Thousands of people are demanding refunds after a music festival on South Padre Island ended up being a dud.

Sol Beach Festival on Saturday, August 28, promised live performances from Puerto Rican rapper Myke Towers, Kevvo, and other DJs. None of the artists were able to perform due to a power outage.

Social media video shows Kevvo on the stage and in the middle of a song when the power cut out.

A DJ later came on the stage and promised that the lights would come back on. However, attendees ended up waiting two hours in the dark, Valley Central reported.

“We waited in line for three hours, at first there was some artists singing but seems like the lights and music went out, after that nobody came out again. We finally got in around 11:30 and once we were in everyone was everywhere, no areas were assigned, nobody performed nothing at all, we waited until cops showed up and told everyone to leave,” Lyseth Mayorga Serna, who drove in from Houston, told the station.

The disappointed crowd also knocked over barriers and threw beers at the stage as they waited for the show to start again.

Now concert promoters are pointing fingers at each other for the failed festival.

Promoter Ram de la Cruz told the station that there wasn't enough staff to run the power generators and manage the show.

“It was just a big mess,” said de la Cruz.

The main organizer Jorge Garcia has been silent since the failed festival, but he told Valley Central that his team will put out an announcement about what happened.
