Cardi B's very first Met Gala ended on a bit of a sour note. According to TMZ, her security team allegedly beat up an overzealous fan who insisted that the rapper give him her autograph.
The outlet also has video footage of the act taking place. Apparently, the guards punched and kicked the fan multiple times before the cops showed up. "Law enforcement sources tell us the fan was trying to get an autograph from Cardi shortly after 2 AM as she left a post-Gala event," TMZ reads. "In this video TMZ obtained, you can see Cardi tells the fan, no ... but he persists saying, 'I'm an autograph hound.' The next thing you see is a bunch of guys stomping someone on the ground."
The fan also gave a statement to police. He said that three men pushed him to the ground, before the hitting and kicking started. At around 2:30am, just a few minutes after the violent altercation, the fan was transported to the hospital via ambulance. Reportedly, he was treated for pain in his neck and back.
"Cardi was attending the Met Gala with her fiancé Offset, and the rest of Migos," TMZ adds. "They had left the scene by the time cops and paramedics arrived. At least one of the attackers in the video had been seen with Migos earlier in the evening." The NYPD is now investigating the incident.
