Fans Are Convinced The Weeknd Disses Drake In New Song 'Lost In The Fire'

Coincidence or direct shade, that is the question!
After The Weeknd dropped his hot new single "Lost in the Fire" (if you haven't listened to it, please do β it's FIRE! Pun totally intended), fans were quick to decode the song's sultry lyrics, and boy did they seem to find more than they bargained for.
On the track, which also features French producer Gesaffelstein, Weeknd sings in the first verse: "And I just want a baby with the right one / 'Cause I would never be the one to hide one." While the "Starboy" singer did not call Drake out by name, fans, and really anyone who was awake in 2018, were convinced that the lyrics took a pretty clear shot at Drake since he was infamously outed for keeping his son a secret last year.
Fans of both Toronto-born natives wasted zero time sharing the assumed shade and their reactions to it on Twitter.

The "In My Feelings" rapper's secret child was revealed on Pusha T's Drake-targeted diss track "The Story of Adidon" in May. And as fans know all too well, since then, the rappers' beef has grown into an all-out rap war between Drake, Pusha, and Kanye West (who Drake has accused of leaking the information about his son) with no end in sight.
With all that drama surrounding the exposure of Drake's secret child, it remains unclear why The Weeknd, if he actually did shade him, would want to step into all that beef.
Here's to hoping this Drake-Kanye-Pusha feud doesn't add a new party!
