JoJo Recruits Demi Lovato On Powerhouse 'Lonely Hearts' Remix: Listen

JoJo has recruited Demi Lovato for a powerful remix.

The 29-year-old pop star released an empowering rendition of her song “Lonely Hearts” on Friday (August 28), with added verses and vocals from the 28-year-old songbird. “I could pick up the phone right now/ And make that 2 AM call, I know just what to say/ But that ain't what I need right now/ And I won't let my wants get in my way,” Lovato sings on her verse, before joining JoJo for a moving harmony.

“'Cause you might abuse my trust/ Switch up and ghost on us/ I cannot f—k me up like you/ I'm insecure enough/ And I don't need to be guessin' if you care,” the songstresses harmonize together before leading into the powerhouse chorus.

The song, produced by Sir Dylan and Doc McKinney, was originally released on JoJo’s 2020 album, good to know, which arrived back in May. JoJo dropped the record in tandem with the release of the deluxe edition of the LP, which contains 16 tracks including features from Lovato (“Lonely Hearts”) and Tinashe (“Love Reggae”). (Tory Lanez, who was initially featured on the album’s track “Comeback,” was removed from the project following Megan Thee Stallion‘s claims that he shot her back in July.)

The singers teased the duet earlier this month, and considering they've been longtime fans of each other, the stars couldn’t wait for fans to finally hear their passion project.

“‘Lonely Hearts’ is out now with the amazing @iamjojo !! Thank you so much for letting me jump on this track… been a fan since day 1,” Lovato captioned a snippet from the song on Twitter, to which JoJo responded, “So happy we finally got to do this!!!!!! U sound/ are ABsolutley incredible. love u 4eva baëb.”
