Britney Spears is free from the crutches of her father, Jamie Spears, who was suspended as the conservator of her estate on Wednesday (September 29).
After her monumental win in court, where Judge Brenda Penny ruled that Jamie has been suspected from the 13-year legal arrangement, the pop titan took to Instagram to share a video of herself flying a plan. “On cloud 9 right now 🤩☁️✈️ !!!!” she captioned the post. “First time flying a plane and first time in a prop plane ✈️ !!! Geez I was scared 😳 🙄 !!!. Pssss bringing the ship 🛳 home, JL … Stay classy beautiful people !!!! New pics coming soon 📷😉✨ !!!!”
In the ruling, Jamie was suspended at the request of the entertainer and her attorney, Mathew Rosengart. In the meantime, John Zabel has been appointed as the temporary conservator of her estate until December 31, 2021. On the personal front, Jodi Montgomery will remain the conservator of her person until the same date. However, both teams are due in court on November 12 to determine whether the conservatorship should be eliminated entirely.
With the help of the #FreeBritney movement, a few documentaries and the star's own bombshell testimony, it appears as if Spears is on the path towards complete freedom. “I want changes going forward. I deserve changes. I was told I have to sit down and be evaluated — again — if I want to end the conservatorship. I didn’t know I could petition the conservatorship to end it," she told Judge Penny over the phone this past summer. "I’m sorry for my ignorance, but I honestly didn’t know that. I don’t think I owe anyone to be evaluated. I’ve done more than enough. I don’t feel like I should even be in a room with anyone to offend me by trying to question my capacity of intelligence, whether I need to be in this stupid conservatorship or not."
