Author Putty Putman writes:
The disciples were sent with the commission the Church has carried for the last two thousand years. In the gospels of Matthew, Mark, and Luke, it is represented missionally, but John captures it relationally: “As the Father has sent me, even so I am sending you.”
This is our call. This is our charge. To be the visible image of the invisible Jesus. To be able to say, “If you’ve seen me, you’ve seen the Lord.” It is a calling none of us lives out perfectly, but it is what we are called to nonetheless. Jesus came not only to provide a new identity and to reclaim this world from the devil, but also to give us a clear picture of what the original design looks like. He is the picture of what we were always meant to be and what we truly are in Him.
Stay tuned for my conversation with Putty Putman about his new book, “Live Like Jesus: Discover the Power and the Impact of Your True Identity”, next in this episode of SER.
