Thomas Rhett Shares New Summer Love Song, 'Slow Down Summer'

Thomas Rhett is on a roll! The country star continues to share new songs he's written during his time at home quarantined.

Most recently, Rhett debuted a new song called, "Slow Down Summer." The track finds Rhett singing about a summer love he didn't want to end.

"We had our hopes up and windows down, fallin' fast in a one lane town, tangled up with your lips on mine, never seen a brighter green in those eyes," he sings. "And I put my jacket on your shoulder, wishing the weather wasn't getting colder, letting you go holding on to each other, closing our eyes saying slow down summer."

"Slow Down Summer" was shared just days after the country star introduced fans to the stirring song, "Want It Again," which finds Rhett telling the story of a man who always hoped a love from the past would eventually come back to him.

"Oh, I hope one day you'll find your way back into my arms," Rhett sings in the first chorus. "So girl I'll put this heart of mine somewhere good and safe incase you want it again someday."

Additionally, Rhett has shared several other new songs with fans including "Ya Heard," "Country Again," "What's Your Country Song?" and more. In March, he also officially released his new uplifting new song, "Be A Light" featuring Keith Urban, Reba McEntire, Hillary Scott and Chris Tomlin. The song, written by Rhett alongside Josh Miller, Josh Thompson and Matt Dragstrem, offers a message of hope and encouragement in these difficult times.

Proceeds from "Be A Light" sales go to benefit the MusiCares COVID-19 Relief Fund. This fund goes towards members of the music industry who are currently suffering from the coronavirus and those out of work due to the pandemic.
