DaBaby is facing backlash once again. This time around, its coming from rapper Calboy, who's clearly not a fan of his new joint project with YoungBoy Never Broke Again.
On Tuesday, March 8, the Chicago rapper went off on DaBaby in a series of tweets after the "Bop" rapper connected with YB new collaborative album, Better Than You. The album dropped on the same day as the late King Von's posthumous release What It Means to Be King. In his now-deleted Twitter tirade, Calboy, who's Von's cousin, called out DaBaby for seemingly "picking sides" in the ongoing beef between YB and Lil Durk's OTF crew.
“How you got respect for my cuzin n the dead but got a whole tape with a n***a dissing him, respect ah be to leave tht shit alone all together n pray both parties safe if that’s how u bummin, U a life size weirdo mascot,” Calboy tweeted. “Sell yo soul and integrity for bread u a b***h.”
"Maybe Y’all misunderstood ..a n***a ain’t bothered bout a collab," Calboy continued. "This n***a Juss said nobody gone make him pick sides ..wen u dropped u picked a side ..y’all dropped same day to battle for sales you kno wats going on .here y’all come victimizing n***a tht capitalize off drama."
The initial drama stems from YoungBoy's ongoing beef with Lil Durk, who signed Von to his OTF imprint prior to the rapper's death in 2020. Days before DaBaby and YB dropped their album, the Baton Rouge, La. native and Durk had traded shots on two separate songs, Durk's "AHHH HA!" and YB's "I Hate YoungBoy."
DaBaby had previously responded to others, like OTF affiliate Memo600, who criticized his decision to work with YoungBoy. However, he didn't directly respond to Calboy's tweets. Instead, DaBaby appeared to react via a pair of comments under an Instagram post about the situation. Watch Calboy explain his thoughts about DaBaby below.
