Offset is joining the chorus of critics who've shamed Elon Musk for suggesting that George Floyd's killer should get a pardon from President Donald Trump.
On Tuesday, March 4, the owner of X, formerly known as Twitter, reposted a video from conservative pundit Ben Shapiro. In the video, Shapiro launched a campaign for Derek Chauvin, the police officer who was convicted of killing Floyd in 2020, to receive a presidential pardon. Musk reposted the video and said, "Something to think about." Musk immediately faced backlash from supporters of Floyd including the Migos rapper.
“Racist b***h playin in black folks faces,” Offset wrote in an Instagram comment.
Offset continued to dismiss Elon Musk by claiming he would boycott Tesla cars. "Driving Ferrari not Tesla," he wrote. The "JEALOUSY" rapper isn't the only artist to call out Musk since he became a Trump supporter. Before Trump was reelected, Set's estranged wife Cardi B spoke at a campaign rally for former Vice President Kamala Harris during her presidential campaign. Following her speech, Musk called Bardi "another puppet who can’t even talk without being fed the words." Cardi immediately fired back at Musk on X.
"I’m not a puppet Elon.. I’m a daughter of two immigrant parents that had to work their ass off to provide for me!" she said. "I’m a product of welfare, I’m a product of section 8, I’m a product of poverty and I’m a product of what happens when the system is set up against you….But you don’t know nothing about that. You don’t know not one thing about the American struggle…. PS fix my algorithm."
In addition to Cardi, other artists like Tyler, The Creator and Eminem have also dissed Elon Musk since he joined the Trump administration as the head of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).
