Amy Schneider, an engineering manager from Oakland, won her 39th game on Jeopardy! on Monday, January 24.

This officially makes her the contestant with the second-most consecutive wins in the history of the popular trivia game show.

According to NPR, that title had previously been held by graduate student Matt Amodio. His 38-game streak ended in October 2021.

Amodio and Schnieder will go head to head in the next Tournament of Champions.

The contestant that still holds the all-time record is Ken Jennings, who won 74 consecutive games in 2004. He's currently the guest host of the show.

"It still feels unreal," Schneider said in a statement. "Knowing that I had this chance, I was definitely thinking about it. Then Ken said it, and I thought, 'Alright, I just accomplished this huge thing' and it was pretty great."

Schneider has now earned $1,319,800 in winnings.

In addition to her consecutive winning-streak record, she's also the fifth millionaire in the show's history, the highest-winning female contestant, and the first openly trans contestant to qualify for the show's Tournament of Champions.

This exciting news comes after it was reported Schneider was robbed at gunpoint near her home over New Year's weekend. Luckily, she wasn't injured and a spokesperson for Jeopardy! said they reached out to her privately to offer help.
