Blake Shelton is a country music veteran and his dozens of No. 1 songs show he's still got that magic touch that connects his songs with fans.
Fans across the country love his new single, "God's Country," and have proven it by getting it up the charts to the top spot. In the interview, Shelton reflects on the first time he ever heard the song; which was written by Devin Dawson, Hardy, and Jordan Schmidt.
“It was the most shocking moment I’ve had in my 20 years of doing this,” he revealed. “I was in a place physically that I consider to be God’s country doing the thing that makes me feel the most connected to God, which is working on the land."
After that moment, Shelton was convinced this song was something special. As of this week, it became his 26th No. 1 and he's now confident to say it's the biggest song of his career.
"Who would have ever thought that almost 20 years into my career, I'd have my biggest hit yet?" he said. "I really feel like 'God's Country' is that now. I was a little bit apprehensive about saying that maybe a month or two ago when it felt like it was taking off, but now it could be that. It's unbelievable to me — the power of a song."
