Lifetime's hit reality show Married at First Sight is coming to Nashville, giving complete strangers a chance to find true love in Music City.

According to Tennessee Tribune, the show is filming its 16th season in Nashville, chronicling the newly-married lives of several strangers who met for the first time at the altar. For anyone unfamiliar with the premise of the show, the couples aren't matched with just any stranger. Relationship experts pair up would-be couples they believe are compatible and who agree to get married. The couple then live together for eight weeks as a married couple before finally deciding to either stay married or split up.

Ten singles from the Nashville area will be paired up to see if they can successfully skip the lackluster dating scene and jump right into marriage, including 32-year-old Nicole and 36-year-old Christopher who are set to tie the knot after struggling to find a match in Music City. Another couple, 31-year-old Jasmine and 39-year-old Airris, each are ready to settle down and start a family and hope their match-up can last.

Casting director Donna Driscoll spoke to WSMV earlier this year about the search for the perfect candidates, saying the "most important element" is that they are ready for a commitment.

"It's a testament to couples coming in to the experiment truly being ready, because the experiment only has a chance of success if your heart and mind are in the right place," said Driscoll.

Married at First Sight just aired its 15th season. The next season, set in Nashville, will return in 2023.
