Jared Leto Gives Fans Preview Of New Documentary, Announces Release Date

It was announced last spring that Jared Leto would make his directorial debut with the A Day In The Life Of America documentary. After premiering at the Tribeca Film Festival last year, fans will now be able to watch it at home in just a few months.

The Thirty Seconds to Mars singer took to social media on Thursday (October 8) to give fans a first look at the documentary and announce that it'll be released January 11, 2021, on PBS.

“Seeing the final product, formed of the 92 incredibly talented crews, covering all 50 states plus Puerto Rico and DC, has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my career to date,” he wrote. “This movie documents a moment of real division. I hope it acts as a gateway to understand that although we may share different views, fundamentally the one thing that connects us is this country.”

In the clip, Leto explains the concept behind the documentary while scenes from A Day In The Life Of America plays over his voice.

From skydiving, protests, and more, you'll get a small glimpse into what to expect from the film early next year. If you're expecting the documentary to be one-sided, that won't be the case. While answering questions about the documentary last year, Leto revealed there are conversations within it that he doesn't agree with.

“I felt it was really important to not censor who we are, who our neighbors are, who America is and to get an accurate depiction of the nation in this really tumultuous and important time,” he said.
