Just about a week after releasing their new song, The Struts have unveiled the music video for “Strange Days” on Wednesday (September 9).
In collaboration with Robbie Williams, the new song was written and recorded in quarantine and is basically the theme song to the times we're living in.
In the (mostly) black and white video, we see The Struts' lead singer Luke Spiller walking along a deserted road before taking his spot in front of a sheet and Williams joins him equipped with an umbrella.
To further drive the uplifting lyrics, all the guys have smiles on their faces as they play a long to the ballad. Fans even get some behind-the-scenes photos from the shoot where everyone looks like they're having a blast. As what we can assume is a symbol of hope and brighter days, toward the end of the video, the black and white visuals suddenly burst into color.
While the video isn't as lavish as some of The Struts' past videos, fans were so excited to see a new video so soon. “Just when I thought you couldn’t blow my mind any more than you already have. Brilliant. The visuals in this video blew me away!!” one fan wrote while another said, “This video is STUNNING. I audibly gasped when it switched to color. Bravo, boys!”
Fans who follow the band on Instagram will recognize the photos in the video from teasers the band posted before announcing their new music — which also includes the song “Another Hit of Showmanship.”
The Struts announced their new album, Strange Days, was written and recorded in just 10 days while the band was in quarantine. It'll be available on October 16 & pre-orders are available now on CD, cassette, or a digital download. Strange Days will be the followup to 2018's Young & Dangerous.
