JoJo Siwa opened up about her “beautiful” girlfriend for the first time.
The singer and dancer expressed herself in a big way last month when she came out to the world as a member of the LGBTQ+ community. Now, in a new guest appearance on Jimmy Fallon’s The Tonight Show, the 17-year-old shared even more details about her personal life, including the lovely lady who inspired her to come out.
Speaking about her decision to come out, Siwa explained that it was when she was creating a TikTok with friends who are a part of the “Pride House” — a TikTok group of LGBTQ creators — that she wondered if the post would “out her.”
"I was like, 'I don't really mind, it is true,'" the Dance Moms alum told Fallon. "I do have the most amazing, wonderful, perfect, most beautiful girlfriend in the whole world. It's not something I'm ashamed of, I just haven't shown the internet yet."
After alluding to her sexuality in a video of her dancing to Lady Gaga’s “Born This Way,” Siwa had a FaceTime call with her girlfriend, who encouraged her to confirm her sexuality in her now-viral coming-out post.
Despite Siwa’s fear of “[losing] everything” after coming out, she says she’s the happiest she’s ever been.
"About 10 minutes before I came out to do this interview today, I was again on the phone with my girl and I started crying,” she recalled. “She's like, 'What's wrong with you?' And I was like, 'I'm just so happy because now I get to share what makes me the happiest with the world, and it makes my heart so happy.'"
