In a recent video with Town and Country magazine shared on TikTok, Dunst explained that while most people say her first name as "Kur-sten," it is actually pronounced "Keer-sten," per People. However, she doesn't "blame people" for getting it wrong. In fact, now decades into her career, she has given up trying to correct those who pronounce her name incorrectly.
"Everyone messes up my name. So I give up, I don't care," she said, adding that she will answer to any pronunciation of Kirsten and even Kristen.
Fans in the comments praised Dunst for her honesty. "We love an unbothered queen," one user said while another commiserated with the actress, writing, "I have one of those names that no one pronounces right. Sometimes you just give up."
