It's nearly touching - less than 100 feet is left to close the gap.
One more 25 metre piece to go on from the US side - then an 11 metre piece.. - known as the mid-span closure - will link the the two sides... sometime in 4 to 6 weeks.
Once connected - the bridge deck between the two towers will measusre just over half a mile - making it the longest main span of any cable-stayed bridge in North America .. and 10th longest in the world.
