Kelsea Ballerini and Halsey performed a heartfelt rendition of "Homecoming Queen?" for the upcoming 70th episode of CMT Crossroads.
The two artists took the stage at Nashville's Ascend Amphitheater back in October to film their acoustic performance of not only Ballerini's single but also Halsey's hit song, "Graveyard."
"If there is any song that I wish that I wrote, it is 'Homecoming Queen?' by Kelsea Ballerini," Halsey told the crowd the duet started.
The special, girl-power packed performance will air on CMT Crossroads on March 25 at 10 p.m. ET on CMT. Fans can take a look at the "Homecoming Queen?" collaboration below now.
According to People, Ballerini and Halsey have been friends for almost two years now. They first connected over beers and Dixie Chicks karaoke in July 2018 during Halsey's tour stop in Nashville.
"I'm obviously a really big fan of her music, so I went to the show with my friends and afterwards said hi, and she didn't have a show the next day, so she was like, "Let's go hang!' And I was like 'Yep!'" Ballerini previously shared.
"We just hung out a few places in Nashville," she adds. "We're both really similar in age and had a lot to talk about; it was cool to be around someone who's so creative and so driven and so down-to-earth. She really is so lovely. I feel like I made a new friend."
Ballerini released "Homecoming Queen?" as the first single off her upcoming third studio album, kelsea. The new record will include several collaborations including one called "Half Of My Hometown" with Kenny Chesney and "The Other Girl" featuring Halsey.
Kelsea is Ballerini's third studio album following 2017's Unapologetically, which included hit songs like "Legends," "I Hate Love Songs" and "Miss Me More."
Kelsea is due out March 20, 2020. See a full track listing here.
