Sen. Brown 'Confident' Biden Will Win Election, Despite Trump Winning Ohio

As the nation awaits the results of a historic presidential election, Ohio Sen. Sherrod Brown believes Democratic candidate Joe Biden will ultimately win against President Donald Trump.

Late Tuesday night (November 3), the Associated Press reported Trump winning Ohio, one of the key battleground states in the election. The national outcome of the presidential election remained too close to call as of Wednesday morning (November 4). As of Wednesday, Biden officially secured more votes than any candidate in history.

Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine predicted Trump's win in Ohio, including on Election Day.

"I think it's going to be a very, very close race and I think the President squeaks it out," DeWine said. He continued later, “it's going to be a close race. The President won with a big margin last time. But I think he's going win this time. I think the intensity is there."

WKYC streamed Brown’s virtual press conference Wednesday.

“Obviously, I was hoping for something very different in Ohio,” Brown said. However, “I’m confident when the votes are counted that Joe Biden is going to be the next president. I think all signs point to that…It’s the voters” who will declare the winner.

As of about midday Wednesday, Biden garnered 238 electoral votes and Trump had gained 213. The AP explained Wednesday that it isn’t calling the presidential race at this time “because neither candidate has secured the 270 electoral college votes needed for victory.”
