In season 2 of this season, I welcome to the Brewcast Khalil Rush'dan, convicted of murder, spent 15 1/2 years in prison, and was eventually exonerated. His journey has one few of us can identify with, but one needing to be shared. Since his release from prison in 2012, Khalil has been a tireless advocate for criminal legal reform and helped those being released from prison transition into society. He shares here his story and his spiritual awakening as a result. He is a board member of the Arizona Justice Project, which helped him be exonerated. He serves as the Social Justice Program Manager for Arizona Faith Network. And he helps those being released from prison as they transition back into society through Sage Counseling. He also serves our community in many other capacities, including serving on boards and volunteering his time for others.
