Anne Hathaway Preemptively Shuts Down Fat-Shamers

While the life of a star can be pretty luxurious, it can also be fairly difficult. Being in the spotlight opens celebrities up to lots of critiques from the media and from the public. It might be expected that people will pass judgement over actors' performances, but when rude comments are made about their bodies, it crosses a line.

Anne Hathaway is no stranger to those kinds of remarks. In fact, it's happened so often to her that she took time to preemptively lash out against fat-shamers who she is certain will have a lot to say about her in the coming months.

In a post on Instagram, the Oscar-winner explained that she's gaining weight for a new role and has a message to all future fat-shamers: "It's not me, it's you."

The post includes a video of Anne's extensive work out, which she wanted to set to Queen's "Fath Bottomed Girls" but couldn't due to copyright issues.

The 35-year-old mother previously voiced her body-positive opinions on Instagram in a post where she showed a pair of jeans she cut to fit her better. That caption read:

"There is no shame in gaining weight during pregnancy (or ever). There is no shame if it takes longer than you think it will to lose the weight (if you want to lose it at all). There is no shame in finally breaking down and making your own jean shorts because last summer’s are just too dang short for this summer’s thighs. Bodies change. Bodies grow. Bodies shrink. It’s all love (don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.)."

No word yet on what the upcoming role is but there's no doubt Anne's performance will slay.
