The coronavirus pandemic has caused many people to change how they do things. There are new ways to safely do everything from going out to eat to playing in a park, and there's even a way to get married in the time of COVID-19. To ensure that guests are protected, many wedding venues are severely limiting the number of people allowed to witness nuptials. Most couples handle this by only inviting close family members, but the way one soon-to-be-wed pair handled their invites is a lesson in what not to do.

Someone, likely an offended guest, shared the invitation online and it made its way to Reddit. In it, the couple explains, "Dear friends and family, please understand that our venue is limited in the number of guests we will be able to accommodate for our wedding day. As much as we would love to have each and every one of you join us on our big day, we are forced to split our guests into groups to ensure we do not surpass our capacity restrictions."

The invitation shows how the couple ranked all their guests into one of three categories: Group A, who are their first-choice guests; Group B, who can attend if some Group A guests can't; and Group C, who are essentially back-ups to the back-ups. Remarkably, the group invite guest was in was prominently displayed on their invitation.

The couple go on to suggest that everyone hire a babysitter for the night anyways, saying, "If possible, we encourage our guests to hire a babysitter for the night and leave your children at home. As much as we love kids, we are doing our best to make space for all the guests we can. We also ask for our single guests to forego their plus ones if possible. We appreciate your understanding."

Commenters were pretty shocked by the invite, writing things like, "Covid or not, being put into prioritized 'groups' and then telling everyone which group they’re in is rude," and "I don’t want to attend a wedding that I'm only going to be invited to if someone else can't."

No word on if any Group C's made it to the A-List.
