Minnesota Police are on the hunt for a squirrel that has been hoarding nuts inside of a squad car.

According to a Facebook post by the Pine County Sheriff's Office, one officer received quite the surprise while driving his patrol car when a squirrel popped out from underneath his computer and onto the dash.

The squirrel in question "gave a quick stare down to the officer" before running across the dash, along the closed drivers' side window, and then disappearing somewhere in the car.

The officer pulled over to investigate the car intruder. He opened all of the squad car doors to let the squirrel out, but it was nowhere to be found. Instead, the officer found the squirrel's stash of winter food in the back of his car which contained dozens of nuts.

The post finished off by saying the nuts have "been placed in evidence" and if anyone sees a squirrel looking for his nut stash the Pine County Sheriff's office is "looking for said squirrel for questioning in relation to this incident."

Here is the entire caption of the hilarious Facebook post by the Sheriff's Office:

"Situational awareness lesson. We tell people to be aware of your surroundings and be prepared to act if the situation presents itself. Today, an officer was handed a curveball. As he was driving down the road, a squirrel pops out from underneath his computer and jumps out on the dash. He gave a quick stare down to the officer, then it runs across the dash and along the drivers’ side window (which was closed) and goes somewhere behind him. The officer pulls over and opens all of his doors to get the squirrel out but it is no where to be found. A further investigation reveals that apparently the back of the patrol unit is a good place to store your winter food. These nuts have now been placed in evidence. If anyone sees a squirrel looking for his food, we are looking for said squirrel for questioning in relation to this incident."
