Speaker 1 (00:04):
So this is kind of a venting session. I think
many of you would agree with me and sympathize and
empathize and every thighs with it. I'm writing a blog
post about this too. I hate online services, the thought

(00:27):
of doing things online, meaning and I might say online,
I mean on a computer, tablet, do the internet or
phone services? Hate them too. It is so bad now
that you can't reach anyone, and if you do, it's forever.
You know, we all have lives, we have things to do.

(00:48):
Maybe it's got to work, take care of people. We
can't just sit on the phone for hours wait for
somebody to come on. And sometimes even when you do
wait and get somebody, they have attitude. And you know
you're frustrated. So you know you have little attitude. They
should know that. And it's just it just it goes

(01:10):
bad all the way around. And it's just today I
have a Eurology appointment, a Eurology referral. So once before
I called, they had me on hold, the phone hung up.
I called back and went to a voicemail situation. That's

(01:31):
a message no no called me, called again, can't get through.
You just have messages on a call back. So I said,
I figured, okay, So that's how I was not gonna
work today. I called, I got through. I couldn't believe it,
and I was very nice. I'm just like, okay. She
asked me some questions. You know my name, but insurance

(01:52):
I have? And date of birth? Did that? She goes, hope, please, okay.
I set out home for twenty minutes. Then the phone
hung up. I didn't touch it, get hung up. I
call back and it goes right to a voiceless situation.
So that's a voicemail saying I've got a phone twice

(02:14):
it's hung up on me. I'm just waiting to I
need somebody, could be a college, try to referral and
then my name number. That's not gonna wait. I kept
calling and calling, hanging up and calling, got through to
her again. I go, hi, Oh my god, I was
I was on hold and the phone hung up. She

(02:36):
ows I did not hang up on you. So I'm
hearing attitude. I'm hearing She's like, I like the phone
hung up. I was on I didn't hangle the phone myself.
I was on hold. That's why I'm calling back, and
he goes, well, I was only one here and I
was only when I was helping you. I go, that's

(02:56):
my point, and I was like, going, why am I
getting attitude? And so she's like, well, I'm taking care
of patients, blah blah blah. I might need to put
you on hold again. And I will fully admit I'm
at you. Guys. I lost it. Some harsh language coming
up right now. I told her, no, need to fuck you,

(03:21):
and I have the phone. Did I feel good saying
fuck you to her? Yeah? It felt good, but still
I didn't get ahead. And so now I can go
back to that place because obviously I ruined that. So
I was suggesting that at home. But that's the frustration
I'm having when I need to go see aurologists because
I have a condition I need to check on. That's
very serious. And it took a month to get the referral.

(03:45):
First of all, to Trevor. I kept calling and calling
and calling, and my daughter was like, I don't know
what's wrong. I said, is approved, and but I needed
I have to follow a protocol cause I need the
letter and I didn't the authorization number all this stuff.
If I get it anything, I'm trying to reach the irs.
The regular number is just nobody answering. Now you just

(04:07):
ring rings, it rings and then just stops ringing. Well,
it's like I find there's actual IRS centers. You an appointment. Okay, great,
let's go in. Let's go in and bring everything in.
We have literally just a couple We have like two questions.
There's two questions because the portal is same with my
insurance by medical. The portals are not great. They're up

(04:28):
to date. You said messages. Nobody message, nobody listens to it,
looks at him. So I'm like, okay, I just need
to answers. We're just go in person. We'll take again,
take time off. Grab my mother, who you knows elderly,
bring her down. I'll do the whole we'll do the
whole thing, and we just get this whole thing settled.
That phone number, he's ringing and ringing and ringing. Press

(04:54):
one and then you get through press one, Press five,
press seven. I understand just saying voice. I don't want voice.
Take it off the way it is. Online services. Phone
services are full of shit. They don't want to talk
to people. So every company I deal with, I deal
this with premo brands. Also, I'm out of everybody. I

(05:16):
don't give fuck. Primo brands the water try to shit
on us too. And I finally, like, I finally got
through to them, and they're still saying we owe them money.
We don't. I don't no money. I said, screw you guys.
I have been calling to Everady get through to them
for water, water delivery to Forever. It is just it's ridiculous.

(05:37):
It is ridiculous and it makes no sense to me.
And because they try to cut jobs obviously, and I said,
I heard the IRS is under staff too, us the consumer,
the patients or whatever we suffer. I wait for another referm.

(06:01):
And I went to my portal today and on the
portal actually says, well, you know, the every message you
said is not given stricten to the doctor. It's funnel
through the nurse practitioners. And just it's so when you call,
I've called ten times today, have I've gone through? So

(06:22):
I try to schedule a visit so I at least
can talk to the doctor and say here, I need
these two things done. I'm not a new referral for
the Eurologist because I don't go there, and I still
looking for his referral. That's a month later, Also, it
is ridiculous. They don't want to talk to anybody, you know.

(06:44):
But here's so funny. I amtrak at and T If
you're the ones that I used to work with all
the time, and I can call, it's hard to get
through to them now too. Before they are great, I
had no problem with They get a problem, call be great.
It is ridiculous, ridiculous, it's to the point just it's

(07:09):
it's almost laughable. How do you get anything done if
you can't reach nobody, and going in person may not
help either. I thought Wall was goblin Gold was gonna
go fucking over there, like Hi, I need to see somebody,
come make an appointment. Many times I will tell you
can't do that in person. You gotta call a phone number.

(07:36):
It is, you know, because Ice work customer service. I
did it for a thousand years. It's an art form
to it. There is. And yes, sometimes you gotta deal
with unruly customers. They are not happy, and many times
they know it's not your fault. But there's a frustration
level that we feel when either we're in pain or
try to help somebody or try to get an answer

(07:58):
and you can't get an answer. I don't need the
fact page. I talk to an agent. He talked to
a real person. There are only a few places what
you paid. U channel things pretty fast. I'll give DoorDash credit,
I'll give Lift credits. They literally the chat bots. They

(08:19):
work it out with you. You can you hold on
you direct answers, and they're pretty fast. Amazon. I hate
to say it too, but Amazon is pretty good to you.
They have some issues also. I had once several times
where a package the Amazon driver just threw it in
my yard. It says clearly placed on or near front porch.

(08:42):
I have a huge front yard, so you haven't seen it.
It was by the gate. People can walk by and
just grab a package. I wouldn't even know it's happened
a couple of times. Another problem of Amazon is know this.
They'll say sometimes well in says they're delivered. I go,
but I don't have it, and I show the proof.
I do the whole pick sure or anything. We can't
do anything for two or three days, and then you

(09:03):
can then you can file a refund. I'm like, but
I needed the thing today, and I'm like, I may
want to talk or I need it tomorrow. So I
talked and order another one, but you want me to
spend my own money a second time. That's in their mind.
It's just it's the system is set up against you.
It is crazy. In all the world, of all the

(09:25):
stuff we got to deal with, there has to be
a better way of handling people's problems and situations. Doctor's appointments,
dentist appointments, I appoint that's to be an easier way.
There just has to be. And yes, I get that
sometimes when you have I don't have better insurance. I

(09:46):
hate my insurance. I don't have any insurance. So I'm sure, yes,
if you get better maybe you get better service. I
don't know. But for the rest of us, it's not good.
And I just wanted to vent that out because I
feel there's white people out there who will totally relate
to me with this. I'm sure you guys relate because
totally understand what I'm saying. It is atrocious and it's

(10:07):
getting worse, and you know, I almost want the AI
to come in and if they can do a better
job and get the things I need done, I'll take it,
because there has to be a bet. I mean, I'm
sitting here and I have as of right now, I've
been all morning. It's been like four hours. I have
nothing accomplished. I need accomplished, nothing like other things that

(10:28):
I do. I can't just sit here and keep doing it.
So I'm like try again tomorrow in between my shows.
And I try. It's just and next thing they'll be December,
and then they'll be January. You know, it's just it
is ridiculous. There has to be a better way, and
I don't know what it is, and I don't know.
It's just it's it's not good, folks. We need a
lot of help there. You go from the title to show,

(10:51):
there's a lot of help that is needed. There is
that's off today. I guess I'm gonna go and punch
a wall out or something. I have, James, like, you know,
a lot of help dot Com a lot of help
all Strian platforms. We'll talk to you next time. Mm

Ruthie's Table 4

Ruthie's Table 4

For more than 30 years The River Cafe in London, has been the home-from-home of artists, architects, designers, actors, collectors, writers, activists, and politicians. Michael Caine, Glenn Close, JJ Abrams, Steve McQueen, Victoria and David Beckham, and Lily Allen, are just some of the people who love to call The River Cafe home. On River Cafe Table 4, Rogers sits down with her customers—who have become friends—to talk about food memories. Table 4 explores how food impacts every aspect of our lives. “Foods is politics, food is cultural, food is how you express love, food is about your heritage, it defines who you and who you want to be,” says Rogers. Each week, Rogers invites her guest to reminisce about family suppers and first dates, what they cook, how they eat when performing, the restaurants they choose, and what food they seek when they need comfort. And to punctuate each episode of Table 4, guests such as Ralph Fiennes, Emily Blunt, and Alfonso Cuarón, read their favourite recipe from one of the best-selling River Cafe cookbooks. Table 4 itself, is situated near The River Cafe’s open kitchen, close to the bright pink wood-fired oven and next to the glossy yellow pass, where Ruthie oversees the restaurant. You are invited to take a seat at this intimate table and join the conversation.
