
making dinner for all the kids because we have three,
and he comes out of the kitchen and he's a
little teary eyed and he says, that was Loki's last meal. Yeah,
And you know, we don't have kids, so we treat
these dogs like they have amazing lives.
Speaker 2 (04:53):
I mean, I mean, Loki's been across the United States.
We got him in Houston.
Speaker 3 (04:58):
We got him because we had break in and after
the break in at three in the morning, I'd wake
up every night and Jeff's doing perimeter checks because he
had to fight off an intruder.
Speaker 1 (05:07):
With a golf club, nothing but a pair of ugs.
Speaker 2 (05:11):
You just love that, don't you. So he couldn't sleep
at night.
Speaker 3 (05:15):
Even though we went to a gun class and got
some guns, we still didn't feel really safe. And so
we found this man who had German shepherds and he
didn't want Loki because Loki was too big.
Speaker 1 (05:25):
Must have had massive pause.
Speaker 2 (05:27):
He still does. And so we got Loki and we
brought him home.
Speaker 1 (05:31):
How old was he when you brought him home?
Speaker 2 (05:34):
Four months?
Speaker 3 (05:35):
And my husband and Loki were peas in the pod.
My husband slept like a baby at night.
Speaker 1 (05:39):
Their a team.
Speaker 3 (05:40):
He protected him at an ATM. One time, Jeff was
getting money at an ATM.
Speaker 1 (05:44):
I love this story, by the way, and Loki.
Speaker 2 (05:47):
Was sitting there behind him and Jeff really wasn't paying attention.
Speaker 3 (05:50):
It was like, you know, the middle of the day,
and these two guys were gonna rob Jeff and all
of a sudden hears this commotion. He turns around and
Loki's got a guy on the ground like a police do.
Speaker 1 (06:00):
Yeah, and just like.
Speaker 2 (06:02):
What just happened.
Speaker 3 (06:03):
And the best was the Marines were across the street
for Toys for Tots event and they're all.
Speaker 1 (06:07):
Like, way to go Loki to get metled that day?
Speaker 2 (06:10):
Yeah, pretty much.
Speaker 1 (06:11):
They are a ceremony.
Speaker 2 (06:12):
He should have. He's just been amazing.
Speaker 1 (06:16):
So Corey has to help her oldest dog cross the
Rainbow bridge today.
Speaker 2 (06:21):
God, that term gets me every time.
Speaker 1 (06:22):
I know, you know, if you have fur babies at home,
you understand Loki's got to go down today, and you
know You've got to prep forward and you got to
bring somebody to the house. We're honoring him and remembering
him and helping our friend Corey get through.
Speaker 3 (06:35):
My biggest question, honestly a where we should do it
in the house and be if we should let the
other dogs watch, because if we put them somewhere and
shut the door, they're going to lose their minds. Somebody
commented on my diary because I was talking about and
they said, you know, it'll be good for them to
see this and I'd love to know should we let
the other dogs watch or should we separate them from that?
Speaker 2 (06:56):
Or well that leave them wondering where did Loki go.
Speaker 1 (06:58):
Thank you to everybody from our listening family who did
check in and send Corey vibes on her diary. She
shared this in her diary yesterday and then yes, someone
did comment something that I thought was very interesting. They said,
let them be there because animals understand death, they don't
understand abandonments.
Speaker 2 (07:14):
Okay, so that's that was my question, because.
Speaker 1 (07:19):
It's okay, take a minute.
Speaker 3 (07:20):
This My middle dog, Stuart Loki have been together for
ever since we brought Stuart home.
Speaker 1 (07:25):
Yeah, so it just sucks. And then you know, I'm
gonna I want to say, like, you're doing the right thing.
I've been there as well. It's not an easy decision
to make.
Speaker 2 (07:36):
But we know he's in vain. Yeah, and I hate
and he can't get up.
Speaker 1 (07:40):
I think you're doing him a service. I think you're
doing him a favor. I think he's had the best life.
I mean, the last meal last night was basically what
beef jerky and pop tarts.
Speaker 3 (07:50):
Just soft, expensive food and you know, later on some
homemade beef jerky.
Speaker 1 (07:55):
M So yeah, send Cory some vibes today. Do it
on her diary, don't mind. It's on the Marcus and
Corey Instagram right now. Talk about please, yes, please, it's
the little red microphone on the iHeartRadio app. We want
to hear from everybody today. I know you've been through it. Okay,
I'll be back at Star one on one three. A
righty from the two thousands, the nineties, and today it's
Star one on one three. It's Marcus and Corey. Time
(08:17):
for an end of the week gut check, Happy Friday
gut check. Yes, dentists are warning that these quote healthy
habits can actually ruin your teeth and they're legit. Oh no,
I am currently committing one of these sins, and Corey,
you've got two on this list. Might yeh because I
just know Okay, now, this might be an anomaly because
I understand from your dentists that your teeth are perfect.
Speaker 2 (08:39):
I wouldn't say perfect, but I do have good dental habits.
Speaker 1 (08:42):
What was the things she said to you last time
you had your check up? You don't give me enough
work to do, okay, So something you don't want to
be doing, or you have to be mindful or be careful.
Number one, sipping lemon water all day.
Speaker 2 (08:54):
I don't do that.
Speaker 1 (08:54):
It's great for detoxing, but all that ass is terrible
for your teeth.
Speaker 2 (08:58):
Yeah, for your enamel.
Speaker 1 (09:00):
I dated a girl who used to love to suck
on lemons. Wrecked your teeth.
Speaker 2 (09:03):
Oh no, that is such a weird habit.
Speaker 1 (09:06):
Yeah. I had a buddy used to like to drink
vinegar when we were kids.
Speaker 3 (09:10):
I would do apple cider vinegar, but I would dilute
it in a glass of water.
Speaker 1 (09:15):
Another one that I didn't see cumming was drinking green smoothies.
Bad for your teeth. Why without a little calcium added
in the Oxlates in raw spinach can actually pull minerals
from your teeth. And in my mind, I thought spinach
had calcium in it, But maybe it's protein I'm thinking of.
Speaker 3 (09:32):
I'm kind of glad because I don't do the green juices,
and I always feel guilty that I'm not making an
effort to that, And now I have a pass.
Speaker 1 (09:39):
You know what you do? Do? They do recommend that
you don't drink sports drinks. I don't know. You love
your Gatorade?
Speaker 2 (09:45):
Why do they not like sports drinks because.
Speaker 1 (09:47):
They have a low pH and I checked the pH
and Gatorade is about a two point nine.
Speaker 2 (09:52):
Even if it's sugar freeze.
Speaker 1 (09:54):
I don't think the sugar has any It's the acid. Oh,
the acid on the teeth.
Speaker 2 (09:58):
Okay, I drink it a lot.
Speaker 1 (10:01):
The other potential misstep you're gonna feel seen bad for
your teeth to graze on goldfish crackers. Why they are
starch bombs. They break down into simple sugars and then
coat your teeth.
Speaker 3 (10:12):
It just can I have anything? Let me guess you
canna hear me with something about chardonay? No, the next
one's mine, although I'll tell you what, dude. Other two
things that are terrible for your teeth that I do
all the time red wine and coffee.
Speaker 1 (10:26):
I can't give up my coffee. I can't, No, I know,
all right. So the other thing I'm guilty of this
is snacking on dried fruit. That is really bad for
your teeth.
Speaker 2 (10:34):
Be dry fruit.
Speaker 1 (10:35):
Yes, when the fruit is dried, it concentrates the sugars.
That's an easy one, okay, So you gotta be careful.
It says they're quote unquote worse than a Snickers bar
when it comes to cavity risk.
Speaker 2 (10:45):
Okay, so I should just go for the Snickers bar.
Speaker 1 (10:47):
Yes, that's that's what I took from that too. Okay,
So no green drinks, no fruit, no lemon water, no
goldfish crackers, and no sports drinks.
Speaker 3 (10:59):
One thing I'm very mindful of is I read when
it comes to coffee, tea or like a cranberry juice
or anything that has a dark color to it. If
you brush your teeth, you want to wait at least
thirty minutes before drinking that because.
Speaker 1 (11:12):
It's easier to take bush it right into your teeth.
So rense your mouth, wait thirty minutes. Listen us we're experts.
Speaker 2 (11:18):
I know.
Speaker 3 (11:19):
I basically have my dentist degree.
Speaker 1 (11:23):
This is what I'm.
Speaker 4 (11:25):
Talking about is what's trendean on Star on, what's happening
in entertainment news, the biggest stories of the day, and
everything people are talking about today in the Bay.
Speaker 3 (11:35):
You are a James Bond fan, You're gonna want to
check out this auction. With Heritage Auctions, they're going to
be doing all kinds of devil O seven memorabilia spanning characters,
entire history, both literary and cinematic. You're going to get
everything from signed to merchandise to posters, rare props from
every Bond era. So this means movies with Sean Connery,
(11:56):
George Lasmbie, Roger Moore, Timothy Dalton, Pierce Brosident and Daniel Craig.
Speaker 2 (12:00):
This auction starts on June thirteenth.
Speaker 1 (12:03):
Do you have a favorite James Bond Well, I.
Speaker 3 (12:07):
Grew up with Roger Moore, but Sean Connery is the og.
Timothy Dalton kind of got just robbed of that whole
franchise because when they brought in Timothy Dalton, it was
because Pierce Brosnen was supposed to be Bond but they
renewed his Remington Steel contract.
Speaker 1 (12:24):
I didn't want to go into a podcast per se Well.
Speaker 3 (12:27):
I just find it interesting because Timothy Dalton only made
two movies because then they got Pierce Brosen and finally,
I love, love, love, love love Daniel Craig.
Speaker 1 (12:34):
So for me, it's Sean Connery, Daniel Craig, Pierce Brosnan
in that order.
Speaker 2 (12:39):
I'm not a big Pierce Brosen fan. I wasn't a
fan of that era.
Speaker 1 (12:42):
I'm not a Roger Moore fan at all. Anyway, Please
continue show.
Speaker 2 (12:45):
Okay, okay.
Speaker 3 (12:45):
So last night was the last episode of Welcome to Wrexham,
and that is the soccer team that Ryan Reynolds co
owns and they're doing a reality show about it. So
he brought out his friend Channing Tatum to meet the
team and watch the match.
Speaker 2 (12:58):
And one of the.
Speaker 3 (12:59):
Players, the midfield, Elliott Lee, it was his thirtieth birthday,
so after the game, the team went out to celebrate
with Channing Tatum. Now, Ryan Reynolds went back to the States,
but Tatum parted with the guys, and apparently it was
so crazy that Reynolds started reading off some of the
texts he got from Tatum. Oops, I might have had
too much fun with the boys. Boy, we definitely got
more loose than I was ever playing to. It happened,
(13:20):
and I'm sorry. It's definitely gonna be on the internet.
Speaker 2 (13:22):
Oi, Oi, Oi, I think that's hilarious. Hopefully the cameras
were following them.
Speaker 3 (13:30):
Sidney Sweeney, the actress, she's just gorgeous. She's teamed up
with Doctor Squatch to release a limited edition soap. It's
called Bathwater Bliss and.
Speaker 1 (13:39):
It's so awkward, it really is.
Speaker 3 (13:41):
I don't there's something that when every time I say
doctor Squatch, I want to wash my mouth out.
Speaker 2 (13:45):
It's there's something about those words together don't work for me. AnyWho.
They are making a soap with Sidney Sweeney.
Speaker 3 (13:51):
It's going to be exfoliating sand, pine bark extract and
a splash of water from her bath. Sure it's her
bathwater that she bathed it, she says. Fans have been
asking for it, and so she teamed up with doctor Squatch.
There's got only going to be five thousand bars made.
They're launching June sixth, and I think you're either gonna
want all of them or none of them.
Speaker 1 (14:12):
They're gonna sell out in five seconds.
Speaker 2 (14:14):
Oh totally.
Speaker 1 (14:14):
Heat wave today and tomorrow in the Bay hides in
the hundreds and then noticeably cooler starting on Sunday. That's
that's your weather report. Okay, join me tomorrow in San Jose.
I will be out at PayPal Park for the March
of Dimes Walk, the Walk for Babies, starting at well,
i'll be there at seven, but like I think, everything
starts off at eight thirty. So if you're marching tomorrow,
(14:37):
I will absolutely see you there. Let's raise some money
for March of Dimes. Speaking of the South Bay. There
is a Greek festival going on in San Jose this weekend.
There's so much going on this weekend it's almost too much.
Samonteo County Fairs kicking off starting today in San Francisco,
the Union Street Festival, and they're bringing back Fest today
Italiana and North Beach as well.
Speaker 2 (14:54):
That looks fun.
Speaker 1 (14:55):
If you're up in the North Bay. In Sonoma, the county.
Sonoma County Pride is going down this week akend too,
because Pride Month kicks off. I believe on Sunday. Yep,
I'm not mistaken.
Speaker 2 (15:04):
Yep.
Speaker 1 (15:06):
On the Marcus at Corey Instagram you can get all
the information on furry Fridays. We're clearing out or helping
to clear out Marine Humane. Please go adopt it for
a baby. Yes, you know, I know, we've been talking
about it all morning. Corey has to put one of
her babies down today, Loki, her one hundred pound German shepherd.
Speaker 2 (15:21):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (15:22):
So if you're thinking about doing an adoption, do it
for Loki. Oh, thank you, you know, do it for Corey.
She needs some vibes today for sure. And we want
to thank our sponsor pet Food Express for always representing
always listening to the show. We love you guys for

It goes till two.
Speaker 1 (15:51):

family fun again. This is the Little Marina Green in
San Francisco, this coming Saturday, ten to two. I'm represent
for pet Food Express.
Speaker 2 (16:01):

Speaker 1 (16:02):
That's what's up? Guess what's l catch?
Speaker 4 (16:04):
What's trending every weekday morning.
Speaker 1 (16:06):
On the fifties. That's six fifty seven, fifty eight, fifty am.
Speaker 4 (16:10):
In connection now with Marcus and Corey everywhere at Star

That's why it's called Second Date Update. What is happening
where you're not getting your responses or texts.
Speaker 1 (16:42):
Let's bring on our friend Lindsay. Lindsey, good morning, Hi guys.
Speaker 5 (16:46):
Hi.
Speaker 1 (16:47):
First of all, thanks for listening every morning. Super appreciate it.
Speaker 6 (16:50):
And thank you for having me.
Speaker 1 (16:52):
Yeah, welcome. Let's talk about Tobias. So how did you
guys meet? And then like, what did you do on
the first date?
Speaker 7 (16:57):
Oh?
Speaker 8 (16:57):
I met Tobias on him and we'd been talking for
a few weeks, and he actually took me to like
a really nice restaurant, which I thought was really nice
because you know a lot of the time these first
dates are like a coffee thing, let's just grab drinks.
So I was you know, I was very impressed. I
thought he was quite the gentleman to take me to
(17:18):
such a nice place.
Speaker 6 (17:20):
Yeah, dinner went well.
Speaker 8 (17:23):
I honestly had butterflies. It was so great. You know,
we had fun, he drove me home. We even had
a little kiss. So, yeah, he's not texting and back.
I don't get it.
Speaker 2 (17:35):
So nice date, Okay, Yeah, any thoughts.
Speaker 3 (17:40):
Yeah, I was thinking maybe Tobias got detention for having
a gun in his locker, but it's not that serious.
Speaker 1 (17:45):
It's a flair gun oh breakfast club subplot there it
is too much pressure scholassically.
Speaker 6 (17:52):
Yes, I don't think he goes to school.
Speaker 2 (17:55):
Well there's that.
Speaker 1 (17:57):
I'll tell you what. Let's call him. Let's call him, yeah,
and let's try to figure it out. It sounds awesome,
so can.
Speaker 2 (18:03):
You hear them all?
Speaker 1 (18:06):
All right, we'll call him right after this Second Date
update Star one on one three. It's Marcus and Corey
and we're doing second Date update. We've been chatting with
Lindsay about her date with Tobias. They went to a
nice dinner after a meeting on Hinge. And the part
that's puzzling to me, Lindsay, if I could pull you
off mute for a second, is that you guys actually
kissed at the end of the date and then he ghosted.
Speaker 2 (18:28):
Yeah, that's weird.
Speaker 1 (18:29):
Let's call him and try to figure some things out.
Go ahead and go back on mute. We're gonna give
him a shout right now, Okay, got it?
Speaker 3 (18:41):
Hello, I mean to speak with Tobias. Please, uh, Tobias.
This is Marcus and Corey from Star one on one three.
Speaker 1 (18:51):
Hello, Okay, we do a radio show here in San Francisco.
I don't know if you're familiar. It's on one O,
one three star. It's with iHeartRadio. We are on the
air right now wondering if you might come on the
air with us. We're doing a dating segment and we
got floated your phone number by a friend of ours
and wondering if you're willing to discuss your date with
(19:11):
a woman you took out recently named Lindsey. Do you
have a moment, Oh.
Speaker 5 (19:16):
My god, this is like for a podcast or I'm
on the radio or.
Speaker 2 (19:19):
Yeah, yes, if you if you're okay with.
Speaker 1 (19:22):
That, to be fair, it'll be on demand later on
a podcast.
Speaker 5 (19:25):
Okay, you got time before, but I guess so, thank you.
What's uh? What about the the date?
Speaker 1 (19:35):
So we wanted to just grab your thoughts on your
date with Lindsay. So she said she had a great time,
she was impressed with the restaurant, impressed with you. Got
a little kiss, that's what she said. You kind of
made out at the end, and now you've ghosted. So
we're wondering did you ghost and if so, why as
a learning experience? Why?
Speaker 5 (19:54):
I mean, I wouldn't consider it ghosting, but you know
I haven't reached back out to her. Okay, but you know,
things happen, and I don't know what to tell you.
Speaker 1 (20:03):
Are you just been busy then, or did something happen.
Speaker 5 (20:07):
No, there's just a couple of things I didn't like
about kind of the way she acted, and it's just
a couple of red flags I.
Speaker 7 (20:14):
Don't know, such as, yeah, I mean we went to
a restaurant, right, and I wasn't blown away by the
chemistry between us from the beginning.
Speaker 5 (20:27):
It wasn't bad, but it was just like like whatever,
I guess, and then she was I don't know how
to explain it, but she was kind of weird, not rude,
like she's just like really short with the waiter.
Speaker 1 (20:42):
Did she do something.
Speaker 5 (20:44):
Well with the waiter? The whole night she was really
short and like almost dismissive of him. And then like
when it was time to pay, most girls are when
you're like signing the check or whatever, they you know,
pretend to look away or like look at their phone
or whatever. But she was like zoned in on my
freaking check, like to see what I put as a tip.
(21:05):
And I was like, okay, maybe she's just trying to
make sure I leave a good enough tip. It was
actually the opposite She was like, you can't leave that
much tip. That's insane, blah blah blah. Even if the
service was good. It wasn't like I left an insane
amount of money. I left like a regular generous tip
for regular service. I didn't go above and beyond. I
don't feel like but she made it seem like I
(21:26):
was this lunatic or something. It was just I don't
want to make a big thing of it. Yeah. I
didn't want to make a big thing of it either
because I still had to drive her home and stuff.
So I just kind of like blew it off. And
in my head, I'm like, Okay, this girl's a psycho basically,
But you know, I went and dropped her off.
Speaker 1 (21:44):
And then but you kissed her anyway, Yeah, why did
you kiss her?
Speaker 5 (21:47):
I mean, I honestly wasn't even going to give her
a hug, much less a kiss, but she just like
jumped in there. And then by the time I know
it like we're, you know, kissing, And I wasn't gonna
be like ill and push her away.
Speaker 7 (22:00):
I just kind of want tolled away.
Speaker 1 (22:03):
Lindsay is on the phone right now and she's listening.
Speaker 5 (22:06):
Yeah, oh yeah, beautiful.
Speaker 6 (22:09):
Hey, It was such a small moment. I can't believe
it overshadowed the whole night.
Speaker 7 (22:15):
It was.
Speaker 5 (22:17):
It wasn't the fact that the whole night wasn't weird
for you is a red flag to me.
Speaker 6 (22:22):
He was tipping like forty percent. The service was not
that great.
Speaker 5 (22:26):
But now here's not a bad It wasn't that.
Speaker 1 (22:30):
I mean to be fair, it's not your money. Yeah,
but what are you worried about?
Speaker 3 (22:34):
Times are tough?
Speaker 8 (22:35):
Why are you paying that much? I thought I was
helping him, Like some.
Speaker 6 (22:39):
Guys think they have to like impress you and tip
a ton, and you know, then they get like taken
advantage of. And you know, I was just trying to
help you. I did not think it was a bad thing.
Speaker 5 (22:50):
Look, I just thought it was rude. I'm a grown man.
I can I can't decide how much to tip. I
didn't like the whole.
Speaker 6 (22:56):
Thing, all right, whatever, I stand by it. That was
a ridicul kill a tip ridiculous.
Speaker 5 (23:01):
You're ridiculous, all right.
Speaker 1 (23:03):
Hang on you too.
Speaker 2 (23:04):
I don't think it's going to work out.
Speaker 1 (23:05):
No, No, it was very strange.
Speaker 5 (23:09):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (23:09):
Second date update, it's seven o five weekday mornings. He
replace it nine oh five. You've got the podcast as
you know, you can binge listen on the iHeartRadio app
Marcus a Corey Second Date up Day. Please subscribe and
set a pre set if you don't mind, Starry one
on one three. It's Marcus and Corey seven to twenty two.
Friday morning, Good morning, and I tell you how I'm
not proud of me. Why my wife would be? Right now?
(23:30):
What do you mean currently alternating diet coke with coffee?
Speaker 7 (23:35):
Eat?
Speaker 1 (23:36):
My teeth are crying right now.
Speaker 2 (23:39):
It's so good though.
Speaker 1 (23:40):
Oh what a Friday we're having too. Now for something ridiculous.
What is the best thing you can say to your
man to disarm him, put him in a good mood,
and probably get him to do whatever you want.
Speaker 2 (23:50):
I'm very excited to hear this. Now.
Speaker 1 (23:51):
This was a thing on TikTok I guess six months ago.
But we were drinking with the neighbors last weekend and
my wife and her girlfriend start talking about this and
it is so spot on, really crazy spot on. I
don't remember what brought on the conversation, but it doesn't matter.
Out of nowhere, her friend goes, you know, the best
thing that I can say? You could say to your man.
(24:13):
And I tried this on my husband. Is you see him,
next time you see him, next time he comes home,
he comes up the stairs, just go hey, what's up,
big dog? That's it, that's it, that's it, what's up,
big dog? And I thought to myself that would be
so powerful. But I also turned to my wife and
I said, if I got home one day, came up
the stairs and you looked at me and what what's
happened in big Dog? I'd be like, have you been drinking?
(24:35):
That's literally the last thing.
Speaker 3 (24:37):
You kind of blow my mind because I thought it
was going to be way more profound than that.
Speaker 1 (24:41):
No, but think about it. We see your husband gets
it all the time. I was gonna say, like, because
he is the big dog.
Speaker 2 (24:46):
Jeff walks in the room and I'll be like, hey, big.
Speaker 1 (24:48):
Daddy, Big Daddy's pretty good too.
Speaker 2 (24:50):
Yeah, this is ridiculous. This is ridiculous.
Speaker 3 (24:54):
But what's so funny is how impactful it is to you.
Because how flattered and and shocked you are, you should be.
Speaker 1 (25:04):
The last vehicle I bought was a pretty hardcore negotiation
that I felt like I won. If we had walked
out of the dealership and my wife looked at me,
went great job in their big dog. Oh now has
she called you big dog life mate? No, it's not
that she's never done it, not our thing. She doesn't
do that.
Speaker 2 (25:22):
What does she call you?
Speaker 1 (25:24):
All kinds of other stuff.
Speaker 2 (25:26):
Okay, probably not appropriate for air.
Speaker 1 (25:30):
I'm her baby.
Speaker 2 (25:31):
That's good.
Speaker 1 (25:33):
Thing. But like the she's just she's just very honest
and she's very alpha. Yeah and so like and that's
what I need in my life, and that's I need
to be ordered around, left my own devices, walks in.
Speaker 2 (25:49):
The room, refers to me as the Olympic gazelle.
Speaker 1 (25:51):
So well, that's not hot, is it. No, it's not empowering.
Speaker 2 (25:55):
If we're having a good day, I get sexy.
Speaker 1 (25:57):
Oh there you go.
Speaker 2 (25:59):
Or he'll walk in the room and it's me and
the dogs and he's like.
Speaker 3 (26:02):
I see four lazy turns. So sometimes I feel good
about myself, feels hot. Sometimes I don't try this and
man gets home today.
Speaker 1 (26:13):
Just try it.
Speaker 2 (26:14):
It's interesting because I thought it was gonna be something
like deep.
Speaker 1 (26:18):
I told you it was going to be lame.
Speaker 2 (26:20):
No, I don't mean lame, just I thought it was
gonna be I don't know. I mean that seems so.
Speaker 1 (26:24):
Simple your man walks in today, especially if you don't
do this on a regular basis. If you're like if
he's like Corey's husband where he gets big dog all
the time because he is the big dog, then it's
not as impactful. But if you're a type BT such
as myself, you walk in, I've got my apron on.
I'm making you dinner because that's what happens in my house.
(26:45):
Uh huh, Hey, thanks for the hot dogs, big dog.
Speaker 2 (26:49):
Maybe don't lead with I've got my apron on.
Speaker 1 (26:51):
I mean, you know, just keeping it real. That's how
it is in my house. You know what, if you've
got something to add, maybe there's a phrase that you
use or that gets used on you where you're like this, Yeah, yeah,
I told you this was ridiculous. It is the talkback
if you don't.
Speaker 4 (27:08):
Mind, it's time for good news with Marcus and.
Speaker 1 (27:13):
Corey No Joe.
Speaker 4 (27:15):
Sometimes all you need is the one a good thought
to make it a great day.
Speaker 2 (27:19):
So let's do this. It's good news on Star one O.
Speaker 1 (27:22):
One three long, so we give you good news twice
in the morning. It's seven for here on Star one
on one three. Oh, we got to get a shout
out to our winner for the Alex Warren tickets.
Speaker 2 (27:32):
Yes, that would be Catherine in those altos.
Speaker 1 (27:34):
So Catherine, Catherine made my morning. She said she's been
listening to this show since she was in elementary school
and she's now a junior in college.
Speaker 3 (27:42):
Studying biology and wants to go to medical school and
be a doctor.
Speaker 1 (27:45):
I'm so proud of her. I feel like her dad,
but I'm so proud of her. Nice Jobcat, She's gonna
have a good time. So she gets to go see
Alex Warren at the Masonic next week and she gets
to meet him ahead of time, get a photo op. Yes,
that'll be fun, all right. So our good news. But
another member of our listening family, and I was sharing
this last hour. I love everybody that listens to this
(28:06):
show because you guys are so talented and so accomplished
and so lovely. Everybody's so nice and so.
Speaker 2 (28:11):
Open and friendly. Uh huh.
Speaker 1 (28:13):
So shout out to our listener Jennifer Walig in Walnut Creek,
who just published a book called Finding Max. That's so cool,
and she's a genealogy nerd self proclaimed, and she went
digging in about her family found some things out about her.
She figured out that her dad was adopted, and then
she found out some family secrets that maybe she didn't
(28:34):
want to know. It's a good book and it's a
quick read.
Speaker 2 (28:37):
But it's a you know now, she has a great story.
Speaker 1 (28:39):
She's got a great story. And again she's from Walnut
Creek and she's doing a book signing tomorrow, so I
want to give her some love.
Speaker 2 (28:45):
Where's the book signing?
Speaker 1 (28:46):
So the book signing is going to be at the
Barnes and Noble in the Plaza Esquala shopping Center in
Walnut Creek. That's there on Locust Street from two to
four tomorrow afternoon.
Speaker 2 (28:58):
That's so cool. I wrote a book.
Speaker 1 (29:00):
Yes, nobody wanted it well as I understand it. If
you published it, you would get fired.
Speaker 2 (29:05):
I wouldn't have gotten this job, that's for sure.
Speaker 1 (29:07):
It's a tell all. And Corey has seen some things.
In fact, when you meet Corey you're gonna be like, oh,
that lady has seen some things. That is rough. My
favorite light about Corey's book, And I don't want to
take away from Jennifer because she's an active, published artist,
but Corey goes if if you were naughty or if
(29:28):
I had a bad story about you. I did not
use your name. If I liked you, I used your
name at any rate. Yeah go, please go support Jennifer.
Speaker 2 (29:37):
That'd be so cool.
Speaker 1 (29:38):
Part of our listening family. And again Walnut Creek at
the Barnes and Noble there on Locus Street in the
Plaza Escuela shopping Center from two to four tomorrow afternoon.
Tell her. Marcus and Corey say hi and check out

it's time to play the base favorite trivia game. This
(29:59):

All right, Marian comes back in Freemont. We'll see how
she did against Shannon and Shako. Question number one, what

Speaker 2 (33:06):
Both Marianne and Shannon said lunch. That is correct.
Speaker 1 (33:10):

Speaker 2 (33:16):
Both Marianne and Shannon passed It's Aslam.
