Twitter Is Convinced Drake Just Teased His Album Release Date In New Video

Is Drake dropping a new album next month? That is the question!

Fans are convinced the Canadian rapper is releasing new music very soon following the release of his "Money In The Grave" music video on Monday (August 26). In the video, Drake is shown rapping in front of a scoreboard that reads "Home: 9" and "Away: 6," which many believed was both a hint at the possible name of the "Draft Day" rapper's new album or song, "Home Away," and its possible release date of 9/6, September 6th.

Drake added to album speculation by posting a still frame of him standing in front of the 9/6 scoreboard to Instagram following the video's release. "🙏🏽," he simply captioned the picture.

"Did you peep that from the 9/6 ... man Drake better not play with us," one fan wrote on Twitter. While another boldly tweeted, "9/6 New album on September 6. Calling it now."

As noted by the "God's Plan" rapper's fans, 9/6 is also the day Post Malone is set to release an album, so if Drake is, in fact, dropping a project, it will be stiff competition for the "Goodbyes" rapper's third album.

A possible new Drake album comes just weeks after the record-breaking artist surprised fans by dropping a compilation album, Care Package, that featured the most beloved songs of his career. Even though the project featured classic Drake tracks, the album debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200.

As fans know, anything Drake touches turns to gold... well, platinum in his case. Drake's most recent new album, Scorpion, dropped in June 2018 and led to Drake passing The Beatles' record for most songs simultaneously in the Billboard Hot 100's Top 10. Four months later, he earned 12 tracks on the Hot 100's Top 10 in a calendar year, surpassing the Beatles' record of 11. And this past June, he earned the second-most Hot 100 Top 10s ever, with 35, topping the British band, and putting him second, only behind Madonna who has 38.
